Synopsis: Miles and Eve take a big step!
Cast of Characters: Miles Morales, Eve Wilkins

Miles Morales has posed:
They've talked about it awhile now.

Visiting Gotham, seeing Miles's place, potentially even meeting his parents. Of course, compared to New York and Metropolis? Gotham City is a rough town. It's almost always raining, the darkness comes with the night. Out of the major cities on the coast, Gotham City has the worst crime by far.

Thankfully though, despite the wind, chill, and constant police movement, the city has its heroes. While Spider-Man is a great help, the greatest of these is undoubtedly Batman. Yet, as Spider-Man THWIPS through the city with Eve Wilkins in his arms, the masked figure looks at his girlfriend.

"Almost there!"

Indeed, as they swing, she'll notice they're moving towards an older part of town where an apartment complex is located.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
"This never gets old!"

Eve's voice is raised to carry through the wind. She's wearing jeans and boots, today, with a pink hoodie pulled up over her head. Sure, she could have done the whole Atom Eve outfit and been wet and miserable for 'the ride,' but it wasn't like anyone was going to recognize her in Gotham. She wasn't /that/ famous. Nor was she that interested in being Atom Eve if she didn't have to be. It was fun to play those games on the beach and go flying around Happy Harbor for sport, sometimes, but that costume carried a heavy weight for her. She still wasn't quite ready to get back into 'crime fighting,' even as much better about it as Miles had helped her feel.

She tucked her face in against Spider-Man's neck, happy just to cling and feel the wind -- the G-forces giving her those funny feelings in her tummy when they swung through each of the arcs -- and the trust that he had her came easy with Miles.

A few wisps of red hair escaped from that hood, but otherwise it seemed to do a pretty good job of keeping her dry. Another one of Miles's good suggestions.

Miles Morales has posed:
"I would hope it doesn't!!"

Miles was hooping and hollering as the G-forces past through the pair of them. They swing through the streets of Gotham City, passing so fiercely through the rain it's a wonder how either of them can see anything. It's true, people think that Eve is just some random girl Spider-Man rescued.

"Good save Spider-Man!" A woman calls from the streets below with her cell phone out.

But finally, perhaps mercifully for the stomach, Miles gets them to land safely on the window sil of his apartment room, sliding the window open and carrying Eve inside, setting her down gently on the floor.

"Welcome to my humble abode."

Unlike Eve's place, this seems much more lived in. He has numerous pictures up of his family, of his accomplishments. Kid was academically decorated! He has numerous trophies in a curio cabinet from science fairs and meet and greets, even has a picture of him shaking hands with a Dr. Kurt Conners.

Otherwise, the basics. A couch,cs dinner table set, a TV with a PS5 hooked up, the works.

...it also looks like Miles has a roommate.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Gotham was different than anything Eve had been used to in the past. Sure, Happy Harbor had its share of incidents, and she'd occasionally even ventured in to New York 'back in the day' to help take care of some menace or other. Metropolis was the 'City of Tomorrow.' Even the places she went in Africa were different. Far less developed.

Gotham was... well... not the City of Tomorrow. Maybe the city of 'You Might Live to See Tomorrow.' Even the weather here was brooding.

But once they're sliding in through the window of the apartment, Eve finds her feet and, instead of dripping on the floor, raises a hand and... well.. insta-dries herself. Because that's a thing she can do. Then she pushes her hoodie back and smiles, looking around.

"This is great," she says, and everything in her voice suggested she was absolutely sincere. Her place could sometimes feel... sterile. She hadn't really figured out how to be 'normal,' even in that regard. But this felt more like a home.

"Oh! Do you want me to...?" She gestures up and down him. Dry him off? Change him? All of the above?

Was it creepy that your girlfriend kept changing your clothes for you? It seemed like she was at least trying to put that back in check, rather than just doing it because she could.

Miles Morales has posed:
'You Might Live To See Tomorrow'

An apt description for Gotham City. Though even as they crawl through the open window, Miles THWIPS a web out of the base of his wrist to the lock of it, pulling sharply to force the thing to close. "It catches sometimes." Miles attempts to explain, lanky shoulders lifting upwards in a shrug.

She compliments his place and his hands clasp behind him, costumed feet scuffing the ground. "Shucks babe, that means a lot to me." He mutters shylyvto her. "so have a small taste for personalization -" Bullshit. It's not small at all, Miles loves spray painting and putting stickers on the weirdest places as a way to leave his mark. Ehile she manages to dry off immediately, Mikes is still very much a soaked mess.

"Oh, if you want to. I imagine we won't be indoors long, but I feel like it's better to hug you if I'm not soaking wet." So at least it's comfortable for her!

"That said...welcome to Gotham! What would you like to do first?"

Eve Wilkins has posed:
"I mean, if I get a hug out of it," Eve chides, grinning. She turns her palm towards him and that familiar pink glow swipes over him like a barcode scanner, replacing his wet Spidey suit with his dry, casual clothes. She even waves her hand at the floor, getting rid of the little puddle he was starting to form. Oh, how useful being able to modify matter at the subatomic level could be. Saving cities, feeding the hungry, turning the guys bad guys were holding into bananas, removing the wheels of get-away cars...

And she was using it for fashion and household chores.

But as if expecting immediate payment for services rendered, Eve moved up to Miles and slipped her arms around his waist, smiling up at him.

"Well, maybe I can get your help decorating my place. You seem to have a knack for it."

Probably a good start might be for her to start doing /actual/ chores instead of just reverting everything back to a surgical-level of 'clean and new.'

"I don't know," she says with a little shrug. "The sky's the limit as far as I'm concerned. We can hang out here in your place for a little while... or you can show me around. Is your roommate supposed to be back any time soon?" She actually hadn't heard much about the roomie.

Miles Morales has posed:
She absolutely gets a hug out of it! The flash of pink light travels over Miles and for some reason, Hd always thinks he's going to open his eyes and find himself in all pink, like a strange Barbie transition. But, gone is the Spider-themed black and red suit, instead replaced by clothes he'd wear on the street.

Namely a good pair of kicks in his feet, some good jeans, a black T-shirt, and a jacket colored black and red over his torso.

"I am never gonna get used to that. Super convenient."

Then he's being immediately hugged by Eve! A big smile on his face as he curls his arms around her in a big hug! His lips press against her forehead. "Thank you for being here with me."

He meant it. Every single word.

"I'd love to." Help decorate! "Honestly, I could paint your wall for you, give it a solid artistic edge. "Hmmmm...Ganke should be back pretty soon. Dunno how you feel about the rain, but we could try and grab a bite, certainly."

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve blinks up at him, her smile broadening at the kiss to her head and being thanked for being there. "Really? I think it's great. And I really don't mind the rain. It's kinda... moody. It sorta matches how I was feeling before I met you, so I get it."

She grins. "Well, it's all yours.. whatever you feel like doing to it. Honestly, though, I don't know how much longer I intend to stay in Metropolis. I'm finishing up that math class -- thanks to you -- and then I could easily transfer if I wanted to."

She shrugs her shoulders faintly.

"I could always move closer to Gotham..."

And gee. Why would she want to be closer to Gotham. A faint blush touches her cheeks.

"Just a thought, though. Food sounds good. I like the chance to eat something I didn't make. My.. um.. recipes.. get a little redundant."

Miles Morales has posed:
Mikes could kiss Eve for hours and it'd never get old.

"Same."

He clears his throat.

"I-I mean I was the same before I met you. Just kinda lonely and sad and...seriously terrible at managing my regular life and being Spider-Man." Mikes admits, tucking a strand of red hair behind Eve's ear as he flashes her a big smile.

Then surprise overtakes him!

"You...you want to come to Gotham?" Nobody wants to come to Gotham! "We...we could...you know...get a place together?"

He freezes, then is shaking his hands back and forth quickly. "If you want! Just a suggestion so we can make rent easier." And so Miles can be around her more. Because he's a greedy lover dammit!

"Your recipes? Never. Alright, there's an amazing Chinese Food place across the way. literally will change how you see the meal items forever."

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve's eyes half-lid for a moment at the brush of Mile's finger, the sweep of that hair behind her ear. There's even a shift of her weight, a slight lean against him. She liked those doting little gestures, those gentle touches, just as much as she liked... well... everything else about being around him.

Which is probably why there's more than a little excitement that lights up her eyes at the words 'get a place together.'

Of course, there's also a few seconds of speechlessness and a hint of panic. "Miles, that's huge. And I wasn't trying to push you! I mean, I know that's a big deal, and I really did just want to be closer to you..." She bites her lip, though, which fails to hide the mischievous grin. "But, I wouldn't exactly argue. I spend every minute I can with you, anyway."

She laughs, then, leaning up to steal a quick, playful his from his lips and then slip her hand into his, drawing him back towards the door.

"Come on. Chinese. We can talk about it while we eat."

Miles Morales has posed:
It's what Miles was getting used to. The little touches. The sudden kisses and easy leans. The snuggles. The /amazing/....intimacy. Having a girlfriend and having a girlfriend that just happens to be Eve Wilkins was a defining difference!

And yet, she seems to be all for moving in together. All for taking their relationship to the next level...but also maybe a little panicked. "I'm sorry if it's too much! I'd just...You know..." He rubs his arm. "I spend every minute I can with you and honestly? I really like falling asleep next to you." Then before another word can be said? He feels her lips against his in a quick kiss before he's being pulled by the hand towards the door!

"Yes ma'am. Are we going by foot or by web?" He asks her, and as soon as they get through the door he starts singing.

In the rain.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
"By foot," Eve laughs warmly, humor touching her eyes as she walks out the door with him, holding his hand. Her other moves to pull that pink hoodie up over her head. "It might be dangerous for you, but I'm not even close to being sweet enough to melt in the rain."

There's a playful fluttering of eyelashes, and then, as if to punctuate the point, she shoves him playfully with her shoulder (all while still holding on to his hand, of course).

"Besides, it's just across the way, right? You lead. I have /no/ idea where we're going. If you leave it up to me, we'll probably end up at a laundromat." She winks, tugging herself closer to him. "And... for the record? It's not too much. The falling asleep together thing? Totally on the same page."

Miles Morales has posed:
"Foot it is!" Miles happily exclaims, seemingly overjoyed to just be able to be on public with Eve. Hands holding one another, fingers firmly intertwined.
% *Bump*

Shoved with a shoulder, Miles has had to learn to 'sell' certain things. Almost habitually, he stumbles a little bit as he chuckles. As if just as playfully, he pulls her tighter to his form, as if to fit her against him, something she seems happy to do as she does the same.

"Yes ma'am." He reaches to cup her cheek to bring her lips delicately to his own.

"And...the tutoring would be fun." He winks at her. She knows /exactly/ what he means. "I think it'd be a great idea. We can both work to bring in money for the bills, get a nice place..." Miles is already dreaming. "I'd really like it."

Eve Wilkins has posed:
There's something wicked that flashes in Eve's eyes when she's ma'amed again-- her mouth opening to make some remark, though she seems to bite her tongue. It's true, though, she is very happy to be pulled up to fit against him, and she happily tilts her head to make it as easy as possible to kiss her, her eyes shining happily.

"Me, too. Alright, it's settled. We're doing it."

She chews on her lower lip for a moment, not even seeming to be bothered by the drizzle, the traffic, the general /smell/ of Gotham, or the other pedestrians. Even if she did stand out a little in her pink hoodie, she seemed perfectly content right up against Miles, slipping her arm around him as they walk.

"You know the area, though. So, you're going to have to get us started finding places to look at. Preferably some place no one's going to try to kill us our first few nights." The astute might note the 'try to.' Eve might be lacking the confidence to go out and be a 'hero,' but she obviously didn't doubt her abilities in a pinch.

Miles Morales has posed:
Miles's eyes briefly widen.

He is aware he very nearly died. She had opened her mouth as if to deliver a truly scathing remark. But it never comes. She bites her tongue, and instead of Miles waiting for an anvil to materialize and fall on his head, he experiences only the sweet serenity of her lips in a sweet, gentle kiss.

"We're doing it." Miles agrees happily. "I'm really glad we are. I've...I've never met anyone quite like you, Sam." Miles still calls her by her true first name, the name of the woman he adores most in the world. Sge curls an arm around his waist and his goes about her shoulders.

"True. Don't worry, we'll go someplace people won't try to shoot us." Because if anyone messes with Eve? They're gonna have their hands full with Spider-Man. But, Miles is quiet for a moment until...

"I love you."

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve laughs warmly, the smile reaching all the way up to her eyes when he mentions not having met anyone like her, before. "And don't you forget it. There's only one Samantha Wilkins," she teases, eyes shining. "I mean, that's probably factually untrue, but still..."

"Not shooting is best," she reiterates happily, content just to walk along with him.

And then there are those three little words.

She doesn't even break stride.

She does look over at him, though, her eyes still glowing with warmth.

"I love you, too, Miles."

Then she places a quick kiss against his cheek and rests her head against his shoulder, breathing out a soft, content sigh.

Miles Morales has posed:
"To me it may as well be true. Samantha Wilkins, the one and only." Miles smirks at her softly. "And I'll never forget it. What's even cooler? That nerd Miles Morales is her boyfriend." Miles grins at her from ear to ear.

And as they walk? Miles's ears turn red from the extent of that blush. She loves him too. God, the both of them. There's nowhere else he wants to be but right there with her. The kiss on his cheek is met with mirth and he rests his head on hers as they walk through that Gotham rain...
