Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Chas Chandler

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
It was a comfortable afternoon, post-Justice League meet-up where Phoebe made re-acquantence with the Princess of Themyscira, Diana (better known as Wonder Woman). Phoebe had covered over her work circle with a blue rug, and was sitting on the couch, wearing comfy jeans and a sweatshirt, open and showing a plain black T-shirt. A couple of shopping bags were still in the kitchen, along with a pound of butter that was softening in anticipation for Phoebe's secret recipie Lavender Honey cookies.

It is, all together, a quiet afternoon in apartment 3A of The Curio.

Chas Chandler has posed:
Beyond the door to the young woman's room and a pair of voices can be heard.

"What if I do it wrong? I've never had a sister before. What if she doesn't like me?" The speaker sounds like a young girl, her voice high an tinny, even with the traces of an RP accent underneath.

"You'll do fine, Pumpkin" the other speaker is unmistakeably Chas. "Having a sibling is a lot like having a friend only these friends can't ever leave or move or run away. No matter what. So just be yourself." There is a pause and then a series of rapid knocks, soft enough to be polite, comes from the oak door.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe blinks a moment, and she tilts her head as she hears voices. She hops off the couch, tucking the book behind a pillow, and comes to the door.

She opens it, and she gives a b right smile to the folks on the opposite side.

"Hey guys." she smiles, first to Chas, and then to Geraldine.

She gives a smile, and she holds out her hand as she draws a bit down to look Geraldine in the eye with a smile.

"Nice to meet you in person, Geraldine." she states gently. "I'm Phoebe, I'm your new big sister." she smiles to her, friendly and clearly a little bit nervous.

After all, the same argument had been posed to Chas in reverse: 'what if I do things wrong? I've never had a sibling before. What if she hates me?'

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine is dressed in dark grey leggings, a black skirt, and a white peasant blouse. She takes the offered hand. "Nice to meet you Phoebe. I'm Geraldine, but... you said that so you know that I guess." Her own trebulation seems to evaporate some at the polite greeting. "I'm... excited to have you as a sister. Daddy's told me a lot about you. He says you're one of the nicest people he's ever met. I thnk that's good." She nods.

"Renee wanted to go do some shopping so I figured that now was a good a time as any for the two of you to get some time together" Chas says with a smile, he's wearing a dull gold ribbed turtleneck and faded black jeans along with the ever present boots. "Only fair for sisters to see one another, right?" He gestures inside. "Are we interutping anything?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"No, no, had grabbed some things to make cookies and was looking over an update for my bike. Covered over some work after John came through and gave it his approval." Phoebe explains. This particular apartment is very heavily warded. It even *feels* safe.

"I try to be very nice; where I grew up a lot of people can be kind of mean. So I try to make up for it with being especially nice. I hear a LOT about you!" Phoebe gives a grin, and with a polite shake, Phoebe releases the hand, with a smile and a wink.

    "C'mon in."

The apartment is very clean; similar to how Phoebe kept The Loft while she was living there. There's not a lot of belongings in it, minus what's on the shelves and the old third-hand guitar in the corner. "Let's see, can I get anyone a drink? I have refillable water bottles with filtered tap water, cranberry juice, orange juice and--" she pauses, looking into her fridge. She pulls out a tripple-size energy drink.

"... pretty sure this belongs to Bart." she remarks quietly.

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine walks in before Chas, spurred on by her father. "Water is fine. For us both." He smiles at the oversized energy drink. "Guy sounds like a gym junkie with that big a bottle." There isn't a hint of judging in his tone, just casual observation.

Geraldine for her part listens and says, "I have a bike. It's back at home though. It's pink and teal and has white and pink streamers on the bars." Her innocence is an almost physical thing. Hard to believe the girl was raised by Chas and is niece to John Constantine.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"He's... a friend from my work in Gotham." Phoebe states to Chas. "He has an amazingly fast metabolism for his size."

Phoebe takes out a trio of water bottles, and she hands one to Geraldine, one to Chas, and keeps one for herself.

"Pink and teal and has white and pink streamers, huh? Sounds like the bike I had when I was your age, except mine was pink and yellow." she gives a grin, allowing Geraldine the thought of Phoebe folded up on a bike like that, as she motions to the livingroom area so everyone can sit down.

"My current bike is a motorcycle, it's black and gray." she seems to consider a moment "I don't have any streamers on it though, do you reckon that would make it go faster?" she asks.

Chas Chandler has posed:
Chas takes a seat on the couch, staying quiet so his daughters can converse. That was the whole point of this visit after all.

Geraldine seems to consider the question for a long time. "I...don't know. Motorcyles are powered with engines, so you have less control over how fast it goes with additional accessories." She taps her chin. "It's possible though. It would at least liven up the colors of the bike that's for sure. Black and grey are so... mundane." Nevermind that her own outfit today has those exact colors in it.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe's eyebrows rise up as she regards Geraldine, and she gives a soft scoff, loking to Chas, then back to Geraldine. "Well, you're definitely not wrong, on both counts. But flashy things tend to be stolen from back alleys. However --" she stats, thoughtfully. "If it's OK with Dad, maybe we can go for a ride in a bit. If you want to, I mean. Just a couple of times around the block, nothing so dangerous as hitting up the highways, going really really fast. Bike ONLY goes to eighty before it begins to rattle apart." Phoebe gives a slight grin. "But you're right. Tassels would make it harder to control at high speeds, too."

Chas Chandler has posed:
"Oh, really? Can I, Daddy? Can I go with her on her motorcycle?" the girl turns to look at Chas with wide blue eyes.

Chas looks only mildly apprehensive at the thought of Geraldine on a motorcycle (a testatment to his years of emotional control.) "You have a second helmet that will fit her?" he asks Phoebe, looking to the young woman and then back at Geraldine. "Gotta wear a helmet. It's the law and..."

"We don't break the law" Geraldine says, finishing the statement as if by rote.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe is having a REALLY hard time about not breaking the law. Mostly because the Gotham Police DO have her rapsheet consisting of unlawful entry to a restricted area, fighting -- nevermind the vigilantism, traveling to other countries without a passport -- motorcycle covered under someone else's insurance (most likely Tim Drake's), nevermind the shenanigans that come up when John is about. Her eyes go wide and she purses her lips together and does her best to just not snort in effort to remain Good Big Sister.

Which she sucseeds... mostly... but she smiles, and reaches behind the couch to pull up a box!

On he box is a motorcycle helmet! that's most likely what's in the box as well, but it's black with pink highlights, and safety supports.

"So, I guessed the size, there's a little wiggle room." Meaning she abused privilages with the Outsiders computer to scan a picture and get a size.

"This one's got a bluetooth speaker in it, so y ou'll be able to talk to me if you get nervous. And I can talk to you, just in case. Mine's got a couple other bells and whistles on it, since my best friend's a bit of a tech nerd." she smiles.

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine beams at Phoebe at the sight of the helmet. "Oh my God, it's incredible!" she says, rushing forward to wrap her arms around her new sister. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she says, squeezing as tightly as her little arms will allow.

Chas chuckles. "I guess that settles it then. Can't say no when she's that excited. Just make sure you're both careful." He gives Phoebe a look. "It's not you I don't trust, it's other people out there. City driving is more than a little crazy." He would know having been a cabbie most of his adult life. London, or New York, people on the road are insane.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Dad, I learned to drive in /Gotham/. Half the time there's a high speed chase through a residential." Phoebe states nonchalantly as if it made everything one hundred percent better, but what really makes things better is Phoebe is being hugged, and she's not freaking out.

She, instead, wraps her arms around Geraldine, and gives the sprout a hug.

"So, rule number one: When you're on the bike, you have to listen to what I say. If I say lean left, we lean left. If I say lean right? Lean right. It's my job when I'm driving to make sure you're safe. Otherwise both your dad and John will be very, very mad at me."

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine is opening the box and removing the helmet. Its boxed setting is a little big for her and Chas moves in to fix it snuggly on the girl's head. "I hear you, just... some things a Dad has to say. Regardless of any bit of logic or factual evidence to the contrary." He taps the top of the helmet. "Looks like you're good to go, Pumpkin."

Geraldine turns to look at Phoebe. "Got it. Lean right or lean left when you say to and... hold on to your waist, right? That's what the back rider does in the movies and telly shows."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"That's right. You have to hold on with your arms around my waist, and to the saddle with your legs a bit. So." Phoebe double-checks the helmet. "IF you're ready, and IF Dad's not going to worry too much, we could make a couple of loops around the block, and then come back and make cookies, I suppose." she considers a moment.

Chas Chandler has posed:
Chas looks at his daughters and sighs. "I'm sure you'll be fine." He pauses and then smiles proudly. "As long as you don't mind, I going to be next door. There's a few supply lists that I have to look over before they go out. If you need me, you know how to get me." He touches at somehting under his shirt. "Or..." he pulls out his cellphone from his back pocket. "Either works just as well."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"... you're leaving me unsupervised with my younger sister? Well. This just calls for shenanigans. What do you say, squeaker?" Phoebe gives a grin. "I know a great ice cream place, we could take a ride over and have a cone, and then ride back. That should give Dad time enough to get the orders in in your undoubtably expert opinion, shouldn't it?"

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine beams at Phoebe and nods. "I think that will do just fine" she says conspiratorily, despite Chas being only a few feet away.

Chas for his part pushes himself to his feet. "Have fun you two..." He reaches into his other back pocket, produces a wallet and hands Geraldine a twenty dollar bill. "Don't go too crazy, okay?" He looks at Phoebe. "You need anything? I have some extra. Tips were good this week."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I'm good, got my own apartment and everything." Phoebe gives a smile, and then turns to Geraldine.

"So you're driving, right?" she jokes as she goes to grab her biking jacket.

she drops her own sapphire pendant on the inside of her shirt to secure it, right next to her silver locket from John.

    "Ready to go, Squeaks?"

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine laughs at Phoebe's comment of driving and then nods. "Let's go!" she says with a grin.

Chas nods to Phoebe and sees himself out. "Again. Be careful. Love you both."

"Bye Daddy!" Geraldine offers to her father before exhuberantly following along with Phoebe.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I'm sure things will be fine." Phoebe gives a grin, taking off her sweatshirt and shrugging into her jacket, and grabbing her own helmet. From there, quick walk down the stairs and out the back door of the curio to where Phoebe parks her bike.

True, it's black and gray, matte, intent on keeping hidden rather than standing out. Phoebe affixes a clamp-on seat back to the cafe racer's seat.

The teen straddles the bike then, bringing up the stand, and kick-starts it with a roar and a rumble, and then offers a hand to Geraldine up.

Chas Chandler has posed:
Geraldine covers her ears briefly as the bike roars to life. Then with slow tentative motions she lowers her ears. "It's not as loud as I imagined" she says over the microphone in her helmet. She settles herself a bit after taking Phoebe's hand and smooths her skirt a little (for all the good it will do) before placing a hand on either side of Phoebe's waist. "Okay. I think... I think I'm ready. Just... don't go to fast to start?" The slight hitch of innocence in her tone makes it clear why John Constantine would do nearly anything for this little girl, she's infectious in her gentle, undamaged nature.
