Synopsis: Erik assigns Mystique to look into the troubles between Fabian, Cain and Lorna.
Cast of Characters: Erik Lensherr, Raven Darkholme

Erik Lensherr has posed:
Erik is in his normal position, overseeing operations of the Asteroid and keeping track of several places and events on Earth as well. Nothing of great import seems to be happening at the moment, but he has sent for Mystique to join him in the command center. Once she arrives, he waves her over and pulls down metal from the ceiling with a casual gesture, granting them privacy to talk.

"Good day, Mystique. I wanted to update you on something and also have you look into an issue for me. I received a message from Mr. Cortez that I need to to do a little digging on."

He hits a key on the command chair and a message comes up on-screen.

"Apparently the child he was trying to recruit was killed by one of Xavier's students, of all things. I'll be talking to Fabian to try and get some more info on how that happened, considering that Xavier's students are usually on a quite different path."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The nothing of great import for the Brotherhood as a whole usually meant more time for Mystique to intelligence gather, look through data, and on some occasions, go be someone else to start trouble just because it always makes her laugh. Nothing horrible mind you, perhaps just a little shop lifting as Ellen Degeneres, or speeding in a Honda Civic as Elon Musk.

As she arrives to the command center, she offers Erik a large cup of freshly brewed tea... from England of course, and scone. Wonder who she was and what she was doing while there.

"You know you have only to ask and I'll look into anything you wish," she started, leaning against his chair.

As the message pops up on the screen however, the jovial 'friendly' Mystique disappears and a deep scowl crosses her face as she growls out. "One of his students killed a child?!" Then with a deep breath, she regains herself. Erik was one of the few people who got to see the real Mystique, no masks.

"Mutants killing mutants, and one of /Charles's/ little brats," she shakes her head. "What can I do to help?"

Erik Lensherr has posed:
"According to Fabian's note, it appears it was an accident, but I'd still like to follow up on it, and as always, you are the best at information gathering. We both know accidents do happen, especially with young mutants who don't always know how to control their powers."

He sighs, "These things are unfortunate, especially when the victim is another mutant. But if it was an accident, then we let it go."

He leans forward slightly and taps the message on the screen.

"The next part of his message, however, I need a lot more information about, and quickly. He says here that Juggernaut was kind in not murdering him last night. Then he says he is not prepared to defend himself against Mr. Marko or Lorna, and will be avoiding them. I need to know what the hell happened between those three as soon as possible. Apparently we also now have three prisoners that Mr. Marko is also upset with here on the Asteroid. I need to know who they are and where they fit into this whole thing."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Accident. That was usually an excuse that Mystique refused to accept, there was always something more behind it all. In this case however, Erik was right. Mutant children learning to control their powers made mistakes, and accidents happened, but that didn't mean there wasn't more to it. What sort of situation were they all in that one kid could accidently kill another?

"Under normal circumstances I would proclaim that there was no such thing as an accident," she offered with a thoughtful expression. "However when it comes to mutant children, some are power kegs with short fuses."

Looking over the next part of the message, one brow lifts high on her blue forehead. "He pissed off Juggernaut and managed to walk away? That is impressive, given Cain's temper." She reread the information for a fourth time. "And he's avoiding Lorna as well? Hmm..."

Turning away from the message to look at Erik, "To be fair, when it comes to Lorna and Cortez, you can bet that the problem there stems from Cortez worship of you. I'd bet good money that he went into some sort of preach about you, Genosha... king... that's all it would take really. That said however... I will endeavor to reach out to all of them and try to find out what is going on."

Erik Lensherr has posed:
Erik nods, finally taking a sip of the tea Mystique had brought him. "While I don't mind talking to Fabian myself, it's always a good idea to get a third party's insight into this sort of situation. We have enough troubles without infighting as well. And on an unrelated note, this is an excellent blend, thank you."

Another sip, then the teacup is set down on a smoother metal portion of the chair's arm.

"You may very well be correct about Lorna, though the way he speaks of defending himself against her make me think it might be something more than just the normal annoyance with the Acolyte's view of me. She doesn't tend to get violent over annoyances, so I think there's something more going on. Which, of course, is why I'm putting my star infiltrator and intelligence gatherer on the job."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique laughs, shaking her head slightly. "Star infiltrator and intel gatherer on the job... with Lorna. Really all I have to do is ask, but I promise I will make it /seem/ less straight forward so I can maintain my image."

"I realize for Lorna to actually become violent takes more than annoyance, but something tells me the root is there before becoming something more."

Finally taking a sip of her tea, she pulls in a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "You may consider me 'activated' to the case. It beats pretending to be Elon Musk in a Honda Civic in Washington DC, though the look on the one officers face was amusing..."

Erik Lensherr has posed:
"Very good then, I'll expect a report once you find anything out. Hopefully we can avoid any bloodshed between our members. I do rather prefer the Brotherhood grow rather than shrink. And perhaps I should also look into a meeting with Lorna, we have not spoken in some time, and I'd like to know how she's doing down on Genosha. The reports are all very official, buildings completed, number of mutants given housing and work, but it doesn't give me any info on how she's actually feeling."

He shakes his head, "I know I'm hardly the model father, but I really should make more of an effort than I do. It just seems like there's always something else going on to take up my time."

He gestures again and the thin metal walls retract into the ceiling.

"Keep me posted, and make sure the bar gets a supply of this tea."
