Born of Asgard, and living in secret on Midgard, Wray has lived a life of battle and war. The burden of his actions in war have turned him towards a life of peace and calm reflection. Timeline

Timeline:
* 907: Born to Aleifr and Gertrud in Asgard. Studied under his father to become a proper weaponsmith/blacksmith.
* 1001: Becomes a member of Asgard's guard. His prowess in battle is noted, as is his berzerker-style of fighting.
* 1090: Not sated with the wars in Asgard, Wray journeyed to Midgard to see the battles there.
* 1095 to 1291: Fought against the Christian forces throughout the Crusades of the Holy Land. Started using several identities throughout the time to avoid detection.
* 1295 to 1370: Returned to Asgard to continue fighting in the Asgardian army. His battle rage increased, causing him to perform vicious acts of savagery in combat.
* 1370: Returned to Midgard, the battle fatigue of the recent combats heavy on his heart.
* 1389: Fought for the Serbian forces. The Ottomans defeated the Serbs at the Battle of Kosovo, won control of the Balkans from the Danube to the Gulf of Corinth. His axe, Grufull Latter, was broken in a fight in Bulgaria where a piece of it was lost (and recovered by a very clever archaeologist in the 2010's).
* 1390: Stepped away from the Asgardian forces, shaken from the brutality he inflicted during his battles. Lived among those on Midgard, again using different aliases and identities and moving from region to region to avoid suspicion. Often worked as a blacksmith, avoided conflict as much as he could.
* 1792 to 1802: Drawn in to fight in the War of the First Coalition and the War of the Second Coalition in France also known as the French Revolutionary Wars.
* 1805: Traveled to the 'New World', America.
* 1861 to 1865: Fought for the North in the American Civil War against Slavery.
* 1900 to Now: Sworn off battle due to his past. Lives as a weaponsmith and 'historian' on wars and weapons in his new identities.

Personality

Dark Humor:
Wray has a bit of a dark sense of humor. He's not offensive, per say - but he certainly has a fondness for Schadenfreude.

Introverted:
He tends to keep to himself - he's more at home among smaller groups of people. Large events usually have him sitting against the wall, people-watching.

Relaxed:
In all his time fighting, Wray finally seems to have grasped that the better way to spend life is to relax and take things easy. He tends to avoid confrontations, unless there is no other way around things.

Character Sheet

Powers

Asgardian:
Wray is of the Aesir lineage of Asgard. His body is several times denser than a human from Midgard. At his peak, he can lift 15 tons over his head. Natural extremes of heat and cold bother them little. He can tolerate radiation, significant impact force, and shrug off penetrating wounds. His reflexes are somewhat faster than mortals, though his senses are not markedly superior.

Though they enjoy drinking, sleeping, and eating, Asgardians are creatures of magic and will not die of deprivation. They don't have a need to respirate, either. Like all the New Gods, the Asgardians benefit from the All-Speak in that they can understand, and be understood by, any creature of the realms of the Demiurge. They are formed from magic, and while injuries may appear superfluously similar to mortal wounds, the damage is more a mirror of a metaphysical injury. Healing an Asgardian requires magic, not medicine. They are conveniently immune to almost all pathogens and toxins of a non-mystical nature.

An average Asgardian will live to be several centuries old. The Royal Family and elite members of the court consume a golden apple from the tree Idunn, once per year. This attunes them to Asgard's harmony and prolongs their life and health significantly.

Minor Asgardian Magic:
Something that Wray is capable of, but not adept at is Asgardian Magic. His focus was more on battles and his smithing than trying to throw illusions.

Ursine Affinity:
Wray is able to communicate with bears, and understand their needs and demeanors. While he's not able to control them, they are more inclined to deal with him peacefully unless there are other mitigating factors.

Skills

Melee Training:
In his time among the Asgard military, Wray learned all manner of fighting technique with melee weapons. He prefers the bearded axe, but is familiar with swords, axes, maces and various polearms. His melee skill with his axes is near perfected.

Metallurgy:
Wray has a keen interest in metals from all over the world... and sometimes other worlds. He can tell you what metal something is made of or what year most times. He's learned a bit about forging uru metal from the dwarves. He's seen it forged and even helped as an apprentice would, but lacks the skill (not to mention a forge powered by the heart of a star) to forge it himself.

Smithing:
Even before he joined the Asgardian army, Wray was trained to be an artisan blacksmith by his father. He learned the basics, and then progressed onto creating finely-crafted weapons. While on Midgard, he continued his practice - incorporating many of the nuances of working with more mundane materials into his skillset.

Resources

Bearded Axes:
Wray aided the dwarves of Nidavellir in crafting for him a pair of matched bearded axes. Named Blod Smil and Grufull Latter, the two are forged of uru metal. However they have not been enchanted by a godlike being such as Mjolnir was. Their main attribute is being exceptionally durable, and he may use them to strike projectiles out of the air - in some instances even deflecting bolts of energy.

Fake Identities:
Wray has several fake identities set up along with resources over the centuries.

Living History:
Wray has lived all over the world during times of conflict and is very well versed in the happenings of history.

Well Off:
Wray has made sound money decisions over his lifetimes hiding among the Midgard folk - mostly saving his money and keeping frugal. He's got a good amount of money socked away, and lives comfortably. Nothing too extravagant, but he'd likely be upper middle class, or lower upper class.

Weaknesses

Anachronistic:
While Wray has been around Midgard for a long time, he still is baffled by modern technology and the new way of life. He's more comfortable around the less techie sort of people, and often struggles at working modern Midgard technology.

Battle Fatigue:
PTSD, Battle fatigue - whichever name you'd like to give it, Wray suffers from it. He is haunted by some of his actions in the various conflicts he's been in - as well as the brutal nature of the conflicts himself. He often has trouble sleeping, and will display more cautious paranoia when in large crowds or public places.

Berzerk:
One of the problems Wray faces is that when in battle, it is all too easy for the monster within to take over. He acts with savagery, brutality and without mercy. All that matters is victory, and the decimation of his enemy. While this is no problem for Wray in the moment, the memories haunt him after.

Hidden Heritage:
Wray is not open about his Asgardian Heritage as that would bring too much attention to him. This means building friendships and relationships is hard and sometimes dangerous.
