Well, Jennifer suggested that they do an outing that was something different that didn't involve shopping, gaming, or anything terribly nerdy. So Mary was down with that, and did a little bit of research. And she came up with something that she thought would be pretty cool.

Belly dancing!

So, she was waiting outside the dance studio, gym bag slung over her shoulder as she wasn't sure what exactly she'd need for clothing, but was dressed pretty casually with a pair of shorts and a rather nerdy T-shirt (this one being a Moira Balrogs 'sports' logo) as she was waiting for Jen to show up. Her lips were curled in a wry grin as she took a quick selfie.

If nothing else, the Contrarians that followed her were going to get a pretty good kick about this!

Jen showed up via an Uber not too much later, wearing yoga pants and a halter top with a big lip-print design on her chest. "Hey!" she said as she made her way over to where Mary was waiting. Jen took shameless advantage of her height - as she was wont to do - to slide in and steal a hug from the bigger woman. Then, careful of nearby ears, she told Mary "You need to wear shorts more often. Rawr." with a smirk on her face.

Mary laughs, "I'll keep that in mind, Jen. Come on, let's go give this a shot and see how it goes." With that, she walks in, not quite knowing what to expect when she walks in...

And there's a group of about four other women standing there, wearing a variety of workout clothing. Most of them older than Mary and Jen as they all smile and wave at the pair, and Mary friendly as she is smiles and waves back, "Hey, this is the starting night for the class right? Six weeks?" With that, the instructor waves them over, "Oh, you must be Mary and Jen, come on in, we were waiting for you! Gather around and let's get started."

Jen was _so_ ready for this. She had a dance background, but nothing like _this_. Dance as a part of the toddlers and tiaras circuit was more formal and stuffy. She almost skipped to her place in line, holding her hands behind her back to juice a little good luck.

Just in case.

"I am so excited!" Jen near-squealed as she bounced on her toes. And assuming they weren't too wrecked from class maybe they could grab a bite after. Or just retire to rest up, drink beer, and chill on the couch.

Mary smiles, "Yeah, I'm feeling really hyped!" The instructor grinned, "Great to hear. Okay, class. We're going to get started with some really basic moves. Nothing /too/ complicated, because we're all here to have a good time and learn how to express ourselves in a whole new way, okay?"

With that, the instructor then clapped her hands, "So, ready to get started? Let's have some fun!"

If Jen got any more excited, she might actually ascend to a new realm of existence. But as it was she threw herself into things with enthusiasm and some moderate amount of ability. Jen decided, right then and there, that this was her New Thing to work off the alcohol and the crappy diet. Mutant helped, sure, but exercise, that was the real ticket.

The fact that it was almost achingly sexy sure as hell didn't hurt.
