Synopsis: Bobby and Red catch up a little bit. Compared to their first meeting, the shoes may be on the other foot.
Cast of Characters: Bobby Lane, Blue GhostEyes

Bobby Lane has posed:
Bobby's trying to find himself a little bit. Adjustments, growing pains, all of that to be expected. It doesn't mean it's not hard. So, social bonds are few and far between. So, they're all cherished and savored. He manages to send out a text to Blue, "I'm going to the Coppertop Cafe," it's a common misspelling for Copperpot.

Bobby finds himself a spot. Just a nice booth. He has enough for it (thankfully). The young man hates showing up to places as a window shopper unless it's absolutely intended. Once comfy he'll begin with a simple coffee, something to drive off the cold wind of winter that lingers. Bobby's coffee just has enough creamer and sugar to drown out the original taste. Some people would question if it's even coffee anymore. I

Taking the first sip after mixing it all, he smiles brightly. "Oooooh. That's good," somewhere a coffee snob is inwardly dying.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Thanks to Bobby's advice the night they first met, Blue has been finding herself. She's been working on those social bonds too. She loves this little old cafe and shows up with a spring in her step, looking a bit different than the last time he saw her. A black leather biker jacket and boots, black jeans and a navy blue tank top. There's also a blue streak in her hair starting at her right temple and a few inches across.

She drops into a seat across from Bobby and draws attention and a glare from the next table after adding what looks like half the sugar jar to her cup. "It is good. I can drink it any way but I need a sugar boost right now." She eyes the coffe snob glaring at her and they hastily look away upon meeting her strange piercing stare. She can hide her eyes but rarely bothers with it out side of work on occasion.

"So, how are you doing? I've been doing so much better. I met up with this guy I fought in World War 2 with. I was a different person back then. We were friends but now we're seeing each other. I wasn't his type then and it wasn't really okay in that time and place for men to see each other anyway. I also kept the shifter thing a secret. It was a huge surprise to run into him again. Worked out well though." Blue rambles a bit but she smiles a lot, clearly happy to see Bobby and spend some time together.

Bobby Lane has posed:
"Wondering what causes the glow up," Bobby says honestly about the change in blue. It fits her. That doesn't mean it can't be a little jarring. Just feels like a night and day difference. Then he smirks, "Look at you," Bobby shakes his head a little bit. "I can't say I'm not a little jealous," he admits honestly. Although he's happy to hear the rabmling. "Well, how does he feel about knowing his former friend is now a paramour?" a brow raises slowly.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"It was.. a bit weird for him at first." Probably an understatement that. "I mean he was happy to see me but it took a bit to get past his vision of his old friend Johnny and wrap his mind around me. It's like part of Johnny is still in me but I'm also Blue. We worked it out though." She smiles. "I was in a real dark place and you helped me out of it. If not for that night in the cemetary I'dve never been so open to coming across an old aquaintance and that's done me a world of good too."

"I'm sure you'll find someone. You're pretty cool Bobby and you got that whole "mysterious air" thing going for you. People dig that." She smiles again. "I've made some new friends too. I started tending bar at a place called Josie's in Hell's Kitchen. That lead to several new contacts I'm still developing. It's a bit weird though since first responders hang out there. I usually avoid them but.. a few of 'em aren't so bad."

Bobby Lane has posed:
"I have someone, or at least, I thought I did. Old 'War Buddy' too. But she's gone worryingly quiet," and there's genuine concern in his voice. "She was just my friend and well, that changed," he blushes a little bit. He actually smiles for a second. "With her gone. I was just sort of wandering. I moved out here to be close to her because, my 'War Buddies' were the closest thing I had to family. Now, there's more complication to it," he shakes his head a little bit.

"Josie's? I feel like I've heard of that. What does the bar look like? I've wandered into one or two," he says honestly. Some of the names he's lost track of. That something he wants to remedy.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"It's kinda old and dated but they just did a fund raiser to replace the windows after a drive by shooting and I think they were gonna work on some more stuff. It's just a good ol' hole in the wall spot to drink and shoot pool." She listens to Bobby talk about his own war buddies and nods. "Things can get complicated and that can suck. I'm sorry. I hope it works out. I'm here for you though, if you need someone to talk to or help in a fight or something."

Blue looks at him a moment, her stare is always rather piercing with those strange two-toned eyes. Then she nods her head. "No questions asked even." She either trusts him or likes him enough it doesn't matter. He could probably call her up in the middle of the night needing help with hiding a body and she'd just shrug and start digging.

Bobby Lane has posed:
Bobby's not sure what causes everything to happen next. Maybe the bottle he kept it in breaks, maybe he just needs to talk about it and trusts Blue, something else entirely or some weird combination. "Me and my 'Warbuddies' were kidnapped. They knew right away they were. Me? I didn't realize until a good chunk of time into my stint. Y'know, didn't realize the bars were gold," he shakes his head a little bit.

IF this is the kind of place that would allow smoking, Bobby would have asked for a drag. "We're all related to people that were experiments and gained some 'exceptional' skills," he takes a sip of his coffee. "They wanted to see if the 'spark' was there for us, too. Care to take a guess what they tried to test?" he asks with a raised brow.

He sighs, "I always pictured the six of us to always be together. A brothers in arms kinda thing. The escapees and those that helped us get out. My girl she can defy gravity. Really well. She can even cause others to defy it, too," Bobby continues a bit. Painting the picture a little bit more. "She's better at that than I am," and that's a small hint to more of Bobby's own skills in that area.

"So, I don't know if she's gone, kidnapped, floated to an island with no cell coverage for a siesta," he shakes his head and takes a drink. "I have all this freedom. I just never pictured doing things without them, but here we are," he says honestly.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue growls. A rather inhuman sound coming from a human throat. Her eyes spark with righteous anger. "And people like that are why I hid what I was during the wars and only recently started allowing others to know. Monsters, the lot of them and the only good monster is a dead one." She takes a breath and gets her emotions under control. "I hope you find her. I'll help you look if you want. I get never expecting to be on your own. I've had that happen more than I can remember. Life bites hard sometimes. You aren't *all* alone though. I'll be here for you."

The woman tucks a strand blue-dyed hair behind her ear and sighs. "And you'll meet others. The key is to figure out who you can trust and not turn them away. I spent most of the ten years of this life turning almost everyone away, not letting anyone close and I was near to losing it. I don't wanna see that happen to you. If those people ever come looking for you, I'll stand with you, I'm sorry you had to go through that."

Bobby Lane has posed:
"I can't say I don't understand," Bobby sighs and shakes his head. "We were all 'normal' before that. Nothing had 'unlocked' it might never have," Bobby sometimes thinks about that. The pluses and minuses if the kidnapping never happened. A minus is the lack of powers. Bobby does like them.

"I'm learning. It's the first time I've been on my own outside of a system, or anything like that. It's an adjustment. Still finding my footing," he gives a soft smile. His eyes rest on her. "I'll call you at some point. Things gotta pan out," he says softly.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"I'll be there when you do." Blue promises. "I'm also glad it isn't all bad, what you took away from that mess." She can imagine, and she's good at reading and scenting people. Blue remembers that flick of fire. That would a good power to have.

"I don't like people that use kids for war. There's a guy on my street. He's about, oh twenty two we think. As far as the law is concerned here though he's seventeen. He stays with me sometimes, when his mom's a mess. Which is often. His dad was in the navy. Brought him home from South America after one deployment. He was a child soldier there and that man saved him. He died last year and it wrecked the woman. I understand that but her leaving the boy all on his own.. It drive me nuts."

Bobby Lane has posed:
"How do you not let the past drown you?" he asks softly. Seeing how wwell she takes the war. Even going out of her way to pulls out of fighting. Yes, his war is a little less literal, but all the isolation isn't exactly good for him. The gaze shifts to her, "If your friend ever breaks your heart, I can burn his. No questions," Bobby doubts that would happen. However, he would try to repay the favors she gave him. Getting some of this off his chest does make him feel better.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue looks into the distance. "It takes practice and sometimes it just does anyway. You have to try to live in the moment. Don't think about yesterday or tomorrow. Just focus on the "right now" and that helps a lot. I also drink way more than I should. Get into all kindsa fights. Stuff that distracts me, ya know? Not always healthy maybe but it helps drown out the noise of the gods only know how many different lives."

She smiles at Bobby's offer. "I'd rip it out myself if he did me wrong but thank you." Blue chucks him under the chin gently. "You have to find a job or people or both, maybe, school or something. Hobbies. Things you spend all your energy and focus on until it becomes habit to leave the past in the past as much as possible. That's how I do it at least."

Bobby Lane has posed:
"You shouldn't do that," Bobby smirks a little bit. "You might not have all your nine lives kitty cat. Savor the ones you got," Bobby just likes Blue around so he doesn't want to see her get hurt. However, there's an appeal to the idea. "Maybe I'll join an MMA gym. Get my ass kicked and train a little," he grins.

"I'm working on all of that. I guess I wasn't prepared for the culture shock. Most people come to New York for a goal, not exactly a person," and that's the thing. He didn't have a goal. So, he would have to figure one out. Find some people to run with. Something.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"I'm not worried. I always come back. It's my blessing and my curse." Blue says with side old eyes. Then she nods. "Yeah. That's a good idea. I'd take you to Ted's but it's in Gotham, not the most convenient place. Having a goal will definitely help you."

She thinks for a bit, quietly. "When I try to think back sometimes, I can tell what you mean by culture shock. I can remember when this whole area was nothing but wilderness, ya know? And now it's this. It's.. jarring sometimes, especially when it sneaks up on me. A random flashback or just trying to recall something from way back when."

Bobby Lane has posed:
"I've never been to Gotham. Wouldn't mind. And I can travel my own way. May not be as bad as inconvienant," this does spark his interest a little bit. "Tell me about this Ted guy. You guys fought in the war and you're fairly attractive. So, I imagine him and aging have a strained relationship, too? Like all the rumors of the Captain," he's obviously referring to Captain America. Just all the talk about the man's real age.

"Okay, you're really good looking for a three-hundred year old," he amends the previous statement.

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"Remember that night we met? The grave I was at was the grave of the man I was in World War 2. The one Teddy knew. Johnny Pale Eyes. He's buried there next to his wife and unborn child. Some things happened to Ted, either later during the war or after. We haven't really talked about them yet but yeah, he hasn't aged much at all. He was having a rough time too, he's a big well built man and with the not aging and being different.. he was tired of being alone and I don't think he had anymore idea what to do about it than I did. I was over there tracking someone for a case and lost the scent but picked up Ted's. I followed it and found him at his gym. We went out a few times and then things just, gelled."

Blue laughs but the sound is a little strained. "Try a thousand years. At least. That much I am sure of." She shakes her head and sighs a little. "Ted's around a hundred I think." She looks interested at the mention of the Captain. "I wonder if they've met, him and the Captain. I should ask. If I ever did I surely don't remember."

Bobby Lane has posed:
Bobby's just silent for a bit. There's a few good drinks of coffee before he speaks again, "I mean, it makes sense. A little morbid, Bluey," yes he does use that nickname. "But I'd probably be doing that, too."

Bobby chuckles a little bit, "Well, if ya can't f--k your best friend, who can you?" He holds up a finger, "Joking. Maybe there's a reason you both age as slow as dirt. I like to think reincarnation is real," he pauses and adds, "The regular reincarnation. The whole Eastern belief thing. Maybe this is just yours and Teds life. Maybe this isn't the first, it's just the first you know about," he offers with a a raised brow there. "But I hope to come back if it is true."

Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue snickers. What, it was funny! She tilts her head and stares out the window for a bit, a thoughtful expression on her face. There are things that most people aren't meant to know the real truth of. Or they are meant to decide for themselves. It's not her place to interfere in that.. and yet.. she's always done what she wanted. "I think.. that what you believe is what matters when it comes to things like that." She finally looks at Bobby and smiles mysteriously. It's more than she should have said on that topic but hopefully enough to give him hope or something to look forward to.

One thing she does know, he might never know it beyond vague senses of deja vu and barely recalled bits and pieces chalked up to dream and nightmare if he does but reincarnation is certainly a thing for some people. Although.. some of them, not many mind you but some, do remember past lives. She wonders what the future will hold for Bobby. She's added him to her history, her current record keeper knowing to keep track of this young man she feels a kind of kinship towards. It will be interesting to see where life takes him.. and herself as well. For the first time in what seems like an age, Blue is eager for the future to come and not mourning the past behind, or stuck in a limbo between.
