Character Info
Profile
Joan is an adult mutant with the ability to put disassembled things back together by commanding the parts to return back to where they were. She works as a Restoration Architect for Damage Control but her duties may change depending on the nature of the job. She also likes LEGOs.
Timeline
Timeline:
* 1994 - Born in Milton, MA to Norma Blanchard Fuller-Wright (an Architect) and Philip Theodore Wright (History Professor)
* 2009 - Exhibited the first sign of powers when trying to assemble the 2007 version of the LEGO Millennium Falcon (Dad got it for her birthday). She was almost done when she decided to take a break and accidentally knocked it off the table, causing for it to break apart when it fell on the floor. Before she was done cursing, the pieces joined back together to where they once were.
* 2010 - Norma is offered a substantial increase in pay to justify moving the entire family to New York. Philip ends up getting a position at Gotham University.
* 2012 - Graduated High School, starts pursing education at Columbia University's college of Arts and Sciences
* 2016 - Completed Urban Design and Architecture Studies Bachelor's Degree
* 2019 - Completed Historical and Sustainable Architecture Masters of the Arts
* 2020 - Employed as a Restoration Architect at Damage Control

Personality
Friendly:
While she prefers someone else having the spotlight and not being the center of attention, she is outgoing enough to start a conversation with strangers in order to get to know them or to make people feel welcome
Hands On:
Joan has been a hands on person most of her life. It relaxes her, and there's nothing more rewarding than knowing you physically created or saved something. That said, she prefers fixing things the normal way over using her powers. But in a pinch where the situation calls for it, she'll use it.
Lego Addict:
Everyone has their vices and for Joan, it is LEGOs. If there is a newly released building kit out there, she's likely to drop what she's doing to track it down, and buy it. She also likes to design her own items out of LEGOs and then assemble them. It's gotten to a point where she has a ROOM in her home dedicated to them.
Loves History:
It's not that the item is old that interests Joan, it's the stories that come with it. Older architecture is a testament to the visual preferences of those long ago, features that are considered odd now may have had a true purpose back then and the visual reminder may be enough to keep people from forgetting.
Organized:
Everything has a place and with a lot of her education consisting of being able to tell people where things go. You bet that also applys to things in her personal life.
Supporting:
She's happy with other persons getting the spotlight and just doing her own personal magic in the background.
Character Sheet
Powers
Put It Together:
Joan has the ability to put disassembled things back together by just commanding the pieces to return back to where they were. They will stay together.
Take It Apart:
If Joan used her ability to reassemble something, she can use her ability again to essentially disassemble the pieces. This can be useful in times where a quick fix was needed in order to prevent catastrophe but now that time is on their side, they can go back and do things right.
Take the Long Way Around:
If Joan happens to be standing in the way of where a part needs to go, the part will essentially orbit around Joan until it can get to where it needs to go.
The Limitations:
She can't restore parts that are burnt up or disentigrated. If a house was caught in a fire and the flames were put out. The portions that were burnt away would still be missing. She could reassemble what's left. Like a 10,000 piece puzzle with that one hole in the center just teasing you.
While technically she could command electrical wiring to go back where they came from, if they're off a little, that can cause problems. She'd still prefer an electrician have a look over on that to make sure no one is going to electrocute themselves.
Even with a power like hers, she can't do everything at once. As with multi-tasking, the more you try to do at the same time, the crapier the results will probably be all around.
This does not work on the living or body tissue. No, Joan has not tried to confirm this because, ew.
Skills
Architecture:
Having been raised by an Architect and pursuing an education on it, Joan has a very good understanding of this topic. Very good being this is basically her job.
Education:
When it comes to studies, Joan is no slouch. Also she has the added benefit of two college educated parents, one of which an educator himself, who had an active interest in her upbringing. She did well in schoool, enough to the point where scholarships and grants paid for most of her college education. She's also got some degrees she can actually use when it comes to architecture and restoration.
Good With Her Hands:
When it comes to assembling things, she is good at what she does.
Planning:
Everything has a time and a place and she's very good at discerning what those values are.
Resources
Bailey Bot:
Of Ted Kord's bots, Joan has unarguably formed a bond with them with her constant exposure to them. One of them is the smallest bot, Bailey. This little bot has taken to following Joan around, inherited her love of LEGOs, and has effectively become an assistant to her. The bot is capable of flight, fitting into small places, doing minor repairs, and having a very expressive means of communication via its movements and a text interface to Joan's phone. Just whatever you do, don't call her an 'it' or 'he'. She identifies as female.
Financial Strength:
She may have finished her master's recently but with very little in terms of student debt, a home already provided, and the well off nature of her parents, she is not in want of money.
Lego Room:
What does one do with an extra room? For Joan, it houses an extensive Lego collection. Bins are sorted out by color and a few of the collectors building kits are fully assembled and on display on the top shelves. That durn Millennium Falcon is there too.
ResistWeave Uniform:
Designed and created by Ted Kord just for her, Joan has her own Resist Weave uniform which protects from cuts, punctures, handgun rounds and insulates against fire and electricity. Hand wash only. To avoid being mistaken for hero types, the color scheme chosen takes inspiration of a high visibility color scheme of a construction site. Since the suit itself can't have pockets, it comes with an outer layer of grey striped material where plenty of pouches attached to those. This comes in handy with carrying the various tools she needs at a site. The purpose of the suit is to use for extremely high risk scenarios, which basically describes most Damage Control repair site scenarios.
Supportive Parents:
College educated, Still together, Financially well off with some stable roots, Joan was already fortunate starting off. But the supportive nature of her parents became more apparent as they eventually found out about her ability and actually encouraged her to practice them. So long as it didn't interfere with her studies of course. If she still needs a pep talk, they're not that far away.
Tudor Home:
Oh my gosh how on earth did she manage this? Well, her mom has ways of finding these places. This house was a textbook definition of fixer upper when the family acquired it. And being Joan likes fixing things. That makes it her dream home for now. Joan is gradually trying to get this place back to its former glory. And who knows? Maybe in a few months, that third bedroom will be rentable.
Weaknesses
Mortal:
She may be a mutant but she can be killed. She also doesn't have any healing abilities so injuries are going to be problematic. She can get sick and tired. Basically anything an average human can.
Ooh Shiny!:
If LEGO releases a really awesome building kit or she just happens to comes across a really interesting looking building she hasn't seen before and she's allowed inside, she's likely to drop whatever she was currently doing to focus on checking that out.
Parents:
Joan's parents are awesome. They are perfectly suited for her and she loves them a lot. And while they may not live together in the same city, they are pretty close. She probably would not do well if something were to happen to them.
