Synopsis: Warpath arrives to rescue a mutant from AIM, while Angela arrives with SHIELD agents to combat AIM. A monster is fought. A promise for a 'Hunt' made
Cast of Characters: James Proudstar, Aldrif Odinsdottir

James Proudstar has posed:
At an industrial park on the edge of the greater NYC metro, dusk casts an eerie backdrop with long shadows and a recently power surge has left the nearby street and parking lights flickering. The park is littered with machinery and seemingly abandoned warehouses, however in truth, this is a concealed compound for research conducted by the notorious Advanced Idea Mechanics. Splintered off from HYDRA, the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.

Today marks one of their many mistakes made in the pursuit of technological supremacy for the sake of world domination.

James is on the scene as Warpath responding to intelligence that AIM was holding a mutant for purposes of experimentation. The intelligence was right, but unfortunately, Warpath was too late.

A wall of a nearby warehouse abruptly collapses and a monstrosity standing twenty feet tall with three pairs of arms, pink mottled skin, and a tendril filled mouth is waving a half dozen scientists in its taloned hands. Things go poorly from the new victimized AIM personnel, some thrown, some smashed, another devoured. Security tries to respond with what appears to be laser rifles, but the weapons have no effect.

Warpath stands up from his perch on an adjacent warehouse, "Well shit."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela and two other SHIELD agents are on the nearby sidewalk observing the lights flickering. They seem to be a small team operating together. They cross the road and head into the park, "Yes, this way. We were correct. I can smell them," she mutters. She pauses on the edge of the park and glances amongst the buildings as Angela's group hears the monstrosity burst out.

Angela curses out loud and draws her big sword from aside her hip, balancing it in her hand. She is dressed for a hunt, as she expected. "You two stay here. We must not let it get past, at any cost," she tells them. The two smaller agents nod in agreement and take positions. Angela walks off, stalking toward the monster's position.

James Proudstar has posed:
Warpath's response to the outbreak of violence is a flying leap, literally flying because something seems off by the physics of his trajectory. He lands nearby the creature and holds up his hands, despite his towering height, the creature looms over him as it turns.

James starts with trying to reason with the creature, "I'm guessing you are Joseph?! Hold up there. I don't want to hurt you. I'm here to rescue you."

'Joseph' responds by biting the head off a screaming scientist. Warpath continues, "Well.. uh.. He had had that coming, but let's stop eating people.. It's not-"

The now free limb promptly backhands Warpath and sends him tumbling across the pavement of the parking lot until he crashes into the side of a parked van, caving it in.

Eyes narrowing, James stands and rubs his jaw. "Guess its going to be the hard way, huh?"

At this moment, he notices the agents and the sword-wielding Asgardian. "Getting crowded fast."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela lifts from her feet and soars forward, glancing at James as he careens past into the van. She then glances at a few other AIM scientsits who are running away like cowards, lest they be eaten by the creature, "Run! Run you dumb b&t&&!" one of them yells at Angela.

Angela frowns, taking him by the scruff of the yellow jumpsuit. She flings him over the dumpsters back towards the entrance to the park where her partners were waiting. She narrows her eyes at the other man, "Hey Hey wait!" he lets out until he too is flung away. The creature seems displeased Angela has taken his dinner.

James Proudstar has posed:
James crouches and pushes off in another flying-leap. This time his arm is reared back and just as abrupt as his flight began, it ends with a thunderous impact with the creature causing it to take a few steps backwards and howl with its tendril lined maw, sending a spray of saliva and remnant AIM scientist over Warpath.

He side-glances toward Angela, "I'm going to guess you know what you are doing. Just an FYI, I hope to take this guy alive."

The creature proves good at multi-tasking responding with its multiple limbs, some grasping at Warpath, locking him into a clutch. The others swatting and clawing at the Asgardian huntress.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela raises her sword and pauses in mid-air as James zips past into the creature. She frowns as he manages to stop it from surging forward, "No, it is a hellspawn birthed from evil experiments," she says simply, probably having already made up her mind that this thing must die,

"It must not escape the park," Angela intones solemnly, "We are wasting time." She zips backwards to thwap away the limbs reaching for her and arcs down to bat away the ones after Warpath too, "Come! We must rush in! Distract it whilst I stab it!" she suggests.

James Proudstar has posed:
The creature leans forward and wraps some of its tentacles around James' arms. It tugs with limbs and snaps with its maw yet the large mutant seems to be in control of the grapple. He hisses, "He's just as much victim as monster. Just another mutant some rich bastards decided to turn into a science experiment."

He leans back and tugs managing to bring the creature off its feet and toppling over head into a slam that creates a crater in the concrete. It shudders dazed releasing Warpath then proceeds to scramble and flail back to its feet offering another roar.

James grabs one of its wrists and swings behind it, grabbing another arm and planting a big boot into its back. He wrenches the limbs back to pin the creature. "Stab it somewhere non-vital! If it bleed it a little.. maybe... we can weaken it... knock it out."

He grunts in between words, even his impressive strength struggling with the monster.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela doesn't look very pleased Warpath is so nice to the creature rampaging in the industrial park, "You hath too kind a heart, young one!" she lets out. She grimaces as she contemplates the new, improved Angela stabby motions and sighs, "Yes, hold it!" she announces, resisting the urge to chop off its limbs flailing around dangerous.

Angela arcs around in the air and lands near Warpath, driving her sword down into the creature's "non-vital" shoulder. Her big honkin sword should go through the creature and possibly pin it to the concrete, as well as making it bleed quite a bit.

James Proudstar has posed:
And so the blade doth penetrate the flesh of the beast and pin it to the concrete slab. It howls in pain and ichor sprays beneath it. James releases his hold on the creatures limbs and joins Angela daring to lay hands on the hilt and guard of the blade before assisting with driving it further into the ground, further pinning the creature.

He then proceeds to punch Joseph in the side of the head, each strike responded to with a snail or howl. Yet, he is undeterred. The 'kind hearted youth' seems in truth fairly savage, he beats the creature until it stops complaining, groans, and then falls unconscious.

"There... not so bad, huh?" He wipes blood off his face.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela raises her chin in a stoic way, watching as Warpath strolls pass to punch the creature in a fearless way, "Yes, tis a good beating," she says and smiles amusedly, probably aware she was wrong about leaping to conclusions about this young man. She withdraws her sword after the creature passes out, "And yet it will live," she frowns, "Where wilt you take this thing...?" she wonders.

Angela raises her hand and waves to the two SHIELD agents, calling out that everything is okay. She climbs down off the creature and walks to Warpath, "You hath...a little something," she comments amusedly, motioning to the blood on his face. Of course, blood is just about everywhere, even on her too!

James Proudstar has posed:
Warpath beams a little bit as the fight is described as a 'Good beating'. He stands fully and glances around. Finding the remnant of a lab coat, he rips off a chuck of fabric and proceeds to wipe his face and arms.

"I... uh... I know someone who is particularly good with genetics, and has an excellent lab. I can't quite divulge all the particulars though. I'm sure you understand." He offers a faint smile.

"I'm Warpath of the X-men. Can't say I recognize you, just maybe a little bit of the style." He admits.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela replaces her sword at her side and nods to what he says about his genetics friends, "I see," she muttters. She motions to herself, "I am Angela, of Heven," she explains to him, "I tend to go where the trouble is," she says and smiles faintly too. She doesn't explain that she sometimes is the cause of the trouble!

Angela waves again to the SHIELD agents as they call out, and leave to give a report, "Mine human partners sometimes need expertise and strength," She says, motioning to the government agents who are leaving.

James Proudstar has posed:
James frowns at the g-men who are Angela's partners. Something about his own senses pick them out as SHIELD, and while the folks at the mansion have been on good terms thanks to a certain Marvel, there's plenty of reason to be suspicious of the government.

Reaching up to his ear, he speaks into a sub-mic. "Mission is a success, need recovery and medical attention for the victim."

He then nods to Angela, "Guess we are in the same line of business. You seem to handle that sword very well."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela looks down at the sword and then up at Warpath again, "Xiphos always comes through," she smiles, as she snatches the fabric from him to wipe the blood from herself too. She then tilts her head as he speaks to his people, maybe like she's done as well, "The same line of business? Seems the similarities are endless. Your strength is a great talent," she comments. She then motions to the AIM secret warehouse that's mostly rubble now, "Everyone but two hast perished or fled. Mine partners have them in custody," she explains.

James Proudstar has posed:
James nods in appreciation, "Good, hope your prosecute them as far as you can, and keep them from doing this again."

Warpath gazes down at a arm and flexes a bicep. "Mutant gifts cultivated by a lot of training and a really tough instructor. Got to do something with it."

"Not my only talent though." He pats a pair of large knife sheathes positioned on his hips. "When my opponent isn't also the objective, I prefer to draw weapons and end things quickly."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela smiles more now that he's talking about knives (closest thing to swords) and baps him on the shoulder amusedly, "Ha! Aggressive! Excellent! We should trade blows!" she lets out and chuckles, "The hunt is my favorite activity!" she announces.

Angela chuckles as he continues on, "Do not show off too much, my new friend!" she adds. She moves next to him and flexes her bicep too comparatively, of course showing off too. She stops after a few minutes and chuckles, "Are we to be rivals?" she wonders.

James Proudstar has posed:
James considers her for a moment and takes note of the bicep. "I consider myself a hunter too. There are many skills that my ancestors cultivated that I proudly practice."

He seems a little taken back at the term 'rival', "Not necessarily looking for extra enemies or opponents, but I'm always looking to work on my edge. If you want to quote unquote 'Trade Blows' sometime, I would welcome the challenge. Assuming you are sure you can keep up?"

He offers a cocky grin and plants his hands on his hips, standing at his impressive seven something. He would be imposing to most, but perhaps not so much to an Asgardian.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela seems taken aback that he (a human) might suggest she not be on the same level as him, "You dare suggest such a thing?" she asks but smiles as she's only joking, "Yes yes, alright, very well. We will take on a challenge together. Ha! One worthy of us both!" she lets out, apparently quite pleased at this little challenge suggestion.

Angela is actually quite tall like Warpath especially with her combat boots on, and she shakes her head. She says in a more serious tone, "Yes, perhaps we can also find ways of bringing greater success to missions."

James Proudstar has posed:
"Yes, I dare suggest such a thing." James offer stoically, broad arms crossing overly his equally broad chest. His chin raising in playful pride accompanied by his grin. "What kind of challenge are you thinking? If you consider yourself a hunter, perhaps a game of tag in the wilderness."

He considers, "I don't mind making more powerful friends especially if they've got the right motives. What exactly do you fight for? Aren't your people like... far far away?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela raises her chin, "Ah, I have much to tell you. You see, this is my home now. I am from Heven, and my sisters are cut off from all the realms. The Angels---the greatest of warriors," she explains to him, "Yes tis true I might share things in common with others from far away, but they can go back to their home. I cannot. So I fight only for myself," she mutters.

Angela shakes her head, "Don't think me selfish. It is what I am. I hunt to continue as a warrior," she says and nods her head with her own affirmation, "As you obviously do not hide your talents as well. You and I---we cannot hide what we are, so I just continue on. Yes I throw in a hand too, seems helpful," she shrugs.

James Proudstar has posed:
James takes a moment to consider her offer and during this moment of pensiveness, there is a brief moment when something appears to teleport in and just as quickly teleport out with the body of Joseph.

Warpath speaks into his sub-mic. "Smooth." He then laughs and reengages with Angela. "An actual Angel, huh? Greatest of Warriors?"

He grins, "Well, I hope to be one of the Greatest warriors myself, so definitely sounds like a good opportunity. I'm sure we can learn from each other. And yea, I kind of struggle hiding what I am. Not as badly as most, but just through height alone, I stick out."

"As for fighting only for yourself, my mentors would say you should find a nobler cause then fighting for the sake of fighting. Not that I have always agreed with them." He admits.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela glances over and watches Warpath's people take away the mutant, leaving them in the dark again. "You have a gift and I am pleased to fight with you---" she begins and her little SHIELD beeper goes off. She reads the message and replaces it on her sword belt.

"Yes, maybe you are right," Angela suggests and smiles, "Tis why I have thrown in with these humans. And some others. Yes, it's true so I guess I should not say alone for myself."

James Proudstar has posed:
James reaches into his combat suit and produces what amounts to business card. Its really just a phone number in plain print. He offers it casually to the Angel of Heven.

"If you need to reach me, that goes to a burner. Let me know when you are ready for a challenge or a match... or if you are having trouble with mutants. That's who I fight for." He smiles a little, "Good to hear you have a cause after all."

"Wouldn't happen to ever go out on the town for fun? I'm kind of strapped for dancing partners. The 'Women of Earth' tend to be a little short in comparison." He still had a foot on Angela, but it seemed normal by comparison.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela leans up on her tiptoes, "Ha! I will get my heels!" she lets out amusedly but grimaces quickly, "But dancing ... uhhh, fun?" she wonders and narrows her eyes, wondering what to say about dancing around like she's never done before.

"Ah! I know, we will celebrate our victory after...our hunt," Angela suggests and smiles, which is really her mindset. She takes the paper and saves it, "Very good, I will see you soon."

James Proudstar has posed:
"Don't get mopey when I lay your ass out." Warpath declares in defiance and then nods to her. "Well, until we meet again, on the battlefield or off."

With a flex of his legs and a push, he leaps into the air in a mighty bound before some other forces takes hold of him and brings him into full flight. He then starts the long task of taking an indirect route back toward the mansion. No need to bring trouble home.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela smirks a bit as he promises to lay her ass out, and she can only laugh at his antics. "Farewell," she says quietly. She looks up and watches him go, then turns about and flies off too, streaking up into the sky and out of sight.
