Cast of Characters: Ben Grimm, Kate Kane, Greer Grant

Ben Grimm has posed:
Its the perenial poker night, played in a basement of a pub off Yancy Street. Ben moves the game around a bit and had taken a break but felt it was time to start things up again. A large number of valentines cupcakes sat on a table in one corner of the room, "Got a ton of those things," he said, "So tonight I'm up for cash or cupcakes as the currency of the realm." He began to deal the cards after shuffling them considerably.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman grins under the cowl, showing up in costume as she always does for these things. Because, well, she's a Bat. Must be a Gotham thing. But she does bring cash and tends to spot the more strapped-for-money folks. And in this case, she says, "Well, despite not having any Bat-Cupcakes in my utility belt, Mister Grimm... I vote cupcakes. If nothing else it'll motivate me to parkour around a few more buildings back in Gotham." Her lips quirk in a bit of a wider smile, as she has her gloves off, fingernails painted black as she shuffles the deck.

Greer Grant has posed:
Tigra has shown up in, well, her bikini, maybe that count as a costume. Because, well, she's a cat. "I'm good with either. At least with cupcakes we can make dollars to doughnuts jokes. Sort of. Or there's always cheesecake, I suppose." She then takes a bit from one of her 'chips'. "Mm. These're good."

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm doesnt judge costume, Cap came that way about half the time; sometimes people came right in after the job, so it was a given, and over the years Thing adapted. He began to deal the cards,"Cupcakes it is then, white represents one cupcake, red means five, yes I did check the number of chps to cupcakes; we're good in that department...aces high." He will definitely not complain about the bikini. He considers, "I execize to stay strong but rocks dont get fat...at least not yet....." he shudders at the mere idea. Some benefits to his situation to be sure and deals the cards and sits down. Eh. Thi s was gonna be a bluffin hand.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman hrms at her hand, giving it a once-over as she nods. The thing about a cowl is that it did make getting a read on when she was bluffing a bit harder to manage. She absently tapped a nail onto the table, "Well, I just bounce around rooftops for a living, so it does keep me slim. Can't imagine it'd be a popular workout regimen for most though." She grins, and places one white cupcake in the center, "Let's open it up, shall we?" Her eyes flicker over to Tigra, and her smile grows a bit wider as she approves of the costume choice.

Greer Grant has posed:
Tigra looks thoughtful a moment as she considers fat rocks. "Would that be like making mountains of molehills?" she muses, and then shakes her head. "No, that doesn't work." She antes up and then leans back a bit. If she notices the attention she...oh heck, she notices the attention, and enjoys it, though at least isn't smug about it. She's a cat, but one with class. "Superhuman genetics and the Avengers gym does it for me," she notes. "And this day and age, you never know, might make a fortune pitching rooftop running as an exercise craze. The next crossfit."

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm says, "If you guys could see the crazy business schemes people come to us with; mostly stretch, they know I'm not gonna put up with it, but we all get some and wow....magic rocks...to one of the most prominent scientists in the world...gonna start a business w magic rocks..." he chuckles and adds a cupcake of his own, he doesnt bat an eye at turning the chips into the real adible deal and over the years uses chips for a reason, internally betting with himself at how long it is before people start eating their bets. He suspects not long. He sips a beer and then listens, wanting to lean back but no chair will die this night.

"It could be a fun one though if you spun it right"

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman laughs, "Well, I did try to convince the Riddler to go legit with a series of escape rooms, but I think he thought I was mocking him instead." She shrugs, and gives Tigra a wink, "I'm pretty familiar with the escapades of cats in Gotham, for the record." She idly studies her hand a moment, then calmly says, "Alright, I'll call."

Greer Grant has posed:
"Magic rocks are something you see all over the place in some areas. That's just crystals," Tigra mentions, considering her cards. "I mean, sure there -are- magic rocks, but the ones that are being peddled, those aren't magic. Magic ones are too valuable to sell, usually." A flick of her tail and she puts down her cards. "I'm out." A glance over at Batwoman. "I've heard there's a bit of crossover between bats and cats there."

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm says, "Hey, now I gotta admit, I always heard neat things about that guy's deathtraps....like, real pinache...and if I'd give the guy a shake, anyone would. Damn shame he had his head up his behind ther." He ups the ante with another cupcake since, you know, poker. He puts down his cards as well and pretends he wasnt bluffing and is instead just nonchallant. He smiles to Greer, "The day I meet a wizard name Glen Kitchthap is the day I will buy a magic rock from him..." he chuckles, ""

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman grimaces slightly, "Oh don't joke about that, I'm sure we'll have the Kitschmaster show up before too long. We have the Condiment King, after all." She does grin as takes the cupcakes into her possession, "The rest of the Birds will be happy that I'm bringing home cupcakes I suspect. And yes, there's a /lot/ of crossover between bats and cats in Gotham. You should come visit sometime." With that, she gives Greer a surprisingly saucy wink, considering she's wearing her cowl.

Greer Grant has posed:
"It's a shame when it's the bad guys that have style, isn't it?" Tigra muses at Ben. "I mean, you've got him, just as one example. Doom, megalomaniac that he is, still has a certain charisma to him, as another." She leans back in her chair a bit, no worries about stressing hers. "Course, then on our side, you've got someone like Cap who's got charisma galore." She looks over at Kate, wryly amused at the wink. "Oh should I?" she asks. "I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes there."

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm says, "Not my circus, not my gatos...." he smiles about Gatos...he's got enough problems with the Negative Zone, Outer Space, The Earth, Anywhere at Random and Yancy Street......he dosnt need MORE trouble to boot. Batman and Co has that covered. He begins dealing another round of cards.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman grins, "Well, I wouldn't complain..." She chuckles at Tigra, and shrugs over at Ben, "Besides, between Avengers and Justice League and everything else, I swear I'm the Bat that's on all the teams. Amazed that you guys in the Four haven't asked me on as a backup." She does, however, decide to take a bite out of some of her winnings. Because hey, winners keepers.

Greer Grant has posed:
Tigra pics up her cards, tail swishing idly behind her as she looks them over. "I'll keep that in mind," she says to Batwoman, with a grin, and now a flick of her tail. She antes up for the hand. "Well, if you're able to help folks, then more power to you, when it comes to all the teams."

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm says, "We've got a wide open door so you guys ar ewelcome to come by and hang any time, " he smiles, "We're always about coordinateing with the community and you guys are as solid as any. And absolutely agreed about teams and such" he looks at his hand....are the yancy kids rigging the cards? They cant be....they're in his head these days... he rubs his eyes and looks at the others, "Fold." That wasnt even something he was gonna bluff with."

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman grins, "Hey, I love being on both teams, it reminds me of being back at the Academy. Save that they won't punt me for liking girls." She chuckles and looks at her cupcake, then slides an unbitten one into the center, "Alright, let's open this, just the two of us."

Greer Grant has posed:
"Some parts more solid than others," Tigra says with a grin to Ben. "Appreciate that invite, though. I'll have to take you up on it. Be nice to come by and see everyone." She looks over at Batwoman's bet and considers her cards a moment. "Both teams, hmm?" she asks. "Which Academy?" That one's a more natural question. "If you're comfortable saying." She sees the bet. "Call."

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm smiles, "Always welcome" he sips more of his beer and watches. He makes a mental note that if he uses cup cakes again to set aside a dealiers reserve. He also really looks at his cards, trying ro figure out if they were jinxed or marked or greased.

Kate Kane has posed:
Batwoman reveals her hand, "Two pair, Queens over Eights." She smiles slightly, "And you can ask, it was West Point." She chuckles, "Figure you're an Avenger, and half of them already know anyway. The cowl is mostly for people that might come to poker night and aren't in the know already. So you're someone I don't mind peeking under the mask." Her grin grows a bit more, as she's definitely far more relaxed than the reputation of Bats would have one believe.

Greer Grant has posed:
Tigra grimaces and throws down her cards, not able to beat two pair. But at least they're only playing for baked goods. "Didn't know that, no," she says of West Point. "And the identity thing, that's a line I try real hard not to cross." There are other lines that can be crossed, of course. "Only under the mask?" she asks dryly when it comes to peeking.

Ben Grimm has posed:
Ben Grimm gets a beep on his alert monitor and sighs, "You split what's left among the two of you, Gotta go..." he pays his tab and then rushes out.
