Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra had decided that she was not going to stick around NYC for the eclipse, she was going to drive to see it and she was going to take Wray with her!

Did she know that it was his birthday?

Maaaaaybe...

Did he remember that it was his birthday? They would find out! She'd packed up a cooler with drinks, food and eclipse glasses for them both. There were blankets to sit on when they got there. It wasn't full out camping, but close. "I'm guessing you've seen your share of eclipses?" she asks him.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
Wray was certainly happy to enjoy a spot with her to witness the eclipse. "I have. There have been many over the time I've been around." He grins over to her as they make their way to their destination. "Even so, it is breath-taking to see each time. The motion of celestial bodies is a dance in the skies." A lean in. "I've even seen a few elsewhere." A soft chuckle at that.

Once at their chosen spot, he helped carry things, or lay out the blanket - whichever she like. "How many have you seen?" He wonders.

Isra Kosimar has posed:
"This is my first one." Isra tells Wray with a soft smile. "I really don't get to experience them in the states and most times I've been abroad it's been the wrong area. So I wanted to go this time since the drive wasn't very bad." she admits.

Once blankets are spread out there is a grin to him, "I bet they were all special in their own way." she tells him. She then uncovers a little white box that was sitting in the trunk as well, keeping cool with the rest of the food.

She hands it over to him carefully. There is a ribbon around the box for him to untie, "And it is also your birthday." she smiles at that. "So it should also be celebrated." she grins.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
A nod to her. "Did you bring sunscreen? The sunlight is intense, despite the covering of the bulk of the star." Wray cautions, helping to smooth out the blankets. She's offered the first seat on the soft fabric. "Each was... something else, yes. Very much a special time."

As she produces a box, he blinks. "It is." He grins, a hearty laugh at that. "Sometimes they blur by, uncelebrated - it usually happens when things are darker." A sigh, regarding the box. "Thank you for celebrating with me, and thank you for this." He raises the box, nodding to her. Then it's time to carefully remove the ribbon and open the gift.

Isra Kosimar has posed:
"I think I did." Isra tells him as he cautions. She settles down after having removed her sandals. Wiggling her toes in the open air of the park she'd found. "I was surprised this place wasn't booked up really." she admits.

"Well, I am not one to forget birthdays." she muses. "And I had a little birdy mention that your birthday was the same day so it was a bit of a stars aligning moment." she chuckles.

Inside the box is a pretty simple one tier birthday cake. Yellow with chocolate icing with 'Happy Birthday!' on it in red script, "It might not look like much...but it is from the best bakery in the city." she tells him.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
As the cake is revealed, he gives a genuine smile. "It is far more than enough, Isra." A look to her, one filled with gratitude. "Thank you. I often have spent my birthdays alone, due to war or isolation." A slight smile. "This is a pleasant change, truthfully." She's given a nod, the man setting the cake down. "Will you share it with me?"

He pauses for a moment. "Do you speak to birds, then?"

Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra gives him a soft smile, "I was wondering what to get a long lived man for his birthday...and honestly cake was the most valuable thing I could think of." she grins. "I brought plates and silver ware for food, so I definitely would love to share." she adds.

"Oh, no, I don't talk to birds." she giggles to that. "It just means that I learned of your birthday from someone else." she admits.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
A sheepish nod from Wray. "I see. Some of the most surprising abilities spring up among your people. It is always something new." A chuckle. "Excellent. We shall share, and enjoy the eclipse. Do you have the special glasses we need? Or do we need to do the pinhole trick and view it on the ground?"

"Long-lived... yes, just a bit. I will be...." There are some mental calculations, then a laugh. "Too old."

Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra gives a soft smile to him, but she doesn't bring up any of her weird abilities. She wasn't that proud of them. "I do have some of the special glasses. I didn't want to risk your eyes to the sun." she muses to that as she hands him a pair.

Then she goes about getting plates unpacked for the cake, "So like a fine wine?" she offers with a bright smile to him.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
He takes the glasses, donning them with a chuckle. "How do I look?" A wink, unseen, to her. "I wouldn't suffer too much with the sun, but I would rather avoid that all together." He nods, taking a plate and fork, ready to try this cake.

"Like fine wine, if you say." A smirk from Wray. "I am not one to suggest I have bettered with age, though."

Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra listens to him as she cuts the cake, giving him the first slice since he is the birthday boy! She looks to him with the glasses and there is a warm laugh, "I mean, they work." she tells him.

"Mmm. I think that you have bettered with age though. I guess that's my opinion though." she admits to that.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
A laugh. "You didn't know my at my youth though." He smirks, taking the cake with a smile of thanks. "But I appreciate the compliment. I am sure you have gotten better with your years, as well." He sits up a bit straighter, before taking a bite of the cake.

There's a happy rumble from Wray. "This is delicious."

Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra gives a look to him, a smile coming to her lips as she does, "No, I didn't...but I have been thinking of your past and what might be there, Wray." she admits that to him. Then she scoots over after her gives a happy rumble, thankful that the Asgardian approves of cake.

She gives a happy little clap of her hands, "Excellent, I was hoping it wasn't too simple." she explains.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
A smirk. "You should have some, please." He motions to the cake. "Or you can share mine?" He mentions, if she wants to dig in on the piece she sliced for him. "What stories have you thought of in my past, I wonder? Slaying dragons and such?" Wray winks.

"I'm certainly not opposed to remembering some of them - some I would rather leave in the past, of course."

Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra looks a bit bashful when he suggests sharing the piece, but she picks up her fork to take a little bit of it and eats it. "That is really good." she grins. "Wait...you've seen a dragon before?" she asks in a whisper.

"I mean...I found pieces of your axe in one of crusader war ruins. I figure you've seen enough violence and blood." she admits. "I'm not going to make you dredge up old memories." she adds softly.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
"There are good memories, Isra. I promise. But a lot of the more interesting ones, most people would say, lay in darker times of life." A shake of his head. "It is through adversity that we grow stronger, I have heard." A slight smile, nodding as she takes a bite of the cake. "So good." He agrees.

"Not quite a dragon, but large beasts of a similar ilk. Odin's army tended to fight all sorts of battles."

Isra Kosimar has posed:
Isra gives him a soft smile, "I'm sure you have quite the array of stories to tell." she grins. "I'd probably just keel over if I saw a dragon, I'm not going to lie." she laughs. "So we've got about ten minutes till totality of the eclipse and then we can either hang out or head home. I think traffic is going to be nuts so if you want to hang out I am more than happy to go walking or whatever you'd like." she tells him.

Wray Aleifrson has posed:
"So long as it doesn't get too cold for you?" He suggests. "I don't want you uncomfortable, of course." A smile and he stretches his legs out a bit. "How long will the totality last, do you believe? Or, rather, I am sure the scientists have a definite time span." Another bite of cake is enjoyed, and the piece is offered to her after.

"Science is so advanced these days."
