Date of Scene: 05 March 2024
Location: Grant's Apartment - Grant's Gym
Synopsis: The first date goes well!
Cast of Characters: Ted Grant, Blue GhostEyes

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant had some lingering vibes, feelings about Blue being his old pal, Johnny. So he showed up for their date with a couple of tickets to the roller derby. However, seeing Blue GhostEyes 'dolled up' made the derby out of the question. He presented the flowers he felt silly for buying a very practical seeming woman. He went through with the part about the nice dinner he set up. That went well. In fact he was going to bring up that eating contest at the Flapjack House to her at some later date.

Dancing was... fun. He could dance to the modern stuff but it lacked a certain soul. They left after a bit and gravitated to his apartment. Opening the door he gives Blue a hug, lifting her heels at least off the floor. Most guys can't do that.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue was definitely dolled up. For once she isn't wearing some sort of blade or hiding a flask or three. She's got on pale blue tights and a dark blue sleevles tunic with a red underlay that matches the red heels she's donned for the first time ever. Well, aside from two days practice which resulted in multiple bruises, a fist through the wall in frustration and falling on her ass six times. All of which only made her more determined to master the damn things. For a person full of natural grace and agility, it was quite a humbling experience.

The woman even has a bit of jewelry on, red leather wristlets and a jade and bronze necklace. Her dark hair has been brushed until it shines. The dancing had definitely been different than it used to, and different again from what she does when she goes alone but it had still been a lot of fun. Knowing Ted is feeling a bit strange yet over the person she was before, she's done her best to put him at ease and make sure he's having a good time too.

She's surprised when he lifts her up in a hug. Surprised and judging by the sound of the laughter that comes spilling out of her, delighted. Her arms wrap around Ted's neck and she kisses him soundly. "That was great! The dancing, the walk here, this. All of it." She smiles, brown and blue eyes alight with happiness.

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant squeezes her tight. Then puts his feet under hers to walk backwards into the apartment. Like he's teaching some kid to dance, despite the obvious signs she is no such thing.

Then he kisses her again and whispers three words to thrill any woman he ever met, "Remove the heels." Heels are just hell. He knew this from a USO show he did in '43. He indicates the sofa. "Take a load off. Ya want anything?" He puts some slow jazz on the stereo.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
They really are but she wanted to be taller for him. Aside from that reason, Blue couldn't come with a single other one anyone would wear the godsbedamned things. She has a new skill though, so there is that! Plus, it had been fun to be a bit closer in height.

Eagerly she kicks her feet free of the red shoes and sighs in relief. Blue closes her eyes and just listens to the music and savors the moment for a few before turning and smiling at Ted. "A beer if you got one, or a soda?" She asks. Judging but how things are going she suspects her plan to put her feminine side on display is working.

Ted Grant has posed:
Plan? She needed no plan. Ted was low hanging fruit. He does come back with two beers. "Soda is poison. I don't keep it in stock. Yer of drinking age." He brushes past her, slowly and smells how great her hair smells. He gets lost in those luminous eyes of hers, and the smile. then he plops onto the sofa and pats a cushion next to his seat.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue snickers. Drinking age. Yep, she's definitely past that. "I don't usually remember that." She admits as she takes the beer and sips it, gazing into Ted's eyes before scooting over and snuggling into his side. "I can eat just about anything that isn't actual poison and I need to have as much calories and stuff as possible. Other people struggle to keep the weight down and I struggle to keep it up so I don't lose muscle mass."

Ted smells wonderful. Male, musk, his soap.. though she's already thinking of a blend that will enhance his natural scent and considering if she has the stock to make it or needs to go shopping. "I know it wasn't the kinda dancing you like, but I had a really good time Ted." Blue leans her head against Ted's broad shoulder and smiles at the hard muscle beneath her soft skin.

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant strokes her cheek. It's an incredibly gentle touch from a man who could punch a hole in a brick wall. "You wanna know what I really like about you, Blue?"

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Well that could be a loaded question Blue thinks. Her near insatiable curiousity has her asking after only a few seconds thought though. "No. What do you really like about me?" She practically hums the question back at him as she leans her cheek into that touch.

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant snuggles a little closer to her, slipping an arm around her waist. "You make me feel like I fit in. We were talking about being different the other day? I can't hide what I am -a fucking kaiju. Most women don't reach to my shoulder. It's just awkward with them. You're my size. ... I don't need to worry about hurting you when I give you a hug or a cuddle. I can smush you in a kiss. I have bruised people without realizing it. I pushed open a door onetime. It stuck a little and then I saw it said, "Pull." I tried to move a table at Big Belly. It was bolted down... it still moved." He sighs and gives Blue a sort of scritch since a little coyote was showing.

"Kids..." small shudder. "I like kids but I either terrify them or they make with questions -what do I eat? How do I find enough? Will I eat them? Can they climb on me. So... this is a big thing for me."

"Also in no order, I like your cuddles and you're a great kisser." Was he baiting her for another kiss? In any case the scritching moves behind her ear.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue blinks, her mind searching through the various languages she's learned over the years and coming up blank for a minute until she remembers her office lackey and his fancy comics collection from Japan. Ah. Then she scowls. "Bullshit. You are handsome and strong and a damned good man. If other women can't see that then they can go eat a bag of dicks." She growls. Then her head snaps up and her eyes widen and she looks aghast. That right there probably just blew all her careful ladylikeness right out of the water.

Wincing, she covers her face with one palm and then admits quietly.. "I know what you mean. I've had centuries to learn and adapt and adjust my strength so I don't hurt or kill someone by mistake. I'm no Hulk or Spider-Man but I can lift five hundred pounds easy, seven if I push it and I never have to do more than eat enough. I know a thousand different ways to hurt or kill or maim but the hardest of all was learning to keep my own strength in check." So she does understand.

If her brief flash of anger on his behalf doesn't put him off, Blue will definitely kiss him again. "Kids are.. it's different when you have your own. They won't be afraid of you or ask stupid.. well okay, they'll ask all kinda stupid shit but it won't be about you eating them or anything and since they are yours you find it amusing instead of annoying or intimidating. I think, anyway."

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant gets a little dark, despite the kiss. "Oh I got no end of dames wanting to bang me. I'm just a novelty of sorts to some. ... I lost a kid. No more kids for me. I hate outliving them." He lightens up pretty fast.

"Seven hundred... wow. I managed six a couple times or in squats. Or on machines. No one was spotting that. Oh I think I found the spot." That's in reference to his stroking behind the ear.

"I've known a few strong women like you. I tell you this... you take a bad ass woman and listen to her, respect her... even defend her... and her steel turns to silk. Wanna know something? I'm much the same." More snuggling.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"I go out to the wilds every spring. Either somewhere with coyotes and no humans or somewhere without either depending on how I feel that season." Blue says softly. "Every spring I hafta decide if I want to bear a child when I'm a woman. It doesn't affect me when I'm a guy." She sighs and slips her arm around Ted in turn, hugging tightly. "It's hard to watch others pass in and out of your life so much but I've learned to just live in the moment. To enjoy all the little things. As much as their passing hurts, without them, life is pretty bleak and the good times help balance the scales."

Letting go of the darkness herself, Blue tilts her head and looks at Ted in wry amusement. "I was.. surprised by how much I liked you coming to my defense the other day. I'm not used to that. I'm glad you won't get upset if I do the same for you."

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant says, "Nah, if I gotta hide behind a woman, you're a likely choice." Her hug is tight but he already decided she could break his ribs and he wouldn't say anything. He's quite flattered she is so comfortable with him."

The record (yes record!) stops playing. He looks down to her and says, "Do you remember the Lindy? Do you want to do some real dancing?"

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
With a wild grin and a sparkle in those unusual eyes, Blue leaps up and tugs Ted with her easily. She's careful not to hurt him but it's clear she could lift him up and dance about the room with ease. Instead of that though she settles into the movements of the dance, allowing him to have the lead. It would be fun to toss him up and swirl him around but she tries to keep a balance between her male and female psyches when she can. It helps during the long term.

It doesn't take her long to recall the half forgotten moves and she's soon well into the dance with Ted, a gleeful expression on her face.

Ted Grant has posed:
Ted Grant does indeed wrap the shapeshifter around his torso several times in the dance. After one such spin Blue might notice a certain foundation garment unhooked. Totally appropriate for the dance moves she's making. Ted is showing off.

As he holds her close he says, "Your turn to show off, baby. Throw me around. I can take it. Nice to try something new."

Apparently Ted has no problem with her leading for a bit.
