Alleyway Cats
Date of Scene: 19 September 2023
Location: Alleyways: Brooklyn
Synopsis: Two proper feline people meet - and plan to try and find The Tigra!
Cast of Characters: Kitkat, Alderic

Kitkat has posed:
The back alleyways of Brooklyn offer three crucial benefits to the single feline lugging the item clad in a blanket over her shoulder: They were too narrow for cars, making traffic on foot easy, and they did not pass in front of shopowners that might call police. And finally, they were deserted most of the time, so nobody would run for 'safety' or try to call police, avengers or stuff. For Kitkat, all of them were clear benefits as she stalked the alley, her sword hidden away in the thick blanket as she ushered along, the nose twitching in the air.

Alderic has posed:
By an odd coincidence, Alderic happens to be in that very same alley! The cougar-man is curled up in a shadowy corner, concealed from view of the street on either end. He was napping, but an errant sound and a twitch of his ear had him lifting his head. Nostrils flare as he takes in the scent on the air, of another feline. His ears perk and he gets up onto his hands and feet, slinking from the shadows like a more bestial feline. Kitkat is easy to spot, at least! Alderic stops in the middle of the alleyway, crouched on hand and foot, before calling out to her with a vocal, raspy-sounding "Rrowl!"

Kitkat has posed:
The growl has the calico patterned one stop, the tail balancing out the movement while the heavy object in a blanket is shifted to adjust for the sudden halt. The longer part of it is behind her neck, the other end balanced by a single hand. "Who's there?" she demands, the sharp feline eyes narrowing on the crouched figure. Sure, she could see him, but her words did almost sound like an order to identify.

Alderic has posed:
Alderic tilted his head slightly. He wasn't making much of an effort to conceal himself, though the alley wasn't exactly the most well-lit location in the city. Rather than reply aloud, the cougar-man prowls closer. Graceful movements bring the mountain lion nearer to the feline woman, near enough that she can see the collar around his throat, and possibly even read the plate on its side bearing his name. He replies again with a raspy "Rrowl!" though she might know he's only asking the same question of her.

Kitkat has posed:
Kitkat growls a moment as he asks who she was of her in almost feral cat tongue, the heavy item from her shoulder slowly spinning halfway, changing from resting on the shoulder to having its formerly far end put on the ground in front of her. The parts jutting out at the top quarter almost tell that it was a sword even without unwrapping as she regards the cougar over it. A long moment she is silent, then snarls her name in the mewls of the old cat tongue, repeating her demand for his name right after - and adding if he knew the civillized language of people."

Alderic has posed:
There's what could only be an expression of surprise from the cougar-man when Kitkat speaks to him in a way he understands. He rumbles warmly in reply and tells her, "I am called Alderic! I cannot speak the human words but I understand them. How do you speak with me? Were you also a cat who was made a person?" He seems curious about her now, even so far as prowling closer so he can investigate her and the sword she carries. Though if she insists he'll keep his distance, he's just an excited feline in the moment!

Kitkat has posed:
Kitkat chuffs some as Alderic talks about a cat made a person, a sound of surprise, not disgust. But she doesn't shoo him away, yet the hands stay on the handle of the blanket-wrapped weapon. It does still carry the smell of steel though. "Who learned the spell that was destroyed hundreds of years ago when Ebrok made the first Cat People? And how did they manage to botch it to not grant the gift of speech together with it?"

Alderic has posed:
Alderic crawls around to settle in front of her again, squatting and peering up at her face. "Alderic was not made by anyone called Ebrok. Alderic was made by men in white clothes, and was kept in a cage, but then was rescued by a woman called April! She took Alderic away from there." He rumbles warmly, his tail giving small twitches as he talks with Kitkat.

Kitkat has posed:
Kitkat frowns at the explanation, the words barely making much sense. "Did they use spells and wear proper robes at least? Had beards like a proper sorcerer?" she inquires, her own tail twitching some as things sounded odd.

Alderic has posed:
Alderic seems to consider her question carefully. "No?" he answers finally, "I remember one had a beard, but he was not the one in charge. There was another man, made of metal, who was angry all the time." The cougar-man rumbles again. Unfortunately he doesn't know much about magic -or- science, so details are going to be sparse!

Kitkat has posed:
Kitkat's frown deepens as she shakes her head. "That's improper! How can they attempt to make Cat People without spells and decorum? How dare they! And animating metal? How could they! We should inform the Tigra about this travesty and see how she deems to deal with such!"

Alderic has posed:
Alderic's head tilts the other direction, as he continues to peer up at Kitkat. "Who is Tigra?" he inquires, curious about this person she mentioned. He doesn't know anyone named Tigra! "I have not met any other cat people before you, not cat people like me, at least." His tail swishes again and he purrs! "Is Tigra also a cat person? Was she a cat before, too?"

Kitkat has posed:
"The Tigra is the most honorable! For all I know she must be somewhere around, for I saw her once." Kitkat offers, shrugging on the other questions. Still leaning onto the blade, she eye sthe almost feral one. "You might want to ask that her yourself, but at your risk."

Alderic has posed:
Alderic settles back into a crouch again and rumbles deeply. "I have not seen her, but I am not always here. Sometimes I am in the other city!" He tilts his head again and peers at Kitkat. "Do you live here?" he asks, "I come to visit friends I have made, usually!"

Kitkat has posed:
"There is more than one city? This city is stretching for days and weeks without end!" Kitkat claimed in return, the head tilting a little. "I shall see to try to find the Tigra again, and tell her of your plight if you don't. She can't abandon the Cat People and allow strange unfit sorcerers from making more Cat People without proper decorum! That has to end!"

Alderic has posed:
Alderic nods his head! "I live there! It is not very different, there are lots of cars and people and bunches of people who wear costumes. Some of them like Alderic and pet him and let him stay in their homes sometimes!" He rumbles warmly and tilts his head curiously to Kitkat, again. "Is Tigra the leader of cat people? I have never heard of her before, even when I was a cat I do not recall her."

Kitkat has posed:
"The Tigra isn't the leader, but the first tigra was a powerful warrior liberating the Cat People." Kitkat claims, stretching a moment but not letting the blade go. "Yet I have no idea where she is... I ought to look for her too."

Alderic has posed:
Alderic's tail twitches and he nods his head in understanding. "Maybe we can find her together! It has been a long time since I knew another cat, all the other cats are afraid of me now because I smell too much like humans. Probably because I spend so much time with them now."
