Real heroes, real estate!
Date of Scene: 30 August 2020
Location: Worthington Tower
Synopsis: An apartment is looked over, feelings discussed, and heroics plotted.
Cast of Characters: Henry McCoy, Carrie Kelley

Henry McCoy has posed:
There had been some texting back and forth, Henry reaching out to see when Carrie was free to get a tour of the proposed apartment he was looking at. A time was scheduled, the man having gotten a key from Warren. He waited by the elevator, dressed casually in some cargo shorts and a t-shirt. Nothing fancy! He flipped the key over and over in his fingers, nervous and exited.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
It wasn't too hard to get some time away with the current events at the moment, thankfully. Carrie arrives not too long after Henry himself. She's not overly dressed up herself. Comfort was key here, especially since this was bound to be a potentially embarassing or awkward moment to begin with. A pair of leggings, sneakers, and a t-shirt dress tied in a knot to one side at the bottom to give it a bit more of a sillouhete. That, along with the pashmina she'd taken to wearing lately rounds it all out.

Grinning at Hank she steps over to give his cheek a kiss. "Hey you. So this is the place, huh?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
His face lights up as she kisses his cheek, his arm moving to the small of her back to embrace her. "This is it. Warren said he had an open apartment, loft... whichever." He chuckles. "I am not sure what to expect, it is Warren after all." He chuckles, motioning to the elevator. Into the lift they go, the floor not at the exact top - but pretty high up.

"How have you been? How are things with the new group at work?" He wonders, watching as the lights cycle through during their ride.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley is quite content to lean in against his side as they ride up the elevator. The question earns a small, tired smile in response. "There was a small security breach issue that had a lot of members upset, but it's being handled. Not all the members are used to the secret identity situation," she explains with a slight shake of her head. "From what I was told we had to unfortunately ask our resident telepath to sort of 'ease' the memories of those people. Not outright erase, just kind of make it something not worth remembering." A small crinkle of her nose comes. "None of us were proud of that. Least of all her. Otherwise the group is doing good. Just the usual growing pains."

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast ohs. "I'm not adding to that problem, am I?" He wonders, his arm keeping around her - enjoying the contact and the closeness. "I don't want your new team to be concerned over me." He comments, nodding to her. There's a bit of tension at the mention of the telepaths and easing of memories.

Soon enough, the elevator opens to their floor, the man looking down the hall to the apartment. "Thank you for coming with me, Carrie..." He chuckles, looking over to her a bit bashfully. "I am hoping ... I'll see you around here more." A laugh, as he unlocks and opens the door. The apartment behind the door is modern, sheik, and open-layout.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley gives him a little side-squeeze at that with a warm smile in response. Her head shakes simply. "No, this was a particular situation where many were revealed to a few civilians," she explains with a quiet chuckle. "You're fine."

When the elevator opens she steps away so they can move into the hall to the doorway. A grin creeps over her, slightly blushing, as she nods in response. "I'm curious to see it too. I mean it would be nice to have somewhere to just spend time together," she admits.

Henry McCoy has posed:
He looks a bit relieved as he steps in with her, eyes going around the place. "Warren didn't tell me it was this nice..." He murmurs. "I suppose his view on things is a little different, given his upbringing." A wry grin. He leads her towards the big windows, over-looking the city.

"You're always welcome here, Carrie. You can even store things here, if you needed. Change of clothes, supplies, work gear." He offers.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley looks around the expansive apartment herself with a slow whistle. "This is fancy. I mean, I've seen plenty of fancy," she admits, "But it's usually older. Classic old family money. THIS is new, and shiny and fancy." Chuckling some at her own description she walks beside him looking to the view as well. It was rather nice.

Out of habit she reaches out to touch the window to see if it opens or no. These were good things to know about somewhere you might stay. "Thank you, Henry." She offers quietly not knowing really what else to say. So she lowers her hand to take hold of his giving it a squeeze. "I feel like I've been neglecting you a bit lately."

Henry McCoy has posed:
They could be set to open, of course. No doubt Warren has one in his penthouse that opens! "Yes, modern. Wayne Manor is gorgeous and stately. It has weight and history. This is... shiny." He agrees, with a chuckle. "I like it, though. I think it will suit me. Warren is already planning wing night - and you are of course, welcome to come. He's happy we're getting along so well."

At the mention of neglect, he shakes his head. "We have lives that are often chaotic and hectic. Me, you - our friends and teammates. I am just ... very happy that you spend time with me when you can." He assures, his hand squeezing hers. "I think this might make it a bit more likely, yeah? Having a spot where we don't have to tiptoe."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
The thought of that, of not having to be careful every second of their time together, earns a quiet sigh from her. "Oh, yes. Getting to actually *relax*..." The thought had it's appeal and it has her grinning. Though, her eyebrow does cock a little bit.

"Wing night? He does see the irony in that, right? Or is that the point? Because I will eat him under the table if it comes to wings."

A bit more seriously she looks to him with a nod, still smiling. "I enjoy every moment we do spend together... I really do."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry chuckles. "I do not think the irony is lost on Warren." He winks. "He wants to try new hot sauces and wing dipping sauces for science, as he says." A wry grin. "And I think he's enjoying the thought of us coming over and hanging out with Alison and himself." The man chuckles, glancing to the window, and then back to her.

Again, a look of relief as she mentions enjoying the time with him. "I... think I've fallen for you, Carrie. I don't say this to spur you into saying words, or frighten you - but I want you to know."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
That does cause Carrie to pause with face a deepening shade of red. The grip on his hand remains though perhaps a bit tight at this point. At least until she can feel her jaw start to loosen from that horribly deep blush. While it was tempting to keep looking out the window she forces herself, blush and all, to turn toward him instead. Still keeping hold of his hand in her own she reaches up with her other arm to slip around his side leaning in against him. "I know." She pauses there, gives a half-snort of laughter at herself, and shakes her head. "Not to quote Star Wars..." Sighing she tries again. "I think I feel the same about you."

Henry McCoy has posed:
He let's out the breath he'd been holding in. "Quote Star Wars all you like, Carrie." He grins. "I am a certified geek, you know." His hand slips to rest on her hip, holding her to him. He does lean in, kissing her gently, right there in the window. A moment passes, the man pausing to grin at her. "So, truth - were you thinking of how you could leap out the window, all dashing like?" He waggles his brows.

"Daring acts and sappy Beasts." He snickers. "Quite the Sunday, right?" He murmurs. "I will sign the paperwork with Warren tomorrow, then. Get my things and move them in."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley returns the kiss with her eyes sliding shut to better indulge in the moment. Even the geeky references of Star Wars included. When he asks about the window though she can't help but laugh. "A bit yes. Kind of a habit to check out the new place for entrances and exits just in case," she admits with a broadening grin.

"If you need help with any of the payment, I'm more than able to chip in. I mean, if I'll be staying here too a good deal it makes sense."

Henry McCoy has posed:
A knuckle raps gently on the glass, the Beast grinning. "We can make arrangements. An exit for our heroic activities." The man purrs, looking to her. "I think I will be fine on payments. I've had room and board at the school for some time, while earning a good income from lectures and such." Henry nods to her.

"I'll make sure you have plenty of closet space, all right?" He winks. "And of course, I am more than open to decor designs."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
That earns a little bit of interest from her. Slipping her gaze to the room she grins thoughtfully. "Really? Because NASA has these lovely fake tourism posters for other planets..." A small suggestion as she looks back to him with a grin. "Or we could always go shopping together for things, too. But it's your place, I want you to be comfortable."

Henry McCoy has posed:
He oohs at the thought of that. "I love sci-fi. Are they retro style?" He wonders, looking over the blank canvas of the apartment. "A safe haven makes me comfortable. Having a place where I can be me, without worrying about the outside world and what they think of me, or mutantkind." A soft smile. "Shopping would be fun, I think. I don't think I've ever shopped for furniture or decorations." A chuckle. "I just kept the decor that Charles had at the school. It suited me at the time."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Super retro. It's like the old sci-fi movie posters. Three or four colors only, and drawn out," Carrie explains with a little bit of giddy excitement. They were rather nice and she'd liked them, but they did not belong in stately Wayne manor. A place like this, though? It could easily be pulled off.

"Yeah, I got to pick my bed sets for my room but otherwise... it's all kind of set up already at home."
