Date of Scene: 08 October 2023
Location: Grand Library - Themysciran Arts Center
Synopsis: Loki drops by to tease Natasha, who is wary!
Cast of Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Loki

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
As of late Natasha has been coming to the Themysciran Library. A few tomes are out in front of her, spread over the table. They're in Ancient Greek - or at least the dialect that the Amazons use. A few tablets are also spread around, which are showing off translations in English as she's working through transcribing them. They're about ancient Greek monsters and underwater beasts.

Loki has posed:
"It must be," Loki's voice observes with casual tolerance, "Obnoxious to not be able to read every language freely." It must indeed be. Loki's dressed in entirely modern attire - blacks and crimson, and has invited himself to sit down at the same table Natasha is using. He has some sort of large Starbucks in hand.

Loki seats himself smoothly and uses one finger to tip over a page of one of the books nearby, as if the page itself might be infected with something.

"A lot of /work/."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
And that gets Natasha's attention. "Loki Odinson, what brings you here?" She would inquire politely. That was Loki's proper name after all, at least since she had interacted with him over his Regency. It seemed polite to refer to him after all.

"And it's ag ood basis for comparison. You are fluent in it, I presume?" Allspeak would let him read it after all.

IT's nothing special - just tales of Greek monsters the Amazons had fought. "And it's for tactical analysis."

Loki has posed:
"/Odinson/. So formal, fellow Avenger," Loki chuckles. He settles back further in his chosen chair, putthing his feet up. It's not on the table, no, but the adjacent chair. He's not as casually relaxed as he's putting on, though. In that it's deliberate, to do that, not necessarily 'natural'. Like a way to show how casual he is.

"Enjoying my coffee," Loki answers, as if that were a normal reason to be anywhere. "Mmmmhmm, fluent. Tacticals underwater, then?" Loki's quick, he's assessed what she's looking at fast.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would glance at Loki, "Well, is not one of your position owed such formality? You are second heir to the throne of Asgard, Prince. I would not presume even as a fellow Avenger to presume that I had the right to refer to you as something else."

Showing how casual he was or not, it was best to be wary without being told specifically. "Yes, as we've had to deal with beasts and monsters more frequently as of late. Even if it is not the exact one, many of the same tactics should apply."

Loki has posed:
"Sometimes even first heir, when Thor decides to be lost in time and space," Loki agrees, flippantly. He's acting erratic, in some sense -- but that's also entirely in character for Loki from what Natasha has experienced. He's always a little tilt back and forth -- but that's better than him seeming entirely rational, because that means the tilt is there, just invisible! Best to see it, than not. "Loki is fine for now, Natasha." Such friends.

"Would you like another practice monster?" Loki asks serenely, in a way that screams that Nat's answer may be extremely important.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would fold her hands together, "No, thank you. I' sure however that your brother would enjoy the chance to do such a thing after all." Thor hadn't smashed something done by Loki in awhile. It could do him some good.

"Very well, Loki. Thank you for the pleasure of being able to be casual with you."

Loki has posed:
Loki did /ask/, instead of just putting it out as amusement. Though that doesn't bar that he still might do so. Though Natasha gives a good suggestion, and Loki laughs, leaning back.

"I see you there, diverting me to torture Thor," Loki says, drinking his coffee and pointing at her with one finger that's from the hand holding the cup. He's not annoyed.

"Always here to be sure I do Thor some /good/," Loki says sarcastically.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would mm, "Well, Thor does need the practice. And it's not been long since you've had the chance to engage in some fun with your older brother." Those tend to lead over to Thor smashing, which would be cathartic. And he would probably appreciate the chance for some fun after all!

"You could use the exercise yourself. You seem to be restless. Merely state i fyour father or mother inquire that you're trying to help ensure that your brother is on his toes."

Loki has posed:
"I could use the exercise, hm," Loki says, echoing. He's decided to be insulted, potentially. "I'm going to take this as your annoyance of being cooped up in here with these long translations," Loki decides, pulling the conversation back towards her.

Loki drops his feet off the other chair, and starts to weave a spell. It's glowing -- orange, spatters of gold -- and materializes some spectacles in his hand. They're pink, with glitter. He tosses them loosely towards her, with a sly smile. "Two hours. Translation."

Loki looks expectantly for his accolades and thank-you.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would hmm over at Loki, "Well, it would do you both some good. It's what you both do to show your care after all." Loki wouldn't send monsters after Thor if eh didn't love him after all and want to upstage him! Natasha keep sher expression amused - it might even get an honest laugh from him.

"Why thank you. And what are thes egood for?" There has to be some sort of trick to this - even with them lookign so gaudy.

Loki has posed:
"I dislike repeating myself, but just this once. Two hours. /Translation/. When you look through them," Loki says. There's a patience there, though not a lot.

"The sparkles are for fashion sense." And to be sure that there's some amusement for Loki while he's being helpful. They could have been a lot worse, though. "Though I thought that was self-evident."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would go to let ou ta sigh, "Do forgive me for missing such an obvious thing. And thank you for your assistance, Loki." Better to go along with it. He was trying in his own way to help after all. She goes to put the 'glasses on, glancing down at hte books.

Loki has posed:
Loki sits back, then, eyes half lidded, cool as a cat. Smiling to himself. "Of course. We're a /team/," purrs Loki, drinking his coffee... and with a relaxed cast of teleportation, he fades out of the chair fully.
