Cast of Characters: Nettie Crowe, Jovian Anderson

Nettie Crowe has posed:
The Candle, Booke and Bell is a store hidden among boutiques and sneaker stores, humbly showing a 'tea of the day' sandwich board outside (which shows that the tea of the day is Lavender Grey). It has an odd door, rounded at the top with a porthole which has been covered from the inside with black fabric (so mysterious!), and its shopkeep is at the tea bar, towards the far bend, leaned over it with a cup of tea and a scone at her side, eyes engrossed in some historical romance novel with a supernatural bend.

"... well, that makes not a lick of sense... the necklace fell all over the floor in a million pieces, the vampire should be coerced into counting them all..."

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian has been using a randomizer to control his actions and finds the store quite by accident. He is super curious though given the lore he sought earlier at the HFC. He listens and nods, "Isnt that popular folklore though?" as he comes in, "That some varieties are ocd? So many different legends its hard to tell what is 'real' or not." He looks around the store, curious and enjoying the decorum.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Oh! My apologies--" the girl's british accent comes through plainly, and she gives a smile from beneath her silver-grey hair. "I didn't hear you come in-- and that is true. Regional varieties supposedly have different qualities, but in this case?" she taps the book. "The story takes place in the Carpathian Mountains, so he should be compulsed to count them and not chase after some half-fressed girl fleeing into a dying rose garden." she gives a bright grin. "A fellow student of folklore, mm?"

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian says, "I recently met someone I'm pretty sure really is and I can say that I would be shocked if she would be so easily distracted but in Eastern Europe..." he shrugges and nodds. "Well nothing wrong with half dressed girls but best not if they get snacked on." He chuckls, "I've been studying a lot recently due to...a potential tie myself. I dont use magic but am worried I might be indirectly connected to it, so I've been reading up but ecclectivly"

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Oh? Someone who you think may be a vampire? Quite curious." the girl replies, and she pours herself more tea from a plain, white teapot.

"Not often someone comes in qith such conviction; care for a cuppa tea?" she questions. "Why are you worried that you may be indirectly connected to magic?

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian nods and points to the tea, "Mind if I?" If ina tea shop one should have tea after all. He nods to her offer, "Yes please." He shrugs, "There is a certain rumor of dopplegangers going around the city that is true in my case and the lovecraftian manner of the manifestation thinks that, at least potentailly that might tap my own as well

Nettie Crowe has posed:
A teacup is produced, and tea is poured into it. It's a rich, deep reddish-brown. Decidedly not the Lavender Grey that was advertised. It's earthy and orangey in aroma.

"That is a most curious circumstance, having a doppleganger, even moreso of Lovecraftian mannered dopplegangers. Which begs the question: King in Yellow, Cthullhu?" she questions, though there was a serious undertone to her voice. Her eyes were set on JOvian as she looks him up and down.

"So you're looking to learn magic because of your evil twin?"

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian is not an afficionado so doesnt realize its of better quality but likes it anyway. He sips slowly. "I have done some research into that, and yes...its more King in Yellow than Cthulu or...I can't even pronounce the other ones, though it used tentacles of darkness. They seemed sapient shadow contructs." He shrugs, "And I'm not learning to LEARN magic, but more about it. I'm worried that it might be ...I dont know what I dont know. I can describe it more if you like.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Nettie rubs her chin in thought a moment as she looks over Jovian. "Well, there's plenty of books with the basic ideas behind manifestation of energies, ritual work, defenses of the metaphysical nature. There's plenty of people in the New Age community who stop by here for teas and for my apothecary services..." she trails off a moment as she purses her lips, steepling her fingers a moment as she looks over Jovian with her aquamarine eyes.

"Describe to me what you want; I may be able to advice." she states -- and she slides over a scone. It is also orangey.

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian nods and considers, "I doubt I would want to work magic even if I had an aptitude for it, something...I dunno, I have enough to deal with having po....unusual elements to what I can do." He sips the tea and seems to enjoy it. "My dopple is insanely powerful compared to me. I can make shadows hide me a bit, phase a bit and make a single weapon. This guy can make dozens of tentacles appear from any area, phase all the time, and hide ...but there is like...a whispering element to it, almost like madness to hear it whispering in the back of your mind, fear or whatever emotion he wants to convey, usually fear, and its...I dunno it FEELS like the tentacles dip into magic....like my power but more than my power...something else....something In them

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Oh, no, does that *ever* sound Lovecraftian." the woman states as her expression sours a moment, and she gives a mild look to Jovian.

"If you have powers, you can discuss it here. I don't judge based on genetics or level of aptitude." she states simply.

"My name is Nettie, by the by. Might I have yours?" she inquires, her eyebrows rising up.

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian nods, "I was...experimented on, and it awoke them in me a while ago. Jovian, nice to meet you. I can make Bolos out of darkness, I can flicker out and phase for short periods and I can conceal myself, but I dont know if the lovecraftian element is just because other me is insane and thinks himself cthulu or this darkness dimension sitaution is ...dunno...like I said, it just feels like magic might be involved

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Nettie leans forward a moment, her eyes going momentarily unfocused as if she was deep in thought.

"And the whispering element is what drew you more towards magic. What do you hope to do with such knowledge then? Prepare to fight your evil clone should they return?" she asks in curiosity, drawing back as her head tilts.

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian is curious what is going on as she senses that. "Right now I'll take not getting killed by my clone until people a lot more compoent than I amshut hatever crazy door they open, but holding my own would be nice.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"Well, then the best thing to do would be to locate your doppleganger and kindly inquire regarding which methods they use to open the door. That is the thing about doors -- they can be shut and locked. Sometimes even by other people." she gives a kind smile to him.

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian blinks, "Well he sort of wants to kill me and take my place in this reality. And when I've met him unlike some of the other dopples I've heard of he doesnt do speeches he just kills. But I know 'me' well enough that maybe I can get him to monolog a bit.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"That *does* seem problematic, the whole 'wanting to kill you' item. Better take along a couple of really good friends who can pull you out of it if you need backup." she considers a moment, and Nettie breaks off a piece of her own pastry.

"Not to mention the significant risk of being tentacled to death. That's also a definite risk."

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian nods, considering, "I might know some people who can help with that..." he sips tea and considers, "Its not a bad idea and I guess it makes more sense than constantly running all the time. And yeah, I do admit being tentacled to death definitely isnt my...." he shrugs and points to the teacup and smiles

Nettie Crowe has posed:
"... well done." Nettie replies to Jovian a moment, and she cracks a smile.

"Nor mine. I happen to have a few friends in the magical community, perhaps one of them knows someone with strong enough powers to lend a hand." she states, and she pulls a card from nowhere, sleight of hand as it were, and she offers him the card.

Annette Crowe -- tea blender and apothecary. Booke, Candle and Belle, along with an E-mail and phone number.

Jovian Anderson has posed:
Jovian considers, "I am not gonna say no to help dealing with the tentacled abomination that kind of looks like me." He takes the contact information and retursn one of his own, Jovian Anderson - Bounty Hunter, Merc, Bodyguard with Email and phone. "I'll let you know what I find.

Nettie Crowe has posed:
Annette accepts the card, and she looks it over, her eyebrows rising up.

"Bounty Hunter, Mercenary, and Bodyguard. With a magical evil twin. You /do/ lead an adventurous life, Mr. Anderson." Nettie remarks, and she tucks the card under the counter.

"Do drop in should you need more advice or tea."
