The Yankees are in the Series. The Yankees are in the Series! It's been fourteen years and there's already plans for the post-series celebrations. Or alternatively the post-series murdering of the GM if they don't win. IT doesn't matter that they made it through the ALCS, all that matters is the Series. The way it has and the way it shall be.
Getting ready to host games is an experience. Various reporters are coming and going doing quick interviews to be used for fluff later on in news broadcasts. Security personnel are going about checking every inch of the place for planning.
Mary Jane is there with some of the security folks getting 'interviewed' and giving incredibly generic answers as she's wearing a pretty casual looking FBI uniform. "No, baseball does not have cheerleaders. Yes, we're aware that sporting events have a history of supervillains using them for mind control and mass hostage taking."

The Yankees are in the Series! April O'Neil, ace reporter for Channel 6 News and her own personal blog, has of course gotten her press credentials to Yankee Stadium so she can watch the games....and do interviews of people. Sort of 'man on the street' stuff with the upcoming election, and the World Series, and how the entire city is flooded with superpowered people these days. The sorts of things New Yorkers care about. But before all that can happen, one has to get B-Roll, and scout out locations and the like. These aren't just fluff pieces!
For her part, April looks every bit the impartial reporter you'd expect, except for the Yankees cap. And the Yankees jacket. And the lanyard that has 'I <3 the Yankees' written along it. Other than that, she looks just like every other reporter here doing their job. As she walks along, she can't help but overhear Mary Jane's comment, which drags her towards the woman like a moth to a flame, "Supervillains? Are we expecting supervillain interference on behalf of the Dodgers this year?" She's already pulling out a pen and notepad.

Mary Jane Watson would glance over at April for amoment, calling back her history in her head, "No Ma'am. Anyone that feuds with the Dodgers will do so out of a deeply seeded antagonism for them having left Brooklyn in the 1950's. And, professionalism aside, not even supervillains are capable of saving the Mets." She would quip. Peter might be a die hard Mets fan.. But MJ still favored the House that Ruth Built. Evne if it was a new stadium. As did most supervillains. Probably. I mean, the Yankees had the Imperial March as thier theme. What supervillain wouldn't take inspiration from that?
"So we're just covering our bases here in the event someone does something stupid. The referees are getting round the clock security details."
- April O'Neil has posed:
"Can I quote you on that?" April asks, scribbling down notes. It's entirely likely that this will never see print nor screen, but it's always good to have a backup story incase something you're working on falls through. "And you are...?" she asks, apparently not recognizing Mary Jane herself, but at least getting that she's a member of F.B.I. from the attire she wears. More notes scribbled down on her pad.
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Technically she's there pretending to be an FBI Agent for SHIELD but she does agree that the Mets are a lost cause and the only people who care about the Dodgers want to hex them for something three quarters of a century ago. "If you want Ma'am. It's also football season so I presume most supervillain attention will be there rather than something that is so static to most as baseball."
- April O'Neil has posed:
"Are you kidding? Bigger than the Yankees winning their 28th World Series title? There's nothing in the city bigger than that." And, by extension, there is nothing bigger in the world than what is going on in New York City, as everyone knows. April tsks, "Who's gonna care if...the Green Goblin goes and burns down MetLife Stadium? Not the Jets or Giants fans! They'll be relieved."
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would just let out a sigh, "We can hope. We're all rooting for them. And believe me, I'm sure that there will be plenty of recriminations to go around should it not work." All that mattered was the ring. Not how it was achieved. The murder would happen if they did not get the ring.
