Date of Scene: 18 October 2024
Location: Sion - Lounge
Synopsis: Betsy and Emma kibitz and catch up on all sorts of gossip and news mutant-wise.
Cast of Characters: Betsy Braddock, Emma Frost

Betsy Braddock has posed:
It's a quiet Thursday night in Sion, and the lounge reflects a bit of tranquility where mutants, metahumans, and humans can mingle without fear of any reprecussions based on their appearance. As long as they cover their tab at the end of the night, and behave by the basic rules of conduct, anyway.

And right now, Elizabeth Braddock sits at a booth, sipping a glass of red wine and leaning back in her chair. Her purple hair is perfectly coiffed today, and the matching purple gown she wears is fashionable, elegant, and probably costs as much as the nightclub itself as she seems to be in a bit of a mood this evening.

And that mood seems to be boredom. Which is probably her most dangerous mood, truth be told. She's likely close to just slip out the back, change into her costume, and start parkouring to look for some villains to thrash.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost doesn't often come into Mutant Town - there's too much on her agenda too often and it's rather low on her list of priorities. But she's finally had a bit of tie on her schedule to drop in and move to check in on a.. Friend? Associate? Whatever the dynamic between the two exactly is.

Emma's called ahead now and arrives then, pickig up on the signs of the other woman's boredom. Her lips twitching upwards, "Why Elizabeth, dear, you do seem to be wanting to find something interesting to do. Have you not had any ninja attacks lately? Or played Parent Trap iwth your twin?"

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy grins a bit at that, gesturing to the chair opposite hers, "Oh Emma, am I /that/ transparent?" She chuckles, "I might be a little bored, honestly. After having some rather intense adventures in the Savage Land, it's been a bit of a doldrum the past few weeks, which... well, it can be a bit of a change of pace."

She sighs, shaking her head, "And if there's one thing that I crave with these changes to me, it's /action/. I just get antsy when nothing is happening, and I'm trying to not just make things happen, but damnit, it's difficult." With that, she takes another drink of her wine. And it doesn't look like that's her first glass of wine either.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would fold hr hands together, "Well dear, there's always chaos about you can stick your heel in. I'm sure that there's always things up on the streets. The Friends of Humanity are being their normal aggravating selves.. Some idiot from the future has taken over Madripoor.. The world is about to end due to an all powerful primordial cosmic being coming to consume it.. Then there's awlays simply the normal things in the Savage Land where mutated dinosaurs roam the land. Or are you saying all that is hum-drum and doesn't do it for you anymore?"

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy hrms, "I suppose that's a fair point. And a primordial cosmic being about to consume the world sounds like something that I might be able to do something about." She grins faintly, "If they have something that needs to be nicked by a ninja, anyway, that would definitely up my alley." Her eyes dance a bit as she looks over at Emma, "Though, the Friends of Humanity? They've been stirring things up again, around here?" One eyebrow arches a bit towards Emma, and she does suddenly sound a bit interested in what Emma has to say.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod, "Yes, and other things. THe Brotherhood seems to be quite aggressive with them as of late. You might have more luck talking to Lorna Dane over at the Genoshan Embassy if you want to more directly lend your assistance in the matter. I'm sure that sh ewould appreciate antoher weapon to throw at them. And there's always ninjas. You do seem to attract them in great numbers. Or are they losing their intrigue due to commonality?"

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy chuckles, "Well, there /is/ the Inverse Ninja Law. I think Tabitha explained that to me the other day. And I have talked to Lorna, I suspect she wants to sell me on joining the Brotherhood. Which, well, first off we need to talk about the name before I even considered it." Her nose crinkles a little bit. "I mean, this /is/ 2024. 'Brotherhood'?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smirk, "Well, if that's your direction darling, then by all means do so." Emma would ruminate for just a moment. "Though I fear sometimes that they're falling back on old habits and prone to get somewhat worse. I do know that your sills are an asset to them.. But I do worry."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy nods, "Which is why I haven't committed to anything, one way or another. To be honest, I suspected they were going back to their old habits. And that doesn't interest me one wit." She snorts, "World domination is not something I have any particular interest in, though I did want to give Lorna the benefit of the doubt about that. And if it was just her, I might actually agree to join. But it isn't /just/ her, and that's the larger problem." Because she knows who's over there, and there's a lot of them that the X-Men have tangled with over the years that she just can't bring herself to fully trust, regardless.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod, "I trust Lorna, but only so far. The same with Erik. And I fear that with the amount of time that Charles is spending with them.. But, I'm hardly one to cast stones now, given my own history. I've got no room to claim rightouesnss or objectivity in the matter. I can just only hope that things do not go too far and that events do not accelerate."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy gives Emma a wry look, "Well, let's change the subject to something more jovial, shall we... such as, what's the plan for the Samhain Ball at the Hellfire Club this year? Surely it's going to be particularly wicked this time around." She arches a brow at Emma, giving her a sly grin.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would muse, "Id on't know. I would say taht Shaw's likely going to be parading around the new White Queen, but that would be making Tessa stand out quite a bit more than she normally prefers to. She'll probably go for something subtler. I'm sure that the Club will have something on. I may or may not show up to it depending on whatever the latest crisis is."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy grins, "Well, should we have something going on here instead? I was thinking I might go to it, but honestly the Hellfire seems a bit too old money and passe for my tastes these days. A touch bland, and not cutting edge enough to really be interesting." She gives Emma a wry look, "No offense meant. I know that's not /your/ doing."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would laugh, "Darling, you're older money than I am. Your family owns an island going back however many centuries? You're landed nobility. That's without going into the connections to Otherworld. That bus has long since left the station." She would quip. "And I've not been directly involved in the affairs of the Club for years beyond occasionally antagonizing the Inner Circle."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy smiles, "Precisely! We know we're old money, and we're trying to re-invent ourselves, thank you very much. I just... did it a bit too literally." She looks a bit sheepish, then laughs a little. "But thank you Emma, I needed that." Her eyes dance, as she looks genuinely amused, and perhaps a bit less tense at the joking.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would smile, "Sorry dear, but you have a solid four to six hundred years on the rest of us so you'll get no sympathy from me. And I'd say something about lookingfor something interesting on the evening, but that always leads to tempting fate and we've had enough catastrophies on that holiday, alas."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy chuckles, "Hey now, I psychically locked your sister from ever using that fake British accent ever again, I think I've earned a little bit of gratitude for that." She grins at Emma, "But well, if you want to stick around and keep me out of trouble, I think I'd be alright with that." One eyebrow arches ever so slightly as she regards Emma with that.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would le tout a sigh, "Yes, but we're not here talking about my family dear. And yes, you did me a great favor with that. And why would I want to keep you out of trouble? YOu've already complained about the lack of it driving you to tears."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy hmms, "Maybe I just need something to properly focus my attention on tonight." She sighs and shakes her head, "Or maybe I just need to go meditate and properly focus. It's been a restless few weeks, for reasons you already elaborated." Taking a deep breath, she rises to her feet, "Thanks for stopping by Emma, I'll see you later, I'm sure." Flashing the blonde a smile, she moves towards the back room, signaling towards the bartender as she goes.

Likely indicating that Emma has no worries about a tab, if that would ever be a concern for her.
