Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy has been home most of today. A day off? Whatever it was she didn't go out in the morning, and last night she was rather quiet and with too much on my mind. It was late when she arrived so there was no time to talk before Matt went out for his day job. But something was left for her. A phone, with a note to decrypt it..

She could do that, maybe it would also be good to take her mind out of what's been plaguing her, the news that Bobbi brought back with her from her captivity. She had been worried enough with them already, and then the 'little' bomb that Bobbi had delivered on her lap...

It was all a bit too much, but at least she could focus on the phone... So when Matt arrived he'd be finding a Daisy sitting by the large windows that give way to the neons across the street, her face lit up by the purple of it and she typing down on her laptop, cold mug of tea on the table next to her.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
When Matt comes home from the office, it's his turn to be distracted, indeed as he comes through the door he's got his cane under his arm, take out in one hand his phone pressed to his head with the other, "Foggy when you get this definitely give me a call buddy, that client this afternoon, made one hell of an offer gonna need your eyes on this. Later."

He hangs up, navigating around Boxer as he steps into the apartment, knowing already that Daisy was in her favourite perch in the window. "Hey," he greets gently, cane and take-out bag deposited on the way over. "Stay home today?" he asks before bending to kiss her cheek.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Hey, wicked devil.." From time to time Daisy uses some peculiar nicknames to refer to Matt, but her eyes have yet to tear themselves out of the screen. A certain distracted quality to her.. But Matt can sense her heartbeat all over the place, something clearly disturbing her.. The kiss on the cheek does make her snap back in though, turning to look up at Matt and reaching up with one hand to caress his cheek.

"Hey." She repeats, a smile coming up to her lips. "Got an offer you couldn't refuse out at work today?" She asks, sliding the laptop a bit away and getting up to her feet. Being home meant she was just wearing a t-shirt today along with some yoga pants. And no footwear of course!

"I did. I had some days to put in so took advantage and got today off." she says. "Been fiddling with that phone you left."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt gives Daisy a proper kiss when she stands and smiles at her afterwards, "Tremors," he greets since they're using nicknames, then he kisses her again just because he can.

"Yeah," he says about work reaching back to rub at his neck. "I'm not sure what to make of it, a guy, Wilson Fisk, wants to put Foggy and I in charge of his charity division, spending 91 million dollars to make Hell's Kitchen a better place," Matt's tone is plain as day, he's looking for the catch, just like a lawyer should, especially one that grew up rough like he and Daisy had. "So far it seems legit, but who just shows up and dumps money on a couple of guys like that?"

Daisy's distress isn't ignored, but he gets this stuff out of the way first before coming around to focus on her.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy's mouth goes ajar when she is called Tremors. Et tu, Matthew?! But she laughs, a bit more of her normal self visible. "Ok, I guess I deserved that one.." not that he escapes from a small tap on the chest with her fist.

She shakes her head at him, but is now standing close, moving around him to help him get out of his jacket. "Fisk? Never heard of it.." the number does makes her whistle. "91 million.." it's impressive. Her brows furrow. "Someone who wants something out of you both. But .., I suppose miracles can happen sometime.." her breath catches a moment when she says that.

"Have you met him? You normally can tell a lot about someone by just being around them."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
There's a smug grin from Matt as Daisy pounds his chest with her closed fist. "I did some reading, he's a billionaire, grew up here, did some time, came out and made a difference in his life and a lot of other people too." Matt breathes in and lets out that breath. "I did and he seemed legit, at least, he believed everything he said," he says.

Then it's back to the numbers, "And yeah, 91 million, it'd do a lot for Hell's Kitchen, and he says, the money is free to use as Foggy and I see fit as long as it helps the Kitchen. He said he's picking us because we're honest and he knows we'll just stick to our salaries and not let any of that money wind up in pockets that don't deserve it."

He shakes his head. "I suppose I can't really doubt miracles at this point, but still, just seems too good to be true," he says.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Some time..?" Daisy listens, rubbing at her cheek, "Well, everyone deserves a second chance. I should know.." Ms. I-tried-to-hack-into-SHIELD. "Maybe it's time you guys stopped being paid with pies, mmm?" well, it was a long-running joke. She knew they weren't paid that way anymore! Well, not always at least...

"But as long as it isn't dirty money, right?" She adds, walking to hang the jacket by the entrance and coming back in, now carrying a Boxer in her arm, the lil rascal mewing up at her. "And I am glad I am not the only one that sees you are the one savior of Hell's Kitchen." she reaches up to place a kiss on his cheek, placing Boxer up on the table and running one hand over his fur.

"Well, you and Foggy! You should bring him around again sometime."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Yeah, checked the records, he did his time, nothing shady there and was hoping you might be able to do some checking about the money," Matt says, he hated using Daisy as his in-house hacker, but this was too important to be squeamish about.

The kiss is taken with a smile, and Matt reaches out to pet Boxer as well. "Will do, if he calls me back he might even come over tonight if that's alright," he says, before switching gears.

"How are you doing though?" he asks, "I mean, I think I can count the number of sick days you've taken off on one hand, and most of those were 'sick days'," by which he meant days they played hookie to hang out in bed. "Everything okay?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
There is just the briefest of hesitations. How social would she be tonight? But then a nod. "Cool. I could fix up something for us to eat if he does." then she saying in a lower tone. "Or ordering something in. I wonder if Foggy's got a dish like JJ does at the Dragon.." a very brief grin and she makes her way over to check the laptop, eyes on the screen. Still running the decryption.

"I .., sort of." Is her answer to the question. "Bobbi and Jemms are safe again with us.." and that is certainly a relief. She had vaguely spoken about them being missing, not going too much into detail due to how delicate the mission was. "Bobbi is .., different now. Do you recall how I was when I first gained my powers? Not able to control them?" she sighs. "I think she will need help.."

A pause. "And .., she told she may have ran across my mom."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Brought us some Big Belly Burger," Matt says about dinner. "Though we might need more if Foggy's going to drop by," though he had his doubts about that idea now, sensing Daisy's hesitation. "I think so... been awhile since we've been," he says about Foggy's dish though.

As for the rest he blinks, "She's got powers? Was it another crystal or something else?" he asks before that last part hits like a ton of bricks. "What? Really? Where?" he asks about Daisy's mom.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Uh yea.. Daisy realizes how it must sound for someone listening about it for the first time. She could barely process it right now if one is to be honest about it. "See, that was sort of my reaction too.." she takes in a breath, biting on her lower lip. But nothing like going from the start. "Bobbi was taken by this scientist who was running experiences on people .., like me. Inhumans." she explains. "Dr. Whitehall. He is an old enemy, been around since the second world war. Hydra.. He wanted Bobbi to develop a serum for him to continue living but .., they tricked her, with Bobbi using the serum on herself." she gestures with her hands. "Look, I am skipping a lot of chapters here but .., I can go about it with more detail later."

"And maybe we should go sit." She takes Matt's arm to lead him to the couch so they can settle together. Honestly, it's more for her benefit than Matt's. She needs to sit down. "One of the Inhumans that was there, I am not sure yet, but I think she said she had a daughter called Daisy, that had been hunted by Hydra years back." she sighs. "It fits me, doesn't it?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt shakes his head at all the weirdness going on in Daisy's life but follows along the best he can before taking that seat. Boxer jumps up to join them as well, where his people go, so too go the scritches and he doesn't want to miss out. Matt scritches him behind the ear as he listens to Daisy. Those pieces did seem to fit. "Sounds like it could be you, what happened to her? The woman who might be your mother? Are you able to track her down?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I have her name. Jiaying. My father .., he'd know the name, but he never told me when he was .. before." And too late now. Or at least that's what Daisy thinks. Those memories have been taken away from him. "Bobbi also talked about a Afterlife. Some kind of Inhuman group?" But Daisy shakes her head. "I have found nothing about them at all." She sighs, one hand up on her hair, brushing it out of her face and the other joining Matt on making sure that Boxer is an happy, purring kitten. Spoiled kitten!

"I am trying to. But it's hard to have access to those high clearance reports." Which maybe she is admitting she is trying to do. Naughty hacker! "I still got to talk with Jemma too and .., Bobbi again. She is not well, something with her heart." she says. "So I didn't want to press the issue too much." her tone is hopeful though. "I am hoping this will be my miracle."

Or nightmare. It all depends on the perspective.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt lifts his hand from Boxer to reach over and hug Daisy to him. "I'm hoping this is your miracle too," he says before letting the rest of it all sink in. "Afterlife, that's an ominous name," he remarks, but leaves that train of though at that particular station. "But I really hope it is your mom, it would be amazing for you to find her again after so much time and it sounds like she's looking for you as well."

He lets go of the hug and settles back, "Is there anything I can do to help?" he asks her. "I don't have as far of a reach as your SHIELD friends but if there's anything I can do, consider it done."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy lets out a slow exhale, curling up to rest against Matt, legs up on the sofa and the kitty now clinging on to one of their hands. Good thing he doesn't like using claws yet! A finger brushes down under Boxer's chin and she smiles fondly, head coming to rest on Matt's shoulder. "We will see. I am hoping so and .., it's something at least." the Afterlife mention does make her nod quietly too. "It does. Bobbi mentioned she hadn't heard of them either. Could be some very secretive group. I don't know.." and that seems to be eating at her.

"I am not too patient as you know.." The question about helping makes Daisy ponder, "Do you know many mutants?" she asks. "Maybe one would had heard of it but ..., I doubt it. There seems to be a distinction between mutants and Inhumans. I never truly understood it too well."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"There's somebody I've been meaning to reach out to who's a mutant," Matt says. "I'll see if they know anything. Actually now that I think of it I know a couple of them," he says after a bit of thought. "I'll reach out and find out what I can."

As Daisy leans against him, Matt curls an arm around her shoulder and draws her in a little closer. "I am sure though if she and this Afterlife group is out there, we'll find them and your mother."
