Another Piece of the Puzzle

Synopsis:	Pixie and Shazam team up to take on a demon.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Things had been pretty quiet on the missing armour pieces front. And Megan was getting pretty worried after realizing that the mysterious Ninja clan (hand? foot? elbow?) had acquired almost all the pieces. Which meant finding the last two pieces all the more important. This early morning found Megan in another shady market square, trying to haggle off an old metal armoured boot from a seedy store clerk.

"Hey come on, that rusty thing isn't worth more than $50, not $500!" somewhere nearby, a pair or three of creepy eyes watch her, but keep themselves concealed, for now.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson is there, wearing his MC jacket to look disreputable. This is difficult for a 19 year old who shaves once a week and gets proofed going into movies. Well he didn't shave this week or last. He tilts his shades up to regard the proprietor.

"we aren't kids, we aren't chumps. This is not worth $500. You set the initial price too high. You're supposed to pick a price to make us think, is it worth that? This price is going to cost you a sale. It's a single mismatched boot. For $500 we can get one made. Come down a little."

Pixie's bargaining is obviously hampered by her seeming to burst into a tee hee after every sentence. Perhaps he should have come as Shazam in civies. That is still an option. Put the fear of several gods into the huckster.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn is dressed like badass Cinnamon today - pink hair held back by a black headband, black denim shorts over black fishnet tights, a white band shirt, black studded leather vest. And combat shoes with a hint of pink in the laces. Of course there are the wings although it looks like she's used a glamour spell to hide those for now.

She doesn't notice eyes watching them, but she can sense dark magic nearby and she stiffens, hands clenched. "Look, if you don't sell it to us, there are other, meaner people who will take that artefact by force and they're not gonna care if they hurt you when they do it..Trust me.."

From a nearby alley, a low guttural growl is suddenly heard from what sounds like a very BIG animal....Wait, what was that?!

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson doesn't have Shazam's ability to feel magic. But Billy has some inkling, as many alert humans do. On the other hand, he can see the girl stiffening under a threat. His arm goes around Pixie's waist. She can always tell him go get the boss. He looks over at his Low Rider parked nearby. "Maybe we just oughta go..."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
A pair of glowing red eyes are now clearly visible in the dark alley, watching the merchant whose own eyes widen with fear. "Take it, take it!" he says, showing the boot towards a satisfied Megan who hands over the cash before slipping the boot in a cloth bag. "Nah, we got it..Now we just gotta make some space between us and the crowd, no need to draw innocents into our battle.." Even without magic abilities, Billy can probably hear the big creature growling, following the two of them with big scary predatory glowy eyes. But if they attack now others can be harmed in the crossfire..

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson whispers. "I knew we should have brought Belinda. I need to find a place to change... can you just fly away or portal out? They'd likely forget me." He takes the lead, being larger and broader he can push through the crowd better. He hangs onto Megan's (Cinammon's!) hand. Get to the bike... a bike is almost a super power.

Megan Gwynn frowns, shaking her head, "If we just port out, it'll just go berserk and attack random people. We need to leave a trail for it to follow." she smiles, taking his hand and nods, no longer concealing those wings, all the better to stick out for the monster after them. "Let's give 'em a show then!" and she waits for him to lead the way to the bike.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson has kept that arm around her waist. When hears 'give them a show' he picks her up off her heels (she's not that short and he has one arm her. He appreciates the squeak she gives, He also takes a to check out those eyes. Okay maybe he takes a little longer to check the eyes out. Mmmmmm.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles, wrapping her arms around his neck, giving him a long full kiss on the lips. Well, that along with those flashy wings sure caught someone's attention. The large beast steps out of the darkness and looks like a large sabretooth tiger like creature, with very huge fangs and a glowing flame tail..And it's headed straight for them..They'd better get to that bike pronto!

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson pushed Megan out of the way. "Go! Go!" He suddenly has an extendable baton in his hand. Actually it is a selfie stick he manages to raise it before he gets knocked down and rolls under a table. There is a familiar boom of lightning and merchandise gets scattered. A familiar form comes out to lunge after the beast

Megan Gwynn has posed:
The monster snarls and suddenly it's whole body is on fire. People start screaming and scattering but it's not hear to launch random attacks. It only wants that boot and it charges for Megan who sprints through the park, trying to lead it to a less crowded area. Just before it can leap and pin her to the ground, Billy shoves her out of the way and transforms, leaping towards the beast. It snarls, swiping a massive flaming claw it him, trying to swat him out of the way.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam catches the beast's claw. Demon! He forces it down with a little effort and slaps a headlock on the creature. "You like picking on cute li'l fairies? Try me!" He tries to manuever between the elemental and the crowd, especially the Schwarma truck they were going to eat at. Finally he throws a hammer fist move on the thing's head.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
The tiger proves to be incredibly strong and fast, even for someone as strong as Shazam. It starts to buck and kick, and opens its mouth to exhale a massive cone of fire and smoke. "Watch out!" Megan calls, climbing into the sky, slipping the bout into her back back to keep it out of the way. "We gotta calm it down.." but she doesn't want to accidently hit him with faerie dust too, or anyone else so waits waits to take a shot, while dipping out of the way of another fire breath.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam hangs onto the beast. "Oh, I'll gentle him right the heck down!" He flies the creature into the air. Its balsts of fire blacken his uniform. The creature in let loose. Right over the Pond in Alley Pond Park. "There you go!" He watches to see what will happen, hands on his hips. "I hate bullies, especially of cute girls and disabled people!"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
The creature snarls and claws at Shazam, not easy to grab and hurl as it slips free, but not before he flies over the pond, sending it crashing into the pond., vanishing from view. "Well let's hope he cools down, he's got quite a hot temper." but now she'd better take the boot so,e where safe before they set more minions on them.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam drifts over the water. He senses... something. The creature borrows a trick from Tolkien's Balrog, switching from fire to water elements. Several slimy tentacles shoot up and grab the champion. They're strong. One whips around his chest, driving the air from him as it drags him down. When he tries to remove the tentacle, more grab his arms and legs, pulling him under.

Well, he can hold his breath for several hours at least, going to the Moon and back, but that was with full lungs. As the waters closed over him he gasped for a last breath. Then the water was still.

Megan Gwynn is about to relax when the creature shoots out tentacles, snagging at Shazam. "What?! hey..Let go of him!" she snarls, diving in after him, summoning her dagger, blindly hacking and slashing at the creature, trying to drive it into a pain frenzy.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam gets his bearings. He's not even sure if he can drown. Pixie's soul dagger is more effective than his fists against the rubbery flesh. Then he makes a supreme effort and flies, dragging the Cthulhu-mari with him, breaking the water and into the open air.

"Shazam!" His yell calls down a blast of lightning. It electrifies the creature. Water types are weak against electric moves. He learned that playing Pokemon! The lightning continues to strike. This thing is a blasphemy against the gods. The gods took care of those themselves. Mortals just had to clear the blast radius!

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, darting back from the dangerous tentacles, once he is free..And well, she doesn't want to get zapped too so she darta skywards, shaking herself of water..

After the lightning strikes the monster, she grits her teeth, summoning pink glowing hex orbs. "Etrea Malus!" and she releases the orbs on the monster, hoping to add some extra bad luck to its attempts. of course thus spell is pretty chaotic, hopefully it doesn't improve its luck by accident.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam feels the chaos magic latch onto his lightning. Lightning is itself often chaotic. In this case the bolts double then triple. The demon is blasted to dust. The lightning itself is like ambrosia to Shazam. His costume mends, the black, burnt patches becoming their normal crimson. The sucker marks on his face recede. He drops down but manages to remain standing. All signs of the struggle are gone, except for a weariness.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn flinches a bit, still a bit wet and a bit if electricity is drawn to her, causing her hair to stand on end. She shivers, a bit zapped, not enough to kill her but enough to stun, causing her to fall a bit shakily to the ground. "Oooh..."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam snaps out of his momentary exhaustion grabbing her before she hits the ground and holding her gently in a fitting princess carry. "You can't expect to fight a demon and come out of it okay," he explains. He wipes some of the water from her with his cape. "I'm sorry. even when I win it seems I do something stupid. Sometimes lightning is just... going to do what it wants to do. I mean I'm not Zeus or thor."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks a bit, drawing in a deep breath. "Oooh..My bad, shouldn't have hovered so close. I'm fine. You did great. We're a pretty awesome team!" she smiles, climbing slowly to her feet. "Don't be so hard on yourself.."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam nods, helping her up. "Yeah. I'm a little down. I ran into Juggernaut and... I really tried not to be violent and reach him. It didn't work and a valuable device got destroyed when I called his bluff. He got away. I think I just gotta keep hitting him. There's no weaning him from Cyttorak. But you were his friend so I thought maybe I could purge the demon from his mind at least. It didn't work. the device could have killed a bunch of soldiers except he threw it and myself clear of them. I tried to contain the blast, but it was Juggernaut giving them a break." He shrugs and sits on a bench.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn hmms, joining him in the bench. "Well..I think being a hero is hard with, sometimes you have to make split second decisions and compromise..Sometimes it's not cut and dry. I mean.." she shrugs, "I think often you need to make a tough decision and all you can do is your best, cuz no one is perfect and sometimes there is no ideal answer without some kind of consequence."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam slips an arm around Pixie. "Wise words... did you get shorter?" He peers at her. "No wait. I got taller. Sorry, I'm a little loopy from the lightning. That was my most powerful bolt. I don't mess with demons. I fought a couple now. It's mainly what Shazams are for. I think I'm supposed to fight vampires and werewolves too, but I only met nice ones so far. Do you want to go home and get cleaned up?"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn yawns tiredly, leaning against him. "Yeaaah, all in a days work, I think we're good for now.." she smirks, "Oh demons and magical creatures are my specialty. I think we can help one another, maybe even train together, help the other balance their weakness."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam says, "We can talk to the Wizard, I usually mess up training. I think I cracked some ribs with my last partner. If I lost control with you... smoosh. So yeah. I'll get the Wizard to advise. Or maybe we can use that Danger Room I heard whispers of."
