Synopsis: Wally and Kori have an interesting conversation. Wordplay barrier exists.
Cast of Characters: Wally West, Koriand'r

Wally West has posed:
So, the Gymnasium was actually really, REALLY fancy.

Wally often liked coming here to help burn off some of his infinite energy. In fact, out of all the rooms in Titans Tower, this is where he's most likely to be found. Dressed in some simple sweatpants and a red T-shirt with the Flash emblem on the chest. He was maskless since he was in the comfort of Titans Tower, where most everyone knows each other's secret IDs.

If anyone were to come looking for him -- or just here for their own exercise or R&R, they would find the Speedster running around the track and creating literal smoke with how fast he was going, apparently feeling the speed as he runs.

Not even the cameras can keep up with him.

Koriand'r has posed:
The elevator doors ding open and Starfire strides out in one long step, fists raised to shoulder level as if to defend herself. The smell of smoke had penetrated even the lift (a device she rather resents; Earth architecture is cloyingly built around people who can't fly), so it wasn't unusual to guess the building was under attack. Her battle-scowl fades when she notices it's just Wally. She considers the problem for a moment, lifts off the ground, and does the only thing she can: she flies over to the windows and begins opening them, hopefully before the smoke can set off alarms.

Wally West has posed:
As someone who experiences time and reacts to such things within a fraction of a fraction of a -fraction- that everybody else does, Wally eventually skids to a stop as he notices Starfire flying up to handle the alarms and such, giving her a wave.

"Star! Hey!" He flails even, like its gonna get her attention in a much easier fashion. Okay, -YES- Wally was feeling extremely guilty that he was uninentionally making Starfire do some extra work.

"Sorry about the smoke! I got a little carried away!" as all Speedsters do, but thankfully, he seems to still have a smile on his face, green eyes lifting as if to lock onto Starfire's own.

Koriand'r has posed:
Starfire looks quizzically at Wally, head cocked a little. "It is smoke only," she observes, hesitantly, as if unsure she's crossing a cultural boundary. "Was harm done that require apologies?"

Wally West has posed:
Wally tilts his head a little bit. "Uhhhh kind of, not really? I mean like...I didn't mean for you to fix the problem I was making so...I'm sorry about that?" he asks in a voice of uncertainty, but he lifts his hands and gestures for her to come back down.

"ANYWAY! What brings you here, Starfire? Here to workout?" he flexes because she's super strong. "Or just...exploring really?"

Koriand'r has posed:
Starfire half-listens to Wally's explanation and half-watches the vortex of smoke dissipate from a black cyclone to a thin, gray mist seeping out into the outdoor breeze. It's distractingly pretty, but she comes back to the conversation guiltily and lands, not exactly towering over the human but still having to look down toward him. "Oh, I smelled the smoke and heard prudence demand an investigation," she explains. Her brows come together in confusion as she replays the last few words and their implications in her mind. "Explore? Has the Tower been altered to cause exploration for me?"

Wally West has posed:
Wally is wondering exactly what he can say to help Starfire relax a little bit but also help get his point across.

Nope, he's got nothing.

But her explanation does help his thought process a little bat. "Aaaahhh gotcha. Yeah, I uh...was putting my speed to some good use and, well, I was quite literally burning rubber with how fast I was moving. Which is...bad, but also kind of rad." he smiles happily.

...but it still isn't good, especially if he almost set off the alarms. But! When she questions him, he shakes his head. "No, no...just...wondering what you were doing before you smelt the smoke and came over to be an upstanding citizen."

Koriand'r has posed:
Starfire, who's basically used to not being a hundred percent sure what anyone's talking about, accepts the confusion with aplomb and nods at Wally's question, which is clear enough even she can understand it. "I comprehend now. I was returning to my dormitological room, with an intention of making sleep, after a day in which I had caused myself to become the subject of photography," she supplies helpfully. "And what events led to you creating the smoke I smelt?" she asks politely, volleying the question back to Wally.

Wally West has posed:
Probably the alien and strange human world culture and speech pattern factor thats causing a very intriguing version of a language barrier to exist between them. But, Wally seems very happy that Starfire fully understood his question -- more like he just worded it right finally -- and when asked in return, he nods lightly and smiles in affirmation.

"Had a little bit of candy that somehow survived in the fridge, gave me so much energy I needed to burn off at least a little bit of it, you know?"

She might not know, because its mainly a speedster thing, but he seems happy all the same. "What was the reason for the photoshoot? Are you modeling?"

Koriand'r has posed:
Starfire nods cheerfully. "Yes. It is an agreeable enough ikigai. I enjoy the lights very much, and to be fawned over is pleasing to the heart." She lifts an inch or two off the ground as she talks about it. Her eyes and hair brighten a little. "Do you enjoy the profession you keep?"

Wally West has posed:
Wally shrugs. "I think thats just called Narcissism." he laughs. "But, I guess...if you have it, you have it. Kinda wish I was approached, but modelling isn't really my thing." Wally and Starefire are very different people. But, when she asks her question, he shrugs. "I do. Being a superhero while running a delivery service on the side is pretty sweet. Especially since I have the best delivery rates -by a mile- quite literally." he smiles.

Koriand'r has posed:
Starfire's face spasms with hurt at the condemnation, but she masks it (badly) behind an uncertain smile, trying to hold to the hope that the laughter meant it was in jest. "I am pleased you enjoy your calling, friend Wally," she says, drifting backward through the air, toward the open windows. "I do not wish to use the elevator any longer, I will go to my room this way. I hope you will find more happiness in running," she calls, already through the window and bunching as if to explode upward, presumably to her room.
