Cast of Characters: Alexander Aaron, Candace Hill

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander is a young man, slightly taller than average but otherwise unremarkable save his uncanny eyes; which appear to house something or keep something at bay. He is dressed ordinarily but there is a little blood on his t-shirt, just below the neck line. It has no obvious origin, his face and neck appear pristine and unharmed. He is holding a picket sign, but its hard to tell if his heart is in it, as the sign is held low whilst others shake theirs. His says something mildly coy: ".01, decimate the 1".

Despite this he remains in the middle of group, somehow managing to keep to himself and stick out like a sore thumb at the same time.

Candace Hill has posed:
Today is a wild day. The people protesting are against the upper class people who are doing nothing to help the lower classes. The rich getting richer, the poor just suffer. People are chanting, "We Are The 99%!" Thankfully there are no anti-protesters here. It is just a simple peaceful protest which is good. One girl is hanging back and sitting at a table. There is a few posters on the table, condemning the 1% but the brunette sitting there isn't up actively protesting. Instead, she is there with documentation for people to read, water for the protesters, and a large first aid kit just in case.

The dark haired girl smiles and shouts out, "Stop the 1%. We are the 99%!" She offers paperwork pointing out why they are protesting to anyone passing by. "The Rich will keep getting richer and the rest of us will die!" A little extreme but when all the money is at the top, whats going to happen to people at the bottom?

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander Aaron rested his sign against the table that the dark haired girl was distributing pamphlets at. Then he just sat down on the ground beside her, facing the same direction she was but without the table obstructing his view. He unlaced his sneakers and removed them, and then rubbed his aching feet through white socks with little stripes on the ankles. "We need like..." he explained as if he thought she cared, "...a gigantic labor union. What's the bit with the proletariat controlling the means of production? Communism? Am I allowed to say that word?"

Candace Hill has posed:
"Oh yeah you are allowed. Most of the people here are technically communist. We all want the workers to control the means of production." She smiles. "A Labor union of that size could easily be corrupted. A bunch of smaller unions where they work directly with the different fields of labor would work best. One for fast food workers, one for people who work in customer service. All across the grid." She smiles.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Candace." She shuffles several pamphlets before looking up. "Oh dear." Just in time to spy the police arriving. "Well this just got a lot more tense." She winces and goes for her first aid kit. She quickly gets it ready and then opens a cooler that was beside her and gets out a gallon of milk. "I hope this doesn't go bad but I'm ready if it does."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander realised he hadn't actually looked at whomever he was talking to yet, failing his basic social graces he hadn't introduced himself either. "Alex." he remedied. He followed her gaze to the cops and blanched a bit, then he watched her arm herself with a gallon of moo-juice. Then a suspicious look overcame him and he blurted out, "Did you bring donuts?" he tried to get his shoes on as quickly as he removed them, and rose up with untied laces, grabbing his sign to wield like an axe. "Whats the milk for?" he murmured interrogatively.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace frowns, "Milk is for if the police decide to start pepper spraying people. Milk neutralizes the capsaicin in the spray." She frowns again. "I wish I didn't need to bring it to protests but sometimes cops don't play nice."

The crowd continues to protest, not preparing the way Candace is. But this is her job. She helps keep people patched up. At least thats today. As the cops approach, they use a megaphone, "You are hereby ordered to disperse. You are becoming a disruption to the public." One of them states.

Candace shakes her head. "We got a permit to protest today. We are allowed to be here. This is exactly why we are protesting." She comments as she stands up and looks at the crowd to see what they are gonna do.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander Aaron is probably here as part of the NYU crew, some classmates of his among the crowd. They came ready for action but with a healthy dose of ecumenical knowledge about how the law works on paper, the reality of how cops behave about to hit them. "Why don't they have anything better to do?" he wondered in a vaguely plaintive voice. He clearly didn't know about the milk. He look toward the cops, something awful in his eyes straining out of them, when he spoke it was it was with the voice of 4 people, all speaking in the same meter with discordant tone, he was sort of stage whispering but she could hear him. "Each of these students is the son or daughter of a US Senator, you will be placed on administrative leave pending action, your early retirement is significantly at risk."

It was like he was speaking to the cops or, almost, into them. The alarm spread across the New Yorks Finest, some of their ears seemed to open up, they could hear and respond to the protestors who were now standing them up with shouts of opposition.

Candace Hill has posed:
The Police are promptly put into disarray. More than half of them have moved to join the Protestors and are adding their voice to the crowds. It is quite the impressive thing to see. Especially for Candace. She had never seen anything like this happen in her time protesting. She looks to Alex and smiles. "This is a first! I've never seen the police actually turn on themselves before!" She can't help but laugh a little bit. It sure beats helping screaming people trying to get pepper spray out of their eyes.

Candace isn't the only one to notice something is wrong, however. The remaining cops who have somehow resisted the hypnotic suggestion given to them begin to re-organize themselves. "Hey! This isn't right! The Bosses ain't gonna like this!" One of the people who switched sides was the man with the megaphone. He just happened to be a captain. "Captain! We need to stop this protest not join them!" Its no good. The Police-Protestors shout all the louder.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander Aaron glanced to Candice and then back to the crowd, "You do a lot of these?" he asked of her, but he assumed she did and it was obvious rhetoric. "Maybe you have one of those megaphones? How does this end?" he seemed concerned now, like maybe he was filled with impulsive regret now, or he could see a vision of this all going wrong and every bit of it being his fault. "Make everyone go home." he asked of her.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace winces and nods. "Oh..." She looks at Alex and gets a feeling he did something. She doesn't know what but the look in Alex's eyes tells her this is serious. Quickly she moves up to the guy with the megaphone. "We need to go. Things are about to go bad if we don't." She explains to him. The nervous tone in her voice is enough to convey how bad it is about to get.

The man nods to Candace. He's not ready to go but he is worried. Quickly he raises the megaphone, "Alright, you heard the cops. Time to break it up. Time to go home. I know this was scheduled for another hour but for your own safety, we need to go home."

With that the group starts breaking up. The turned cops start shaking off what happened to them but are more than content to head out. After all, most of them were doing something against who they were being paid by.

Candace starts taking down her table. She puts the milk back in the cooler and packs up the brochures that she had. "So what happened?" She asks Alex as she breaks down her table. "Guessing you're some kind of magician or something?" She asks curiously.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Nah, nothing like that." he murmured, trying to be useful in her exodus and pick things up. He glanced over the crown, relief washing over him in waves. "You said your name was Candice right, my name is Alex." he said distractedly, not realizing he'd already introduced himself. "Hey uh, see you around ok?" and looked ready to make a hasty retreat of his own.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace nods, "You've already said that." Then he excuses himself. "Oh okay. See you around." Candace begins gathering her things and carrying them off to a grey SUV. She has to make multiple trips but thats okay. She is going to have to answer some questions later and she isn't exactly going to have the answers for them. For most she will just look a bit like she got spooked which for her is something really surprising. Still it will be a quiet night.
