Matthew Murdock has posed:
The fight with the Triad had occurred during a regular patrol. A drug dealer who Daredevil caught selling to a thirteen year old. When the costumed hero intervened, extra muscle rolled up and a fight ensued.

The Triad got the worst of it, though Matt is going to have a fat lip to explain to Foggy and Karen tomorrow. "Maybe I can say Daisy roughed me up?" he comments to himself as he takes a seat on one of the lawn chairs they have set on the roof. Where Daisy can enjoy the view, and Matt can enjoy the breeze.

He opens up a bottle of beer and holds it up to the corner of his lip where it is a little puffed up for a few seconds, before taking a sip of it.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It isn't often that their schedules meet that they can go out together at night. Not going out like a normal couple, no. Instead it's to beat up Triads, or maybe in this case getting beat up? Jury was still out.

And Daisy could be quite judgemental.

"I will tell them you were trying to eat all the pie without offering any." She is still in her costume, the black and blue they had fixed her with Marlon's help even if the mask was out, leaving her long hair free, the winds felt now that was night making it flow freely about her shoulders, "Though I suppose it could be worst." and that was always her fear.

She reaches to pick up another bottle of beer and corks it open with a little vibrational help. "These Triad members are becoming more present in the streets as of late." she notes.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Yes, I've noticed they are making a push. That corner he was working," Matt replies, "Had another group working it just last week. Mostly black kids who work the next two blocks to the west," he says. Matt takes another sip of the cold beer. He gives a soft sigh, more at the coolness of it on the hot night, than the flavor. It's tough for him to find high quality beers that satisfy his heightened sense of taste. Not ones that they can afford on the salaries of a SHIELD agent and a lawyer from a neighborhood practice that struggles to get by.

"Was good to have you there," he comments, reaching over to rest a hand on Daisy's arm and give it a little squeeze before letting go. "I may have to poke around and see if I can't get a line on their distribution network."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Mmmmm..." Daisy considers it a few moments. It's nothing either of them hadn't witnessed before, some stronger group pushing a weaker one out. "Seems like you have a new player in the neighborhood then." lips press to a line, "Or an old one that got new money, or perhaps a motive to push the other groups out." her mind at work as she goes through the various possibilities.

"As a lawyer you have access to some of the movements here in Hell's Kitchen. Perhaps we can check if there's anything out of the ordinary happening in that area that may justify it." A faint smile coming to her lips at the hand on her arm before her own hand comes to rest on Matt's chest.

"Next time you come home with a busted lip I will make you regret it." she warns, bapping her knuckles against his front with a grin.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Been awhile since we gave Brett cigars for his mother," Matt says, mentioning a former childhood friend who was now on the police force. "He wasn't too tickled about it since he wants Bess to stop smoking. Though maybe we can come up with something else to encourage him to dish on what the precinct has been noticing," he muses quietly.

Matt turns his head over towards Daisy. "How are you at baked goods?" he teases. He moves his hand to rest atop her own where she's touching his chest.

The man's smile grows a little at the threat from Daisy. "Avoid getting beat up, or else my girlfriend will beat me up. Kind of lose-lose situation there," he says, deep voice carrying a fond tone. He draws a slow breath in and lets it out. "So far it seems like Oliver Queen and his company are keeping to their word about trying to improve things at Phoenix Towers. Though the dealers there are out in such force. I think they are going to need a hand clearing them out. It's not going to be a short or easy thing to do. The dealers make a lot of money there. A lot of Triad on that territory."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I am good at eating them?" Is what Daisy replies, sticking her tongue out briefly back at Matt with a raised brow. "Though I can always use Youtube..." no matter how much a disaster it had been when she had tried to cook using some recipes she found from a vlogger. She will never believe in the words 'EVEN A TOTAL NOOB COULD COOK THIS HIGH QUALITY MEAL' again. Can't believe anyone in the internet anymore these days!

"Are you saying you want to get spanked more?" She asks with a laugh, giving him another poke to the chest with her knuckles before her attention goes to what he says about Oliver Queen. "That's interesting." she says, brows furrowing, "Think there may be a relation to it? He's a recent fixture here in Hell's Kitchen." she notes. "Could had riled up the local gangs for some reason.."

Even if she isn't sure what reason that is.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt Murdock gives a quiet laugh and says, "Well, depends. Not if it's from the guy tonight." He takes another sip of his beer and then laces his fingers with hers where he's holding her hand against his chest.

"Maybe they spreading to build up a bit of a war chest to deal with matters there? Or maybe they are worried about what might change at the Towers? Looking to spread out a bit more. Diversify. Or not really diversify, but make sure they have enough other territory to fall back on?" Matt says, more thinking aloud than making definitive statements. "I don't know though, while the Triad might think about things like that, they seldom back down from a fight. I'd probably guess maybe the former. Building up their resources?"

Another sip of the cold beer is taken. "Hmm," he says as he returns to thinking about how to legally bribe the cop. "Maybe some flowers or something like that instead of food. Or... well, I'll ask around, see what else might garner some goodwill as a gift."
