Synopsis: Billy and Irie get to know each other. Surprises galore.
Cast of Characters: Billy Batson, Irie West

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson had been Shazaming a lot today. Now it was Billy time. He'd set out some lavender candles. He had a nice, large dinner of pizza and tacos set out. He had something in his hoodie pocket all set for presentation. He locked the portal to the Rock from his side so there would be no one popping out of his closet. Finally he pulled his phone out and texted the woman who made his heart race. "I have a surprise for you. Come over. Door is locked but that doesn't really matter, does it :D?" Finally he turns on some Queen.

Irie West has posed:
<Ooh, a surprise!> comes Irie's answer. <I'll be right over. Gimme a sec.> Sure enough, it only takes a minute or two of waiting before Irie shows up next to Billy, in a streak of yellow and red and Speed Force lightning. Normally she wouldn't just phase through the front door like this, and just knock on it, but Billy gave her an open invitation to just come in so she did.

She's dressed just as casually as Billy is, since they've never really been ones to dress up. She's got on tight skinny jeans, and red sneakers. She's got on one of her white tees that has the Flash logo emblazoned on the front (she gets a hefty discount at the Flash museum) and her leather jacket that Donna gave her that has the same emblem stitched into the back. Her deep red hair is worn loose, though it *is* a little unkempt after running.

She gives Billy a tight squeeze of a hug, and a peck on the cheek. "Hey, Billy! Ooh! Pizza and tacos!" Of course she noticed the food before the candles. "Hopefully not the //really// spicy ones. I mean, I can handle a little spice, but those were just... wow. A lot."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson is still a little startled by a girlfriend popping up like that. "Oh hey yeah. Not spicy. Mom promised. So sit down for a minute. I'll make this quick so we can eat and snuggle nor whatever." He tries to sound nonchalant, waits for her to settle and begins a short speech.

"So remember when I gave that locket to Mads? Because I was a dumb kid and did not have any idea what such a present meant to a girl. Weeeeellllll I know what it means now so here." He hands Irie the box.

Irie West has posed:
Irie obediently sits down, scootching the chair around so she can face Billy. She grins at the prospect of snuggles after eating, snuggling being one of the best things about dating.

She blinks in surprise as Billy hands her a small jewelry box. "Oh!" She opens the box, and pulls out a gold necklace, hanging from which is a a gold pendant in the shape of the Shazam lightning bolt. "Oh! Oh goodness! I love it!" she says, putting it on. Now that her hands are free she gives Billy another hug, and kiss on the lips.

It's only now that she notices the candles and it occurs to her just how serious Billy is about their relationship. Not that Irie is any less serious about it just... it just dawns on her that they're at that level.

"Um. Billy? I have something I need to tell you," she says, her tone turning serious. "It's nothing bad!" she hastily adds, "But I've been waffling on when I should tell you and..." she looks down at her chest and holds the pendant in her fingers. "I think now is a good time."

Looking up she meets Billy's eyes, chewing on her lip, worrying how Billy will take this. "I think I'm asexual. I've thought about it for a while, about where our relationship is going and what the future might bring, and when I thought about... you know... sex, I just... it didn't appeal to me. Maybe that'll change in the future, but maybe not." She sounds a little scared when she asks, "I hope you're okay with this? I mean, I'll understand if you're not, but I just... you needed to know."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson sits down and takes Irie's hands in his. "I would never want to pressure you. I'm glad you told me. I... honestly didn't think that far ahead. I just wanted to give you this resent and a nice dinner and well I like Queen. We'll work something out. Come on, let's eat. When she gets up he gives her a tight hug and another kiss on the lips. "Kissing is still good right?"

Irie West has posed:
Irie grins. "Kissing is still good!" she says, and leans forward to demonstrate that kissing, indeed, is still good. "Thank you for understanding. I mean it. I really worried over how you'd take it. I mean, I thought you'd take it as well as you did, but you never know, right?"

"Right. Food time now. Then maybe some cuddling and a movie?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson boops her on the nose. In his head Zeus is laughing his ass off. Solomon is explaining what asexual is to Hercules. The rest of the chorus is doing the dead stare, Well... there is a gap between them in terms of life experiences he explains to the Greeks. Solomon feels Billy handled things correctly. He shuts them away for a while. He sits and eats sparingly. He ate before she got here. That's 101 for dating a Flash.

Irie West has posed:
And Irie is already digging into the food. The first to go is several slices of pizza before she moves onto the tacos. "I love your tacos," she says. "The seasoning you use on the beef is just... Mmmm, so yummy."

"So. Got any ideas on what we should watch later?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson ponders. Then he says, "I like old movies. I love those fifties monster movies, Them, The Creature That Challenged the World. Mr. Sardonicus (which you slept through). Mom and dad tried to broaden my taste. They gave me Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Oh I got Star Trek but we won't bother with the odd numbered movies. I also picked up some Laurel and Hardy somewhere."

Irie West has posed:
"I just watched the Lost Skeleton of Cadavra the other day," Irie says between bites of tacos. "Have you seen it? It's a movie that pokes fun of those bad 50s sci-fi films. It's really funny."

"But I could use to watch a *good* 50s sci-fi film. Or one of those monster ones you love," she admits. "What was the name of the one that was based off of Shakespeare's The Tempest? I liked that one."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson claps his hands and springs up. "Forbidden Planet! Also was partly inspiration for Star Trek... I'm going to get you to watch some Trek yet." He goes over to the entertainment center and pulls a CD out of a cabinet. "You have great taste... movies... guys?" He does an eyebrow waggle worthy of Blue Beetle. Then the CD is inserted and he heads for the couch, readying a quilt because the apartment is a little cold. Flashes get cold, right? Anyway she said she liked snuggles. "C'mon slowpoke."

Irie West has posed:
Irie makes a face. "I've watched some Star Trek. I mean, It's okay and everything, but it's no Star Wars." Irie love for the franchise is well known, having gotten into it from her best friend Madison. "But, yeah, I'm sure it'll be better with you."

"Yeah. Flashes get cold," she says with a grin as she snuggles up under the blanket and leans against Billy. "We're still human."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson watches the credits roll and silently mouthed the future history speech. "Listen, you get cold, I give you my jacket. No running to Metropolis to get yours. You have to give me that. It is a cornerstone of male/female relationships. We also kill spiders though I do a catch and release thing. Sometimes I do it as Shazam... sometimes as Shazam I don't feel human." That slips out and astonishes him.

Irie West has posed:
Irie nods solemnly. "I promise to let you be all gentlemanly and give me your jacket. Spiders don't bother me much," she says. "Unless they're, like, six feet tall. //Then// they bother me. I'm good with catch and release, though. They play an important part of the ecosystem and crushing something for just being there, even it is a spider just seems wrong somehow you know?"

Billy's admission gets a thoughtful scowl. "How so?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson puts an arm around Irie, "I don't feel things. I went to Iceland a dozen times. I didn't feel it until I went with you and turned into Billy. I don't feel hot, I don't feel cold. Bullets hitting me feel like the lightest touch. I don't know... it's like like VR. I don't feel you hugging me really. I'm just... apart from things. It gets worse when I channel Zeus' full power. I'm not Billy. I feel dangerous, like I could take things too far."

He snuggles her a little more. "I'm so glad you like Billy, and I can be Billy right now. You make me feel good... about Billy. Thank you."

Irie West has posed:
Irie mulls that over for a while before responding. "I get what you mean," she says. "It's hard to be engaged with things when you're that divorced from them." She snuggles in closer when Billy's arm wraps around her. "I think it's a good thing to be worried about these things," she says. "It means that you're concerned you might accidentally hurt people. I think that's one of the reasons why they chose to you to be Shazam. You've got a good heart and it grounds you. It helps keep the power of Shazam from going to your head, you know? It's one of the things that I really like about you."

"I'm glad I like Billy, too. He's a good person who cares about the world around him." She grins, "He's patient enough to teach a speedster how to swim and how to drive, and he's got good taste in movies, and he knows how to cuddle well."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson leans his head against her. He mhmms. "Well I better. All things considered. So let's watch the movie. Then we'll figure out what to do with the rest of the evening. I think you keep me grounded too. Annnnnd maybe I can have you on a segment of my show? You're what I like in a guest."

Irie West has posed:
"Sure! I'd like that. I've been meaning to get on your show for a while now," Irie says with a grin. She reaches out under the blankets to entwine her fingers though Billy's. "Okay. Movie's getting going. Let the cuddling commence."
