Cast of Characters: Rogue, Remy LeBeau

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had been sent on a food pickup order, and she'd asked around for someone to come with her to help carry it all back to the car, considering how many people are living at the mansion this time of year.

She'd found ol' Remy LeBeau, inside the garage, and he became her target. She'd asked him with a sweet smile, and a played-up smoky edge to her voice, as she inquired as to whether or not he was up for riding shotgun in her Dodge Charger or not.

Here they are, pulling out of the school driveway now, with Rogue fishtailing to the side, having applied a rather large amount of pedal to the metal. She grinned over at him, as they sped down the driveway, her headlights on to illuminate the darkness, since it was half past 7pm, and the sun went down 20 minutes ago.

The gate narrowly opens in time, before Rogue's muscle car barrelled through the open gate, and on to Greymalkin Lane!

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Was there any doubt that Remy would be willing to go along for the ride? There shouldn't be. Of course Remy is going to go with Rouge on a road trip, even if it is just to go pick up take out. As Rogue peels out of the garage and onto the road, the Cajun lets out a happy hoot and grins over towards the Southern Belle.

"You drive like you ain't got nothing to loose, chere! I've always liked that about you. No fear. But then again when you are pretty much invulnerable what is there to be afraid of, non?"

Remy looks back towards the road, his longish auburn hair swept back from the wind from the open window, and Remy's hand is outside moving around and playing with the air currents, "Where we going anyway? I never did ask..."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue laughed at Remy's reaction to her wild driving. "Mystique taught me how to drive, back in the early days of her taking me in. I'd consider it a nice memory from her, if it hadn't been so that I could drive getaway vehicles, while under age, and with no driver's license..."

She glanced over at him, as he swept his hand through the air, and she smirked softly again. At his question, she shrugged her shoulders at him. "I dunno, fast food, I guess? I got a list here in my pocket." She stated, glancing down at her lap, before she looked back up at the road, since Greymalkin was a windy road, like a silly straw, it was best to keep your eyes on it until you hit the highway.

"What are you feelin' like? Anything specific?" She asked him, as she gave him another glance, while the Charger roared down the lane, trees sweeping by on either sides.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
The Cajun makes a face as the words 'fast food' are uttered and shakes his head with mild disappointment, turning back to look over Rogues way with a sigh.

"I get it...it's fast, cheap, and easy to feed a bunch of folks in a little amount of time, but that ain't real food chere. Real food is made with love, and a nice roux...plus the holy trinity. Burgers and tacos just don't have it."

He looks forward again, his hand still riding the air currents as he purses his lips, "I could say that what I want ain't on the menu, but you're driving." There is a flash of his pearly whites, "So I guess I will have to settle for a taco, maybe a burrito. Something I can throw some hot sauce on to make me at least think it's some real food."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just had her chin up, as she held on to the steering wheel, a smile on her lips as she seemed to be in a happy mood tonight. At his words, she did look over at him, and she did laugh when he made his insinuation. Used to be, back in the early days, she'd get angry at him, and fly off, leaving him in the car by himself. Apparently she's matured though?

"That's the secret menu." She said back to him. "Ain't you heard'a those? All these places have'em. It boosts internet searches for their stuff, which makes them feel better about their lack of social media engagement."

They reached the end of Greymalkin, and Rogue slowed down, as they merged out on to the highway headed south to Salem Center, which was already visible up ahead, as it was not far away.

"Meaning, all ya gotta do is ask nice and quiet, nice and friendly." She said, shooting him another grin.

"Logan wants burgers. Jubes said she wanted a delivery boy, or somethin' I can't fulfill. You want a taco and burrito? That checks out..." She said the last part with another smirk, as she applied some more gas, the car revving onward past Harry's and the Donut shop.

"I'll go with the burrito myself. So hopefully the Burrito Wagon is still open."

It's a little Mexican food truck in the parking lot of Happy Tree Grocery.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
It's just how they are these days, insinuation and innuendo. Maybe that has always been their love language, or it's always been his and Rogue is just learning to speak back to him. In either case the Cajun grins and glances over at the Belle when she starts talking about secret menus and how one gets to order off of it.

He shakes his head and chuckles, "Maybe I'll have to take some time and peruse that secret menu website. Take my time with it and really just look it over in great depth. They always put the better food on that menu."

"Burgers, tacos, burritos...and a delivery boy. Jubes can just order one of those herself, what does she need us to do that for her...just call that food delivery service. Speaking of, why didn't we just call that food delivery service....not that I mind the company."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue drove her car up on the tail end of an old pickup truck, the kind that looked like it serviced some of the fancy horse ranches around Westchester. She waited for the opposite side of the street to clear up, and pulled out around him, applying more gas, to drive right on past the man inside the truck.

With a light laugh, she glanced over to Remy on her right. "Are you implyin' that I could have had Uber Eats bring us somethin'?" She asked him, as her eyes went back to the road. "You're right... I could have. I wanted outta the house. I wanted to feel the road beneath me for a little bit, Mistah LeBeau. Is there any harm in that?" She asked, glancing at him again.

Her driving skills were quite good, another element of her that might be surprising to learn about, but she'd been trained by a hell of a driver too, apparently.

They made the turn in to Salem Center, and were on their way toward the grocery store, just past the shopping mall, that was still busy even at this hour of night.

"We could stop in at the Mall, and eat at the Food Court, if you'd like?" She said, as she grinned at him for a second again.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"I'm not implying anything, it's just the truth. We could have, but as I said...I don't mind, I like the company. Nothing wrong with wanting to get out of the house, trust me...I know about feeling cooped up and wanting to get out."

Remy stops just short of putting his head out of the widow like a dog, letting the wind hit his face and blow his hair back. "Mystique taught you pretty good, chere. If I ever see her I'll have to give her props. You know, if she isn't trying to do me harm at the time anyway."

He looks over at the mall and shrugs, "At least the food court sometimes has different food than the run of the mill normal places. Sometimes they even have something they claim is Cajun...which just is sad to be honest. But it at least tries I guess. I'm happy with the food truck though if you want that. I'm easy, chere. I'm just along for the ride."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue couldn't help but catch his dig at himself, about running out. It caused her to glance his way again, as they made the turn toward Happy Tree's parking lot. "I think you've been nothin' but a sweetheart for quite awhile now." She said back at him, in a softer tone, shooting him another smile, before her eyes went ahead again.

The car slowed, her blinker came on, and she turned in to the lot. "I haven't seen Mystique in... I don't even know how long. Unless she's just hidin' an' watching in the body of another person, then I think she's finally stopped carin' at all about me." She admitted, in a voice that almost sounded disappointed? The mind was funny, how that worked.

She drove them across the lot, toward the far corner, where the Burrito Wagon could be seen, still open; Until 9 o'clock, the sign out front of it said in chalk.

"looks like we're good." She said, as she found a spot to park nearby.

"I'm buyin, since you agreed t'come along. So get whatever ya want, Sugah..." She told him, as she popped the door on the driver's side, and began to slip out.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"I'm tryin'." Remy says with a shrug of his shoulders as the slow to a stop and he opens the door to get out as well, "I know it's too late to make up for all the disappointments, but I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. Be a 'better man' I guess. I'll never be a good one, but I can at least try to be better."

He walks around the front of the car, hands shoved into the pockets of his coat, as he moves to catch up to Rogue and walk next to her even as he looks towards the menu for the food truck. He looks over towards her and raises a brow when she talks about Mystique, "I doubt that. I suppose it's possible, but I doubt it. She's probably just biding her time. I'm sure she will show up in your life again someday."

He looks over at the food truck menu again, "You buying me dinner, chere? Careful now, that might make this an official date. Rumors are gonna spread," he says with a grin that goes from ear to her, canting his head and turning those red eyes over her way before winking. "How about some carne asada fries? Split it?"

Rogue has posed:
When Remy joined her on the approach to the Wagon, which had a few people in line still, since the weather was still nice outside at this time of day, Rogue glanced over at him. "Don't beat yourself up." She softly told him, as she bumped shoulder in to his. She was wearing a dark blue denim jacket, jeans and a dark green t-shirt, with heeled leather boots, thus she was pretty well covered up, and safe.

She had to grin at him too, his playful banter about this being an official date, making her shake her head, and shrug her shoulders inside the denim jacket. "I sure don't have a problem with such a label, an' people gonna talk no matter what, you an' I both know that..."

They stood beside the chalk board street sign, and it had a number of tasty options on it, while more were listed up on the truck itself. "That sounds delicious. We'll eat our stuff, before we go buy everyone else's. I'll tell Jubilee they were all outta delivery boys..." She added that last part with a smirk, before it was their time to move up in line.

Rogue placed her hands on the edge of the ledge counter just outside the truck window, and she began to prattle off a few things to order, before she yielded to Remy to let him have a turn.

Her phone was soon to buzz, and with a sigh, she produced it from a pocket. "They gonna tack on like fifty more things too. Good thing I got Jean's school card..."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy shrugs a shoulder and grins, "I"m not. It's just the truth, chere. Don't worry yourself about me none, mon ange. I know my limitations, I ain't never going to be a saint...and you wouldn't like me being one anyway. Who I am is part of my charm." He looks back towards the truck and make the order for the shared plate of asada fries and a cheese quesadilla before looking back to Rogue, then the truck again, "And a Mexican coke, two straws."

Order placed the Cajun moves off to the side to let the next people order, folding his arms over his chest as he cocks his head to Rogue with a smirk, "Oh, I'm sure people already have been talking with us spending as much time together as we do, and the fact you ain't throwing shit at me anymore," he jokes with a grin, glancing at her phone as it starts to buzz and he laughs. "How many arms do they think we got?! I can only carry so much.."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shot a few quick messages back, before she put her phone away. "Just more burgers and nuggets, stuff we can get all at the same place. These places either love it, or hate it, when Xavier's School comes for their stockpiles." She stated, showing him a small smirk, as he stepped out of line. They were by the waiting window now, as their order was prepared. "Kitty wanted a burrito too, so I put in an order for her favorite kind..." She added, as one hand went up to brush her white hair back behind her right ear.

She smiled faintly at him, and swayed herself side to side as she waited patiently as possible.

"Chalk it up to whatever ya want though, I like spendin' time with ya." She told him, looking up at him, a warm expression touching her features. "Such is why I've gotten so mad in the past. But, that's the past. Here is now, here is good. Right?" She asked him, watching him closely.

She jumped a little, when their food started getting set down on the counter, Rogue having to hand over the cash for it, while the paper trays were lined up. "That was speedy." She said, causing the man inside the truck to laugh, and offer some fond words of his restaurant back in Spanish.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Should call ahead," suggests Remy as he moves forward to help with the food being set on the counter. "Give the place a head start on getting all the stuff prepared. That way we aren't waiting around for an hour while they make Logan's sixty-four burgers." Remy grins and hip checks Rogue as he moves to take the food over towards one of the temporary tables that have been set up by the truck.

"You know I like spending time with you too, chere, and yeah...here is good. You know how I feel about you, that's never been a secret. I'm happy to get what time I can." Remy pulls a fry out of the container that is covered in cheese and meat and offers it over to Rogue with a grin, "We might just have to make a habit of these little 'dates'. I mean, I know they ain't going anywhere, but it's still nice to just get away with you for a bit."

Rogue has posed:
"That... is a good idea." Rogue replied, with regard to the calling ahead suggestion. She brought up the phone number, since she had it saved from her Gopher days. "I don't think Burger Joint has an app. McDonald's obviously does, but nobody likes that place..."

With one of the baskets in her free hand, Rogue followed after him, the hip check making her release a mocking little fake weak whimper noise, to play up sympathy from her walking with food and phone. "I'm walkin' 'ere..." She says, mocking a New Yorker turn of phrase too.

She sat her basket down, and looked over at him, as he offered the free to her. She smiled, "I like the sound'a little nights out t'gether." She said back, before she leaned over to take the fry with her lips alone, since her hands were occupied already.

She was in the process of chewing, when a voice started asking her for her order over the line. With a full mouth, Rogue stammered a bit, as she started to prattle off more food, for the others, whilst finally moving to take a seat at the table that Remy had chosen for them.

She reached for a napkin from one of the boxes, to dab at her lips, and to help keep her from laughing at the absurdity of trying to order with her mouth full.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Snickering a bit as Rogue gets caught with with her mouth full, Remy leans over and starts prattling off an order for random numbers of burgers, fries, hot dogs and at least one chocolate shake. "Basically...just start cooking now and by the time we get there you might be ready...and no, this isn't a joke. As soon as my partner here can speak, she'll give you the credit card number. It's a legit order, promise..."

He grins over at Rogue and shrugs as he pulls another fry out, this time to pop into his own mouth to chew with a chuckle.

Rogue has posed:
A cool autumnal wind swept over the pair, causing Rogue's two toned hair to flow out to the side, as she was covering her mouth, trying not to laugh at the sound of the employee reacting to Remy's order. 'Uh....' could be heard on the phone, while the Cajun was assuring him that everything was perfectly on the level. Truth is, at the Burger Joint, this was not the weirdest thing to have ever happened. Jubilee used to work there, afterall.

Finally, Rogue took over, and began to apologize. Once she had the order put in, and the numbers prattled off to pay for it, she hung it up, and sat up straight, rebuilding her innate example of perfect ettiquette, by sitting straight on the edge of her chair, and removing her gloves.

"Now then, we dine, and then... go deal with that disaster." She said, shooting a smile toward him, and opening her mouth to wait for another fry for him to deliver within it! "Auuuu!" She waited impatiently!

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy just grins as Rogue has to take over his attempt to try and get the order started and shrugs lightly as he pops another fry into his mouth. The Cajun's red eyes twinkle with mischief as he stares over towards the Southern Belle across from him as he pulls another fry from the container, the cheese stretching before it breaks and slingshots back up to the fry in his hand. He twirls the cheese around the fry and then laughs as Rogue begs to be fed, moving the fry over towards her lips in a slow tease before letting her have it, being careful not to touch her lips on accident. "We dine like this, we going to be at it all night and nobody be fed but us. I'm good with that."
