Date of Scene: 09 July 2021
Location: Horse Stables
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Yukio, Logan Howlett

Yukio has posed:
The country was foreign. The Mansion was foreign. The language was mostly foreign because Yukio worked hard at getting better all the time. The students were foreign, faces were foreign, and everything was perfectly weird.

It's why Yukio took some of her spare time to spend with the lovely horses at the stable, they were very familiar. Standing by one black horse, Yukio was busy brushing its mane lovingly, talking faintly in Japanese as if the horse could understand.

<<And then I saw a real Yanki girl, with all kinds of piercings, she looked so scary...but she was nice, and she had a demon friend, but not a real demon, she just looked and acted like one. So it's really quite safe, besides, I will protect you...>>

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan got a mail.

It was a request, from the grandfather of one Yukio Momochi. As he sat down and read the missive, resting in the cabin he has set up a short distance away from the Xavier's School, Logan takes his hand and rubs it against his forehead. "Give me a goddamn break." He tosses the letter aside, shaking his head.

"Fuck." He mutters under his breath as he stands up and leaves his cabin. He's dressed in red flannel today, with blue jeans and brown boots. Working clothes. He'd talk to Yukio at some point, sure, but chores were important and as groundskeeper, that includes taking care of the horses as a stablehand.

But when he arrives? She's already there! Logan grumbles a little bit under his breath as he approaches.

<<The horse's name is Thunder, and she runs like a beast. Though usually she's not so easily approachable.>> He speaks in perfect Japanese, despite the gruffness of his voice, he carries over a bale of hay, and moves closer, offering Yukio a sugar cube. <<Here, feed 'er that.>>

Yukio has posed:
<<Thunder...what a powerful and fear inducing name, it fits you well,>> Yukio coos out to the horse in that practiced high pitched tone she's accustomed to. She reaches to press her cheek lovingly against the horse, before patting her and turning to look towards Logan.

Putting down the brush, she proceeds to take a respectful bow, <<Logan=san, a pleasure to meet you. I am Momochi Yukio, please be nice to me, I apologize for any hardships I present to you. I do not wish to be a burden, but grandfather wouldn't have it any other way.>>

When Logan notes how Thunder normally isn't approachable, Yukio whispers, <<it is in Toh, Kuji Kiri of harmony, that we find friends in animals, and animals find a friend in us, I studied well....I understand grandfather taught you some Iga-ryu secrets himself...a great honor indeed. You must be a very special man, Logan=san, it's an honor to meet you.>>

The childish squee that follows breaks a great deal from the convience of a smart little master of ninjutsu, Yukio just presented, she jumps up and down in excitment, clapping her hands, and reaches to take the sugar cube, feeding Thunder and giggling at the feeling of her lips and tongue. <<CUTE!!!!>>

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan seems to grunt a little bit as he finally puts the haybail down, making it look easy thanks to natural and mutant-given strength, but the respectful bow as is appropriate to custom and culture is offered to him, Logan was not unfamiliar. He returns the bow ever so slightly. <<No burden.>> He replies to her before he's looking around then. <<Look, kid, I don't know what you're grandfather expects me to teach you that you don't already know, but its clear that you're different, and that's fine.>>

Logan probably just treated her better in one sentence than her grandfather has her entire life. Potentially. Possibly. Who knows, really?

<<But you're right, your grandfather did teach me some of the ways of your clan. Its not about being special, I saved his life some many years ago.> But Logan was so young! and her grandfather was....so old?!

All the same, Logan continues. <<But the honor is mine, Momochi Yukio. I hope you're making yourself well at home here.>>

Yukio has posed:
<<Did he not tell you the truth...?>> Yukio asks, curious, wondering if that is perhaps how he conned Logan into essentially babysitting Yukio from afar while she's sent away from her homeland.

<<Logan-san...>> Yukio starts, one can almost see in her eyes how the gears in her brain are processing this tidbit so casually offered, <<you're a young man...I mean, obviously adult, but...grandfather is so much older! How could you save his life...? We're you even born for it?>>

She lowers her head for a moment, murmuring, <<I'm struggling with the English, and American kids...even the ones who are not yanki are a little yanki, ha! So rude!>> But then she looks up with a smile on her face, <<but it is a pretty house, a big house, and I am learning so much...thank you!>> Another bow is given.

<<I heard you are a very good fighter, do you wish to sparr sometime? Like randori? (sparring)>>

Logan Howlett has posed:
<<Whatever truth you're grandfather has got going for him, kid, he didn't inform me. All I know is that he decided it would be a great idea to toss you at me and see what happened. As it stands, you're not a pain in the ass, so as far as I'm concerned I'm fine with it, but whatever you want to learn, I don't know I can teach you.>>

Logan tells her -extremely- bluntly, though he eventually continues. <<I'm old, Yukio. I'm old enough to be your grandfather's great grandfather.>> Logan tells her then. <<Can't even remember when I was born, but I -do- remember a good deal.>> Logan trained with the -samurai-.

Logan returns her final bow.

<<Happy to hear they haven't decided to prank you until you go crazy yet. The people here are crazy and will probably drive ya nuts, but they're good people. If you want to spar sometime kid, I'd be happy to teach you a few things.>>

Yukio has posed:
Yukio looks a bit split on how much to share, and whether to share at all, but all she does is eventually murmur a weak sounding, <<I'm sorry I'm a burden to you because of a little argument that has nothing to do with you, Logan-san,>> again like clock-work a bow follows. She smirks as Logan suggests he can't teach her what she wants to learn, and uses the palm of her hand to cover her mouth as she giggles, <<you don't understand Logan-san, this isn't about what I want to learn, grandfather wants you to snap some sense is to me is probably what it's about. He think's you'll shake away silly ideas.>>

Yukio's eyes grow a bit wide at Logan's proclamation about how old he actually is, and she looks very confused. <<Logan-san is immortal?>> She asks curiously, before her eyes grow wider still, <<or a god!?>>

She is, however, soon distracted by the thought of sparring with someone her grandfather holds in such high regard, <<I would love to! Thank you!>> Yes, another bow.

<<...are you feeling annoyed my grandfather asked you to watch over me? Or would you like to get to know me? I would not be against getting to know you if you would like to share. You must be interesting man.>>
