Another night in the life
Date of Scene: 23 April 2021
Location: Alley
Synopsis: Vic investigates a ritualistic murder. Who and why.
Cast of Characters: Barbara Gordon, Vic Sage

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Babs is safe at home, seated in front of her massive bank of computers with one hand gingerly working an aerial drone hovering over an alley in Gotham. The sky is lit up with flashes of red and blue from GCPD squad cars positioned in a defensive paremeter around the street side end of the alley, yellow tape providing another physical barrier so that the detectives can work in relative seclusion from the constant flash of phone cameras where the media is already waiting in the lerch.

In the alley, a body is laid out in a manner that would be considered rather bizzare if it weren't Gotham City. Roman Numerals scratched into the bare chest of a young man that couldn't be older than 27 or 28. A businessman by the style of slacks and shoes he's wearing. Atypical scene only because the briefcase near him has all of his belongings untouched.

Vic Sage has posed:
Vic Sage arrives at the crime scene descretly looking it over intense taking note of any interesting details. Takes out a note pad and starts writing a basic rundown of what he's observing.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
The scene is grizzly: No obvious signs of a struggle in the surrounding alleyway, no blood spray from the numericals cut into the chest. The way the body is laid out is very specific, as well. A XXI carved just between the pecks with the arms out like the body was trying to fly off. Rigor has not yet set in, putting a rough time of death at just under 3-4 hours.

Vic Sage has posed:
The question mutters to himself as he notes. "the cut was post mortum. no bleeding. Lack of blood, no signs of struggle. killed else where and dumped them here. Why here? Why 21? Strange"

Barbara Gordon has posed:
One of the officers, wearing the typical black uniform of GCPD, is chronicling evidence. Physically taking stock of what they've found as well as recording what they can't take with them, such as body placement, with photograph. "Almost seems like something Zsasz would do, but the throat isn't slit." Said to one of his comrades, the older officer snorting as he puffs on his cigarette. "Son of a bitch's been in Arkham for months, though. Can't be him."

Vic Sage has posed:
The mention of Zsasz makes the Question cringe. The Question, Birth name being Charles Victor Zsasz Has alway fumed at having to share a name with this Serial Killer. The question then retorts. "When was the last time someone being in Arkham prevented them from getting out and commiting crimes?"

Barbara Gordon has posed:
The Officer glances up at the quiet detectives question, "Well, usually we know they're out right?" Looking from Victor to his superior, who only shrugs, "I mean we get word that they escaped? Usually..." Besides, Zsasz rarely did anything quietly. At least in so far as his victims. Which could make this a copy cat...

Vic Sage has posed:
"I don't think it's a copy cat" The question tands down to look at the face of the victim. "This is a product killing not a process killing. the ritualistic cutting the posing, the making sure to keep the sight clean. This is a message of some short. By who? to whom? and the purpose I'm still trying to piece together. But the point here wasn't the killing."

Barbara Gordon has posed:
The younger officer glances up at the older, who again shrugs and heads over towards his squad car. He's been on the job long enough not to question Gotham City Detectives. "Well, if we can... help.." The young'n says as he moves over to join his older comrade. Leaving Vic alone with the body to finish collecting his evidence.
