Synopsis: Mary and Amy watch the game and have an in depth conversation about all sorts of things!
Cast of Characters: Mary Bromfield, Amy Winston

Mary Bromfield has posed:
It's that time of year that's crucially important to any resident of Philadelphia.

Namely, the National Football League Playoffs.

And right now, Mary Bromfield, while she's mostly a geek about role-playing games and streaming, is no exception to that rule. She's wearing a green Eagles "Hurts" jersey, a rather appropriate name for a quarterback of that team really, and has a beer in front of her as she yells at the TV, "Come on, TACKLE HIM WOULD YOU!"

This might be a side of Mary few people outside the Family really see.

Amy Winston has posed:
Mary had to explain a lot to Amy about what was going on. The girl knew what football was, she spent ten years on Earth after all. But she had never adopted a team or the like. But she wanted to support her girlfriend and spend time with her, so she arrives via portal outside the door.

She looks like she went to the pro shop before showing up. She's wearing a 'Fly, Eagles, Fly' shirt, Kelly green leggings and a bow of green and white in her hair.

She knocks on the door just as the interception happened - so she knows Mary is home.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "HOLD ON A SEC!" She gets up and moves to the door, and just as Hurts finds Dotson for the touchdown, Mary opens the door and lets out a spontaneous cheer of delight, "YES! SCORE BABY!" And then she looks and probably recognizes that it's Amy at the door before kissing her rather emphatically.

Then she pulls back and grins, "Hey, you made it! Come on in, I got some food prepped already and there's beers in the fridge." She blinks a bit as it registers just how Amy is dressed, and she grins, "Wow, you really went all in for this. I like it." She smiles and kisses Amy a bit more sedately this time, then shows her in, "Come on, I'll show you around more at halftime."

Amy Winston has posed:
As the door opens, Amy barely gets a glance at the TV before Mary is pulling her into a kiss that the Princess is eagerly sinking into. Returning it with vigor, when they break apart. "I hope to score." she teases, before Mary gives her anoter kiss which she returns and reaches down to pick up the small bag of groceries she brought with her.

"I got the stuff to make the cheesesteaks that you asked me to get. I promise it's beef and not some creature from my homeworld." she teases as she makes her way within, her eyes and senses all kicking in to take in Mary's apartment as she clutches the bag in front of her, her expression clearly excited. Yes, she dates a Queen, but Mary makes her feel more... at home.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "Perfect! I'll try not to make them too spicy... I mean, they normally aren't, but my foster mom taught me how to make them, and we are a household that believes in cranking up the heat." She chuckles, maybe a bit /too/ ominously, then takes the groceries and moves to the kitchen, "Make yourself at home hon!" The nice thing about the penthouse setup is that Mary can keep an eye on the big-screen television while prepping the food.

She then chuckles, "I normally don't go /too/ big into sports, but yeah, I love the Eagles. Can't help it. The Sixers are okay, but you can only be told to 'Trust the Process' so long before you realize that the owners are just full of it, yaknow?" She chuckles and dices up some jalapenos and other peppers for the cheesesteaks, getting things going there.

Amy Winston has posed:
After setting down the grocery, when Amy turns to head to the couch, after taking off her coat. When she does, Mary will see that Amy's shirt is shredded (on purpose) in the back, and the hint of a Kelly green bra peeks through of lace. Clearly to get Mary's attention, right? "You sure I can't help with anything?" she asks as she takes a seat on the couch, taking off her shoes - are those Eagles socks? - and folding her feet beneath her to sit.

"I've never been much of a sports type. I was more a cheerleader." she confesses. "At least I was until I had to return to Nilaa to overthrow Dark Opal the first time. Then I kinda... lost track." she laughs softly. "I almost magicked up a cheerleading outfit to wear here, but didn't know if you would have company and didn't want to be too..."

"THAT WAS A BULLSHIT PI CALL!"

Mary Bromfield has posed:
If Mary could get actual chibi-heart-eyes, she would have at Amy's pass interference shout. However, she keeps the swooning to a minimum, and laughs, "Yeah, I didn't do a lot of sports in school, just was a fan. Though I dominated the fantasy football league senior year." She snickers a bit, shaking her head.

"Though you'll definitely have to magick up the cheerleader outfit later... I tend to get a bit intense for the rest of the family, save Pops Vasquez. He and I hung out a lot on Sundays watching games. It's how we really got to bond... and how I finally felt like I was home." She smiles a bit wider, getting things cooking while still paying attention to the game, and Amy.

Amy Winston has posed:
"Of it's later, it definetly won't be a PG rated costume." Amy promises softly as she glances at the game. "I'm not bad luck, am I?" she asks. "I mean, I've seen Reddit threads about couples breaking up because their SO was all 'they brought bad luck to my team'." She might be teasing, just a little. "Fantasy football? Like Mutant League?"

"You've been intense since I met you, Mary. It's one of the things I like best about you." she admits, attention leaving the game as she pays attention to the hem of her shirt, tugging on it slightly. "I mean... we're both orphans that found families and you are so amazing and..." she bites on her lip.

"I've said I love you, right/?"

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary pffts, "Hon, I don't believe in that sort of thing for sports. I mean, sure, there's literal curses and whatnot, but you know, I have enough pull in the magic community that if you were somehow putting a mystical whammy on the Eagles I'd get it exorcised easy." She grins and lets things simmer, then comes over and sits down next to Amy on the couch, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"But yeah, I'm a thunderstorm, it's a reason why I chose Thunderbolt. Well, that and 'Lady Shazam' is like, the lamest thing /ever/. What, I'm supposed to call myself 'Mary Marvel' or something? Hello, using my actual first name in my superhero identity???" She snickers and shakes her head, then grows serious and looks at Amy, meeting her eyes.

"And you did. And I love you too, Amy." She smiles warmly, "And regardless of what happens tonight with the game, that's not changing. Promise."

Amy Winston has posed:
"Okay, phew." Amy lets out a sigh of relief. "I was all worried for a moment." As Mary settles in, hand on her shoulder, she leans into the other woman easily as two puzzle pieces connecting together.

Soft laughter peels from her at the comment about her Mary Marvel name. "Well, to be fair. Amethyst of Nilaa is my real name. Amy Winston is my made up name. So I'm a bit... backwards on the naming idea?" she admits with a laugh. "My adopted parents never knew my true identity or that I was magic.

"Good. I'm glad. So are we going to watch the game after this? Or will we be celebrating?" She's not going to suggest commiserating, that's a jinx!

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary hrms, "Well, I mean, it's Gotham City at Tampa, I'm not sure it's going to be /that/ interesting... but I bet we can come up with something." She gets a rather impish look at that, then laughs a little.

"Well, I was always just Mary, but then the Wizard showed up and next thing you know, I had to start thinking about powers and goddesses and things. Which was a bit more than I was expecting, honestly, I was just thinking of a school to go to for a journalism degree at the time." She grins, "Didn't think I'd turn streaming into a career, or that I'd be trying to save the world on a regular basis?"

Amy Winston has posed:
"I'd probably still dated you, even if you were Mary. Thunderbolt well, is a bonus. I mean, not that we tried //that// yet. But you understand. And you're magical. Which is like... a double great thing." she points out as Amy leans over and kisses Mary's cheek.

"Streaming as a career? A lot of people make a lot of money off of that! And you would have a unique beat. How many superheroes are secretly reporters, after all?" she asks. "I can't really have... an Earth job. I'm always going to be a Princess first. And eventually a Queen. Nilaa will always be my first home."

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary grins, "Well, what's the wifi like on Nilaa?" She winks at Amy, returning the kiss, then hmms, as the game seems to be settling into a defensive battle. Which, while not the most thrilling thing, allows for a bit of time to talk.

"But really, it's not like we can't commute back and forth, or I couldn't anyway. I love doing what I do, though, both as Mary /and/ as Thunderbolt. So there is definitely that. Plus the goddesses seem to like what I do, which is always reassuring."

Amy Winston has posed:
"Oh no, it's supremely easy for me to go to Nilaa. No Wifi though. That's one of the things that Lorna and I are negotiating. Any mutants that want to migrate to Nilaa need to know they aren't going to have a magical wifi network and will be back in the Age of Adventure." Amy explains, her arms sliding around Mary's side to hold onto her. "Oh, there's plenty of ways to see each other. And I don't have to worry about returning to Nilaa for a long term, at least until I consider having a heir to lead Nilaa into the future."

"You're amazing as both, Mary. I believe in you." She pauses for a moment, and during a delay when a commerical is on, she leans up to whisper in the other girl's ear.

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary blushes at the whisper, then laughs a little, shaking her head as she whispers something back, then kisses Amy on the cheek. "Well, in that case, I think I'll just have to make an arrangement with the Wizard for an easy commute if you have to be there. Though I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem for me." She mmms and rests her head on Amy's shoulder, looking perfectly content, even if the Eagles are sputtering a bit offensively.

There's more important things, after all. Even during the playoffs. We just won't vocalize it right at the moment.

Amy Winston has posed:
At the return whisper, Amy gets a Cheshire's grin and responds back, before she nods. "I would like to meet this wizard sometime. I wonder if he's one of the ones that founded Nilaa when magic was replaced by technology on Earth." she admits quietly. But as the clock winds down towards the two minute warning, Amy starts to hold onto Mary a little bit tighter.

Nestled together, it seems like the Eagles are going to... but we don't say that until after the final gun. "Can I spend the night?"

Mary Bromfield has posed:
Mary smiles and holds Amy close, and chuckles, "Well, I was hoping you'd say that, Amy. You absolutely can spend the night." Which, well, Mary considers that a win, regardless of how the game actually turns out.

Though the game, much like Mary's relationship, seems pretty secure.
