Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer loves a good holiday bash! Even if it's way too damn cold out for the Florida girl's taste.

Still, she's here for the holiday shopping and the food vendors... and maybe she'll even try her luck with the ice skating! Today sees Jenn bundles up in a wool peacoat over a simple thermal tee with a pair of worn hiphugger jeans tucked into a pair of older hiking boots. She hasn't bothered with a hat, but she has gloves to keep her fingers warm! The loose curls stream over her shoulders nearly to her hips as she wanders the rows of vendors and temporary shops.

She has a steaming disposable cup of cocoa in one hand that she sips from as she idly browses storefronts, looking for a last minute Christmas present.

Miles Morales has posed:
A good holiday bash!?

What's not to like?

Miles Morales is out here today, dressed in a thicker coat and baggier pants to account for the cold. While he was never much for shopping, Miles finds himself at the edge of the skating rink, eyes widened with joy and mirth. "Wow...you know, I think I could give that shot. Unless I slip and break a leg. Literally. Ugh." Miles shakes his head, chuckling a little bit to himself. Though for a moment, he turns his head.

And he sees her.

A woman he doesn't know but with fashionable wear and old hiking boots! "Woah." Miles says softly to himself. But eventually...he manages to find some courage. He looks at the rink, then back to her. Then to the skating rink, and back to her.

So he turns away from what he was lookin at and instead, he seems to find himself walking towards the stalls..."Hi there!" Miles says in friendly greeting. "Enjoying the shops so far?"

God above, Miles, can you be ANY more awkward.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Sipping on her cocoa, Jenn pauses in front of a shopfront that sells all manner of winter-themed clothing, checking out some of the 'ugly Christmas sweaters' with a chuckle. Turning away, she looks around again and starts back on her path towards the skating rink, making a mental note to swing by the shop again before she leaves.

At first she assumes that the call out is meant for someone else. But when nobody responds, she glances around until she spots Miles, who seems to be watching... her! "Oh! Uh, hey there. Yeah, I'm jes' checkin' out th' shops, seein' if I can find a last minute gift fer someone." She offers a smile and motions with her cup towards him, "What 'bout yerself? Enjoyin' th' fun? This is my first time at th' Winter Village.. didn't realize jes' how much there was t' do round here."

She finishes off her cocoa and glances around for a trash can, spotting one a little way off. Casting a quick glamour, Jenn tosses the cup towards the bin, and it improbably, impossibly.. sails right into the bin. Miles will likely be able to tell that that was a 1 in a million shot. It should never have made it to the trashcan!

Miles Morales has posed:
Oh! She's friendly!

Miles wasn't expecting that. Honestly, he was expecting a 'shove off, dude' and she goes on her merry way. Yet all the same, Miles seems friendly in return. A kindness in his eyes as he approaches. "Hey, nice! Who you shopping for, if you don't mind my asking?' She's gonna say boyfriend, probably. Which is /totally/ okay if that's the case! But as he looks at her, he meets her smile with one of his own and he gives a shrug. "Maybe I can help you out? I'm just kinda exploring and enjoying the festivities down here, you know?" He seems to remember something though. "I'm Miles, by the way. First time you said? Man, you picked a good day to be down here!"

A little bit of a laugh. "So much to do. There's an ice rink down there I'll probably break my leg trying to ice skate in. There's vendors all over the place, food too." He smiles, then his eyes widen as she just throws her cup towards the bin. "Woah...how the heck did you manage that?" His Spider-Sense doesn't go off, so no danger. But...damn, that was a 1 in a million shot!

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Offering a sheepish smile, Jennifer shrugs, "Boyfriend. Or... at least, I'm hopin' he is. We ain't really labelled anythin' yet, but..." She grins. "Anyways, tryin' t' find somethin' fer 'im that ain't too presumptuous but will still be somethin' he likes." She gives a nod to his question and smiles, "That'd be great, thanks! I was thinkin' I'd try t' find 'im somethin' special from West Side Story, or maybe another great Broadway show. He really loves 'em."

Holding a hand out towards him, she offers, "Jennifer. Nice t' meetcha!" She glances around and grins, "That so? I heard bout it from some of th' girls at work, figured I'd come check it out. Mebbe try out th' ice skatin' if I got brave enough." Looking towards the bin, she grins, "Lucky shot, I guess... I ain't really a math whiz or nothin'..."

Miles Morales has posed:
Ah well.

Just friends then!

"Well you seem like a nice lady. I'd get him cracking on the paneling part so you don't get your heart broke yeah?" Miles then catches himself. "Aaaand it's none of my business. Sorry." He clears his throat, before taking her hand in a firm shake. "Nice to meet you, Jennifer! What do you do for work? I'm a full-time student." He chuckles somewhat nervously.

God he's horrible at this.

"But I think we can find something Broadway-ish for them." He smirks. "Well if you're feeling brave, maybe I can lean on you so I don't immediately fall over. As for that shot? WAY more than lucky. I think you had better odds of winning the Powerball." He laughs a little.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer chuckles and shakes her head, "Nah, he's a good sort, an' I know he cares. We're jes' gettin' t' th' point of gettin' serious, so I'm not pressin' for nothin' til he's ready. He's worth waitin' for." She motions towards the shops, "If we can't, then I'm gonna be worried if I can find anythin' in th' whole city... there's a ton of shops here!"

"OH, uh, I dance. At Sugardaddy's." Because that will make things any less ocmplicated or strange! She's a stripper talking to some guy about her boyfriend's Christmas present.

RTucking her hands back into her pockets, she glances towards the ice rink and grins, "Yeah, sure. I got pretty good balance, I think I can make it work." Then she's lifting a shrug and offers a quick grin, "I live in New York City, I barely make enough t' cover rent an' stuff, let alone t' waste on lottery. Not enough luck in th' world t' even those odds."

Miles Morales has posed:
"Hey if he's a good egg, he's a good egg! What do I know?" Miles chuckles a little, big smile painted on his face. "I hope it turns out ok! And don't sweat, these shops literally have everything. Souvenirs, Drinks, plaques...pretty sure I saw a sighed violin here one time. Never know what treasures you're gonna find."

Oh she dances! "Hey cool." Exotically. "Ohhh." Small pause. "Hey no judgment, we all gotta make a living." Miles shrugs and offers her that same warmth he had before.

He looks briefly at the rink. "It's mocking me." Hd chuckles, looking at Jennifer. "Alright. Got my back I got yours." He offers he a fist bump. "Yeah, it's a tough town. But if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. Which means you could totally win the lottery."

He lifts his shoulders. "Just sayin'."

He starts to walk. "So where you from, Jennifer? You got a cool accent.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
"I'm sure it will. He's been nothin' but sweet an' nice an' carin'." Jennifer pauses, then clears her throat and smiles, "But I'm runnin' on, an' I'm sure ya don't need t' hear bout it. Anyways, I'm sure I'll find somethin' here. Like ya said, there's all kindsa stuff here."

Laughing lightly, she shakes her head, "Hey, I ain't ashamed. I'm damn good at what I do. I ain't got money or connections t' go t' a real dance school, so I do what I can. An' I make some *real* good money doin' it." Jennifer exudes a level of self-confidence that might normally border on arrogance if not for the open warmth she also exudes.

Moving towards the rink, she tilts her head towards it and smiles, "Ready t' take on th' ice? Can't be any worse'n th' swamps back home. Moss on a log in July is slicker'n, well.. I figure if I can keep my balance there, I can handle some ice."

Snorting softly, Jenn grins at him, "Nah, I don't need th' lottery. I get by jes' fine as is." Glancing sidelong at him, she chuckles, "Florda. Th' Everglades. My family's been there fer... a long long time."

Miles Morales has posed:
It's nice to see people happy. Miles loves seeing smiles on peoples faces, whether it's pride in a work that some folks might judge poorly of or whether it's a boy or whether it's just being in a place and having a good time, it didn't matter. Joy matters.

People matter.

"Confidence is key." Both to her dancing and to finding something here that her beau might like. "Heh, I wouldn't know." Miles CERTAINLY isn't the type to visit clubs, but he's happy she's happy about it.

Miles steps with Jennifer towards the ice and he finds himself whistling. "Ooohhh boy. I dunno Jenn, it's looking like it's gonna knock me on my face." Miles chuckles, before he turns to Jennifer properly. "Ready as I'll ever be, I guess." A small pause. "Wait, you grew up in a swamp?"

THE swamp, evidently!

"You should watch 'where the crawdads sing'. Great movie.?And fair enough! I'm from Brooklyn. Well...let's get some skates on and hope I don't die."
