Karolina Dean is a radiant, kind-hearted woman who doesn't let her life be dictated by the fact that her deceased parents are criminal fugitives of an alien race. After discovering her powers and dissolving the cabal they had been a part of with her group of friends, she took herself to New York City to escape her demons and find a new life. She flies and fights to protect others with the powers of her species--the ability to absorb and control solar radiation. With barriers and blasts she juggles hero-ing and me-time with being a student at NYU. While not yet an active member of any local hero group, she happily provides aid wherever she can, and as often as she can without showing off her particularly flashy flavor of powers.

Timeline:
* July 10 2001 - Born in Hollywood Hills, California, to stars Frank and Leslie Dean, unknowing of their true origins.
* 2001-2010 - Grows up the child of two Hollywood stars, largely managing to keep from spending too much time in the spotlight and being wellt aken care of.
* 2010-2014 - Forges friendships with many individuals around her age, families all closely connected to one another.
* 2014 - Everything unravels and is discovered all at once. Her friends uncover the Pride, she uncovers her powers and that she and her parents are aliens. Karolina and her friends also discover that all of their parents are part of an underworld criminal group known as 'The Pride.' The teens form a group call 'The Runaways' and work to undermine their parents and The Pride and bring them to justice.
* 2015 - The Runaways are ruthlessly hunted by their parents but they discover the hands pulling the strings behind the Pride and manage to successfully halt the Rite of Thunder. The sacrifice is saved but all of the teens' parents are slain. The Runaways part ways and Karolina is put into foster care.
* 2016 - Regular visits to a therapist, despite issue with the foster family, help Karolina with not only the events she had witness and lived through, but her own status as an extraterrestrial.
* 2017 - Karolina emancipates and connects with her friends from the Runaways one last time before saying goodbye. Not wanting to remain in Los Angeles and deal with the memories and trauma there, she moves to New York City to live away from her past and build a new future.
* 2018 - Karolina is in NYC when Loki opens his rifts. She manages to get a firmer grasp on her powers in a trial by fire. She learns quickly what she can and can't do, her limits, and discovers the boundless joy brought by helping people in need.
* 2020 - Karolina continues to study at NYU, living off of her late parents' Hollywood fortune and royalties. She passes the time not studying by doing charity work as both Karolina and heroic deeds as her semi-secret alter-ego, Lucy in the Sky.

Free Spirit:
Karoline exults in living, laughing, and loving. She can be whimsical and euphoric at times, and often takes advantage of her power of flight to simply get away and roam. Though still a little self- conscious about her romantic attractions and prefernces, she isn't afraid to dangle her heart out there with a smile and a playful compliment.

Kind:
Karolina is a kind, gentle soul. She's usually upbeat and friendly, happy to offer a smile or helping hand even in the most mundane of situations. Her warmth is always felt, literally from her body radiating heat, and just the personality she does her best to keep at the forefront.

Protective:
Karolina cares deeply for the well-being of those around her. She will put herself in dangerous positions, without a thought, to keep an innocent from being hurt. She is quick to intervene on behalf of others to see thems afe from harm.

Sensitive:
Despite her outwardly uplifting and radiant appearance, Karolina holds a lot of empathy for the plights of others, as well as being sensitive to her own misfortunes. She can be found often shedding tears, either for her own damages, or on behalf of others.

Vegan:
Likely primarily from the influence of her celebrity parents, Karolina maintains a vegan diet and a friendly 'hippy' lifestyle. She does not usually begrudge others their dietary choices unless they poke fun at her.

Bioluminescent:
Karolina's natural state is a being of shimmering, rainbow light in human form. She is luminous, iridescent, and her form exudes waves in a rainbow of colors. She is able to turn her true form 'on' or 'off' with concentration though can suppress it with a medic alert bracelet made of alien metal.

Enhanced Strength:
Through the nature of her body's makeup and the manipulation of her own energy, Karolina and her people are roughly of above average strength of a human. She can overturn a car with considerable effort but not lift it over her head. She has a far easier time stopping falling rocks and speeding semi trucks with her solar barriers instead.

Flight:
She can fly, fast and free. A trail of rainbow-colored light follows her, making her easy to trace in the sky. She can breach the sound barrier, if pressed, and the resulting sonic boom leaves an explosion of colors expanding from the epicenter. She is able to carry people along with her as well.

Heat Immune:
Karolina is able to withstand the harshest of heat conditions as well as emit heat of her own to provide warmth in the cold.

Solar Blast:
The solar energy Karolina absorbs can be turned into a variety of offensive tools. From wide -diameter blasts of extreme concussive force, to beams of pinpoint energy that are akin to lasers.

Solar Energy Manipulation:
Karolina's form is essentially humanoid-shaped bioplasma. She is able to absorb solar radiation and make use of it in various ways. This solar energy permeates every cell of her form, even her blood. When in direct sunlight, her abilities are stronger, and she can heal at an accelerated rate. It also has the side effect of making her blood immensely lethal to vampires.

Solar Shields:
Karolina can form her solar energy into directional barriers of force or encompassing domes to either protect or detain individuals and herself. They can, with enough energy expenditure, be durable enough to withstand a building collapsing atop them.

Superhuman Durability:
Karolina is incredibly resilient. Her body is tremendously resistant to blunt and impact trauma, though it can and will hurt. Energy weapons that primarily cause heat-related injuries are largely ineffective as her body just absorbs it. Average blades will be hard pressed to pierce her skin but finely honed and rapidly thrust blades may. Other fast moving piercing weapons and projectiles are the true threat, able to penetrate her skin and open up wounds that 'bleed' the bio-plasma that makes up her body's cells. Enough loss and she can pass out, to the point of it being life threatening. This is an equivalent to hypovolemic shock in humans or other organisms that rely on bloodflow to survive. Being in sunlight or direct sunlight to absorb the solar radiation can (as noted in Solar Energy Manipulation) heal her wounds quicker.

Type Immunity:
The solar manipulating abilities of her race have no effect on her nor do hers have any effect on other Majesdenians.

Brawling:
Though preferring to resolve conflicts by words or her solar powers, Karolina has as much chance in an unpowered unarmed fight as your average human.

Green Thumb:
Between being basically living sunlight and taking agricultural studies in college, Karolina is a wonder with all things plant related. She grows her own produce in her rooftop garden to supplement her vegan diet and is happy to share any excess.

Teamwork:
While not a candidate for team leader, Karolina's sunny disposition and support skills and overall friendliness make her both a great team player and sometimes can be the glue that holds things together. While she lacks confidence, she is reliable and empathic, and is candid about her own fears which can put others at ease with honesty and determination.

Apartment:
Karolina has a modestly-sized apartment with private roof access. She uses the roof for a variety of things, including a launch point for flights around the city, a place to soak up the sun, as well as the sizable garden she tends to.

Royalties:
Despite her parents being alien criminals (and earth criminals), they were still movie and tv stars. Karolina claims royalty payments from her family's estate to handle her daily lifestyle needs. She could live a life of Hollywood luxury with the money but keeps the majority in savings to take care of things she needs or wants to make a charitable donation.

Power Suppression:
A certain type of metal or metal alloy has the effect of suppressing Karolina's powers. She can't glow, fly, or do anything with her stored solar energy while in direct contact with this metal. The medic alert bracelet she wears is even enough to lock her down and weapons made of this metal can deflect or even cut through her solar projections.

Solar Powered:
Every usage of her energy projecting skills, from fighting to shielding to flying, drains her stored reserves. In daylight, she has a bottomless wellspring of power. At night, she can use up all of her power and be unable to use not just her barriers and projectiles, but she also will be more susceptible to harm. This of course means she needs to meter out her usage on overcast days, and take care inside of buildings.

Stellar Fugitive:
Karolina's parents traded information on the whereabouts of their home planet, Majesdane, to the Skrull in exchange for a boon. In addition to being wanted criminals on their homeworld, this trade puts their entire species at risk. While Karolina had nothing to do with it, she bears the weight of the sins of her parents in the eyes of her people. She's at risk of being found, taken, and tried for these crimes. Karolina herself has no knowledge of any of these things, as she herself has only recently discovered her own alien heritage, and not the details or the circumstances.

The New Pride:
In her absence and despite the rest of efforts of the Runaways, the Los Angeles underworld has roots that run deep. The Pride, reformed and under new management, knows who Karolina is and that she's no longer in California. The denizens of the underworld thrive and grudges die hard, with fingers that can reach far and wide. And not all of her parents' secrets were buried deep, leaving information that may make Karolina vulnerable.

Be still my beating Art	November 26th, 2022	An art exhibit on the waterfront is attended by a Juggernaut, Saeko, Karolina and Harper. Though they come for different reasons, all four end up having to protect civilians trying to absorb some culture and street vendor food, from a trio of artifical objects that rise from the nearby river. The huge hunks of scrap are melded together cars, machines and objects discarded into the river of varying stages of rust and deay, but now bound together by cables, wires and red LEDs lights. Juggernaut commits massive physical damage to the floating artificial junkpiles while Saeko and karolina help evacuate civilians and both shield them from shrapnel and prevent the artificial entities from advancing further. A mess is made but the four survive and succeed in destroying the threat. The question remains why these things are following this travelling exhibit. Electricity vampires? Haunted objects? And why were those hotdogs so irresistable!?

The great battle station is infiltrated and Brainiac technology used to undermine it, while a fight takes place on the surface of War World itself to take out the shield generators. The mission is a success and War World flees - but not all the Titans return.
