- Amy Winston has posed:
So. Amy may have glossed over the fact that she was a Princess, even if she's one in exile from another dimension. She's still got plenty of wealth, so when Mary suggested that Amy pick out the date for the evening, the young Princess did a search for dance clubs. And finally, she set her sights on one in Bludhaven. She had checked it out a little and finding it acceptable, she made a reservation.
Now, to get Mary. Which of course, started with a conversation 'Got a fancy dance dress?' The reason for that will be made clear as she teleported the pair to the outside of the club. And it was there that Amy debuted her evening gown, with a wave of glittery magic that dances and washes over her.
When complete, she's in the form-fitting dress that sparkles as it clings to the Princess. Pushing some hair over her ear, she smiles, despite the fact that she's biting her bottom lip and does a little pirouette. "What do you think?"
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary did /some/ fancy dance dresses, but not too many... which meant that when Amy popped that question, two things happened. First was Mary going, "Sure, of course I do!"
Second was cancelling the stream that afternoon in favor of doing some quick modifications to one of her cosplay gowns...
Still, in the end she had a very fashionable and nice looking golden gown with a nice slit up the side to show a favorable amount of leg but not /too/ much as she grins at Amy. She also took the time to do her hair up a bit, the natural curls styled up and looking quite presentable as she whistled at Amy, "You look fantastic, Amy. I need to learn that trick... well, without summoning lightning bolts anyway." She grins at that, placing her hand on Amy's elbow, giving her a wry expression. "This doesn't /look/ like a dance club, though."
- Amy Winston has posed:
"It's got a dance floor! And a bar. All that is needed for a club!" Amy apparently did not research this very much. Another thing to remember about the fact that she was only on Earth until she was 13, then went back to Nilaa, just to come back again. "You look amazing, Mary." she admits, stepping up to steal a quick kiss from the other girl. Then she grins coyly. "You can bring the thunder another time." she teases as she drops her hand to take Mary's and lead her in.
As they enter and are greeted with the opulence of the place, Amy frowns for the first time, "Okay. I see your point. Not the dance club I had in mind... but, as a Princess, I am used to establishments like this." Though she does offer an apologetic smile to the other girl. "How are you at ballroom dance?"
"And we can totally change locations if you want. I... well, I guess I didn't research this well enough."
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary chuckles a little, and gives Amy a wry expression, "I can ballroom dance well enough, but I think we just cut the average age of this place by about two-thirds, Amy." She winks back and kisses Amy on the corner of her mouth quickly, then looks quite dignified.
She then hmms, "I mean, I do have a guest pass to the Hellfire Club I've never used, but I don't know if that's quite our speed, honestly. This looks... um, interesting? If nothing else, I suspect they have a pretty good seafood selection?" Since, well, whaler's club, right? One hopes?
- Amy Winston has posed:
"We're going to get ogled all night by men old enough to be our grandfather's wondering why we don't have escorts." Amy realizes and makes a face. "I get enough of that back on Nilaa." she admits, straightening herself up into the proper Princess that she's supposed to be. "You know, I've never been to the Hellfire Club. I have heard things about it..." she glances aside to her date, and since the decision is made, she leads the way to the dining area.
"Reservations for two. Under Winston."
The maitre'd looks down the list and finds the name. "Ah. Yes. The 'Princess'." he says, a glance down his nose at the blonde. Amy frowns a little, but opening her pocketbag, she pulls out a small sapphire and sets it on the banister.
The maitre'd immediately changes. "Ah, Your Highness! Please, right this way."
Amy rolls her eyes and then winks to Mary. "Captalism at it's finest, right?" she asks playfully as she follows on her way to a table, slipping into her seat first, and waiting for Mary to join her.
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary chuckles and sits down across from Amy, shaking her head as she gets a wry expression, "You know, you should probably turn those into currency, Amy..." She laughs a bit, "I mean, it definitely makes a lot of things easier for sure."
She looks around the dining area with a curious expression and, well, there's definitely a few curious looks in their direction, but not too many. At least not enough to be that creepy, as Mary looks back at Amy, "Well, I'd just as soon not have to punch my way out of here. At least not in this dress. Would be a shame."
- Amy Winston has posed:
"Well. Here's the thing with that, Mary." Amy responds. She reaches across the table and takes the other girl's hand. And she covers it with her own. A few quiet words, and when she pulls her hand away, there's a small ruby in Mary's hand. "It's... a thing." she explains with a shrug of her shoulders. "And very common where I come from." she explains. "Though I'm the only one I know that can create any gem."
She looks around the dining room with interest. "Oh no, I will not let you fight. That dress is waaaaay too nice. Much easier for me to teleport us away." A wink at Mary. "We can save the fighting for when you visit Nilaa. I mean. If you're looking for something to punch."
"So, you said you came from a pretty big family? Are they nice? I never had any siblings, so I'm always curious about other people's families."
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary blinks at the ruby, then smiles, "Wow, I'm keeping this you know." With that, she impulsively leans over and kisses Amy, not caring who might be watching the pair when she does so. Then she sits back and shakes her head, making a face when Amy says no fighting, "Well, fine... I'll be good. Mostly." Her eyes twinkle just a bit.
"But yes, my foster family is pretty big. I'm the oldest one of six fosters. Our foster parents, the Vasquezes, are pretty great. We all moved from Philadelphia a few years ago to New York, but we've settled in here pretty well. Mostly, anyway." Aside from not adopting any New York sports teams, anyway. Philly Pride and all that.
- Amy Winston has posed:
Amy laughs, leaning into the kiss for several moments, before pulling away. "I wouldn't have given it to you if I didn't expect you to keep it!" she responds with more than a little amusement. "I just want you to save your strength in case things go really well tonight." she ventures bravely, her own eyes warm with mirth.
"My parents... my original parents, passed away when I was young. My Witch Mother... a mentor, if you will.. brought me to Earth when I was three. I was adopted, and she trained me from the shadows. When I was thirteen, after I went back to Nilaa, I was there for several years before I came back to Earth."
"Dark Opal discovered my foster parents and sent assassins after them. So... you know. Dating me may be a little dangerous. And if that's a turn off for you, I totally understand it. I'm currently living at the Themysciran Embassy as their guest."
She is just finishing speaking as the waitress arrives to see if the pair are ready to order yet. Amy orders the Surf and Turf, medium rare, with a House wine to go with it.
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary looks a bit wistful, "Well, I never knew my parents either... my birth parents, anyway. I bounced from a lot of foster homes until I wound up settling with the Vasquezes. They're really good folks, and I'd love for you to meet them." She glances up at the waitress and orders the Surf and Turf as well, medium rare, and a House wine. Because that sounded rather perfect, in truth.
Once she goes off to place the order, she smiles at Amy, "The Embassy, really? I was actually just staying at Themyscira for a week at Diana's invitation. Not too long ago, as... well, I was a little depressed after." She stops, then shrugs, not seeing a need to dwell on it further, though her expression is pretty clear what caused it.
- Amy Winston has posed:
Orders placed, the waitress heads on her way, as Amy swivels her attention back to Mary.
"I would like to meet them. If you're sure you're at that point where you're ready to introduce me to parents." she teases lightly. "Of course, I'm also taking you to see my home world. Which... I think you may fall in love with because it is much like those fantasy adventure games you like to play. Even the creatures."
"I usually go between Diana and Lorna - I am building diplomatic relations with Genosha. I've been considering offering the Queen a place to house Mutants and build their community. But they would have to give up a lot." she admits. "We really are a medevial fantasy world. None of the modern conviences that Earth has. Plus, you know... dragons and trolls and such."
Her hand reaches to cover Mary's. "It sucks that she didn't even give a reason. But you'll forgive me that is about the extent I'm going to be mad about because... you know." A wink. "I get a shot."
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins and squeezes Amy's hand in hers, "Yeah, I'm not complaining about that at all." She laughs softly, holding onto Amy's hand, "And I'd love to visit your home sometime, for sure... and I definitely want you to meet my parents. They'd love you, though they don't exactly know about what I can do, as far as summoning lightning and all that." At the mention of Lorna, Mary actually does blush just a little bit. Almost like she has a bit of a crush, perhaps... which, well, could you /blame/ her?
Then she adds, "Diana is just amazing, though. I always like talking with her and the other Amazons. They helped me out a lot when I was back on the island. Just getting me back and centered."
- Amy Winston has posed:
Amy has totally picked up on that blush. But she's not the type to kiss and tell, so Mary's secret will be safe for now. FOR NOW. "So, I need to be the blonde friend you met somewhere and are now dating? I can totally hide my Princess roots. After all, I spent a decade on a horse farm in upstate New York." she explains and then ohs. "I have a flying horse. Just F.Y.I. I can't fly on my own."
"Diana is pretty amazing." And it's probably clear that Amy has her own crush there. But can the girls be blamed, both Lorna and Diana are powerful and beautiful women. "She took me in when I returned to Earth after Dark Opal pushed me back. She's been letting me get back to speed and training with the others, since I'm about on their same level. No Kanga training, though!"
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "Well, Diana and I have a pretty good relationship... but then, her mother is running herd on the goddesses that give me my powers. So it's pretty interesting. Hippolyta occasionally gives me a few messages to pass along." She chuckles and totally picks up on the crush there, which, well...
Who doesn't, really?
Mary then smiles, "And maybe you're just an heiress or something? I dunno... we can think of something. Just have to make sure it's somewhat ethical sounding so you aren't some exploiter of people for gemstone mines with questionable labor practices." She winks.
- Amy Winston has posed:
"Would you even date a girl like that?" Amy asks with some amusement. "Here I was thinking I'd just be the sweet farm girl that got swept off her feet by the street saavy girl that is just totally corrupting her." she responds playfully as she turns Mary's hand in her own and traces the lines that she finds there, looking down at the fair skin, and up to Mary's eyes.
As much as crushes may be had on Diana and Lorna, Amy's eyes are only for Mary at the moment, a soft twinkle in them as her foot moves to brush lightly against the other girl's calf.
She was probably about to say something utterly flirty and maybe meant to cut the dinner short when the waitress returns with their meals and wine and clears her throat softly.
"Oh! Hi!" Amy snaps out of her gaze on the girl sitting across from her as the plates are laid out and the wine poured. And Amy? She takes a big drink of that wine. She might be a bit smitten.
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "Well, I dunno, I have to afford that penthouse /somehow/..." She's teasing, clearly, as she tilts her head, her eyes fixed on Amy's as she definitely has her mind on the woman sitting in front of her instead of anyone else.
And then that's when the waitress arrives, and Mary's attention gets caught by her, "Oh, thank you!" She grins a bit, looking somewhat sheepish, as she notices the foot against her calf, and gives Amy a look as if to say 'later'.
- Amy Winston has posed:
Later is definetly filed away as Amy tops off her glass. "Ahem. So... a toast?" she asks, the Princess considering her words. And when she speaks, well, there is a reason she's a Princess, "From laughter to the quiet moments, every second has been a story in itself. Here's to the memories we'll make, the feelings we develop, and the journeys that still await us. May we always embrace the wild, chase the unknown, and never forget the magic in these moments we create together. To us, to tonight, and to everything ahead."
And with that, she offers her glass to Mary to clink against.
- Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles, "I couldn't say it better myself, but this is just the first journey of many more to come." With that, her glass meets Amy's with a soft *clink*, and then she takes a sip of the wine. She sighs, looking quite happy with the food, the company, and just everything about the evening so far.
And her foot returns the slight nudge along Amy's calf, beneath the table, as she smiles a bit wider, holding the wine glass with an impish expression.
