Date of Scene: 26 January 2024
Location: Wayne Estate - Bristol Township
Synopsis: A walk to the stables turns into a relationship. Weird, right?
Cast of Characters: Damian Wayne, Kara Danvers

Damian Wayne has posed:
It is safe to assume that noone, perhaps not even Alfred himself had assumed that High Tea would have become as insanely popular as it had been. Now with the event finally starting to wind down, Damian had held onto Kara's hand, leading her out through the kitchen - where apparently Barbara, Cassandra, and Megan were enjoying chocolate milk and Lucky Charms and through the rear entrance of the house.

As the cold night air hits them, the young man gives a little shiver as he adjusts from the temperature change, a chuckle coming from him, coalescing into a puff of white in the dark air. "I didn't expect us to gardner all the attention that we did, Kara. But I can only assume and this is only my personal theory, that when arrives with the prettiest girl, everyone is going to be curious." A slight flirt, but an earnest attempt as his eyes adjust to the darkness.

Reaching over to flip a small switch, he turns on the lights of the backyard, illuminating the outdoor pool, a small gathering area with grill and the path that leads further back. "The horse stalls are about a quarter mile from here." he explains. "I figured we can walk and talk, if you wanted. Or..." The smile that touches his lips as he squeezes Kara's hand is amused. "You could just carry me there." Bumping his shoulder against hers, the cashmere brushes against her skin, "In case I have not said it yet, you look amazing. I mean, you usually do. Just more so tonight. I'm glad that Kara Zor-El showed up tonight."

Which brings his next question, a glance over to her, green eyes taking her in. "How did it feel to be introduced as such? I was comfortable with it. And I think my family may have been the best place to start with that. After all, we're no strangers to name changes. What, Robins, and Nightwings, and who knows how many names I have had. Between Damian al-Ghul and Wayne..." he shrugs. "I'm glad you're living your truth."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara waves to the trio of ladies eating breakfast cereals and feels a pang of jealousy that she wasn't offered any freeze dried marshmellows in chocolate milk. At least until they slip outside into the cold, which she doesn't really feel, and sees the massive pool spread out across the majority of the immediate surrounding. "Holy moly." Not that she's never seen a big pool before. Just not one that wasn't in a gym... "That is a lot of pool."

Squeezing Damian's hand in response, she grins. Red lips peeling open wide over her pearly white teeth. "You look very handsome." One, definitive, nod that has her bangs swishing across her face. Free hand going to tug the hem of her skirt down a little, it really wasn't meant for the cold. "I sometimes forget about weather until I see the snow."

Offers and options.

"Oh, we can walk. It is too early in the evening for me to demasculate you by carrying you." Her hip juts out to playfully bump against his, letting him lead the way across the quarter mile, quarter freaking mile, to the stables. "It felt nice. I would have been so out of place trying to pretend I was just 'Kara Danvers'.. But I can see the pitfalls. Especially if I do not wish to have all the attention on me."

From pancake, back to waffle fingers.

"I guess now I have an adorable assassin who will knife people who ask too many questions?"

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Oh, that's the outdoor pool. There is also one inside in the gym, if you ever want to use it." Damian explains, clearly he's assuming that she may want to visit the house more often, even if it is just in friendship. Not that he's friend-zoning himself. "That one's closed for the winter, so not as much fun to swim in? But we can finish the tour of the house later, if you'd like? Or next time you visit."

At the comment that he was handsome, his cheeks, already dark, feel warm and she can hear the slight elevation in his heart rate, which goes all the way from his heart to the small pulse in his hand as they alternate between hand-grips.

And her comment about demasculate him makes him bark out a laugh, eyes crinkling in utter amusement. Turning to face her as he walks backwards, practiced on using this part of the trail, he rolls his eyes. "I am not so insecure as to not to see the merits of being in the arms of the beautiful woman that might be my girlfriend. And can also benchpress battleships." he points out to her. She opened the door with the question about an adorable assassin, he steps right in.

Turning to walk back next to her as they leave the gated grounds and onto the path to the stables, he nods thoughtfully. "It was good to do it here as a dry run. If you plan to share it with the world, you will at least know that those closest to you are aware and will stand beside you." Fingers laced, he slides his between hers before his hand leaves hers, only to settle across her hip and on the small of her back. "I'm more swords than knives, but I want to stand next to you." he admits quietly.

And his feet pause for a moment, before he straightens up, full height. She makes him just want to stand taller before he falls back into step. "I saw my father head off with my mother. I'm not sure if that settles whether or not our parents are having a relationship, but perhaps would make ours less awkward?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"So I just have to stay around long enough to get some of that good Gotham Sun tanning in?" Kara plays a big game about not really being that good at English, but she's been here for three years. She's picked up enough to let her particular brand of teasing shine through when she really wants to. Face crinkling in a big grin that goes right up to her equally big blue eyes... more so when he swings around to walk backwards in front of her.

Offering up all those compliments about how much she lifts.

Her free hand comes up to rest a finger against his lips, "I can bench press Asia." Said in a very quiet, very serious, but still very playful, somehow, voice. Then she's walking beside him, his arm around her waist with a hand in the small of her back. Considers the implications of something he'd said earlier.

Which becomes endlessly more important when he says he wants to stand beside her. Her smile faulters a little and she stops moving, if only to turn and face him. Well within the personal space that most people covet as some treasure, but feels very nice to be inside when it's cold out. She blinks a few times, eyes moving to search his face when next she speaks, "You know, if you date me, and I do this it will put a lot of scrutiny on you? I only ever considered it because I did not have anyone to worry about... My Cousin can take care of himself.. and nobody would mess with his family just to get to me." Her hand reaches out to tug at the front of his sweater.

"So I want you to think about that. Because I like you and I would like to be your girlfriend, but I do not want to cause you undue deress."

As for their parents, her nose scrunches, but then she shrugs. "Even if they were, I do not think it would matter. My mother has been alone for a very long time... I hope that she finds someone that makes her happy. So long as they do not make us call each other brother and sister."

Damian Wayne has posed:
"I don't know if you noticed, but my whole family has a Gotham tan." Damian points out with a chuckle, a gesture of his finger to his cheek as he considers his slightly darker skin. "I was only blessed by my mother's Middle Eastern complexion." His smile matches her for a moment as she points out that she can easily lift Asia." And his response is simple.

"You're Kara Zor-El. You could lift the universe if you had to. But you should not wear it on your shoulders." She stops and that brings him to a pause as well, her turn bringing them face to face again as he is introduced to the implications of his words and his suggestion that they date.

"I am the son of the World's Greatest Detective and the Demon's Daughter." he comments to her earnestly. "I have spent my whole life trained in the shadows. I know how to kill someone in more ways than I care to count and I have quickly started to pick up on the skills of my father, who has led two seperate lives for most of his natural life." Tugged closer to her, his hands settle on her sides as he weighs the idea.

"I know Damian Wayne would want to stand next to Kara Zor-El. As Robin would support Supergirl." Like her, his civilian identity is her mask. She's shedding hers, and he will keep his own to make sure /she's/ comfortable.

With the mention of being called brother and sister, Damian's nose wrinkles, his eyes glow with mischevious mirth. "I hope not, because then I couldn't do this."

Quick, not quick enough that Kara can't stop it if she wanted, but he's fast for a human, he steps into her, a press of the hand on his sweater into her chest as he leans in and his mouth presses firmly to hers, kissing her, hands tightening on her sides, remaining there for several seconds.

Kara Danvers has posed:
There are moments that must be focused on.

Things that are said that, once out, can't be retracted. Telling someone you're their father after cutting off their hand? That's permanent... Like telling someone, 'I fancy you' romantically, but my life choices could lead to problems that she's not comfortable shouldering without him putting all the due thought into the implications. This is their Cloud City moment.

So Kara stares up at him.

The height difference isn't outragious, but it's nice.

Like what he's saying. Her smile widens a little... and then a little more.

A response to his counter points, even if some of it involves 'killing people'. That's just honesty. With her slipping right up against his chest, flattening out her palms against his chest when it's clear he's not going to pull away and run back to the mansion. That would have been awkward.

Then there's a quick kiss and Kara watches it happening. It's not in slow motion or anything, but there's enough time.. plenty of time for her. She's not the Flash. When their lips touch, it's soft, with the brush of her nose against his in the simple, demure, show of blossoming intimacy betwixt them.

Once it's over, entirely too quickly, she's grinning from ear to ear. Eyes wrinkled, blue sparkling as she stares up at him. "Which side of the family did you get your kissing skills from?"

Damian Wayne has posed:
His response is so much better than 'I know'. Unless she's Han in this Cloud City fantasy, then things are awkward. Even if he could rock a white body suit. And it's probably cold enough that if he stayed out here too long, he'd probably freeze.

The kiss is indeed, too quick, for both of them. But Damian doesn't run. He rarely has in his life, and there is no way he's going to flee from someone that can truly appreciate what is between them in all facets.

That gets that there is a Damian Wayne and a Robin and they are one in the same. He doesn't have to pretend that he has to go to the bathroom. Or there's some important or another matter. Just a knowing look.

And that, in itself is liberating.

Like their blossoming feelings, that smile touches his face again, almost a mirror of hers. It's warm and affectionate as deep emerald eyes meet the ones the color of the brightest sky. "I didn't really get much practice kissing when I was young." he admits and cocks his smile in a playful smirk. "But I am more than willing to practice with you until we have it perfect."

Which puts them at a crossroads. They could continue on to the barn and check out the animals. That was the plan. But baby, it is cold outside and that bed in the house is /pretty/ comfortable.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Knowing looks are incredibly important in Superhero Relationships.

Aww, I know it's date night, but I have to go punch a hole into the core of the earth to stop tetconic plates from shifting and causing Africa to fall into the Ocean is so much easier when she just has to shrug sheepishly and wrinkle her nose. How long can a person, reasonably, pee? Lying is such ugly business.

Now she's standing there up against him with the glow from the Mansion only a few dozen yards away casting long shadows towards where they're standing all up in each other's personal space. Smiling little teenagers. Smiling until it hurts a little. Smiling until she's twisting her fingers in his sweater and glancing over at the Mansion.

Then back again with a sheepish little shrug and a wrinkle to her nose.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Or the whole... Scarecrow is releasing fear toxin into the girl's dorm at Gotham U, oh hey, I have to go to the bathroom, that curry REALLY DID NOT SIT WELL.

Knowing is very important. As is honesty. And they both seem to have that covered pretty well. Which brings us back to here and now, as they share in this moment, and her tilt of her head sets the course of the evening.

His hand returns to her. "We can visit the stables in the morning." he decides, "Let's finish the tour of the house." With that, he is back at her side, his hand in hers, what was it?

Waffle fingers as they head back towards the Manor.
