Cast of Characters: Bette Kane, Carrie Kelley

Bette Kane has posed:
There is no better time in Gotham then night time. It is dark, there are criminals out. Which is the purpose of lurking on roof tops, chasing down those that have hurt others and should be made to pay for that fact.

That is what has brought the masked individual up onto the rooftops of the city, originally. But it seems like a mostly quiet night, and Bette is sitting on the edge of one roof staring down at the glowing screen of her cellphone.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
It certainly was a slow night in the vigilante department. The girl Robin, the one rarely seen, swings from roof to roof enjoying the ride and surge of adrenaline to help keep her awake. Every now and then you just needed a good spike to make sure you stay good and awake. It's during one swing she happens to notice the figure on a rooftop with a bit of curiosity.

Doubling back, she lands on the roof that Bette is on with a light crunch of rooftop gravel beneath her feet. The grapple line zips back into the gun she tucks onto her belt as she greets, "Slow night for all of us out here it seems. Hey."

Bette Kane has posed:
The figure is missed right up until the crunch of the gravel catches her attention, and when it does she leaps to her feet, the phone flinging free of her hand as she grabs for...nothing.

By the time her hand connects with something on her belt the words themselves reach her ears, in addition to that she actually /looks/ at the girl Robin. Which causes all kinds of confusion, thankfully that is mostly covered by the mask over Bette's face. "Hi..."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Robin offers a smile to the masked woman there as she holds up her green gloved hands to show they were empty. "I come in peace," she offers jokingly. At least she seems to have the Robin attitude down pat... though she was markedly older than most Robins, and her suit was not the basic one that most started out with. The redhead tips her head at Bette curiously looking her over a time or two trying to find some sense of recognition. How much had she missed out on while taking that hiatus? Eesh.

"Figured I'd come say hello. You looked a bit bored... I'm Robin. One of many," she has to add with a little theatrical sigh. "But the only girl at least."

Bette Kane has posed:
She's blonde. She's a girl. She's wearing a very snazzy red and gold outfit...one that doesn't have any kind of specific logo or symbol. Which might mean it is pretty hard to pin down not just who Bette is, but what her affiliation might be.

Except for the fact there is a very obvious relaxation at the Robin introduction, "Oh, right." Duh, Bette. She then moves to grab her phone from where she flung it, "Flamebird. It's really nice to meet you, Robin."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Robin strides forward to offer a gloved hand out toward the blonde in that snazzy suit. Her own was far more subdued, but it did follow the traditional Robin colorings. "Nice to meet you. I've been on a bit of a hiatus so I haven't been around much. And the boys are terrible at keeping me up to date on what's going on," she adds with a lopsided grin.

"Been in Gotham long? I mean, I assume you're on our side. Most don't bother sitting on rooftops in this city without a good reason and the criminals prefer to not be seen."

Bette Kane has posed:
The offered hand is taken and given a quick shake, the grip firm but not in the way of someone needing to prove they are the strong person. It comes across as professional, someone that has shaken a lot of hands maybe. "Oh...not...long?"

In counter-point to the sure, firm shake the words are a little more wishy-washy, more amused. "I've been on a bit of a hiatus myself, away for personal reasons. But yeah, the criminals. I hear they are afraid of heights."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Very. Also afraid of falling from them," Robin has to admit with a wry grin. Though that wasn't often she did that threat it did come in handy on occasion. Crossing her arms over her chest in more of a relaxed posture than shut off or defiant, she continues.

"Good to have more faces around at least. It's been quiet, but when things do crop up it's been rather... Interesting." The sudden recollection of people made of centipedes fills her mind earning a little shudder. That was just pure gross. "You work with any of the groups around?'

Bette Kane has posed:
"They should be a lot more careful at these great heights." Bette agrees with a laugh, the phone tucked away before she lets her eyes shift towards the edge that she was previously sitting on. And the reality of the fact she could actually have fallen herself because of her own carelessness.

"Quiet is good! But...interesting sounds rather dubious, if you ask me. Interesting...how?" Bette wonders, her attention shifting back to Robin before she shakes her head, "Nope, not me. You looking or recruiting?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Robin considers that question with a little shake of her head. "Keeping an eye out for a friend. There's a lot going on in Gotham right now, and some of us old cape types are branching off. Not me, but willing to lend a hand," she explains with arms unfolding in a wide shrug. "Ah. Don't worry about the interesting thing. I think it's taken care of... I hope. Some ninja types that are apparently actually ghosts made out of centipedes? It was really gross."

She follows to the ledge to look below at the rather daring drop that would indeed be dangerous if one weren't careful. "I just know I tend to be a bit more on the social side than my brothers when it comes to meeting new faces. Most of them jump the gun first rather than talk."

Bette Kane has posed:
"Branching off to what?" Bette wonders, taking a step back towards the ledge when Robin does, leaning out to look downwards to see if there's been anything interesting arrive. So far? Nothing. Quiet indeed. "Yeah, I imagine that reaction says quite a bit about you. Or them. Which side of things you fall on, social versus action."

It's said complete with hand gestures, then Bette drops her hands, "Ninja centipedes that are ghosts?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"I'm used to running with a larger crowd. Or used to be at least," Robin murmurs thoughtfully even as she scans the dark alleyways from this vantage point out of habit. It was indeed dead, at least for now. Looking back toward Flamebird she grins.

"Titans, Birds of Prey, things like that. Dissolved groups from awhile ago that are reforming or in the process of reforming. Stuff outside of just 'Batman and crew', basically." The question about the ninjas earns a crinkle to her nose. "Out of towners. Weird out of towners."

Bette Kane has posed:
"Oh! Yeah, those guys are gre..." Bette gushes, for an all of five seconds before she realizes just how BAD that might sound. Not very cool of her at all, in fact, and she clamps down on the urge to gush with a cough. "Oh, yeah. Coooool."

Smooth. Real smooth. No one could possibly have picked up on that. Nope.

"Sounds like weird out of towners. I can honestly say I've never seen that...But I did hear about statues coming to life at the Met." Bette offers, then adds, "Not that I was there."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Lots of weirdness all around. That's the life we live, though." Robin doesn't bother to repress the grin at the enthusiasm shown by Firebird when she mentions those particular group names. She winks toward the other girl with a knowing nod of apparent agreement. "Yeah. Good people." Glancing downward again she lets out a sigh.

"Hate to chat and split, but I've still got a patrol to finish. Though it looks to be a rather lame night either way." Her hand dips down to her belt to fish out a card which she offers over. "Here. My work number as it were. In case you need help with anything."

Bette Kane has posed:
"Yeah. Good people." Bette replies with a small amount of enthusiasm again, but this time she's keeping it pretty well under control. Mostly.

The offer of a card gets a laugh, but she takes it, "Wish I had one to give back, but...thanks." She gives it a wave, then tucks it into a pocket.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Robin lifts a hand to tip off a jaunty salute in response. "No biggie. We can work on communication later. Catch you around, Firebird!" With that she leans back allowing herself to fall off the edge of the rail--But by the time one looks, she's swinging away on a grapple line.
