Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Daisy Johnson

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The candy convention had had hints of something that might go wrong there. Chatter of a possible attack that the authorities took seriously, but not enough to have stopped the even.

Daredevil as well as a few other heroes had been in attendance to try to make sure nothing wrong wrong. Though Matt was alarmed to find Karen Page was one of the attendees. Especially when a horde of people stampeded out of one of the talks under the affect of a drug that left them all attacking others in a psychotic frenzy.

Daredevil had managed to keep Karen protected until she was able to get away. Now he waits long enough for Karen to get back to the apartment where she's been staying with Daisy and Matt, before he returns.

Karen arrives back, opening the door with the key they gave her. Once on the inside of it, she closes it and leans back against it, letting out a breath as she finally reaches a place she feels like she'll be safe. "Matt?" She calls. "Daisy?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy had been looking forward to going to that candy convention yet to her dismay she had been hit with unexpected interference by the way of SHIELD bureaucracy she had to handle before midnight. Mostly due to her own negligence and procrastination yet of course that Daisy would blame the powers that be about not being able to attend. Instead she had tasked Karen and Matt to bring her some goodies so she could delight herself later..

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

The door opening and closing is the telling sound that they are arriving. Or wait, only Karen? Didn't they go together? Daisy gets up to her feet, "I am in the living room.." pair of yoga pants, sleeveless shirt and hair up in a bun. Feet bare of course. "Is everything okay?"

While Daisy speaks the tiniest occupant of the house may have detected Karen not being in the best of places mentally and pads over, tail wagging and offering a 'Meow' of commiseration.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Karen moves into the apartment, looking visibly frazzled. "Daisy," she says, injecting tones of relief into the name. "There was an attack at the convention. Some guy... Colonel something or other. Drugged a bunch of people and they went wild, attacking people with... with axes and pipes and all sorts of stuff," Karen says.

She looks around. "Did Matt make it back? I didn't even hear from him if he made it there," Karen asks Daisy. "I hope he's ok."

Her hands have a little tremble to them that Daisy might pick up on as she reaches down to pet the cat. "Hey Boxer," she says to the feline.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
While some small part of her was sort of disappointed there would be no candy her worry was fully on the woman's wellbeing when Daisy spots the way she looks right now. She presses her lips together. "Come in and sit down.." her tone softer and she pads over to help her in, injecting some sense of safety to the place she's temporarily been staying at.

"Matt isn't here yet. But don't worry about him." which might be a weird thing to say about a blind man who may have been involved in that incident. "I am sending him a message though.."

And she starts doing just that, typing a message quickly to send.

"In the meantime, sit down.. Do you want something to drink?" She goes towards the kitchen because she can multitask in sending a message and providing beverages, "Water, juice.." a pause, "Wine? Whiskey?" that was a quick escalation. But there are options!

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Karen Page sits down beside Daisy as the brunette urges her to do. She sits forward, elbows on her knees, hands holding each other to stop her fingers from fidgeting. "Hopefully he didn't even make it in yet," she says slowly. "Yes some... un, whiskey actually. Maybe a glass of wine after?" Karen says in an unsteady voice.

It doesn't take Daisy too long to get a reply back from Matt:

> Tell Karen I heard people running from the convention center, but I couldn't get ahold of her. I'll be home soon. Someone ran into me and I cut my arm, stopped to get something on it.

Daisy might suspect that Matt receiving a wound entailed more than just someone running into him. Unless she suspects the person had an axe in hand at the time and was accompanied by another with a lead pipe. Which is more to the truth.

Karen reaches down to pick up Boxer and resituate the young cat to her lap. "I don't get why people do things like that. Why would they hurt people," she says, shaking her head. "Daredevil was there, and he stopped a few people who came after me. And someone, not sure who he was, heated up the room so all the chocolate they were after melted. Also seemed to kind of slow and calm the rabid people, though I didn't stick around to see much more."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Great choice." Daisy says of it, making her way across the counter to get the special whiskey they keep for these more dire occasions. Or for when JJ visits. A good ol' bottle of Macallan. She claims three glasses and leads her way back to the living room.

"Got a message from Matt. He will be home soon.." and she doesn't even sound frustrated for Matt trying to downplay the seriousness of it. Because now she knows there was trouble happening at the convention! "So I got one for him already.." A glass, that is. She sets them on the small table in the living room and pours a couple in.

"Sounds like a story.." She murmurs, arching a brow at it, "So there were people after this .., chocolate? And people going crazy with it?" she frowns some, picking up her glass to have a drink. Boxer just relaxes on Karen's lap, content for the time being. He's not hungry ..., yet.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"I'm not really sure how they got affected," Karen says. "I was going around the floor," she tells Daisy. "Getting samples. I had a bag I was slowly filling up for us. There were keynotes talks and breakout sessions and that sort of thing going on," she explains as she takes the whiskey.

Karen takes a rather stiff drink of it to start with, before continuing. "And then the doors banged open from one of those rooms. And the people started streaming out. They had weapons already, some of them. And chocolate dropped from the ceiling over the convention floor. Some of the people started rushing for it and gobbling it up. And others just were going berserk and attacking people," she says. "I don't know how they got affected by it, whatever it was, it happened in the room I guess," she says.

She takes another drink of the whiskey, a smaller one this time. The sound of the apartment's door opening can be heard, and the tapping of Matt's cane as he comes inside, calling out, "Karen, are you ok?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy listens, brows furrowed, at the story produced by Karen. Somehow that's not the kind of experience she was expecting out of a quaint candy convention, "Good thing there were heroes there like Daredevil to help out.." she smiling comfortingly back at Karen. "Well, you are safe and sound and ...." she cranes her neck over just before the key is in the lock.

"Matt is here." Wait, how did she know? Oh, right. She's Quake. The rather public hero for SHIELD.

"We are in the living room." A beat, "I got the macallan. Two fingers for you?" she is already pouring what she knows is Matt's usual before reaching out to rest a hand on Karen's.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Karen turns her hand to clasp Daisy's as if taking comfort from her presence after the frightening incident. "Just seeing people... behaving like animals, like savages," she murmurs, Karen shaking her head and taking another sip as she looks up as Matt moves into the living room. "I'm ok. Almost not, but I didn't get hurt. Just bumped a little by people running after Daredevil stopped the people coming after me," she says.

Matt makes his way over, feeling to find the empty spot on the touch and taking a seat as he folds his cane. "What happened, exactly? I got there and people were running and screaming," he tells her.

Karen repeats the story that she told Daisy. Adding Daredevil throwing a chair to tangle one man's legs who was chasing her, but otherwise the story is about the same. "Well," Matt tells her, "Don't worry about the candy. Not like it would be safe to eat. Just glad that you're ok," he says, reaching over and gently resting a hand on Karen's shoulder.

"Thank you," Karen tells him, and then looks to Daisy. "I'm kind of glad my place is under construction. Honestly I wouldn't have wanted to be stuck alone after it."

Matt gives her shoulder a squeeze. "Well, we'd have been fine with you coming over even if your place was livable," he says. "Daisy, how are you? Did you get caught up in it too?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Sounds just like when I tried going to one of those black friday sales..." Daisy attempting a small smile back at Karen with her little joke, " ... never again.." she then murmurs. She lets out a sigh and squeezes Karen's hand before letting go, eyes focusing on Matt and his overall aspect. Most likely looking for any signs of wounds too. She gets up to go over and place a quiet kiss to his lips.

"I didn't go. Was caught up in SHIELD stuff. And you? All alright with you?" she looks him over, making sure to not touch his arms where she knows he was hurt. The glass is picked up and handed over to Matt so he can have a drink.

"And indeed you are fine to stay for as long as you want, Karen. The house is big enough." She chuckles. "Bigger than we know what to do with it." she grinning back to Matt. "We are too used to living in smaller places." considering they grew up in an orphanage. And let's not talk about Daisy living in a van in her earlier adult years.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt slides an arm around Daisy as she comes over. "I'm ok. Got knocked over and took a bump on the arm, but nothing major," he lies. He kisses Daisy back gently, keeping it light given they have a visitor. Or more of a house guest really.

Karen says, "I'm glad you weren't in there. It was bedlam with everyone trying to get away. I'm surprised no one was crushed trying to get out."

Matt takes a sip of his whiskey and says, "Well, we're all home now. Home and safe." He gives Daisy a gentle squeeze. "We can do something relaxing. Open a bottle of wine. Go up on the roof if it's not too hot? Or maybe watch a movie down here?" he suggests to the two ladies.
