It sounds like the Jamii Shelter is buzzing with life and activity, and Cinque is right in the center of it all, managing the holiday hustle. Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and the lead-up to Christmas have the shelter in full swing, with so many hands coming together to make sure everyone feels supported and celebrated. Cinque?s juggling everything from managing the volunteers to hang decorations for Veteran's Day, to getting his wokers to help count up the items that are still need for a successful food drives and even having some volunteers help some children to start on their Christmas lists.
Cinque is trying to catch up on all the work now, because he really has no idea how much he is going to be busy in the future as the world continues to prepare the coming of Galactus.
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson is currently there as part of Aunt May's FEAST Initiative and taking in donations over to the Shelter and helping to organize them and sort as necessary. She's working over at unloading various crates and then taking the contents to put them in piles for others to help inventory and put them where they need to go.
"Everything all right?" She would ask while passing Cinque.

One of the volunteers, a young goth named Seth comes in from the inside. "All the vans except our night ones are gassed up and ready for tomorrow. Cinque turns his head to Seth, Make sure you log in the keys before taking off. There is also some leftovers from dinner that haven't been put away if you want to take a plate or plates home. Thank you for all your help today." Seth gives a quiet nod, jotting down a mental note to log the keys and acknowledging Cinque's offer of dinner leftovers with a soft, "Thanks, Cinque," before heading toward the kitchen. There?s a quiet camaraderie here; even with the shortage of volunteers, everyone?s putting in their all.
Cinque tilts his head slightly as hear MJ over his shoulder a respectful nod, "No, just a lot of work that needs to get done. " Cinque looks at the lack of volunteers and workers that are present, "Recent events have cause us to lose some of our regulars. People want to spend more time with their families." Cinque tries to smile, but is not able to keep it up, "I guess most problems cannot be resolved as simple as kissing a girl."
Cinque alluding some of the first words he heard MJ speak.
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would glance over at Seth and give a wave of her hand over to him and smiel. "Got it, want to do whatever I can to help. I know it's not a lot and it's never enough." She would speak a little sadly while going to take things over to apile. "But we can't let that stop us."
As Cinque would look overa t her she would quip, "Not like I haven't had enough offers to imply most people think that. How you holding up?"
- Cinque Evers has posed:
Cinque smiles wearily as he says, "I am caught between the belief that ?Hope? is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, singing its tune without words, never stopping, and the cold logic that this dream called Earth is likely to fester like a sore, then run.
He shrugs, his shoulders rising and falling in a gesture of resignation before he turns back to MJ. "Please, say thank you for the donations. It is organizations like the FEAST Initiative that are helping us provide for our families and the homeless during these times."
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smile, "Don't thank me, thank FEAST and the people who support it. I'm just the one that's driving the truck and unloading it. Just pass along your thanks to them, it will mean the world. Do it in person will be better than just me saying so to them. And hope gives us drive to do more than to survive and exist. Means that we're doing more than just huddling on a fire in a blizzard trying to keep it going before we freeze to death."
- Cinque Evers has posed:
"Well, I normally do it when we give our awards to high donors in the spring." Cinque points to one of the larger areas, "We have a banquet, the children and some of the adults craft items, write poety, etc to present to the donations. Cinque furrows his brow, "I try to get someone from the city council to come in, and talk them up too. It might be just an alderman, then I thank them for their efforts." Cinque chuckles softly, "Before the night I always see if I can get them to pledge to help us for another year."
Cinque clasps his hands together, "But, I digress. Would you look like some coffee or cocoa? Cinque points to the kitchen, We are also have some leftovers." Cinque crosses his arms in front of his chest as he ask, "How are you doing during these times? I have seem to have taking over the convseration."
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod at Cinque, "Fir enough. And nah, I'm good. I have enough energy as it is from carrying things, and I'll just grab something from the water fountain. But thanks for the offer. And best of luck getting someone local to show up. I'm sure it would look good for their campaigns if you need something to nudge them with." She was pragmatic after all.
"Honestly it doesn't seem that strange. We've had alien invasions, monsters from other dimensions, demons.. The world's just going to be eaten by a giant being the size of a planet. It's good to have variety?"
- Cinque Evers has posed:
"I guess that is a unique way at looking at things." Cinque taps his right foot slightly as he continues to ponder her wordssti, "I guess if you put it that way, there is reason to be hopeful." Cinque nods his head, "Past success against the various past encounters, probably does raise our probability of success, by several by two percentage points."
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smile, "Hey, whatever helps. Just be pragmatic. Act like the world's not gonig to end and that things will keep on going same as they always will. Admittedly that's probably rather cynical given what I just said.."
- Cinque Evers has posed:
Cinque's gaze drifts, his expression thoughtful. "I wish I could just believe everything will work out," he says quietly. "But there's always this flood of other possibilities in my mind, outcomes that might happen." A soft smile pulls at the corner of his mouth, and he adds, "But maybe that's where hope steps in singing the tune without words."
With a raised eyebrow, he looks back at MJ, a hint of warmth in his voice. "We're planning a big holiday feast if we're still here to host it. You're more than welcome to come, even if you?re just driving the trucks and helping us unpack."
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod at cinque, "Sometimes that's really all we can do. Not get bogged down in things. We just have to carry on and do our part. I know that sounds really trite.. But we can sit here and wait the inevitable end of things and surrender, and treat it like this is our last day of existence.. We can scream out at nothingness, fight and rage.. Or we can just carry on, keep going, and have faith that there will be a tomorrow, a day after, and a day after that." She would smile.
"If I'm available, I'll definitely try. Life keeps me busy and I don't even know if I'll be in state on a holiday."
- Cinque Evers has posed:
"Hhmm, I might have a stand in myself." Cinque realizes he has been keeping a lot of fires burning himself. "Well, if I miss seeing you for the holidays, then perhaps I will see you around, maybe for coffee?
- Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would give a wave, "Happy holidays and take care of yourself. Just remember we're New Yorkers, we've seen stranger. Just take up one world ending threat and add it to the queue."
