Date of Scene: 21 May 2024
Location: The Fields Near Amalgamated Manufacturing Building, NYC
Synopsis: Mary Jane, Joan and Shun chat as the remains of a crashed quinjet gets summoned together for collection.
Cast of Characters: Joan Wright, Mary Jane Watson, Shun Cruz

Joan Wright has posed:
While news covers the story of wrecking crews and building explosions, the recovery process is running under a much smaller spotlight. Namely none at all. A perimeter has been set up around the disaster area and no one except those closest to the location are allowed in. And in some weird turn of event, that includes the Federal Branch of Damage Control.

Yeesh.

What on EARTH did they have going on in that area?

Either way the Executive Branch Agency find themselves relegated not at the site of the building but in the fields surrounding. Picking up whatever the heck landed there.

Dressed in her resist Weave attired outfit showing a high visibility black, green, yellow, and gray color scheme, it is hard to miss the architect as Joan walks along the fields. And if that was not visible enough, a little pink and blue roomba-ish bot is floating along behind her.

Mostly. Bailey Bot is occasionally zooting from side to side, seemingly scanning the ground for anything of notice. While the human element of this partnership is moving to the visible remains of a quinjet.

"...Well, at least this trip won't be a total waste of our time."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Well, this is never fun. She's not quite sure how salvage rights go. Does Damage Control keep it and then sell it back? Or once recovery is done is there some sort of bounty paid? Given it's otherwise a craft owned by SHIELD or some affiliated group, that means that at least there's an official 'watcher' present.

In this case it's Mary Jane, whom is otherwise very bored looking on but not showing it. She goes to let out a sigh otherwise and dips her head.

"Make sure you've flicked off the power cells in it first. I think they're hydrogen based?"

Shun Cruz has posed:
Shun had tagged along with his old man. Warren Cruz worked with the VA. One of the Damage Control employees was being checked up on. That they were being given the run around on where the guy was supposed to be had father and son worried. Especially for a veteran.

Their last stop was out to the field where the Quinjet was and supposedly the person they were looking for was supposed to be out there. No dice, so Warren heads back to the car to get notes and make calls while Shun is just as happy to wander around the site.

That he seemingly pops up out of no where over the newly made rise of the crash is probably just as weird, but who wouldn't want to sneak in and get a better look?

The teenager blinks as he sees some other people already here. "Um. Hey?" Wind blowing in his hair, and his green eyes looking over the wreck with appreciation and awe if nothing else.

Joan Wright has posed:
As Joan and the tiny bot come up, the Architect looks over to the awaiting Mary Jane, giving a nod of thanks to the general advice. "Thank you." Joan acknowledges out loud while looking to the bot. "Bailey, will you make sure that the power is completely shut off?"

The little bot lifts up a manipulator, giving a general gesture which means...

Well-

Uh.

Oh the bot is zooting towards the quinjet so it must mean 'yes'.

While the bot does her thing, Joan does hers, looking to the the jet, and visually assessing what appears to be missing.

...It might need the rest of its wing.

"Seems like you guys have been busy." Joan comments to Mary Jane before hearing the voice behind them. Joan turns to look to Tekkai.

...

Joan looks to MJ, "You guys are recruiting them younger and younger now, aren't you?" she jokes, before looking back to Tekkai. "Hello... How did you get out here?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would shrug over, "Well, I dunno, I think that I've had a cuople of years." She would quip. "And you're not that much older than I am." Just six or seven years! Okay, maybe a little more. But she wasn't one of those girls that went on about 'you're over thirty and you're ancient'. Glancing over at Tekkai.

"Exactly what it looks like." Turning her attention over to Joan. "Also I take it you've already checked the munitions? I'm not sure what the oladout was but sometimes there can be weird safeties involved on them. You have the shutdown codes?"

Shun Cruz has posed:
Tekkai shrugs, "Old man's looking for someone that works for your organization, I think? VA check in? I'm just a tag along."

He walks down the rise, shaking his head, "Tech these days... wonder when we get flying cars? Um... I'm Shun, and uh... hope I won't get in trouble? Couldn't resist a closer look, you know?"

No uniform, just a teenager who's honestly looking it all over. He doesn't even have a cellphone.

And the idea of munitions? That has him looking over at the two again. "Woah, hold up, that thing's possibly armed?"

Joan Wright has posed:
Joan tilts her head over to the little bot that is zooting around the machine. "She's got it." Joan responds, "Although I will admit it's been awhile since the last quinjet related crash call. A few helicopters, yes but you guys tend to take better care of your equipment."

The Architect looks over to Tekkai, "If he is looking for someone with our group he should be looking towards the main cluster of persons down that way." Her hand gestures to the left. "Generally I'm given a wide radius to do my job. Which I can't really do effectively if people are sitting on the items that need to be put back together."

Joan gives a sigh as she scans the area in the general area of the quin's landing site. Looking for the other part of the wing while she's having to wait for those blocking her path. "I generally prefer NOT impaling someone."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would sigh, "They do that pretty often." The joys of being a hypersonic stealth transport. Very, very fast but also rather delicate and not fully armored, or designed for combat. "And there are already flying cards. They're not just common due to the FAA and some rather strict regulations on them. Nothing has met mass production standards on a level that's cost efficient and still adheres to regulations. At least none that have gotten approval." She would quip.

"Given how amazing most humans are when it comes to two dimensional awareness, imagine what most are like in three. So it all has to be AI and those tend to not always be stable?" Sentient robot goes on rampage to kill all humans, film at eleven.

Shun Cruz has posed:
Shun decides to be a little helpful. He points off in a direction, "I think I saw a part off that way. Not sure if it was the wing."

"And we did, lady. We've been trying to figure out where the vet's at all day. It's got my old man worried." He says.

A wince comes from him as he reaches up to rub the side of his forehead. "Ow... um... sorry... small headache..." He has an eye closed, but does happen to glance between the two. Back and forth before settling on Mary Jane.

Joan Wright has posed:
"Oh really?" Joan comments, "Hmm. Maybe they're even rarer to me is because my specialty is more in historic and governmental buildings."

Joan turns her head to look in the direction Shun indicated. An assessing look is given back to the main part of the wreckage before she turns once more. Then to the sky. "Alright then... When Bailey's done locking down the quin, could you two please stand about ten feet to this side of me?" A hand gestures to her right. "I'll be going slow just in case. On the off chance you feel something poking you- please give it right of way."

Off to the quinjet, two manipulators lift up in a yatta manner before the flying roomba zoots on back towards the trio.

"Well, he's not over here." Joan comments, "...You could go to headquarters and have them summon them in."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would go to takea few steps back even while being out of the blast zone. "Yes, if things cook off over in there you really want to make sure you have some cover." Damage Control has a good reputation, so there's not going to be any issue. But it's good to always take precautions! Even as Mary Jane goes to get ready to get some debris between her and it just to err on the safe side. She looks rather relaxed despite everything while paying attention to the civilian. "And everything all right, Sir?"

Shun Cruz has posed:
"Um... yes, ma'am?" He seems just a little annoyed by something, then looks to Joan. Well, she pointed where to go. So Shun moves that way.

"Um... what happens if we're nearer or farther than 10 feet?" He asks.

Shun is just looking at it all in wonder. Then there's a buzz from his pocket and he reaches to pull out his cellphone, keeping the camera pointed down just in case. "Dad's trying to contact your main office and find out what's going on, I guess. Said to be back in like 30."

Shun puts his phone away after typing some things. Then he looks to Mary Jane, "So, you an agent or something? And you're not going to wave some flashy thing and make me forget stuff, are you?"

Joan Wright has posed:
"You can be further than ten feet." Joan allows, "But I would not recommend being within 10 feet of me or on the opposite side because that's where the pieces will be flying."

Wait.. what?

Bailey flies over the suggested distance, seemingly observing mary Jane and Shun before the bot flies down and uses a manipulator to draw a line in the dirt before pointing to the other side with a decisive boop.

"Thank you Bailey."

Beep Boop.

"If you see something raise up near you. Make sure not to be standing between it and me. I will go slow."

Joan takes a moment to watch the others. And once she's certain they have moved out of a bad area, She turns back to the quinjet, looking to it, the wing, and then to the ground at her feet. Eyes close for a moment before she takes a breath.

Fingers curling inwards on each hand to mimick the shape of guns, she starts to swirl the pointer finger on her right hand.

Off to the area Shun indicated, the piece of wing starts rising into the air. But there's also the glimmer of light catching on several smaller objects in the area that have also deemed it to be the time to RISE UP.

Shun Cruz has posed:
Shun looks confused, "Pieces flying? Oookay..." He moves to past the ten feet line from Joan.

And well, has to duck down as he sees some of the pieces rising up.

Then he's crouching down to watch the show. "That's cool! How are you doing that?" He asks.

An excited teenager watching the crazy... flying stuff? Rising stuff? Yep. Hard to say at this point.

Joan Wright has posed:
The pieces hover in place as Joan stills her fingers. Head turning round, she takes note of where items are in relation to Mary Jane and Shun. There's a gentle beckoning as she doesn't answer Shun's question. Her mind seems focused on something else entirely.

As the pieces gather in, they seem to start orbiting Joan, including the large piece of wing which seems like it's about to hit her mid orbit only for it to roll in position to keep anything from making contact. Another glance is given round before the left finger gun flicks in the direction of the quinjet while the right continues its swirling motion. With each flick, an item from the sphere around her shoots over to the aircraft, sometimes making sharp turns to go set into the place it once belonged.

The wing is one of the last pieces, followed more by smaller fragments of the very wing. Save for the odd lines indicating where the breaks were located . The quinjet looks complete.

Joan looks over to Mary Jane. "I still wouldn't fly it in the condition its in. But at least all the parts will be there for the mechanics to work with. Well, once this gets transported."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would glance over, "Well, I don't think anyone's going to fly it. It might get used for spare parts or be a hangar queen. But it'll need some heavy reconditioning before anyone does anything with it." QUinjets were extremely delicate, and salvage only went so far. But she was far from a mechanic or a flight technician. So it could very well go a completely different way.

"And a Launchpad happened here, and this i being swept up in a big dustbin." She would quip over at the smashed up pile being deftly picked up and piled over.

Shun Cruz has posed:
The flying parts has Shun making sure he stays low, and looking ready to start running whichever direction said parts are not coming from if they fly his way beyond just that wing.

The teen says towards Mary Jane, "That's a hell of a dust bin."

Joan Wright has posed:
Joan looks over to what looks like a visibly whole quinjet. Wing reattached, stray parts firmy affixed where they once were. "I'll undo the effects once it finishes transport." Joan explains, reaching into her pocket to pull out a phone, keying up a few things. "...Unfortunately this may be all we can do. Being they're not letting us near the blast site to even attempt to clean up."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod, "It has classified components and possibly a lot of things that will need disarmed or be hazardous. They have to check it for leakage.. And you don't want to have your guys out there in hazmat suits."

Shun Cruz has posed:
Shun gives a few nods at that one.

"Um... ok..." Then his phone buzzes again, "Oh! Gotta go, I guess. Dad's probably waiting for me."

He waves to the two, then turns to start jogging over the rise and apparently back the way he came.

"Sorry I can't stick around! Thanks for not killing me!" He calls back.

Joan Wright has posed:
Joan looks over to Mary Jane. "True." She comments with a sigh as she looks back to the phone, "They do tend to be uncomfortable." Another press of the phone and it lowers. "... Alright. Now all there is left to do is wait."

As Shun starts to run off, Joan looks tot he fleeing figure.

"I do believe that's the first time I've ever been thanked for that."
