FEED ME SEY---CLARICE
Date of Scene: 17 November 2021
Location: Clarice Ferguson's Quarters
Synopsis: Lydia returns to the asteroid hungry, after fighting vampires with the Heliopolitans.
Cast of Characters: Lydia Dietrich, Clarice Ferguson, Raven Darkholme

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia staggers out of the building where she and the rest of the Heliopolitans were ambushed by vampires. She had used a lot of blood during the fight, and the presence of so much blood at the crime scene has overpowering. If it was just one of the two, she'd be able to manage, but both of them together was just disaster waiting to happen should she have stayed near anybody living.

She manages to get out her phone and send the emergency feed me message to Clarice: Vampire emoji, blood emoji. Direct and simple.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
It's been a challenging day for Clarice - staying near Theo and Pete to keep an eye on them. At the moment, though, she was taking a moment at her desk - not to do her work, no. She was trying to find her next target - her expression grim-faced as she struggles through internet searches, letting a text-reader chatter into earbud to help her with her search.
As her phone buzzes, she picks it up to glance at it - letting out a quiet, "Shit," when she sees the message. Doctor Hathaway is an easily accessible number - and she places a hurried call to the woman, as she uses her computer to ping Lydia's location. "Doc - Lydia's hungry. Can you contact a donor and get their location to me? Thanks." She barely waits for a reply before she hangs up, opening a portal near Lydia's location for the woman to step through.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique was doing some late night reading, not a book or magazine, but reports, there are always reports to be read. Working with China still, there were also a lot of reports on how they were doing and what they might still need. Her phone goes off which has her on her feet, and no idea where Lydia is, but she heads out the door all the same. It's only a moment before H & D report Lydia's location to her, so her direction changes to head for Clarice's room.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia stumbles through the portal as quickly as she can, the smell of blood still clinging to her nose. "Stay back..." are the first words she says to Clarice. When she looks at her the irises of her eyes have turned blood red and it's clear her fangs are all the way out.

It's clear she's struggling with her hunger as she tears her gaze away from that tantalizing artery that she can all but /see/ in Clarice's neck. She turns her back to her friend and sister and breathes deep the clean, sterilized air to get the smell of blood from her nose.

The smell of the Guinea pigs is the most prominent one. They're not food so it's good to help clear out the majority of it. Still there's the smell of food here... people, she reminds herself, but it's not as overpowering as the blood once held.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"You're okay, Lydia," Clarice says soothingly - moving around her friend to stand between her - and the boys' room. "I can take us both to the Medbay," she offers - keeping her voice calm, and taking slow, deep breaths in a deliberate effort to close her heart rate. She's pretty sure that if it really gets going, that'll only make things worse for Lydia. At a sound from her phone, she glances down, then back to her friend to add, "The doc says room D's cleared and waiting for us. You ready?" she asks - waiting for an indication from Lydia, before she'll open another portal centered between them - for Lydia to stop through.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Clarice's room was closer than medbay, and since that's where Lydia is, that's where Mystique goes. The two guards that wander the halls are given a hand gesture and pointed at Clarice's room. "Ten minutes," is all she says to the guards then she slips into the room with the hungry lover and magenta mutant. What no one sees is the two guards position themselves outside Clarice's room, facing the door, ready for something to come out of it that shouldn't.

The state of Lydia's clothing and hair is not particularly a welcome sight for Mystique, but she knows that Lydia has other things she does, other people she helps... doesn't mean she likes it. "Busy night?" She asks calmly, as she looks Lydia over, then merely extends her arm. She doesn't say anything regarding the offer, but given the state that Lydia is in, she's aware it's going to take more than one or two donors to get the blood she needs back up to safe levels.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
"You should see the other guys," Lydia breathes, nodding, keeping herself under control. When Mystique comes in her red eyes swivel to her and several emotions play out on her face. Relief, caution, embarrassment, and /hunger/ all flash in rapid succession.

When the arm is offered, she sinks to her knees before it and takes it in her mouth. She isn't gentle at first, her thirst driving her more than anything else. She drinks deep and long and the desire to just keep going is strong.

Almost too strong.

"ENOUGH!" she yells at herself. It takes all of her will to stop, to tear herself away before she takes more than what Raven can stand to lose, and she scrambles backwards until her back hits the wall with a *thunk*.

"I'm sorry," she says, looking up at her lover apologetically. "I'm sorry. I... I've never been so hungry. Still hungry but... in control now."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
One hand, held behind Clarice's back, now holds one of her javelins as she watches Lydia feed - a carefully impassive expression on her features. She's not a medical expert by any means, but she closely watches Mystique for signs of weakness or palor, moving in towards the woman even as Lydia backs away, ready to catch her or offer an arm if it becomes necessarily. "Alright. Let's get you both to Medbay - we'll have the doc make sure your blood volume's at a healthy level," she tells Mystique - and a hint of steel in her voice communicates that she isn't //asking// here. This is one of those rare occassions where she's //telling// her boss how it's going to be, as her second.
The javelin disappears from her hand before she opens her portal, ready to take them both through.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique was expecting exactly what happened to happen, that's why she chose to be first. She didn't want someone else to go through that. If there is any weakness to her as a result, she doesn't show it, she stays on her feet watching Lydia. The pain, the hunger, all of it just accepted.

"It's alright Lydia," she offers calmly, her attention on Lydia and not Clarice. If Clarice wants to cross another line and piss the cobalt mutant off, she could. "You got it under control for the most part, no harm done. We'll go to the med bay now, get you taken care of."

Now she looks at Clarice, one look, one glare. She would decide for herself if she needed medical attention or not. She insisted that everyone get checked for wounds and other such things, and she herself went to med bay to be checked after missions, but she was not having Clarice think she could order her around. Erik was the only person who could tell her what to do.

"Once Lydia is more herself," she says calmly, but her yellow eyes flash with the anger she's covering. "I'll speak to Hathaway." She also won't go into how talking about this in front of Lydia, right now, does not help the situation at all, or how Clarice and she would be having a meeting later.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
The flash of purple that disappears from behind Clarice doesn't go unnoticed by Lydia, and she flashes her a grateful smile. She stays seated for a few moments, collecting herself, before rising gracefully to her feet.

"It was vampires," she explains, as she steps through Clarice's portal into the waiting room beyond. "Six of them ambushed us. It was quite the fight but fortunately nobody on our end got seriously injured."

She nods to Dr. Hathaway upon entering. Her eyes are still red and her fangs are still out, and she's still hungry, but now she's not in danger of eating anybody who doesn't want to be ate. "Who have we got waiting for me?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Clarice's gaze meets Mystique's unflinchingly, only pulling away as she watches Lydia step through the portal. She gestures for Mystique to proceed her, and then follows through last, closing the portal behind them. "Not the friendly kind, I take it," she remarks in a wry tone. "Did any of them survive the experience?" she asks, taking up position at the edge of the room, watching her two friends.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique follows through the portal to the room, glancing to Hathaway as she does and offering a nod before she looks back to Lydia, "Eddie's up if I'm not mistaken." She comments then moves slowly over to lean against the wall but not by Clarice.

Hathaway seems her usual calm self, everything in order and when Lydia appears she offers the woman a smile. "Indeed it is Eddie, and he's right outside. I didn't think you needed a major audience for your arrival, just in case, so I'll get him." Her eyes study Mystique for a moment, reading the body language and seeing the sluggishness. She's a doctor, she has a clue, but she already knows how Mystique works. Lydia first, then she'll deal with the cobalt mutant.

Stepping over to the door, Hathaway opens it and waves Eddie in.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
"None," Lydia tells Clarice. "It was a clean sweep. We've got one of their bodies so we can examine it for clues." She makes her way over to the examination table and sits down on it. "Thank you," she tells Hathaway and waits for Eddie to come in.

When Eddie arrives she gives him a smile and a nod, and holds out a hand for his. He gives her a nod back, rolls up his sleeve and presents his arm to her, which she takes into her mouth.

This feeding is much gentler than what she did with Mystique. She makes sure it's pleasant for him, and this time she gets to enjoy it a bit herself, now that the edge had been taken off by her time with Mystique.

When they're done she licks the wounds clean and looks up to the man and gives him a grateful smile. "Thank you, Eddie," she says.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Good. If they're a danger to others then - well," the world's better off without them. That said, though, Clarice falls silent, leaning back against a cabinet and watching, her expression remaining a calm and controlled mask. Part of her attention remains on Mystique, still concerned about how much Lydia may have taken - the other part is on Lydia, watching her for any signs of ill-affects after the fight. After all, she was still so new to her powers - and there were always risks when anyone was learning new gifts.
As Lydia finishes feeding off of Eddie, her gaze flicks to the chef as she adds, "Thanks again for making the mac 'n cheese, Eddie." She'd been trying for comfort food for the boys - given everything going on. And even if Theo hadn't eaten much - well. It'd been worth the effort, she thought.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Hathaway remains back by the door, not inserting herself into the situation any more than needed. Once Lydia is finished and Eddie steps back, she lays her hand on his arm to check his vitals and nods. "How you feeling Lydia?" She then asks, making sure the woman is fully in control or finding out if she needed another person. This was the hard part for Hathaway, she really wanted to scream 'Stop it!' but Lydia was a patient like any other.

Eddie offers Clarice a smile, "Hey, that's my mom's recipe, so I'll make it any day of the week. Next time, I'll add bacon, no one can say no to bacon," he glances to Lydia. "Well, most people can't say no... no offense of Jewish Princess." His smile is broad, indicating playfulness, even as he makes his way to the door. "Rotate me back in on the list, that was /soo/ worth it."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique smirks slightly over Eddie's reaction, she got it, that sensation was worth it alright. She wouldn't mention anything else, the donors needed to never know about the other side to it.

Now she looks to Lydia, also curious if she needed more blood. She didn't fully know how it worked, but she was pretty sure that two wasn't enough with Lydia staying in the 'safe amount taken' zone.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
"I'm good," Lydia tells Hathaway. "That did the trick. I'm sorry to put you all through this," she says, looking truly apologetic. "I'm just glad I've got you all to help. I don't know what I would have done if I were there and didn't have a ready source of blood." Lydia winces, remembering that Jubilation was in just as dire straights as she was, and /doesn't/ have the kind of support network that she does.

"It's okay Eddie," she tells him with a grin. "I'm used to people flaunting their bacon eating skills around me. Though one day I may give in and give it a try since I'm technically not kosher anymore."

She slips off the table and comes up to Mystique to give her a kiss on the lips. "I'm sorry that I hurt you," she says. "I'd never been that hungry before and it was hard to control..."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Clarice nods to Eddie. "I'm sure the boys wouldn't turn up their nose at bacon. I mean - what growing boy would?" She flashes the man a smile - before her attention returns to Lydia once more.
"We've got your back, Lydia. Always. It's what family does," she answers easily - giving the woman a reassuring smile. Her gaze flicks back in the direction of her quarters, however. There was a part of her uneasy about straying even this far from Theo, right now - but she also wanted to make sure Mystique really was alright. And it's hard to follow up on ultimatums if you blink out at the first opportunity.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique wraps her arms around Lydia and kisses her lightly before resting her forehead against her lovers head, "It's alright love," she sooths softly. "Why do you think I choose to go first? I'll have Hathaway check me over, I'll eat lots of protein, it'll be fine. Stop worrying."

She glances over to Clarice as she says, "Just go. Theo needs you more than I do, and I'm more than capable of taking care of myself." Again she doesn't add the part where she wants to punch Clarice in the nose right now, as that is just her own baggage to deal with. "But we'll be having a meeting, you and I, in the next few days."

Now her attention goes back to Lydia. "You sure that's enough? There are others on the list who could come."

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia lays her hands on the flat of Mystique's chest as she leans forward into her. "I'm going to worry anyway," she tells her. "I don't want to hurt you, ever."

She notices Clarice getting antsy to get back to her cabin. The last time she saw this in her was back when Rahne had landed herself in the hospital. "Go back to the boys," she tells her. "I'll be fine. You can tell me what's going on with them later. I'll also need to fill you two in on what went down."

"For now, let's have Hathaway make sure I didn't take too much from you," she tells Mystique, "And then we can do all sorts of cuddling in bed until you fall asleep."
