My Lunch With Gabby
Date of Scene: 16 May 2021
Location: Fred's Diner
Synopsis: Thomas has a house sitter, or is she a home invader?
Cast of Characters: Gabby Kinney, Thomas Blake

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney sits at a booth by herself being a typical teen. At least the staff hopes so--Her lack of height did make it problematic in wondering if she was a very young kid that had been left by her parents, but the fact that she had a cellphone in hand, and money in her pocket, seemed a good argument to her just being really, really short. Either way she orders a strawberry milkshake with fudge ontop because why the hell not? She's slurping it in between bites of a large plate of french fries done up British style with salt, malt vinegar and ketchup as she tries to figure out if she likes it or not. While watching cat memes. All in all a good day so far.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake saunters down the aisle of the diner, spots Gabby and makes a bee line for her. No cat mask. Reddish brown jacket. Those blue tinted aviator glasses they like in Gotham. He walks over and fgives Gabby's hair a gentle ruffle, despite his rough hands and sits down opposite her. He waves off the menu offered.

"Steak," he says to the waitress.

"Rare and lots. Extra lean. And what she's drinking, and some chips."

He watches her leave and says, "You guys are the devil to find. I need you for a job, if you want it."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney lifts her hand to ieffectually swat away the hair rumpling hand with a noise of disagreement. But she's also got a mouthful of milkshake right now so she has to gulp it down before talking. Which means that he's sat down and ordered by the time she has. At least she recognizes him quick enough. "That's kind of the point, not being found. And..." She hesitates here, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "What kind of job? You know I don't do the kind of things my sisters do." Which is to say, uh, what? Does he know? Either way she shrugs a bit not making a move for the door. So she's up for listening. "Also my lunch is on you now."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake regards her with a steady stare. "I'll pay for lunch if you take the job. Or amuse me. The job is actually legit. I uh got word on the street our friends at AlcheMax are making moves to hire someone to take me down. This is a person that I regard as a serious threat. Batman should regard him as a serious threat. Therefore I am getting the hell our of Dodge for a while and taking a job overseas for a while. I figure he won't think twice about trying to kill me but if he takes a month or more to find me... well he could fill three contracts in that time. Plus I am not easy to run down. I want /you/ to mind my house. Take in the mail, walk the grounds. Sleep over if you want. Keep an eye on things. Stay out of the basement. I have a minor demonic infestation there I need to take care of. Fucking mages are even harder to find. You in?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney plucks up a french fry to begin chewing on it lightly as she listens. Her posture straightens, and she laces her fingers together as if she were some evil mastermind considering a plot. It doesn't really work as a look for her, but she is paying attention at least. "So." Another fry is nabbed. "You want me to watch a house potentially being picked out by an assassin, who may or may not also be read in on me and my sisters, out to find you. And demons." She nods here as if that was a rather usual thing. "Yeah they're tough to get rid of. I have a person for that." Tipping her head to the side she considers, only to shrug. "What's the pay?"

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake nods and gives the waitress a smile as his steaks arrive. "They tried to lock me and the Black Canary up and get blackmail on us. Anyway as soon as the coast is clear I'll plan some other shenanigans. I might blow something up. As for the pay, I figure this is three to six weeks. Make it easy on yourself what do you want?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Well." This causes Gabby to pause considering. "I'm gonna have to get one of two people in on this and that would definitely cause a price difference." A french fry is jabbed at Thomas' direction. "If you want to get rid of the demons, then the Queen of Limbo doesn't come cheap. It'd probably be a 'favor to be determined' or something suitably spooky. Or I can just tag in my roommate, Negasonic Teenage Warhead for helping keep things in check on both demon and potential Alchemax side of things." She ponders here thoughtfully. "Probably a kickass motorcycle or two in that case. I could use a stash location that my sisters don't know about."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake rubs his eyes, "Did someone stick a sign that says 'Schmuck' on my back? I'm not asking you to do anything about the demons or whatever. They stay in the basement, you stay out. And... I don't want a Mutant shoot 'em up. All they really do is fuck with you, yell in your ear poke you a little. I'll discuss this Demon Queen separately. If you want someone to hold your hand you cut them in. I'll give you a thousand a week and the lock box service for a year free, and I tend to think you'll be so useful you will get the service free forever."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney spreads her hands a little bit at that. "Not shmuck, no, just... Covering my bases and giving options. My friends have helped me out a lot. And I find that if I'm out of contact with them for awhile I tend to get into worse and worse stuff. So. Negasonic it is. She's chill for the most part. Just a bit antihuman. Could probably use some time away from her own kind a bit to get some perspective." The pay offered is given a nod of agreement. "Okay, deal then."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake looks a little surprised the negotiations ended so quickly. "Okay, for a thousand. We will discuss a search and destroy missions and the Demon Queen later." A bit of a find smile there, but... who has find recollections of demons? "And as for your friend... I'm anti-human about a lot of things, and barely human at times. Lunch is on me as agreed." He hands a small booklet over to her of realtor information and further instructions.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney shrugs a little in response. "Eh if she's up to it." It really wasn't her place to be selling off Illyana's services, after all, but she could make a recommendation. Either way she takes the realtor information packet to read over thoughtfully. "Okay so this is your like, legit place? You got any defenses or boobytraps or anything we ought to know about? Other than demons in the basement." There's a pause, and she picks up her milkshake to gesture with it. "I'm totally leading some Alchemax goons down there if I can btw. Suit them right." Maybe. Maybe that was a bit too harsh. Ah well.

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake puts a finger on the folio and pins it to the table. "Listen Hermione... I do not want AlcheMax to have an inkling of this place. In fact I sold it and bought it again under a cover to keep it legit and clean. You. Do. Not lead anyone back to it. It is my home. And how smart is it to want a safe house and then plan to blow it to the evil corporation? if AlcheMax shows up there... I am going to be really disappointed with you. Do you understand?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney holds up her hands in a 'woah' gesture when he starts getting all serious. "Lemme clarify: IF they find this place, I'mma do that. I'm not planning on going out and hunting them down myself. I had a run in with them awhile back to begin with and I know Captain Mooney is not at all happy with the cape that dragged him into the sky threatening to drop him a few dozen times. But I can't help if they figure it out themselves." With that said she settles back again nodding thoughtfully. "Gotcha. Safe house, hush hush. Anyone asks we're your neices visiting for..." She pauses a moment to pull out her phone. "What holiday is coming up? I'll figure something out."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake says deadpan, "National Cherry Cobbler Day. Don't worry. Neighbors leave the place alone. Now wait a moment there... Captain Mooney... what's the first name?" He pulls a notebook out of his jacket... I got some skinny on these d-bags recently." He starts flipping through it. "When I get back... maybe you, me and your little friend can pay this Mooney a visit... right. I got the dirt on his house right here. I paid Damage Control a visit. They installed security devices for AlcheMax after I began troubling them. I got it here... vault, panic room, motion sensors... brands."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney furrows her brow with a little concentrating frown. "I don't know. He was the one that ran the 'trainings' for us back in the labs. He's the one that," she reaches up to touch the scar on one eye. "Did this so he could 'tell us freaks apart.' He was always just Captain Mooney to us. The capes spoke to the cops about him so he might be out of my hair for awhile. He just holds a grudge, big time." Looking back again the serious demeanor has shifted a bit to a more jovial one. "Yeah we can look into that."

Thomas Blake has posed:
Thomas Blake gives her a wink. "I can get some contacts in the insurance game to tell me what kind of swag he has too. When you have your growth spurt... I'll introduce you to some people. Not the Arkham Asylum freaks. Business contacts like this. Not Damage Control. Those guys are aces legit. I'd use them."
