Geophysics Research Moments with Interruptions

Synopsis:	Words of warning about going outside and classes she should be studying for between other adventures.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex Summers can be found at one of the oversized mahogany tables with at least 13 books, notes, research articles, and even a laptop scattered around. There's also a black basalt rock (6"x4"x5") amid all of the stuff. He's flipping through pages in a book and looking for some information. Currently, Alex is wearing hiking boots, jeans, and a black long sleeved shirt that's tight over his muscular frame. His blonde hair is mussed and he looks like he's been awake for several more hours than he should have been. He finds the information, takes a pencil, writes down a few notes on a note pad off to his right. He's right handed.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty Sloan walks into the library. She immediately heads to a computer that had replaced the old school card catalog. Finding what she was looking for, she heads to the books and moves through them. She finds a book and takes it to a table. Taking a seat she opens the book and starts to pour over it. A glance at the book would reveal its on self defense.

The girl is wearing her Tie dye top and her ripped up jeans. Her wings are out for all to see. On her feet is her purple and white sneakers and on her face is her purple glasses.

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex takes note of her entry, but doesn't comment or say anything initially. Instead, he lets the student do what she intends. Though he does notice the book title in a quick glance. Yet, returns back to his work to finish the final few notes that he was jotting down before addressing her.

Alex looks up from his work and over to Patty. "Morning Patty." he'll say in a tone of friendly greetings.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty looks up and gives a polite smile. "Hello Mr. Summers. I was just doing a little studying. I don't have a class until this afternoon." She smiles politely before returning to the book. She then raises a fist and adjusts it so the thumb is on the outside. "Like that." She comments softly, not trying to distract anyone. Then its back into the book. There is a lot to read there. One thing that the book keeps on repeating is that self defense is just that. Its not to go looking for a fight. She nods slowly. "That makes sense." She whispers to herself as she keeps reading.

Alex Summers has posed:
He smiles, nods and then watches a second before asking, "Have they put you in a self defense class yet?" Then he clarifies, "Everybody normally takes dance and martial arts. Just didn't know if you were in either."

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty looks up and raises an eyebrow to Alex. "Oh umm. They put me in a dance class but not a self defense class. I've been looking to learn though even if its extracurricular. I kinda got myself into some interesting spots the weekend. I was depending a lot on my powers. I dunno what I would have done if things came to blows." She sighs and looks over the book a little more.

Alex Summers has posed:
"Hang on... I've not had time to read the after action report; or any report for that matter. What happened? What were you doing that put you in the line of danger?" He'll ask as he stands and walks over to her table to get closer and not project his voice. He'll take a seat across from Patty and lean forward, elbows/forearms on table.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty Sloan says, "That's okay, I didn't know I had to file any reports!" She exclaims. The librarian looks at her and shushes her. "Sorry." She whispers back to her. "On Saturday there was an explosion at a hotel. I was there. There was some shooting too. I was getting ready to go in and help people when the gunners came out. I used my wind to pin them to the ground. Then I heard sirens. So I flew up onto the roof and ran away." She explains. Then she changes gears. "Sunday I went to the bank to collect the last of my paychecks from my old job. Turns out the bank was being robbed. I didn't want to draw too much attention to myself so I played along. I laid down on the floor with the rest of the people there. Then I used my wind to mess with the robbers. Then I said that the place was haunted by an old security guard who died in a robbery. Most of the robbers ran away from that and their leader surrendered.""

Alex Summers has posed:
He grins and shakes his head throughout her sharing of details. He then chuckles and says, "That was very cleaver of you. But, it looks like you suffer the curse of the mutant. Trouble always finds us; no matter how prepared we are or how much we try and avoid it. So, word from the wise - every time you wake up, be ready to be jumped. Prepared for whatever situation that may befall you. Spies, terrorists, bank robbers, thugs, or weird alien monsters that drop down from the ceiling. Cause it's gonna happen. Which is why we should be training every day for many hours. In how to react as well use our powers - or not use our powers. But it sounds like you did good with concealing your ability and still fouling up the robbers."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Saturday though, I had to show my wings. Its how I had to get away before being seen by the police. Most of the people were clear of the area. Also I lost the belts that I was using to tie down my wings. Thankfully had a few others here. I'm going to have to go belt shopping soon. Either that or talk to Dr. McCoy. I heard he may have some ideas for hiding my wings without having to tie them down." She shakes her head. "I don't want to out myself but I definitely had to do something. Even if there were people shooting." She frowns. "I hate guns. They scare me."

Alex Summers has posed:
"They scare all of us. It's not something that you should stick around for or make yourself a target of. Guns are deadly. You hear shots; go the other way." He states quite clearly. "But, if you can't avoid them, then you really do need to know how to deal with the situation. And your power training along with self defense classes with help with that. My best suggestion from now on, until you get more hours under your belt - not your tie down belts, but experience - is to stay on the estate. You're safer here. And practice, practice, practice."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"You know I'm not going to stick around the estate all the time. It would be really boring to do that. Plus I gotta go shopping for stuff. Of course I gotta go back home at some point to get my car and my clothing... and maybe a few things for my room." She smiles. "You are right though. When I leave the Estate things tend to get weird. You know I had an encounter with a fifth dimensional being who just was changing things at random. That was a weird night."

Alex Summers has posed:
"And that's another trait of a new mutant. Claiming the mansion is boring and wants to get out and find trouble." He grins and shakes his head before standing back up and adding, "I need to get back to work. Be safe out there."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Well I am just checking off the boxes aren't I?" She laughs and nods. "Yeah I should probably go get ready for dance class." She stands up and goes to check out the library book on self defense. "Have a good day Mr. Summers." She states and waves.
