Space Flight
Date of Scene: 22 October 2020
Location: Roof - Titan's Tower
Synopsis: Space Test Flight into Space Test Date
Cast of Characters: Kate Bishop, Karolina Dean

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate is in the T-Jet in the hanger with the roof open to the sky above. She is running through prelaunch checklists, going through everything three times to make sure it is all correct.

Over the comms <<Karrrro.. come on, T-JET, what is taking you so long?>> okay the other young woman is not really that late, in fact if she was here right no she would probably be late, but that doesn't stop Kate from sassing Karolina lightly.

She starts to run through the fourth time through preflight, a picnic basket is stowed in the cold storage in the back right now but that is a surprise for later.

Karolina Dean has posed:
"Hey! Sorry! I had to shower!" Karolina laughs, yelling to the jet as she jogs across the roof to get to the entry ramp. "It was kinda short notice! But we can finally take this up for a test flight?" she asks, enthusiastic. She hadn't been into space since the.. incident. And despite said incident, she really wanted to try this space thing again, just under much nicer and less hurried and dangerous circumstances.

"It's so cool that you know how to fly this thing!" she gushes a little as she boards, heading for the cockpit.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate nods "Well we will be taking it back up to where the worm collapsed this weekend. I've clocked a lot of hours since the last time I took it up in the Danger Room but it isn't like actually flying it. Nadia also says she is done with all the mods ... so I figured we need to take it up for a test. We need to make sure that everything is ship shape before we go that far from Earth."

She flips some controls and the entry ramp closes and seals tight. "At least that is the official excuse and what I am logging into the computer Karo." she grins over her hsoulder at you, then gestures for the copilot seat. "Buckle up."

Karolina Dean has posed:
Karolina nods, listening to the explanation. "Oh that all sounds very prudent. Make sure everything is running okay, and ensure that if anything goes wrong, you've got someone space-capable with you, and that you're close to earth if you need to send Supergirl a call or something to come get us, right?"

She seems to think this is a great idea, and as she takes a seat, she blinks at Kate. "Um... official excuse?" she asks, bewildered, adjusting her hair as she buckles in. No flightsuit or space suit for her! Just some skinny jeans, boots with a fleecy interior lining and a bright purple tank top with a sexy, sassy witch posing in a pumpkin patch, drawn in the stylized classic 'Bewitched' television caricature. Happy Halloween it proclaims.

Kate Bishop has posed:
I mean to be fair, Kate also has no flight suit. She is wearing her Hawkingbird hero uniform, armor and all that. It is a good look and well if they run into any actual trouble it is much more useful than a blouse from some Fifth Ave. Boutique.

"Official. I mean you wanted to go to space. I wanted to go to space with you. So it is a dual purpose trip. We actually do need to make sure everything is ready to go out to near Jupiter where we fought Warworld. That doesn't mean we can't enjoy the test flight."

She flips a few more controls then takes the controls fully in hand. "Hold onto your ass." she says chipperly and pivots the engines and pulls out of the hanger using the VTOL mode of the T-Jet. Her eyes are on the HUD, radar, various displays. She says into the comms <<T-Jet course logged air control.>> because best to not have people worrying she is some sort of rogue aircraft. Regulations and all.

That doesn't prevent her from tilting the controls and leaving VTOL Mode pretty fast soaring towards the sky above.

Karolina Dean has posed:
"Oh!" Karolina laughs, a warm, musical sound. "I suppose it wouldn't do to just say we're taking the jet because we wanted to go for a day trip in upper orbit..." she says softly, still smiling. "But you are right, there are good reasons to shake the ship down after the upgrades... especially if it means we can use it to find our friends, right?"

She's all smiles and hope and sunshine, which is really her default. Then she goes quiet, letting Kate concentrate on the instruments and the takeoff. She reflexively holds on to the armrests, not having actually been on a flight since, well, again, the last time she was in space.

"Holding..." she responds, watching through the canopy, feeling the ship orient itself, and then squealing when they haul it up towards the sky. "Aaaahhhhhwwwwwwheeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate may have pushed it a bit for two main reasons. One to make Karolina squeal like that as they accelerated for escape velocity. Second to make sure they could actually hit escape velicity and put the engine upgrades through their paces now to make sure everything is good to go with them.

Testing in the hanger and in atmosphere is one thing. Achieving escape velocity and orbit is another.

Honestly other than the noise from Karolina it is pretty quiet inside the T-Jet. Kate doesn't say much, focusing very closely on all the instruments and actually flying an actual craft into actual space. Somewhere in the back of her head she does think letting someone who not too long ago got a driver's license pilot an advanced aircraft into space that costs god only knows how much is really irresponsible. That said who is going to tell the Titan not to use the equipment at this point. I mean she flew it in space the last time.

One everything starts to darken and the artificial gravity has to kick in though she finally looks up, plotting a course with the navigation systems help past the space debris an satellite layer. "okay.... almost there..."

Karolina Dean has posed:
Thankfully, as much as Karolina doesn't really have lungs, or need air, her squealing stops when the dampeners kick in and she's no longer being pressed back into that seat. She, instead, is reduced to giggles, and then laughs a little more once things are settled.

"There's a lot of space junk up here, isn't there..." she peers through the canopy, still keeping her hands to herself. She doesn't want to actually nudge any buttons on accident, nor get in Kate's way. "...and not all of it was put here by us..." she sighs, as there's probably some wreckage from space battles here, too.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"You're adorable and now I know what going on a rollercoaster would be like with you Karo." teasing lightly as she finishes the flight path out of near earth orbit and where it is a lot more clear, and then a little bit for good measure. The tip of her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth a she concentrates.

"There is a lot of space junk up here yeah. It hasn't been helped with the invasions and blowing up alien ships either as you point out....." she frowns. "Supergirl or someone should probably come up here and disinigrate some space garbage..."

Karolina Dean has posed:
That comment makes Karolina's cheeks turn rosy with blush, and she leans back away from the window. But she's still grinning ear to ear. "Roller coaster! Ohmigosh, I love roller coasters... there's a Six Flags right outisde of Los Angeles, we used to have a season pass!" Her excitement turns down a few notches, and her smile fades some. "...back before... you know... all the ... stuff..."

She purses her lips, sighs a moment, then focuses on Kate. "...you look really cute when you're concentrating, too, you know..." she tries to lighten her mood by teasing Kate about her blep.

"Do you think it's worth disintegrating, though? or is there stuff that could be salvaged and repurposed? You know, like, metals and things..."

Kate Bishop has posed:
"Good to know, we will have to either go to the one in LA or maybe one of the east coast parks a bit closer. Metropolis has a pretty good amusement park." she notes chipperly. "Is your identity secret or public Karo?" which is a valid question since hers is secret. She honestly glazes right over the whole bad part of the going all the time and then. .... .. right into why don't they go sometime.

"I what.." she looks over and archs an eyebrow cutely. "The tongue thing.. I did the tongue thing" she sighs. "I've managed to not do it shooting my bow these days but piloting.. that is still new enough I guess."

She looks out the window of the T-Jet at the debris they have left behind. "Good point.. maybe just gather it up in a big net and bring it down. Lots of rare earth metals I think."

Karolina Dean has posed:
"Yeah you did the tongue thing," Karolina says with a laugh, her smile hard to keep from her face, really. It's back, and it's firmly placed. "It's really cute!" she says, sincere and bright. As far as the question of her identity? She shrugs. "Um... it's... really hard to say. Like. It was? But. It's hard to hide when you're a... flying rainbow alien, you know?"

Her fingers idly play with her bracelet, spinning it around on her wrist a little bit. "But I don't exactly go out every day and look for trouble to stop, either... I guess I don't mind if people know who I am. But you? You've got a lot more to... worry about... I guess?" she suggests, unsure, and shrugs.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"Well I mean, you pretty much have a magical girl transformation right out of an anime as Green Lantern would say. So I imagine unless you are introducing yourself to the press... they have no idea Karolina Dean is really Lucy in the Sky. So not going public is .. well maybe for the best unless you have a need to go public like Gar?" she tilts her head. "Just trying to figure out if Kate or Hawkeye goes on rollercoasters with you... life is hard."

She is blushing very lightly though.

She checks the HUD again and radar. "Okay we are in a stationary spot, no incomming debris or problems." she unbuckles and bounces up to her feet. "So. Surprise or space walk first for you?"

Karolina Dean has posed:
Karolina facepalms when 'Lucy' is used. "I mean... it sort of is a kind of magical girl thing, yeah... but I really need a better secret identity name than that..." she laughs. "It was... kind of a childhood thing... like... I love the Beatles. So much. John Lennon's birthday was like two weeks ago... so you can bet I was down at his memorial for most of the day, handing out food..." she gives a gentle smile.

"But Lucy in the Sky isn't exactly the best codename... I mean I'm surrounded by... what... Starfire... Nightwing... Beast Boy... Supergirl..." she rattles off a few names, tapping her fingers one by one until she points at Kate. "Hawkeye. And. I.. guess.. that'll be something we have to figure out..." she considers, slumping back in her seat before blinking at the announcement and unbuckling herself. "Wait, surprise?" she asks.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate laughs "Well it is cute... but yeah it is a bit long... though very psychodelic 60s hipster of you." she grins, she can't help teasing some there. "Though ... that was really kind and sweet of you. You're a good person Karo." she starts to head into the back now.

"We can definitely brainstorm new superhero call signs for you though. Glitter. Sparkles. SparklePrincess. Rainbow. Hmm....." she pauses thoughtfully. "Rave?" all but the last had a bit of a teasing tone there. She also doesn't answer the surprise bit yet. "Pick. Surprise or Space walk for you first."

Karolina Dean has posed:
"I mean we can go with Lucy but that still feels really.... weird and mundane..." Karolina gives a little shrug. "And... I try to be a good person! I wouldn't be doing the hero thing if not for, well... wanting to help?" She rubs at her upper arm, giving a lopsided smile to Kate. "I'm still learning how to do the team stuff again..." she sighs.

The options for names make her laugh, though, and she sticks her tongue out at the final one. "I've already met Rave. She does underground music. The stompy, feel-your-spleen-imploding kind of music. The lightshow is nice, though! And by that I mean both her neon hair -and- her actual show..." she grins.

"Ssssoooo no, no Rave.." she sways on her feet then glances at the hatch. "Um... I wanna do space. It's. Really neat. That I can do this. And. It just means I'll have to anticipate the surprise even more!"

Kate Bishop has posed:
"Figures there is a person who took the tagname Rave..." she frowns and then suggests "Glowstick? Glowbug. Glitterbug? Butterfly... nah..." even that one is too far. "Glimmer?" pause "Wait wasn't she a character in She-ra reboot?"

Kate grins though. "Shooting Star... Comet?" she is walking back to the airlock. "Okay.. airlock. In you go then I'll walk you though opening the door from this side and the outside before you go out. I mean I can let you back in and out... or you can ask the T-Jet too... but it would be good for you to know the controls without asking for help."

Karolina Dean has posed:
Karolina keeps her tongue stuck out as the names are rattled off. "Oh gosh. Those all sound adorable but also terrible. Maybe I'm not destined for a cool superhero name?" She smiles, nodding. "Yeah, Glimmer was the princess. Who had the glitter-bolts. She's cute though!" she laughs. "Comet? Firestar? We have Starfire... Starshine? Augh these are terrible!" she laughs some more, obviously not too put out about it. "Maybe all the cool names are taken already?"

She shrugs helplessly, and heads into the airlock, nodding. "Um, right, okay. Yeah, the controls would be useful, in case something happens, or I need to get in and out in a hurry..." she looks at the panels and buttons and gets ready.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"Sunshine or Starshine actually don't suck Karo..." she sounds thoughtful. "Lightspeed? Borealis?" she has stopped teasing and seems to have moved onto actually trying to come up with some real suggestions now.

She taps to shut you in the airlock. "Okay so it is really straight forward. The panel by the outerdoor, you hit the green button that is lit up now that the inner door is shut. Same to get back in as long as the inner door is shut. Won't work for anyone but registered Titans and all for security purposes but it isn't complicated honestly for a reason."

Karolina Dean has posed:
"Yeah but Starshine and Starfire are really close together..." she says softly, blushing a little. She's -really- close to Starfire as it is. "Borealis?" she asks, pondering. "I mean I can't go light speed, so that doesn't work... um.. is Aurora taken?" she asks. "Solaria?" she asks, stretching her brain, then sighs.

Then the airlock closes, and she looks over at the buttons. "Oh... that's... a lot easier than I expected, actually..." she smiles, walking over to the button. She takes off her bracelet, sliding it into her pocket. The moment the metal leaves skin contact, her body flares, the bright, near-blinding aura of rainbow light surrounding her. "Here I go then," she pushes the button.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate considers that "We will need to check later on which if either of those is taken... I haven't heard of an Aurora or a Borealis..." she then chuckles "Solaria.. no.. but I mean I like Aurora." she notes.

Kate watches through the window to the airlock, then pulls out her tablet so she can watch on the external cameras and switches comms to her earpiece. <<We should be clear of any hazards if you want to practice flying about. Should be safe out here for it.>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
When the airlock depressurizes and Karolian floats out into open space under her own power, she's... even more radiant than usual. It's like she's breathing and alive for the first time, even if she's not needing air at all. She basks in the unfiltered solar radiation, the sun shining bright on her without anything to get in the way.

<<Oh Goddess if I could only feel this good ALL the time...!>> she transmits, excited, exuberant, jubilant even. Her arms and legs stretch, she twirls around some, and then flies a quick circle around the T-Jet, leaving a trail of rainbow ribbon that slowly fades in her wake. Then she's off like a shot, blasting off towards the stars, away from the jet.

<<So there's a beacon thingy in this, right? So I don't get lost if I stray too far from the ship?>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate watches Karolina float out into space after cycling the airlock. Her face pressed to the viewport to the airlock until Karo flies away. She reaches over cycling the airlock closed. Standard protocol, not that she is locking Karo out or anything. Then she heads back up to the cockpit flopping down int the chair and bringing up the external cameras.

All the better to keep an eye on Karolina's joy flight out there now.

<<Yeah you should be able to use it to find the jet or for me to find you really. All of them have trackers in them really for just this sort of thing. Unless I go into stealth dark mode and stop transmitting everything from the T-Jet. Though in that case I could find you still.>>

She does keep the cameras on the stargirl. <<Hey how about Stargirl?>> she thinks <<Wonder if that one is taken or not... though I like Aurora or Borealis for sure. They both have proper Shimmer.>> pause <<Hey what about Shimmer>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
There's something so joyful and innocent about Karolina when she's out here doing this. Like an ocean creature swimming in the open sea. A bird in the air. A 'lina in space. Kind of poetic. <<You won't do that though, will you?>> she asks over the comms. <<I Mean, like, go dark and hide from me? That'd be kind of mean!>> she laughs.

She's careful not to stray too far though now, even if she does trust Kate not to do such a thing. She tries to keep the ship in sight, but really rather enjoys the sight of the Earth from up here, too. <<Um I think Stargirl and Aurora are taken... Shimmer? You think Shimmer's a good hero name? But do I even need a costume?>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
Karo is kept on the scanners and on the monitors blown up big as she flies around out there. Kate is also keeping half an eye on the varous other scanners and radars and such. They are in space after all. Anything could happen.

<<I won't go dark, we aren't on a stealth mission.>> a laugh <<I was just explaining how the beacons and tech worked.. no worries ok.>>

Kate glances up to watch Karo having checked a beep from the console. <<Borealis might be more fitting the way you leave light trails but I do like Shimmer. It is better than the Lucy handle for sure, no offense intended Karo.>> it is a mouthful after all, which the other young woman admitted. <<So how is the view?>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
Swoosh~ Swoop~ Spirals of colored light, trails lingering for entire seconds as she streaks across the stars. Or at least, across the stars across the nose of the T-Jet. It's not hard to spot her through the canopy, considering the show she's putting on. There's probably going to be some grumpy satellite operators later when they find their view obstructed by a jubilant blonde and her rainbow lightshow.

<<Oh! Good! Good. Just. Was making sure you weren't going to play a prank on me or something? I could.. probably survive re-entry.. my clothes might not though?>> she considers, drifting now on her own momentum as she ponders. <<Lucy in the Sky is... was... kind of a joke moniker anyway...? Nobody could figure out a cool name to call me... but they just sort of hitched on to my love of the Beatles, and that I fly... and that's history? Shimmer is pretty...>> she sighs, drifting sideways. <<It's beautiful.>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate smiles in the T-Jet. Karo being all happy out there is nice. Also she can only imagine what it looks like, or really feels like to actually be out there without a siut just floating in the vastness of space and looking down on the earth.

Sure she has seen it through the monitors, the window, and all sorts of HD video. But she at least imagines it is nothing like actually being directly out there.

Honestly she should suit up and do a spacewalk sometime to have really come as close to experiencing it as she can.

<<Shimmer it is then for now, can always try it a bit before it could ever possibly make the press.>>

<<What is your favorite Beatles song?>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
<<Asking me what my favorite song is... it's like trying to have one of the boys pick a favorite food...>> Karoline replies, twisting and rolling slowly, leaving spirals of color in her wake. Corkscrews of scintillating light. <<And... I like Shimmer...>> she nods, likely at least visible on the screens.

<<But I guess... umm... if I had to name one off the top of my head... it's 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'... maybe it's telling that it's my song?>> she shrugs lightly, toying with her energy, swirling it around herself and tossing it out in a lazy arc so she can catch it again. <<...the lyrics make me think of me sometimes?>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
<<Well I mean I didn't ask you to name your favorite song period just favorite Beatles song.>> she protests in her defense. <<Hell I even avoided asking who your fav Beatle was.>> teasing tones there. Smiling as she watches the corkscrews out there in space.

<<I imagine our favorite songs speak about us when you put it like that.>> she reaches for some controls and queues up 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' playing it softly over the comms there as you fly out thre in slow lazy arcs playing with your own energy powers like that. <<You're very pretty out there>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
<<That's what I mean! I like... like... all of their songs. Well. Most. They had some interesting periods... kind of like Queen had some, too, you know...?>> she asks, laughing, smiling all the brighter. She sweeps her arms together, hurling a pair of spiralling bolts that boomerang back, their orbital paths perfect enough to spin around her as they pass before dissipating behind.

<<It's... about hidden love, and the potential for it, seen but untapped... kind of like growing up how I did, everything I missed until everything went bad... so it's like I'm trying to do better...>> she trails off, listening to the words. She loops slowly in reverse, like a backwards swan dive that never seems to end. Her cheeks brighten, though, almost as if sparking some with her aura flaring. <<A-ah... wait what? Pretty?>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
<<Hmm>> thoughtful noise as she shifts and taps the controls a few more times. <<I think my favorite Beatles is either Can't Buy me love.. but more because I wish my dad would just say he loves me instead of trying to buy my affection.>> deep sigh there <<Though I like Eleanor Rigby.. which is a sad song but it .. I like it>>.

There is a laugh <<Yeah Pretty... you're amazing out there Karo .. I don't think you realize how pretty you are when you are lit up and just having so much fun backlit by the infinity of space>> she sounds amused.

<<Want to hear my theme song... >> there is a laugh <<And no teasing.. I totally picked out a song I think would play if there was a TV series about me...>> she queues up Everyday Superhero by Smash Mouth over the comms.

Karolina Dean has posed:
<<Oh, no, those are both wonderful songs... definitely in my top five, with While My Guitar Gently Weeps.. and I can understand the personal attachment, with the dad thing...>> she gives a lopsided smile. She's still blushing, though. Blushing in that radiant, glittering fashion because it has to shine past her already brilliant aura as it is.

<<Um... thank you... you're... really cute too, you know? Ahh I don't know what I'm saying... it's.. just easy to... feel relaxed out here.. like this.. let the mind wander..>> she just trails off before she ends up putting her foot in her mouth even further.

    <<And hey that's a cute song, too!>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
<<I think I like it because well I know it wasn't the point of the song but the whole bit about Ordinary and Average but still a superhero. It resonates with me.>>

Kate doesn't blush like Karolina does, but then who could blush like the other girl. She glows and shimmers out there blushing. <<And no need to appologize... Thank you.>> for the whole being told she is cute too.

<<Also mood on the dad front, though I guess at least mine is just a corporate criminal and isn't actually...>> she trails off not wanting it to be awkward. Also .. ForeShadowing...

<<Any music requests while I am DJing and watching you dance out there hot stuff?>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
<<I mean... it makes sense... you don't have, like... alien or mutant superpowers... but you're super skilled, and smart, and adorable...>> she rattles off a few things, smiling. She's still blushing. Shining brighter. Then she picks up speed a little, twirling around some. <<Yeah... my parents... apparently took part in some really, really nasty stuff...>> she sighs, trying not to think about it.

Thankfully, Kate gives her a few distractions in the form of a question, and another compliment. <<You keep this up and I'm going to come back there... and...>> and what? She doesn't know. She's not sure how to finish that sentence. <<Um, anyway... I don't know! What do you want me to dance to? Does this make you a captive audience?>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
<<Super Adorable. I am pretty sure that is not my super power but thanks Shimmer>> teasing, she is maybe blushing a little in there at this point. <<Also your plan isn't very tactical. You should at least have some sort of contigency for being told you are pretty.>>

<<I just enjoy watching you have fun and zip around, with or without music. Wasn't eally expecting a dance routine when I offered to load up another track.>> a pause <<Though when you're done I did bring a surprise.>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
Karolina laughs, <<It could be a super power!>> she retorts. <<But... yeah. I mean. No. I don't.. have a contingency plan. People don't just. Expect to be called pretty... or 'hot stuff'... at least.... seriously. And you're not a bunch of guys on a construction site in there are you?>> she teases right back, but smiles.

<<I do like surprises... luring me back like that works. I could stay out here all day and then some... but... what more surprises could you have stowed away, aside from showering me with so many compliments my face burns?>> Considering she's basically made of star stuff, that's saying something.

Kate Bishop has posed:
<<Well I mean.. if I wolf whistled it would probably break some sort of space law. So no, not a bunch of construction workers. The hot stuff was probably over the line.>> a laugh. <<It is true though that you are quite beautiful out there all radiant in the sky Karo.>>

<<I'll try to hold back the meteor shower of compliments... pace themed quips to the rescue...>> with that she levers up from the cockpit and heads back cycling the airlock. <<USS Shimmer, you are cleared for arrival in docking bay one.>>

Karolina Dean has posed:
<<Radiant in the Sky Karo is about as cumbersome as Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds...>> Karolina playfully ribs right back, but she's all smiles. All smiles and radiance. The T-Jet's thermals are probably lit up like a christmas tree when they try to take in 'Lina's form out there. <<N-no... keep them coming... I... Um. I appreciate them. And you. You're very kind.. and sweet..>> she laughs quietly, but it's a warm, sincere laugh.

Then she's swooping back, lazily, towards the ship. A slow twist, a roll, and a long arm stretch before she catches hold of the fuselage. Slowly, those trails of color she's leaving behind her begin to fade, and then the airlock on her side opens, she gingerly scoots her way inside. <<Um... what's the phrase for telling you that I'm inside?>>

Kate Bishop has posed:
<<I wonder if Radiant is taken>> pondering pause <<It might be a really good name too. Little fiercer than Shimmer, but it depends on what you are going for with a codename Karo>> she is squinting through the window into the airlock out to the open space beyond now as she watches you light up on approach.

<<Well I mean I can see you in there... or do you mean the nerdy stuff. USS Shimmer, docked and disembarking?>> she taps the control sealing the outer doors and then cycling the airlock bringing it up to atmosphere and pressure.

Important step.

Then she taps another control and opens the inner door grinning and waiting.

Karolina Dean has posed:
<<Oh I like Radiant!>> Karolina laughs, shrugging, feet on the floor of the bay now. She smiles, and keeps shining. She doesn't want to suppress her powers right now, or put on the bracelet. So when the door opens finally, she gets to greet you with that big smile, those shining cheeks, and her hands clasped behind her back.

She fidgets a little with her hands, looking, for a moment, to to be unsure. "So... um... is this the part where I try to hug you and discover that I was totally misinterpreting your compliments back there?"

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate laughs "No, hugs are completely allowed and I doubt you were misinterpreting anything." she considers though looking unsure. "I mean.. I am not very good at flirting though to be fair..."

That is derailed though by her grinning and asking "So... was it everything you wanted out there?" excited to hear your thoughts about the flight and maybe plow on from the flirting comment.

Karolina Dean has posed:
"Great! Neither am I. So, um, yeah, I was trying to flirt back at you. So lets... maybe.. figure that out.." Karolina's sails seem to lose their breeze for a moment and she bites her lip, pondering. "...after?" she finally considers. The derailment helps, even if she's still shining. Shining and blushing. "Yes! Yes it was. Out there is wonderful. You... ever sink into a nice hot bath and it just feels so perfect? That's what being out there is like. The sun is... all over me. Everywhere. Inside and out. I feel like I'm one with the stars. ...god that sounded so cheesy didn't it."

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate blushes, just a touch there as Karo confirms the flirting. She listens though and provided that derailment very, very strategically.

"I do like a warm bath or a spa day so yes... I'll just metaphor that right up for sinking into a soaking tub after a full body massage then.. but more wonerful by the way you are reacting."

Then she holds up her hand and pinches her fingers. "Just.. a littlebit cheesy but it sounds wonderful Karo." a beam of a smile and thne she is heading back in a bit to the galley and pops open the fridge pulling out some boxes "I got us a picnic lunch from a place in Metropolis that does awesome stuff, vegan friendly." it is a very expensive bakery/deli in Metropolis based on the logo. "Got several options, salad.... sandwiches that includes a chickpea salad sammich... lots of olives and other things..." she trails off and holds up a small armful of small boxes looking to you to see your reaction.

Karolina Dean has posed:
It's your blush that makes her smile cross the finish line from unsure to winning. It's that nonverbal confirmation, even as subtle as it is. Of course, her own bashfulness is running at an 11 of a possible five, because everything keeps getting stacked up the way it is.

"...bath and a body massage... y-yes, exactly, exactly like that.." The Hollywood-born girl knows exactly what that's like, and the thought of it would make her weak in the knees if she wasn't already floating an inch off of the deck. "That's perfect," she sighs.

Then... the bounty of food. She follows, and stares, "Oh... my goodness... you... got all this for me..? For us? For..." she gestures wildly with her arms. "...for up here?" Her reaction hits a 12 out of that 5 as she just... finds herself unable to articulate a response.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate carries it over to the tables in the mess, leaning over the table to press the port controls to bring up the view of the whole earth glowing down below. Basically so you can view the vastness of it all and the visage of earth while dining. She may have positioned the ship that way on purpose.

Doesn't hurt that her bending over to do that is a great view in itself.

"Yup. All tjis up here for uys to up here." she teases lightly. "Thought it might be a fun thing to do...." she turns around, leaning back on the table and making eye contact. "Did I do good?"

Karolina Dean has posed:
Karolina is definitely staring, and not just at the blue earth. She slowly reaches into her pocket, finally withdrawing her bracelet. The moment she touches it, the rainbows fade, the aura vanishes, but some things remain. Her cheeks are now blazing red, and her smile is as bright as ever. At the least she isn't competing with the earth herself now anymore--and winning.

"I... I don't... I don't know what to say..." she squeaks, moving within arm's reach but finding her limbs too heavy to really do anything more than hang uselessly. "...you did so much...! It... it's wonderful...! You're wonderful!" she squeaks out.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate watches the approach and reaction, the grin gets a little bit bigger as Karolina is reduced to squeeks and flailing verbally. The blushing is also a very good sign there. "Whew..." she notes in relief, okay maybe she is always a little sassy. Though right now it is genuine relief not just sass or smugness.

Mission accomplished.

She is leaning against the table and your taller than she is so she peers up to you from her lean there. Then well you are just holding the pose so she reaches out, takes your hands and gives a light pull to pull you forward ad down as she leans up and steals a kiss. "Glad I did wonderful." it is a brief kiss, easy for you to veto or pull away from though. Testing waters. Unsure honestly. Also nothing too explicit.

Followed by her own blush and a gesture "Your table Radiant?"

Karolina Dean has posed:
It's pretty easy with Karolina. She wears her heart on her sleeve. Emotions come as plain as day. Nothing to hide here. Just a dumbfounded expression, and those little noises. Yep. She doesn't make it any further than that until your touch kickstarts her. Eyelids blink rapidly, fluttering as she tries to work out just how long she'd been trapped in a reverie. The tug is easy, there's no resistance. But the kiss....

...she melts into. Even if it's short, chaste, fleeting... something about it makes her shudder. It's tangible, just a tremor of her form, and her face is so warm from all of that flush sending her 'blood' to the fore. A few heartbeats pass where she sucks briefly on her lower lip, then nods dumbly, half-falling into her seat.

"Y-yes, please, thank you..." she forms complete words, if not complete sentences, as her wits return to her with the slowness of a car engine after an ice storm.

Kate Bishop has posed:
Kate decides this is what winning tastes like.. wait feels like.

Still the archer is blushing ass she licks her lips and then slides around the other way so that they both have a view of the earth down below, as well as each other.

"Thanks for coming up here today, not a bad joyride and picnic date in orbit." she notes still watching you while she starts to open the takeout containers setting out said vegan friendly space picnic.

If nothing out it makes it one heck of a psuedo first date to beat, might be a record.

Karolina Dean has posed:
To be fair, Karolina probably does taste like victory. Or at least, some kind of sweet fruity goodness. Maybe it's her lip gloss. Or the fact she's made of literal sunshine and rainbows. That has to be part of it. She leans on her elbows, finding it hard to choose between looking at the planet, or watching you unload the meal.

"...hey... no, thank -you- for taking me up here. I want to do things in space more. It feels so much like home up here... out there... and... um.." she nervously rubs the side of her head.

"I do like being with you, too..." she nods, never having thought she'd ever have a date in /space/. It's pretty awesome.
