Profile
A relative newcomer to superheroing, Mary first got her powers from her foster brother Billy, but since discovered a way to get them on her own. She goes by Mary Marvel when heroing, but prefers to keep a low profile going to college right now.
Timeline
Timeline:
* 2001: Mary Bromfield is born in Philadelphia.
* 2007: Mary's parents die in a car accident. Mary is placed with the Vazquez foster home in Philadelphia.
* 2010: Mary vanishes on her birthday when coming home from a friend's house. The Wizard Shazam tested her, but was unsure if she would be worthy so released her, wiping her memory.
* 2018: Billy Batson is brought into the Vazquez foster home. Mary is the unofficial 'den mother' and, along with Freddy, helps Billy fit in.
* 2019: Dr. Sivana goes on his rampage with the Seven Deadly Sins. Billy shares his powers with his foster siblings, including Mary, and they are able to defeat Dr. Sivana and re-imprison the Sins.
* 2020: Mary graduates high school early, and goes off to college in New York. She also discovers she can summon the powers of Shazam without Billy's help, becoming (for lack of a better word) Mary Marvel!

Personality
Caring:
Mary is very concerned about other people, and has a strong sense of empathy for other beings, human or not. She is a worrier, and often checks in with her little brother Billy daily, just to make sure everything's okay with him.
Protective:
Mary is very protective of people, particularly children and other innocents who get caught in the middle of things. Even before she got her powers she was effectively the 'den mother' of her foster sibs, and still worries about them even though she's moved out of the house.

Powers
Courage of Achilles:
Mary, while transformed, has an incredible amount of willpower and inner strength. She has a strong sense of preserverance and determination while in her alter ego.
Power of Zeus:
As Mary Marvel, Mary is physically invulnerable to all but the strongest attacks, and also has a resistance to most magical spells and attacks as well. She can also use her transformative lightning as a weapon, calling it down upon her enemies if necessary. This lightning can also be used to channel magical energy for other ritual effects.
Speed of Mercury:
While transformed, Mary can fly at speeds of up to Mach 10 in Earth's atmosphere, and could fly at near-light speed in space. She can definitely move fast enough to seemingly 'vanish' from human perceptions, and while not as fast as the Flash, can move far quicker than a typical human could anticipate.
Stamina of Atlas:
Mary Marvel can withstand and survive most types of extreme physical assaults. If she is ever wounded, her divine energy would allow her to recover with superhuman speed. Additionally, her metabolism is such that she doesn't need to eat, sleep, or breathe while transformed.
Strength of Heracles:
Mary possesses incredible super strength when transformed, easily capable of lifting 100 tons. She's easily a match for most Kryptonians and other similar beings.
Transformation:
When she says 'Shazam!', Mary summons a thunderbolt that transforms into a late twenties 'perfected' version of herself. Unlike Billy, she can't share this power with others. The bolt of lightning will smash through all earthly barriers, so some care has to be used with it to avoid collateral damage.
Wisdom of Solomon:
When in her powered alter ego, Mary has instant access to a vast amount of scholarly knowledge, perfect photographic recall and mental acuity. She can decipher and understand complex equations and make astounding intuitive leaps. She also possesses knowledge of all languages, ancient and modern.
Skills
Writer:
Mary is currently going to college for a journalism degree, and has a talent for writing. She often uses her skills for local independent papers, trying to give them scoops when she can.
Resources
Foster Family:
Mary can count on her foster family, particularly Billy and Freddy, for support if she needs it. Though she tries to still be the Den Mother/Big Sister for them, sometimes she does need help.
Rock of Eternity:
Mary Marvel can fly to or be teleported to the Rock of Eternity. The caverns in this huge mountain seem to be endless and open on other realities. Its true functions and powers are unknown.
Scholarship:
Mary currently has a journalism scholarship to her university, so that pays for her bills as well as gives her a tiny amount of spending money when combined with her job as a barista.
Weaknesses
Alter Ego:
In her normal form, Mary Bromfield is a rather typical young woman with no super powers. As such, she'd be easy prey for... well, just about anyone, if she didn't get a chance to exclaim "Shazam!"
Self-Doubt:
Unlike Billy, Mary suffers from a bit of self-doubt, because her alter-ego is not completely different. Rather, her alter ego is like a perfect version of /her/, which is disconcerting. She often wonders if she's good enough as Mary to cut it, when it just can be so much easier for 'Mary Marvel'.
