Date of Scene: 09 December 2023
Location: Molly and Vivian's Apartment
Synopsis: Singularity stops by to visit some old friends. Molly enjoys junk food. And Viv prepares to draw an entire universe. Hopefully she has a lot of paper in her sketchbook!
Cast of Characters: Vivian Vision, Molly Hayes, Singularity

Vivian Vision has posed:
Of the many reasons Vivian Vision has so far avoided committing to any sort of college course pursuing her art is the main one. What better way to learn about Humanity than to create art about Humans in the most Human way she can? Other than get herself turned into a Human. But everyone knows that's how your former non-Human body turns evil and winds up trying to kill you.

So maybe an idea for later.

But it has other perks too! It's a good way to hang out with friends and chat. They model. She draws. Conversations are had. And everyone has a fun time... At least hopefully they do.

It's also an excuse to play hostess. Cooking snacks and nibbles. Preparing mocktails or, if appropriate, actual cocktails!

And if her guests turns out not to need food or drink? Well her roomie can always finish things off.

Today Viv has set up her easel in the main living space of the apartment. Her own room filled with props and garments for use as costumes. To be used as necessary. And she's got a selection of her sketch books out on display in case her model wants to look at her prior work.

Molly Hayes has posed:
Molly Hayes doesn't know very much about art. She likes museums and she likes pretty things and things that look cool and that's about all she knows about art. She does know about Cheet-Os, however, judging by the fact that's she's on her second bag today and at least halfway through.

She's on the couch upside down, her head on the cushions, her back against the back and her legs randomly shoved up in the air. She's barefoot in a pair of shorts and a tank top, her hair in pigtails. She wrinkles her freckled nose as she sucks some of the cheese dust from her fingers.

"Singularity's pretty cool. I didn't even know you, like, knew her," she says to her thankfully level-headed roommate.

Singularity has posed:
When Vivian had invited Singularity over, she was already curious - but when she learned that Molly lived with Vivian, that perked her interest further. She remembered the little power house with the extremely cute hat. She wasn't sure what to bring over, but at the same time, she still is working on that whole money thing.

So it will be a no to bringing over anything. She has learned some things. As the portal opens up - it's outside of Vivian and Molly's door, so she just doesn't teleport directly into the apartment because that could be awkward!

Once she blips in, the young universe looks herself over - something she had picked up from watching humans - and she lifts her hand to knock at the door and wait patiently to be allowed to enter.

Vivian Vision has posed:
"It's open!" Vivian says brightly. How does she know it's their guest outside? Wireless doorbell camera. Ideal for knowing who is visiting even when she's half the world away. Not to mention it makes it way harder for super villains to ambush her or Molly. She glances over to Molly. "I was actually there when she first arrived on this planet. And she visits GIRL from time to time."

She frowns.

"I know lots of people through the various teams and groups I help out with. Also because I don't really have to work for money I can just... you know... live a bohemian artists life."

She's busy sharpening her pencils when Singularity enters and motions around the apartment. "Please feel free to make yourself at home! If you want to have food or drink please do." Can Singularity eat? She isn't entirely sure. Perhaps GIRL has a file stating the answer but it would be rude to peek.

Molly Hayes has posed:
Molly Hayes nods, "Believe me, I'm forever grateful you don't have to work for money. That's why you let me live with you even though I don't have much of a job or income, outside of the occasional temporary gig or the tiny pennies I get occasional from advertising on my Instagram," she laughs.

She rolls over, though, and sits up like a person and not a superstrong girl with a gremlin's personality. She beams cheerfully at the arriving Singularity, "Hey, it's been a while! Welcome to our humble abode. Do you...want some snacks? I guess you don't really eat, huh? Do I need to eat? I'm not sure. I've never tried NOT eating. I like to eat. I don't wanna think about it. Hi. Welcome."

Singularity has posed:
Instead of opening the door, Singularity just blips through. A short teleport from one side to the other. When she *pops* into existance, she smiles brightly at the pair of women. "Hello!" she greets brightly. "It is good to see you both!" With that, she makes her way over - because hugs are to be given. It's the only gift she can afford after all. One first to Molly, a cool embrace that is still affectionate, before she pulls back after a couple of moments to repeat the motion with Vivian, if they allow.

With that done, she floats backwards towards the table and couch. "I do not require. Food or drink. But I was suggested to try more things. To understand what it means to be human." So she picks up one of the snacks and eats it - her light blue tongue poking out for a moment. "Good!" she says happily.

Then there's her curiosity as she looks at all the art gear set about. "I'm excited." she admits. "People usually take pictures of me. Noone usually asks to draw me!"

Vivian Vision has posed:
The selection of home made snacks is varied. When preparing for guests who are 'exotic' Vivian tends to go wide on choices. Savoury & sweet. Healthy and junk food. A little of everything. It'll all get eaten in the end. Even if convincing Molly to eat salad instead of chips is harder than battling super villains...

"Drawing is... Well it's interpretive," she explains. Accepting & returning the hug. "I could easily create photo realistic images and my eyes function as cameras. But I try to create art in a Human way. Putting a little of how I see you into the drawings. Rather than just capturing a literal still image. If you'd like you can check out some of my previous work before we start? It'll give you an idea of what being a model entails."

Indeed the selection of sketchbooks have all sorts of poses, costumes and themes in them!

Her attention turns back to Molly and she laughs softly. "We both know you spend most of your money on jetpack fuel anyway." And fixing things damaged in jetpack related incidents. "I'd have assumed you need to eat more than a normal person to fuel your mutant abilities? We can test it out in the lab if you really want..."

Molly Hayes has posed:
Molly Hayes hops up on the arm of the couch, perching to get ready to watch Vivian at work. "Vivian's always takin' pictures. Her eyes are like cameras and she records everything. I mean, we all do, but most of us can't upload our visual memories onto somebody else's computer," she says. "You know that phrase 'god in the machine'? She's like, the goddess of the machine. It's cool. I'm just strong and tough, she's like...super duper."

She grins at mention of her jet pack, "I'm pretty good at using it now! Except the stopping part. I always kind of end up crashing, which is okay, except that I'm like a big bullet and I break stuff when I land. Stuff other than me."

"Anyway, I dunno how much eating is normal. But I do eat a lot. But, like, I feel like I'm still growing."

Singularity has posed:
There is a lot for Singularity to sample. And it's probably for the best. Because no matter how much she eats, her weight will never change. Well, unless she want it to. Then it will. Universes can be really light, or really heavy.

But now she is picking up books to look through. So many sketches as she takes in what the human anatomy is supposed to look like and she gives a quiet oh of consideration. She had based her form off what a fully clothed woman would look like as a late teen. Now that she was getting a good look at what the nude form is, she is starting to get an understanding.

When they mention Molly and her jetpack fuel, the young universe looks up. "I could teleport her!" she offers helpfilly. "That way she could port and punch and port and punch!" That is her very unhelpful if eager suggestion, before she pops in something savory to try it and deems it good. Of course, most everything probably tastes good to her.

"How would you." Singularity finally asks as she sets one of the books down and her hands settle in her lap. "Like to draw me?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
"We'll find a pose that you're comfortable with and that captures your essence," Vivian explains brightly. Fighting the urge to blush at Molly's compliments. "I've got a lot of props and costume options you can look through if you want. Take your time to see what sort of poses people have tried. See if anything inspires you!"

There's certainly a fairly broad selection of models. Some Humans, some metahumans, mutants and aliens. Some are professionals and some are total amateurs. A few are couples posing together. She's even drawn her roomie more than a few times.

"Teleporting is more efficient but then you'd have to be with her all the time. The jetpack has the advantage of being usable even when Molly is off on her solo adventures." Or as Viv calls it (in her head at least) getting into mischief... Still you can't argue with results and her room-mate has certainly saved plenty of people!

"At the end of the day the most important thing is for you to feel comfortable and have fun."
