Cast of Characters: Yaretzi Acama, Damian Wayne

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
It was Damian's idea that he should get a tour of Yaretzi's 'home turf'. "Just in case he might need to do some work there, or help Eagle out with work there, someday". At least, that's how her mind paraphases it, 'cause Damian himself wouldn't say it like that. Maybe? What's it matter, anyway, 'cause she agreed, but insisted on not, at least not yet, showing him where she actually lives.

So it is that, once she's gotten out of classes for the day at the local community college, that she's walking into Patsy's Pizzeria, where she's suggested they could meet up at about this time.

Damian Wayne has posed:
The actual idea was for Damian to get to know some of the other Titans better - one of his resolutions - make better inroads with those of his peerage. When Yaretzi enters the pizzeria, there is already someone sitting at a table.

Dressed down, he's in a comfortable grey hoodie with a black denim jacket over it. Blue jeans, and a pair of tennis shoes on his feet. And the ever present wrap-around sunglasses that hide his eyes.

Rising up when she arrives, he gives a little wave of greeting to get her attention, and remains that way until she makes her way to his corner table, that overlooks the window outside.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Patsy's isn't busy, not for dining-in, anyway -- which is usual for a place that does most of its business via delivery. Yaretzi lets the door close behind herself and heads over to where the hooded boy wonder... the hood wonder?... the hoodie wonder?... anyway, to where Damian's sitting at, even as her mind wanders a bit.

"Heya", she offers by way of greeting. "Hope you weren't waiting too long?" She pulls her backpack off her shoulders and sets it onto a chair, but isn't yet sitting herself down. "I'm gonna get a slice and some DP", she adds, gesturing towards the counter.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"I've already ordered a pepperoni and a pitcher." Damian offers with a small little smile, as he retakes his own seat, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the pizzeria. "How've you been, Yaretzi?" he asks her with a smile.

Not that he has presented her with an option of a name to call him yet as he sets his gloved hands on the table. No need to leave fingerprints. "You didn't keep me waiting long." he promises with a tug on his lips of a smile and glances at the backpack. "Classes going okay?"

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"Oh", replies Yaretzi.... and then sits down. "I've been okay... but how'd you know pepperoni and Dr Pepper's my usual, here?", she wonders, letting the question about her classes go by without an immediate answer. Once she's seated, she pulls off her gloves, stuffing them into her jacket's pockets before half-rising to remove the jacket and hang it on the back of the chair her pack's sitting on.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Pepperoni's an educated guess." Damian offers, as he goes over his deductive reasoning. "The most commonly used topping on a pizza. So, I had assumed you would enjoy it as well. We'll be getting enough of it when Irie introduces her new beau." he explains.

Now, for the drink. He gestures towards the various advertisements on the wall. "This establishment has put Dr. Pepper first and foremost as it's most offered drink after it's beer offerings." he explains. "Neither of us are old enough to drink, so I went with the house option." A small smile. "So, in all. A lucky guess."

"Anyway, if you want..." he extends his hand to her. "Robin. You can call me Robin. My mother was lucky enough to be one of the many that were rescued by the Dynamic Duo when she was carrying me." It's a truth hiddden within a lie.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi, knowing who Damian actually is (at least as much as a superhero geek like her could know), can't help but grin and lift a hand to her mouth to stifle a giggle at his introduction... then, hurriedly because she didn't mean to ignore it, reaches out to accept the offered handshake. She doesn't know all the truth behind the fiction given, but clearly finds it humorous in some respect.

"I heard about Irie's boyfriend going by this weekend. I'm hoping I can make it by in time to meet him", she says, quietly. "I got the feeling that not many of the group like him much. I hope he doesn't feel unwelcome."

Damian Wayne has posed:
Most of the Titans know that the various Robins (past and this present) are part of the group, so Damian is only acknowledging that he is a Robin - which in costume, he totally looks like one. Not to mention, he's planning on taking the name back.

"I doubt I'll be there myself." he admits. "I am not much for social situations, unlike those that were before me." Except maybe Jason. Jason was probably worse. "I think I would be awkward with the idea and will probably take a patrol instead."

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"All the more reason you *should* go, I should think", Yaretzi says, then smiles past 'Robin' as she looks towards the counter. "Hey, I think that's ours they're bringing out", she says, rising out of her seat as she makes to go get it. She glances at the table as she rises, too, "We've got parm, already, but I'll get us a pepper shaker, too", she comments.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"That's fine." he offers cheerfully, though Damian saves his response for when Yaretzi returns with the pizza and drinks. As she sets them down, he waits for her to settle, and lets her pull the first slice.

"I don't really agree with that." he finally comments, a soft puff of breath in explanation. "I do not have a strong emotional attachment to the Titans." he explains. "I am not sure if I would ever find something that... such as Irie is doing, introducing her romantic interest. I tried that recently, but..." He chews on the inside of his mouth. "With that no longer there, I would not want to interfere." By now the story is out that Gabby and him broke up and she's well out of town.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi isn't shy about taking the first slice, though she did make sure to offer over one of the paper plates that came with the order. She's already shaking parm, then pepper flakes, from the shakers onto her slice as he continues to speak... and pouts a little. "You gonna be okay? Ain't ever heard of a breakup that's easy on everyone involved", she asks, quietly. She sets the seasoning shakers down where they're in easy reach, in case he wants some for himself.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"It was amicable. She had things she needed to do. I think our relationship was a little... too normal?" Damian shrugs his shoulders. "I don't really do well at it, I guess." Accepting the paper plate, he pulls one of the slices to season with parm and pepper flakes.

"How about you? Anyone caught your attention?" he asks, trying to pull the attention off of him and learn something about her.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"No, not really. Kinda been too busy with school and... my part time gig to think about that kinda thing, really", she says. Then, just before taking her first bite from the slice she momentarily holds in one hand as she uses the other to gesture vaguely in the air, rolls her eyes as she adds, "...and I don't really wanna deal with having to tell my parents I have a boyfriend. I think they'd freak out or something!" With both hands, then, supporting the slice, she takes a big bite from it.

Damian Wayne has posed:
There's a light chuckle of amusement, "By that statement, I assume that they know about your side job?" Damian asks curiously between bites. "Judgining from your reaction to the recording, I assume it's a generational gift in your family and apparently, at some point, you will find someone to pass it to?" he suggests. "Was it your abuela that you received it from, seeing as it follows the female line of the family tree."

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi shakes her head, quickly. When her mouth's clear of the food she'd just put into it, she says, "No! They don't know!", she says, then leans back, blinking her eyes, her whole facial expression one of surprise, with some suspicion flowing in as she puts her slice down on her place. "No... it wasn't my grandma. ..and it wasn't... well, it was kinda 'me' in the recording, but it wasn't at the same time", she says, thinking about the recording of Golden Eagle, who looked then exactly as she does these days.

"It's not limited to women...", she adds, after a quick glance around to make sure no one's listening in -- and finds the place still mostly-empty of customers. "Probably shouldn't talk about that here", she says behind a napkin she uses to wipe at her lips.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Right, of course. Pardon my curiosity." Damian admits quietly, a note of apology in his tone in his voice as he considers her. "So you believe that it has made you immortal, in a way?" he asks her curiously. But he forces himself to drop the subject for now. They can talk about this later.

There's a light clearing of his throat. "So. As you know. There are several Robins. Past and present. It is not the same thing that you may be going through. But I can relate to having to live up to the past deeds." he offers to her helpfully.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi shakes her head in reply to that question, too, reaching for her slice once again. "No... she's immortal, but I'm not. I'll hafta pass it on, eventually, like how it came to me", she says, taking a bite. As she chews, she nods her head to his question. She mumbles, around her food, something that sounds like, "You're third...? ...or fourth?", as she thinks about it.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Fourth." Damian offers. "And eventually, in time, there will be a Robin after me. I have no allusions that the war on crime in Gotham will end in my lifetime." he explains quietly. "All I can do is attempt to make it easier to transition to the next."

At least, that's the scenario he's laying out, trying to find some mutual ground to share as he considers her. "I'm sure you would like to make sure the next Eagle does not have things... as troublesome as you have?"

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"Well, I don't even have a clue about 'the next one', yet, anyway. Just gotta live my own life best I can right now", is Yaretzi's reply to that thought. "I kinda don't wanna think about all that, just yet, too. It was really cool to find out about it all, when it came to me, but... it was also a sad time for me", she adds, before continuing to eat.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Do you want to talk about it?" Damian asks, taking a bite from the pizza, finishing off his current slice and starts on another. "I know that there are those that have had tragic backstories, from the Titans to my own 'family', as it were."

A small smile. "I may not have had it so bad, but I'm a pretty good listener."

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi shakes her head. "It wasn't really tragic, just sad", she clarifies. "Besides... you'd hafta convince me to talk more about me, if you wanna hear more. I haven't really heard you say anything about you, yet", she adds, momentarily sticking her tongue out before taking a sip of her drink.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"In my defense, you have yet to ask a single question." Damian points out when she sticks out her tongue, and there's a small smirk. There's another bite from his question. "I could just keep grilling you with questions, if you perfer."

His shoulders roll in a shrug. "Going to tell me what you're studying? I assume that you are not in high school, despite how young you look like this. I'd guess community college? First year?"

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"Yeah, first year", Yaretzi replies, though she pouting about being called out on not asking any questions. "Just taking basics, so far. How about you? In school... and what -is- your name?", she asks as she reaches for her third slice.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"I was given heavy schooling when I was young." Damian allows. "I already hold a degree in three seperate fields." Another bite of his pizza and he reaches for a sip of his drink. He draws from it, setting it back down. But it's only a small sip. Apparently he does not do much when it comes to soda.

And she will notice that there's a small pile of pepperoni on his plate that has gone untouched.

"I told you my name." he points out to her.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"No you didn't", Yaretzi counters, sticking her tongue out at him. "... why'd you order pepperoni if you don't wanna eat it?", she then asks, not giving him time to reply, as if she didn't care or is just leaving it to him to decide to double-down on 'Robin' or give into her suggestion that he lied about that. She does, though, reach out to try and nab one of the uneaten pepperoni slices for herself.

Damian Wayne has posed:
"I'm a vegeterian." Damian responds, and just as she's pressing him on the name thing, there's a chime from his pocket. Taking it out, he frowns. This has lasted longer than he thought. Not that it was a bad thing. "I should leave to head on patrol." he explains to Yaretzi, pulling out his wallet. There's no sign of identification there as he sets a twenty down for the tip. "Take the rest of it home. And have a good evening." With that, he's heading towards the door.
