Date of Scene: 11 February 2021
Location: Shaw's Residence - Hellfire Club
Synopsis: Shaw and Tessa discuss more things that have come up at the Club.
Cast of Characters: Sebastian Shaw, Tessa

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Work from home is great if you're the boss. Shaw has been up for a couple of hours, taking care of calls and doing the administrative work of running a multinational corporation. That isn't to say he's ONLY been working. He has a newspaper open in front of him, which it seems he's paged half way through. The man stands up from his table, and seems to be considering his next move, when he calls in the direction of the attached room, "Tessa?" not that he doesn't think she's awake, but more he just thought of something to discuss with her and he has a moment to do so now.

Tessa has posed:
As it turns out, Tessa IS awake in the next room. Remarkably intuitive at reading his moods, when the woman sees Sebastian working at the pace he's been maintaining, she knows to give him some space. Annnd, when he calls her through the open doorway separating their rooms, she is only a few paces away. She's dressed traditionally today, meaning traditionally for the Hellfire Club. Minus the long cloak, in such an informal setting. Stepping into the doorway, she replies. "Coffee, Sebastian?"

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Yes, please." Shaw replies, as his eyes glance over Tessa's form, before his phone buzzes. He looks at it, and then sends a quick text, before he walks in the direction of the woman. "I also need to discuss with you a few things that are going on that I haven't had a moment to discuss with you in the past few days. We've had some...movement on things that I've been working on."

It would seem his walk around was just to stretch his back a little, as he slides back into his seat, and waits for Tessa to bring over his coffee. The man says, "First, I need you to work with Viola Fiore on party planning for the Mardi Gras event. We're at the point where things need to be signed and payments need to start going out, and you can handle all of that. As well as design for the party. We also need to figure out your and the girls' costumes," he comments, giving her another long look as her back is turned preparing the drink.

Tessa has posed:
Tessa already has coffee 90 percent prepared, and turns back into her own kitchenette to finish up when Sebastian continues. She pauses, back half turned towards him, to listen. "Viola Fiore." she repeats, making a mental note and already scanning her extensive memory for any information on the woman. A single nod, then she disappears for a few moments.

Returning with coffee service on a tray, she pours and prepares a cup for him... just the way he likes it. And out of habit, she bends low at the waist like one of the brazenly-clad waitresses in the more exclusive clubs. "As for costumes, Sebastian, with this being Mardi Gras there should be traditional, elaborate masks." Pause. "And probably very little else."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Thank you Ms. Fox," Sebastian replies, before he takes a sip of the drink and motions for her to take her customary spot beside him. The man does not mind the movements Tessa makes, drinking them in with his eyes. He replies, "This is true, but we need to figure out what the masks and the little else is." He considers for a few moments, "I want you to model for me tonight. We will choose then. That should give our suppliers plenty of time to get what we need."

"Also, I am thinking of shaking up the organization of the club a little bit. Allegra Caradenza is looking to join the inner circle. While I do not think she is quite ready yet, I am considering promoting Ms. Natchios to Rook, to potentially open the position of Knight to Ms. Caradenza."

Tessa has posed:
Tessa finishes serving his coffee before preparing a cup for herself. She settles beside him, hip against hip, and crosses one leg over before raising the china cup to her lips. Hazel eyes are almost impassive when he talks of modeling for him, and she inclines her head in silent assent. But it's the comment about Ms. Caradenza that gets more of her attention. "Ms. Caradenza would make an interesting choice for the Inner Circle. Sometimes we must learn by doing, even if it involves making mistakes." Referring to Ms. Caradenza, of course, not Sebastian's selection of her.

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Indeed. I have given her a task -- related to our new friends who are wiping out our competition for us -- and there will be more before I am confident that she has earned -- and is capable of -- a promotion into such a position. She may fit better as a Bishop, but Mr. Merlyn is so difficult for me to dislodge from there, and I do not trust him as a Rook." Shaw explains, before taking another sip of his drink. He then adds, "As to our friends in the slums, they attacked a human trafficking ring the other evening. It seems they are taking the bait I am laying out for them. I may reach out to them later this week, or I will let Ms. Caradenza do her job and see how that progresses."

He then moves onto the next item of the agenda, "Finally...we have a slight situation on our hands. Have you seen the news about the powered individual named Shannon Davis?" he asks, turning to look at Tessa.

Tessa has posed:
Tessa listens with passive (yet full) attention while she sips her coffee. She trusts to Shaw's assessment of Club politics, since that is his forte as much as information is hers. Then the subject turns to Shannon Davis and her display on the news. "You mean did I see her brash, tasteless display of power and ego? One doesn't need to follow the news to hear such things."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
"Yes. Here is the problem though." He picks up a nearby tablet, and turns it on. There are two pictures on the screen. One is of a woman chained to a chair in a room that Tessa is probably fairly familiar with -- it's a room some Shaw and HFC opponents end up in after being...detained by the organizations -- and the second is a close up of the woman's face. It is Shannon Davis. "It seems the individual that is rampaging about like a madwoman is a doppelganger of this person we have in our care. She attacked one of our associates a few days ago, and was apprehended by his guards. She has been under our care since Monday. This new Shannon Davis has appeared in the time since. I fear our guards have committed a blunder by capturing Ms. Davis, and am working out scenarios whereby we might release her without any ill will or suspicion coming our way. I think drugging and leaving in a dumpster somewhere may work."

Tessa has posed:
Tessa tilts her head to look at the tablet, leaning in a bit. Yes, she's familiar with the room in question, of course. "Interesting. So someone claiming to be Shannon Davis is running around the city and blasting buildings." The woman looks thoughtful for a moment. "Has the doppelganger shown any sign or interest in the real Ms. Davis? I am wondering whether having *two* versions of Ms. Davis loose in the world might not be the best option. Other than making an outstanding distraction, that is."

Sebastian Shaw has posed:
Sebastian Shaw nods, "I have considered that possibility. I am concerned that might lead to a little more blowback for our organization. Should we set her up as a distraction. A quick dump into a dumpster with some disreputable drugs in her system might do what we need to discredit any accusations she might make." He ponders this for a few more moments, and then he shakes his head, "Either way, I think we need to divest ourselves of this individual before it becomes much more of a headache."

Tessa has posed:
Tessa purses her lips just a little, setting coffee cup onto saucer with a curt nod. "I agree, Sebastian. The woman is rapidly becoming a liability to the Club." The cup gets set onto the tray, then, and she adds. "I can take care of the details if you wish." After all, if Sebastian has -people- for such things, Tessa is one to coordinate them.
