Cast of Characters: Billy Batson, Irie West

Billy Batson has posed:
Happy Harbor High has a driver's ed program and schedules road tests for its students. People drawing unfair conclusions about Irie taking lessons and a teacher retiring are just MEAN! In any case bright and early in the morning the inspector drives up and Billy does his best to inject positivity into the youngest Flash, whether it is needed or not.

Barring superspeed escapes, Irie gets a huge hug. Billy gives her a kiss for luck. "You just pass this like we practiced and I'll get you an ice cream, and more You can do it. he gives the petite redhead another hug. Is Wally somewhere watching? Let him see what good boyfriend material Billy was being.

Irie West has posed:
Irie can't believe how nervous she is about this road test. Like... it's just a road test. She's been driving for //months// now so it shouldn't be any problem. Still, being in control of a vehicle that weighs a couple of tons which could seriously injure (or kill!) somebody.

She gives Billy a return peck on the cheek. "Thanks for your vote of confidence. I'll ace this test because ice cream!"

The instructor just rolls his eyes and gets into the passenger seat of the car. "Whenever you're ready," he tells Irie, who slides into the driver's side.

"Can Billy come along?" she asks. "He's been there for every step of the way."

The instructor thinks about this for a moment before shrugging. "Normally we wouldn't allow it, but I think we can make an exception this time."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson gets in the back, He gives Irie's shoulders a squeeze then hands off the goods mister! He settle back and looks out the side window.

There's a 30 foot tall robot moving towards the city. A very gaudily painted robot, reminiscent of... you know, he should know this guy. It's one of the Rogues... Whatever. He pretends to get a text on his phone.

"Irie, I'm sorry I gotta go... Pedro got his arm stuck in a blood pressure machine at the drugstore and a fox stole my mom's car keys so IU have to get him." He bails without waiting for a reply. Runs along the side of the road and then falls off the embankment.

"Oh sonuva... SHAZAM!" A bolt from the blue hits in the underbrush he fell into and Shazam flies out and makes a bee line for the robot.

"Stop right there, Jester... Rogue guy!"

Irie West has posed:
Irie made it out of the parking lot and onto the streets without any problem when the vibrations of a giant robot starts rattling the car. "Uhhh..." she says, looking through the windshield at the robot when Billy starts making his excuses. "Yeah. Sure." She pulls off to the side to let Billy out before turning to the instructor.

"Maybe we should postpone this because of, you know, giant robot," she suggests.

The instructor looks at Irie blandly. "Continue on this street," he says. "These things are part of life, now, so you need to know how to deal with them. Mind the panicking citizens."

Irie grits her teeth and does as she's instructed, pulling back out and starting to weave her way through traffic. So far so good. She hasn't hit anything.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson stands in mid air, trying to look heroic. The robot turns to regard him. photo electric eyes glowing. then it rises into the air and tosses its cape. "It's 'TRICKSTER' NOT JESTER! MY GOSH I HATE WHEN PEOPLE CALL ME JESTER OR JOKESTER!"

"Oh! I apologize! Shoot everybody is always calling me Red Superman or mistaking me for a Flash. I'm Shazam by the way."

"OKAY. ACCEPTED! SO HOW DO WE... DO WE START SWINGING OR ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE A SPEECH OR SHOULD I? YOU WANT TO TRY TO TALK ME OUT OF WRECKING LITTLE GIRL FLASH?"

"What did you say?"

Sadly a Flash is not gifted with telescopic vision or super hearing to hear this exchange. But the repeated explosions and blasts of thunder do carry that far.

Irie West has posed:
Then there are the blasts. And the explosions. And Irie is doing all she can to swerve and dodge and juke to avoid them. "I //really// think we should reschedule this," she tells the instructor, who just gives her a disapproving look.

That's when she sees that a small girl and her mother is about to be struck by a missile! "Shoot!" she says, and quickly zooms out of the car, moving them out of the way, and back into the car in the blink of an eye.

"Did you just exit a moving vehicle?" the instructor asks.

Irie looks at him sheepishly. "Yes. But it was to save people!"

The instructor just tuts and makes a mart on his sheet.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam discovered the hard way that lightning doesn't do much when your target is not grounded but floating in the air. the exploding chickens were also an unpleasant surprise. They didn't injure him seriously but they did surprise him and knock him around. After one such blast he weaves around.

"I give you credit, the robot is awesome... also I feel like Svengoolie!"

"THANK YOU! OH... DAMMIT. IT'S ON TONIGHT AND I FORGOT TO DVR  IT! DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S ON?"

"Uhhhh, Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein and Invaders From Mars," Shazam answers after a moment. Then he closes and punches the robot on the chin, making its head spin around. That gives him a laugh and he fails to see the massive fist that grabs him.

Irie West has posed:
"Turn right, here," the instructor instructs. Irie obediently turns, still managing to avoid people, cars, explosions, and falling debris.

"Look," she says. "I think I'm going to call it, here. There's just... too much. Go ahead and fail me if you like, but I gotta..." She shakes her head. "Look. I'm Kid Flash. I can't just sit here doing a drivers test and let all these people get hurt."

"Mmhmm," the instructor says. "Well. Do what you need to do, I suppose. Parallel park here and we'll call it a day."

Irie groans. "You're kidding me." A solemn shake of the head lets her now that, no, he's not kidding her so she does her best to parallel park as quickly as she can. It's kind of a slapdash job, but people have done worse.

Once the car is parked and the engine is off, Irie disappears in a flash, returning in her Kid Flash costume ready to help those in need!

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam discovers the fist he is in contains a joy buzzer. There is a flare of light as it activates. Then Billy Batson is sitting in a fist that is a bit too large to close over him. He slips out while the Trickster's eyes are still adjusting.

"SHAZAM!" Billy transforms in mid-air and plows into the robot's torso. He begins to tear into the the bot's armor.

"Where the heck did you even get this robot?"

""I RESKINNED A SENTINEL!"

It is impressive, though heck, Captain Boomerang tied Flash up pretty well with throwing sticks!"

"YOU SON OF A BITCH, I'LL KILL YOU!!"

Irie West has posed:
Irie rushes towards the giant robot and shouts up at it, striking her superhero pose. "Hey, Bozo! Why don't you just give up already! You've got //two// superheroes to deal with now! You don't stand a chance!"

Billy Batson has posed:
The Robo Trickster lifts into the air higher. "Bring it, princess! I been fighting your family since being a Flash meant something! Oh... here Shazam... I don't mean to ignore you!" The robot ejects and hurls a giant exploding chicken at Happy Harbor High. "Proximity fused! Hah"

Shazam glares and is off... though he passes Irie and gives her a quick kiss faster than the eye can see. "Kick his butt!" he says very fast indeed. Then he's off.

Irie West has posed:
Yeah. How //do// you kick the butt of an twelve foot tall repurposed clown Sentinel when all you can do is go fast? Maybe they aren't water resistant? She takes a quick look around and finds what she's looking for. A fire hydrant that's been knocked off it's seating and is spewing forth water.

"Hey! Jokes are on you!" she shouts, and starts whirling her arms, creating a vortex of water which she sends right towards the robot's head."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam flies with the Speed of Mercury! He overtakes the chicken and creates a vacuum in his passing drawing the chicken up and away from the town, into the air... where it gets a little too close and BLAM! The chicken explodes into ten smaller chickens. He starts firing off lightning, the explosions knocking him about. That seems to be all of them. He squints at that robot in the distance and flies back, a little wobbly.

Behind his eyes, Mercury says, "That girl is a keeper by the way."

The Trickster Bot's aero shoes spark, sputter and fail, spewing water in all direction as ot falls to the ground.

Irie West has posed:
Irie quickly pushes people out of the way so that when the robot lands, the street is already deserted. Save for her driving instructor who is, for some reason, still taking notes.

Now that the robot is prone, she can run up to where the cockpit is and phase her hand through it, to grab the shirt of The Trickster and yank him out, phasing him through the armored hide of the robot.

"It's over, now, Trickster!" Irie says in her best Superhero voice. "Your robot is out of commission!"

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam chooses that moment to arrive he settles down right behind Irie. She must be pretty angry the way she just yanked him out of there. "Hey I... Kid Flash, you want a selfie with Trickster? Hey Trickster, do you mind.... frisk him first. I had enough of his exploding chickens!"

The Trickster says, "I'm out of chickens. I sunk my every dime into that robot. A selfie is fine. She did better than you did you... big... red... something! Flash wannabe!"

Irie West has posed:
There's a whirl as Irie searches the Trickster for more tricks, and after relieving him of a joy buzzer and whoopie cushion, she takes a step back. "All clear! Now to hand him over to the cops!" A beat. "Where //are// the cops anyway?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam point in the direction of the lights and sirens coming down the street. "It's Happy Harbor. They have like twelve cops, I think." Selfie doesn't seem needed. He grabs the villain by the collar. Go finish your business... I got this. Go see how you did." He almost leans in to give her another kiss but passes it off as a swat on the shoulder.

Irie West has posed:
Irie's eyes light up. "Oh! Right! Business! Selfie first!" She poses for the selfie, making sure to put rabbit ears up behind the Trickster, before zipping away to get changed out of her superhero clothes and zips back in her normal civvies with meet up with her driver instructor. "Sorry about that," she says. "There was the whole... you know... giant robot thing."

The instructor's only response is to raise a disapproving eyebrow.

"Yeah... okay..." Irie says getting back into the car. "Um. I guess back to the DMV?"

"Indeed, Ms. West. Mind the rubble."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam answers questions. Watches them handcuff the Trickster. Some police rope off the area around the robot and wait for SHIELD to come carry it out. The Trickster DEMANDS a cell with a tv to watch Svengoolie as he is carted away.

Shazam takes his leave and slips away. There is another boom, making people flinch and look towards the robot. Billy joins Irie and says, "Passed?"

Irie West has posed:
By the time Billy catches up to Irie, she's already been in the DMV and has processed her diving results. "Passed!" she beams, holding up her temporary license. "They're mailing me the real one! It should be in my PO Box in a couple of weeks! I can't wait!" She grins hugely, "Now Donna will teach me how to fly the T-Jet!"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy hugs Irie, spinning her around in what must be a yawn fest for her, he realizes, He sets her down and gives her a high five. "You gotta have faith in yourself! You're awesome. Mercury says you're great too. Gimme a kiss!"

Irie West has posed:
Irie can't help but giggle as she's spun around, and when ordered to give him a kiss, she does so, full on the lips. "MMmmmmmwaaah! Thanks for helping me out with everything! And tell Mercury I said 'thanks!'"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson blinks in surprise at the on the mouth smooch! He looks down at himself for a moment and takes stock. "Hunh. Still Billy. That kiss nearly made me change. At least it felt that way. You're welcome. It was fun. You want to get something to eat? I'm buying."
