When a Plan Comes Together...
Date of Scene: 06 April 2024
Location: Latverian Embassy
Synopsis: Doom and Victorious go over the latest plans, Zora is given her new orders!
Cast of Characters: Zora Vukovic, Victor Von Doom

Zora Vukovic has posed:
Doom's will is law. At least in Latveria. And the Embassy is essentially that. To say nothing of the fact that Zora's loyalty would demand her obedience regardless.

So when Doom calls for a meeting with his right hand at the Embassy, Zora is standing outside the conference room almost before she can finish reading the memo. Standing outside the door, she has her spear in one hand, the butt resting lightly on the ground. In full regalia as the Herald of Doom, her armor is polished, her uniform is pressed and neat.

She waits with the patience of Job, a living statue that is at the command of the great Victor von Doom.

Victor Von Doom has posed:
Only two minutes ago Zora had checked the conference room and found it empty. For many it was be a bewildering surprise then that the conference room door opens soundlessly and standing on the other side, practically filling the doorway with his grandiose stature and bearing is none other than Doctor Victor Von Doom. Armored fists planted at his waist he strikes a truly imposing figure. The fact that is fists reside upon his waist and the door even now continues to slowly ease itself open is another astonishing feat that's likely only capable by a rare select few and, of course, Doctor Doom. Who probably does it the best.

While many may find such a display bewildering, astonishing, or awe inspiring? It's simply a Tuesday for Zora Vukovic.

"Zora," arrives the filtered voice of the Doctor. A single step aside and turn later, the doorway is opened to Zora's passage. Only when she has passed through it does Doom begin to move, though not to seat himself. The door lazily swings closed; even latching securely upon reaching its frame. Impressive balancing in that carpentry.

It's the head of the long table within the conference room that Doctor Doom moves to stand. It's there that his armored fists move to rest upon his waist once again. "Please, be seated. Let us begin. We have important matters of Doom's business to discuss."

Zora Vukovic has posed:
Head turning as the doors open, Zora looks at Doom, standing so imposing in the doorway... and nods.

Others might be affected. They might jump, or double-take, or make some loud exclamation. But as mentioned, for Zora, it's merely a Tuesday. Dipping her head to Doom respectfully, she passes by him, striding into the conference room. The spear is retracted and tucked away at the small of her back so she can stand easier, taking up a solid stance while Doom makes his way to the head of the table.

She seats herself as directed, her posture as ramrod straight while seated as it is while standing. Looking towards the head to the table, she gives an impassive nod and offers, "How might I serve the will of Doom today, my lord?"

Victor Von Doom has posed:
"Rejoice!" Doom announces with obvious mirth contained within his filtered and powerful voice, "For every day you serve the will of Doom simply by waking and existing, Victorious!" This includes his right hand lifting from his hip to thrust it triumphantly into the air in the direction of Zora.

The hand lowers after a moment and he continues as the mask of Doom shifts to settle itself solely upon Zora. He does not delay in offering his reasons for calling upon Zora and informing of her necessary presence. He does however shift a hand from his hip to rest steepled, armored fingers against the reflective surface of the exquisitely shined tabletop, "In the past we spoke of your plan to influence these West's youth with animated features and other theatrical pictures. I still wish to see this plan through".

He allows this to linger in the air between them. It's likely so that Zora may acknowledge the memory. Doom does not dwell on it for long. He has unearthed the memory, stated his intention to continue pursuing the plan, and simply moves onto more pressing matters. A hand lifts and with a wave of it, a projector springs to life. The holographic image sprouts from the center of the table near Zora and the itemized list seems to showcase a few key points within a plan being titled 'The DOOM Initiative'.

"As you can see," Doom says with a nod of his cowled head toward the hologram, "there are a number of steps laid out that I seek to pursue. While the plans themselves are foolproof and guaranteed to succeed, I wish your input regardless, Zora". A hand shifts and the high backed chair before him slides backward. Soon Doom seats himself, but only after allowing his cloak to pool naturally behind and beneath him. Now settled into his seat, the Monarch of Latveria continues with a casual gesture toward the slowly turning hologram, "Item One. What do you think? In simple terms I would empower you to act, wherever necessary, for the benefit of the host nation and its people. Conduct yourself as a hero and a symbol of truth, justice, honesty, and integrity. All of the things expected of you as Latveria's hero. Utilizing 'Good Samaritan' laws where they may exist, when possible. In those areas that do not, then you will utilize the diplomatic immunity afforded a pro tem ambassador of Latveria as necessary".

Then Doom falls silent. Watchful eyes stare out from beneath the mask and cowl, watchful of Zora and observant of both her reactions and response.

Zora Vukovic has posed:
Allowing herself an amused smile at his response, Zora offers, "I am honored and delighted each day to serve your will, my lord. I assure you, my measured response is only out of respect for you and your position." She doesn't repeat the gesture, likely because it would be somewhat less imposing and enthusiastic from a seated position.

As he speaks, she inclines her head, the faint remnants of a smile lingering at the remembrance of her contribution to ideas on how to enhance Latveria's reputation. "I am still of the belief that such a plan would aid our efforts greatly. We have seen the youth of today. They are frustrated and angry with their own elders, their own government, for the poor treatment they receive and can expect in the future. Showing them the truth of Latverian ideals and customs through cartoons and media will make them realize they don't have to accept the poor conditions they've been left with."

When the projector brings up the hologram images, she turns towards it, looking it over with a swift nod of agreement to the items on the list. Zora looks back to Doom after a few moments as he begins to speak again. She nods lightly and offers a faint smile, pleased that he trusts her judgment and values her imput.

"I see no issue with the plan. It will require me to stay further afield from your side than I would prefer in such a lawless and reckless country, but I trust in your ability to handle any... issues ...that arise. I expect I do not have to act as... ridiculous as some of these Western 'heroes'? No.. bright colors or 'spangly' new outfits? I will not be expected to expose various parts of my body to catch attention?" Zora is only partially joking about that, some of the costumes get pretty strange. "I can easily play that part. It will not be much different from my duties in Latveria. But does this mean you wish me outside during the upcoming UN meeting?" There's some small amount of concern there.

Victor Von Doom has posed:
"Your idea was a great one, Zora," high praise from one such as Doctor Doom. He does not meander about the praise however. He presents it, he allows it to linger for a brief moment, and then he's moving on from it. He remains locked in his present pose. One hand with armored fingers steepled against the tabletop. The opposite fist planted at his waist. The mask unwavering in its watch of Zora and the hologram. The question of unreasonable outfits earns a slight shake of head and mask, his cowl shifting slightly with his motions.

"No such outlandish, foolish displays will be necessary. Latveria isn't the decadent West and there is no need to debase yourself for the unworthy eyes of... these people," Doom explains with a voice as cold as steel

Zora's final question though earns a harder look from Doom. It isn't something of malice or annoyance, but judging by the slight squint of his eyes beneath his mask he is impressed. He nods once in answer, but then offers an explanation, "You have guessed correctly, Zora. I wish you to be outside. There will be plenty of cameras out there and if asked? You are simply a bodyguard of the King of Latveria, taking in the view of New York, the UN building, and all of the wonderful people. Suppress your disdain and push forward your best face. These are our friends and allies. We are here for them, just as we hope they will be here for Doom in a time of need".

The smile goes unwitnessed, but judging by the sound of his voice: it is absolutely there. It surely begins to fade as he concludes, "Doom is Latveria. You are a symbol of Latveria. Many in the United States looks to their Captain America for inspiration. We must lead them toward looking at Victorious, a true hero. A true hero of the people. All people."
