Date of Scene: 10 July 2020
Location: Main Kitchen
Synopsis: Small lunch meeting in the kitchen.
Cast of Characters: Bishop, Gabby Kinney

Bishop has posed:
The man known as Bishop rarely makes it to anything one could call a regular meal time. He keeps odd hours, which is par for the course around here. He's raided the fridge of it's cold cuts, cheese, condiments, sliced veggies any anything else that might make excellent sandwich fixings. Bread however? Bread is nowhere to be seen.

And my does Bishop look focused. He's dressed casual but his harness holding his XSE blasters sits on the table next to him, while his focus is on stacking his choosen meats, cheeses, and condiments that he is attempting to wrap on a very large leaf of lettuce, to varying results.

"Bloody Food Network Bollocks! Why does it look so easy when they do it!?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney was rather hungry herself and given the odd hour... Well. Lunch time was well and over. That didn't mean she couldn't raid the fridge to come up with something to nosh on though. Humming to herself she skips into the kitchen only to pause at the sight of the rather vexed Bishop glaring at the food. Curious, she steps over to peer over the edge of the counter at what he had arranged.

"Uh. I think you're missing the bread part of that sandwich, Bishop," she offers helpfully as the attempt to wrap it in lettuce is given a curious look. This was new to her. Why wrap meat in vegetables? Odd.

Bishop has posed:
"Well you see Gabby," Bishop explains, very matter of factly, "Nutrition science eliminated almost all carbs in the future, so what we used to have to use to make sandwiches with a light, edible foam that was free of all calories and would disolve completely upon reaching your stomach acids. As such I have found contemporary bread does not agree with me, so I am attempting a technique I saw on T.V. called the 'lettuce wrap.'" Is he making this up? He might be making this up.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney narrows her eyes considering this rather carefully. For all she knew it was true, but... "Didn't you come from like some post apocalyptic world like Hope where food was scarce?" Okay, that she could believe, but it's shrugged off as she stands straighter. "In that case though I think you need to use multiple leaves of lettuce so it overlaps and wraps... And maybe it's a certain type of lettuce, too. We get these lettuce wrap chicken saucey things from a Chinese place now and then. The leaves are way longer," she explains holding up her hands to demonstrate.

Bishop has posed:
Bishop rubs his chin and says, "I think you are on to something..." He rips off a couple more leaves of lettuce and continues to wrap, "Gabriel Kinney you are like some kind of scientific genius." He smiles to the young hero and says, "Are you hungry? I have enough to fix another? The best thing about wrapping it in lettuce you can throw more meat and cheese on it and it's ok!"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I keep telling them that but they want me to go to school anyway!" Gabby shrugs helplessly with a broad grin in response. The question of food though earns a quick nod of agreement. "Starving. I can always eat, but I didn't have a big breakfast." Her nose crinkles with distaste as she explains, "They were having oatmeal. I can't do oatmeal since we were in that lab. It's just..." She shudders a little with her tongue sticking out. "That was all they gave us. I can't stand it now."

Bishop has posed:
Bishop nods to Gabby and as he finally finishes wrapping his lunch just so, "Well then I think you should combine breakfast and lunch. I recommend a Fried Egg BLT sammich. I think there's some nice sourdough in the pantry we can grill up."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Oh that sounds good," Gabby has to agree as she slips away from the counter to the pantry to rummage around for the sourdough. "I mean I don't know what all is in it, but it still sounds good!" Triumphantly holding up the bread she pops back out grinning broadly as she moves to the stove for the grilling part. It's cranked right up all the way to max even though she may not want to do that.

Bishop has posed:
Bishop, for his part fetches some eggs, letucce, tommato, bacon and cheese from the fridge and meets Gabby, at the grill, "Hear lets throttle that back so you get a good sear on that bread. I'll show you how my Grandmother used to make this for me."
