Date of Scene: 05 December 2023
Location: American Museum of Natural History
Synopsis: Phoebe, SIngularity, and Sunny walk into the museum... Phoebe still doesn't know where the distinction between 'raise dead' and 'animate object' is for fossils.
Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Singularity, Sunny Harlow

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    The Museum of Natural History.

There is a question that Phoebe almost always poses to mages who she perceives as being stronger, more experienced and knowledgeable in the ways and wends of magic -- 'how much biological material has to remain in a fossil for it to be necromancy versus animate object?'

It's become something of a running joke for her to ask. She's never gotten an actual answer on it, not from Constantine, nor Zatanna, nor Atrun-Rai, Magik, Dr. Strange -- really most people just sort of stare at her a minute and then continue talking about whatever it was they were talking about before hand.

Incidentally, she isn't here on magic business, but as a 'celebrity escort' for some kids involved with the Gotham Childrens' Works.

And besides, it was fun to see a bunch of kids be excited about science, history, and dinosaur bones.

She was up in one of the upper galleries, keeping watchful eye over the groups below, her lips pursed as she leans over the railing, wearing sensible pumps and very business clothing. Such professional. Her pink hair was mostly hidden beneath a gray hair-wrap, though some of her pink curls are showing.

Singularity has posed:
Outside of the Planetarium is the figure of a young woman. We'll say young woman, because that's what she looks like - but she appears to be made out of the very fabric of the universe that she is currently looking at a picture of.

She's reading the information on the cue card, eyes wide in thought as she hmms softly. "It's mostly correct." she decides as she floats upwards and studies the picture and then looks at her own body, as if trying to match the designs with the ones that are contained within her.

When she hears the excited voices of children and their chaperone, the young woman turns and her expression is peppy and cheerful. And she greets them warmly. "Hello!" comes her warm rejoinder to the small group. "I am Singularity!" she points to a picture of a singulatrity. Not that she looks anything like that singularity, but she has the stars and galaxies within her as they move about within her starfield.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The cue card, alas, gives only regular Human understanding of singularities. Phoebe herself would have a hard time parsing some of the hard science behind it -- that was way more her brother's wheelhouse.

She was in fact momentarily distracted by a familiar form -- because really, how often do you meet *living Space Beings made of Space*, and her eyebrows draw up, her lips pursing as she leans forward to watch the interaction.

Soem of the kids, who are wearing T-shirts with smiley-face bat symbols and 'GOTHAM CHILDREN'S WORKS' on the back look up to Singularity, and then to the picture.

"... you're SPACE?!" one girl with braids asks, in a slight lisp, dark eyes going wide open as she looks up at Singularity with a sense of awe.

And then, like most kids would fearlessly -- she reaches up to poke Singularity's elbow!

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Where might an alien heroine go when she was feeling sentimental or nostalgic? Well...the planetarium seemed the right spot. Of course she'd never -been- to the planet of her people, having been raised entirely on Earth...so technically homesick was only as far as Happy Harbour and....alright, so she just thought that space was neat looking and stars were pretty. Sue her.

Hair down and her form wrapped in a pair of jeans and a off-the-shoulder top in black with an obnoxiously bright orange trim, Sunny was making her way into the 'Space space' when she caught the excited noises of the kids only to blink and...well, stare at Singularity.

Singularity has posed:
The curiosity of the children makes Singularity giggle. "I am a singularity." she explains, as if that explains everything that she could ever describe about herself. Which probably suggests how young she is as a being. She floats down a little lower to be closer to the children and gives Phoebe a wave in greetings, her eyes bright with white light.

Then she's poked and the girl looks down and smiles at the braids. "I should do my hair. Like that!" But she can work on that later. She misses when Nico played with her hair. It's a minor sense of longing of a universe -- a reality -- that no longer exists.

She's cool to the touch and she feels like she has no mass to her whatsoever, as that's her default setting. It's so much easier to be weightless! Also, as close as they are, the children can smell raspberries. She smells of raspberries and rum - but we won't go into the rum part with kids. She's just pleasant smelling.

Sunny is noticed, and she gives a wave to the statuesque woman. "I like your shirt!" she calls out, even if she just seems to forgo clothes. There's nothing that shows anyway - unless you count her innie belly button.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The girl gives a bright smile as she pokes at Singularity a second time! "I just poked SPACE!" she squeals out with fascination, and the kids crowd around Singularity to look at the pattern of stars and galaxies, and then giggle and run off as Sunny marks her approach, chanting out 'Space, Space, Space, Space!' with great amusement evident in their voices.

"It *is* a pretty cool shirt. Could I snap a pic? Where'd you get it from?" comes a voice that may sound familiarish to both Singularity and Sunny pipes up, and Phoebe makes her approach.

Of course, those used to being on Earth might recognize one of those useless celebrity socialites, Phoebe Wayne. She's wearing a Gotham Children's Works ribbon on her lapel, a pencil skirt, wool leggings and boots -- and her blouse beneath has dinosaur skulls. Thematic.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
The 'blonde bombshell' who pretty much radiated the vibes of her namesake rather than seduction looked up as she was addressed, clearly a little suprised and flushing a little at having been caught staring before she lifts a hand to absently brush against the garment. "Oh thanks!" she offers lightly before Phoebe's call out brings her gaze shifting and she laughs lightly. "I'd love to be a good design student and say I made it...but I got it at a department store in Metropolis."

Singularity has posed:
The voice sounds familiar. "Friend!" Singularity announces to Phoebe. But then remembers that Nightwing said that if they're not wearing a mask, don't use their pretendy fun time name. This keeps her from calling out 'Balm!' but it's clear the little blue universe recognizes the woman.

As the kids are chanting about space, she ponders and suggests. "They can come inside. See me. Inside?" Her suggestion to allow the kids to just step inside of her. "Safe. You can see." She's quite used to carrying people around inside of her.

"Will not teleport. Can stay here. But see Singularity." she explains. When Sunny comes over, Singularity smiles bright. "I am Singularity." she greets. "Want to see space?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I see you remember me." Phoebe gives a small smile to Singularity. It'd been... a while. She takes a breath out, and introduces herself "Phoebe Wayne. A pleasure to see you again, Singularity." she gives a grin, "But we might not wanna let the kids walk through you. Adults tend to get a little weird on that. And Gotham adults in particular tend to be very wary." she replies.

And then she turns to Sunny and gives a bright grin, and she plucks out a business card.

"If you're a design student who also produces clothing, I'm always on the look out for new items to wear for galas, events, and day-to-day. I like repping smaller makers, you know?" she gives a smile.

The card says PHOEBE A. WAYNE, and gives a Gotham City number and address. And on the back has a 'I have seeds! Plant me when you are finished!' text.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Enter her. See Stars. Sunny just sort of...stares for a moment, breaking only for a slow blink before she kinda speaks again. "Uh...I think I already can see space?" she comments, though Phoebe's words and introductions bring a little relief and she comes to take the card, tucking into her pockets with a smile. "Sure! I mean, networking is half the thing, right?"

Of course, half of the stuff she'd made of late was just replacing her own costume, since she didn't quite have access to the same super materials as others.

Singularity has posed:
There's a brief look of disppointment as noone takes up her offer. "Safe." Singularity reiterates, but she doesn't push further on the idea. Instead, she has her attention drawn between the interaction of the two women as she floats closer. "Friend Phoebe Wayne." She corrects her introduction of Balm from what it was to this new name she has been presented with.

And she turns to look at Sunny. "Friend?" she asks of her, because this is her way of getting people's names. And she probably looks like she wants to hug Sunny. But she's learned to slow down on that front as well. "Make things?" As she moves, the starfield changes and shifts with her, the movemenets controlling the universe that she contains.

"Did not mean to interrupt. Want to know what humans know. About space." Even if she, herself, is space. But like any other teenage girl, she has a lot to learn about herself!

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Networking is a good thing when you're always looking to one-up fashion designers." Phoebe confirms to Sunny with a grin. "I commissioned a gown for the Hellfire Halloween gala recently to match a tattoo I have, so I like really ridiculous challenges. As a head's up." she gives a grin to Sunny, and then gives a nod to Singularity.

"Yes, Phoebe Wayne -- but ah, just Phoebe's fine. I only really use the Wayne part if I'm doing Official Business or if I want a better table at a restaurant." she gives a smile to the space experiencing itself, and she glances around, and just sort of plops down to the ground, like it's just some informal meet up.
R    And hey, she's a teenager too.

"Humans know a fair bit about Space, and gosh you are so..." she lifts her hands up a moment "/Fascinating/ to look at." she finishes a moment, some of her pink hair bouncing as she moves.

"And our new friend here -- I'm so sorry, Miss Design Student, your name, please?" she gives a bright smile.

"Do either of you want anything to eat or drink?"

Sunny Harlow has posed:
"Amazing to look at," Sunny agrees with Phoebe's comment before looking back to the other woman with a grin at that warning of challenge. "You're talking to someone who does cosplay comissions as much as she does her actual assignments...I'm sure I'll be fine."

Still introductions were important and Sunny's arms cross casually under her bust as she offers a beaming smile. "I'm Sunny Harlow, pleasure to meet you Phoebe and...Singularity. Which is an awesome name by the way!" she adds, the last offered to the sentient space embodiment.

Singularity has posed:
"Just Phoebe!" Singularity corrects herself, as Phoebe is describing herself and gets a bit of a blank look. "Are you famous? Like hero?" This might be a breath of sunshine for Phoebe, because Singularity has no idea what a Wayne is and what that has to do with tables and business.

"Hi Sunny!" she greets the other girl. "You are both pretty!" Because she was told that was important once when making new friends. "I like my name too! Gave it to myself!"

There's the offer to eat and drink. "I do not need to. Eat or drink. Just exist. Friends want me to try. Never did before I left them." She folds her arms across herself in a mirror of Sunny's own - but it's nowhere near as impressive. "Here now. May try again."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Well. I was adopted by a businessman who is famous. I'm less of a hero unless you count being gently rebellious and directing funds towards kid care and rehabilitation of lesser offenders -- which means people who do really small bad things and get in trouble." Phoebe replies, trying to simplify why the Wayne thing would be important.

Nevermind her 'night work' and occasional forays into the afterlife. Helping to block floodwaters from broken dams.

"That must be nice to just exist. I don't even get a vacation to do that." Phoebe gives a small grin, and she looks back to Sunny.

"Awesome, because I also love Cosplay. I've done Sailor Moon a couple of times."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
"I was Sailor Venus for Halloween!" Sunny offers brightly, clearly excited by the shared interest but at least managing to stop herself from delving into photographs...probably because many of them contained her ex, but well...being bulletproof didn't make relationships that much easier.

"And that is kinda the definition of heroic isn't it? Using things to help people in need?" she asks of Phoebe before the mention/offer of food has her blinking and shrugging her one mostly bare shoulder. "Sure, I mean...if you're offering."

Singularity has posed:
"Thought you were already hero." Singularity says in confusion, gesturing around to all of the children that Phoebe is watching over. "Caretaker. Important." she explains as her reasoning.

Nico will never be considered Singularity's ex. Just her first 'feel' that is hopefully happy in the reality that she is in with her other friends.

But with Sunny taking up the offer of the food, the young universe smiles brightly. "I should go. You two. Have fun. Nice to meet you." Unfolding her arms, she starts to open a portal above her, a swirl of blue and periwinkle that swirls and expands, becoming large enough for her to fit through comfortably. If one looks close, you can see the wormhole opening on the other side near Times Square.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe could say a thing or two on superhero relationships.

And she opens her mouth a moment, turning to Singularity to suggest that maybe she's a little bit of a hero, with a wink, but instead Singularity is taking her leave. She gives a warm smile, and jokes: "Well, maybe if I put on a mask, I'll be an even bigger hero." she jokes gently to acknowledge their previous meeting.

And she raises her hand to bid farewell to Singularity. "We'll meet again!" she calls back to her, and then rubs the back of her neck as she looks at the wormhole opening at Times Square.

"Oh, that is /so cool/." she whispers to herself, and she looks to Sunny, and then points to the wormhole "That would be the coolest way to arrive to a gala. Just saying."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Sunny on the other hand had been dumped by text, met some great friends and fallen for two of them...only to run into the hurdle that they were dating each other and accidently add to the confusion. Superhero relationships for Sunny were as much a hopeless mess as she could be. Still, she'd trail off with a tilt of her head and a blink at the portal.

So cool. What was flying when you could just portal around? No risk of breaking things with an over-excited sonic boom.

"I mean, coolest way to arrive anywhere, right?"

Singularity has posed:
"See you later!" Singularity agrees with a bright and brilliant smile. She just exudes hope and innocence and despite the fact that she's made of stars, she just wants to shine as bright as a sun as she slips into the portal and it /blips/ and she pops out of existance.

*POP!*

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I dunno. I have an orange Porsche, and that's pretty cool..." Phoebe trails off, and then flails an arm dramatically "But Starshine Galactic Wormhole is *so much cooler!*" she whispers as she breathes out in a huff, fixing her skirt a bit.

"So, student, huh?" she asks, hopping to her feet and offering Sunny a hand up. "Where do you go?"
