To dine an elf
Date of Scene: 17 August 2023
Location: Palace - Asgard
Synopsis: The plan is ready for how to deal with the svartalfar ambassador.
Cast of Characters: Brunnhilde, Sif

Brunnhilde has posed:
No matter how much their svartalfar guest may be disliked diplomacy is still diplomacy, specially where it comes to keeping the peace in Asgard. For even warriors understand that they fight for peace.

Even if peace means dinner and having to wear those ceremonial clothes. Not that Brunnhilde ever wore those, normally going to every function in her armor or something warrior-like. So it might be with some suspicion that Sif gets an invitation to meet up at Hilde's room so she can help the valkyrie 'choose adequate clothing'. So sus.

And worst of all is when Sif makes her way in and finds Hilde there that she says the kind of words that can bring dread to even Odin himself.

"So, I have a cunning plan."

Sif has posed:
That stopped Sif in her tracks as she stood still at the door, having closed it behind her, hand still on the knob. Meaning she could make a break for it. Yet, she also knew Hilde and the idea of what this might be up to was too tempting for her to step away from it.

She let go of the door and moved further into the room. At the moment, she was in her armor but sans helmet. She was just more comfortable in it. She moved to sit, hand moving to the hilt of her weapon and shifting the balance so she could sit on the armless chair nearby without it snagging anything.

"Do tell."

Brunnhilde has posed:
Hilde, for her part, is dressed in a lighter armor today. Never can be too careful with a dark elf around after all, even if it's her own room. Blade isn't in sight but with Dragonfang's retrieval it's not like it needs to be as she can call it just like Thor does. Which Hilde has made sure to show off a few times by now. She grins as Sif seems willing to hear at least, or maybe even into the plan itself.

"So, I don't believe this guy when he's telling he's here for peace." she says, which she pretty much had demonstrated rather publicly already when they met him face to face, "And it's our duty to get to the bottom of this, as such this will begin with one of us getting drop dead drunk.."

Oh, this is going great already.

Sif has posed:
There was a nod of Sif's head in agreement that this guy was not here for peace. Though she wasn't sure what he was here for. Because it really didn't make a lot of sense after they were finally defeated from so many centuries of fighting. But what if he was telling the truth?

Neither here nor there. She didn't trust him. Odin had made his decision already. Everything was already settled.

At mention of one of them getting that drunk, Sif's eyebrows lifted in surprise as she grinned a little.

She knew that this meant pretending to be drunk. At least, she thought it did. "You might be the better choice for that role but depends on the rest of the plan," she surmised.

Brunnhilde has posed:
"Psheh, you are a great drunk too." Hilde waves her hand off dismissively on whether she is a better one or not. Though wait, was that an insult or a praise? "The idea is getting to a state that we will look easy pickings if it gets to a duel." she shares a bit more of the plan.

"Enough that when we insult him thoroughly he feels confident enough to challenge us to a duel for his honor." She grins mischievously. "Which will be a mistake. We will beat him to a pulp. And then ..." she pauses for dramatic momentum, " ... we will extract the truth out of him. For the winner always takes something out of the loser. And in this case, we'd force him to tell the truth of him being there."

She looks pleased with herself. "Kelda's magic should assure it too."

Sif has posed:
There was a flash of a smile from Sif at her ability to be drunk. Because yes, she had been that way more than once in her life. And would be again. It was sort of required as an Asgardian. Fighting and drinking. Though those were just parts of a whole, of course.

Yet an important pair.

Listening to the idea, she nodded a bit as she considered the plan from various angles. "It seems a ...solid plan. Though getting him to challenge might be tricky. He didn't rise to your taunts upon his arrival so I'm not sure if he will then. Unless he too is in his cups."

She nodded then, a decisive motion. "I like it. I'm in."

Brunnhilde has posed:
"Mmmm, you are right..." Hilde rubs at her chin in a considering manner, "We will have to make this a two-pronged attack." she tells the other warrior. "You get drunk, I convince him to drink ...., the spirit of Asgard demands it after all."

If anything Hilde is a great enabler. Only the most stoic have been able to resist drinking along with Hilde in the past.

"Besides, we will be having the best mead Asgard has to offer.." She lets out a laugh, "Those scrawny elves drink one goblet and they are already dropping dead." she grinning mischievously.

"Let's get to work."

Sif has posed:
And thus the plan was hatched. With Sif in the role of drunken tormenter of their Svartalf guest. Not that she minded. Though she felt like Brunnhilde was the better taunter, she had no problem in trying on the role. Plus Brunnhilde /was/ more affable and thus easier for her to get someone drinking with her than it would be for Sif.

"They are hearty despite their size. But I have no doubt that by the third glass, he will be too drunk to resist the temptation to challenge."

And she smiled oh-so-innocently. "And since I will sadly be drunk, I will not realize how I am behaving during a guest rite."
