Date of Scene: 18 November 2021
Location: Teacher's Lounge - Happy Harbor High School
Synopsis: And a new friend is made
Cast of Characters: Albert Rothstein, Roland Livingston

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein is here on his break, not having a class this session. He has walked over to the vending machines looking them over while pulling out a few dollars. The big man has squatted down a bit to look into the machine a bit better, something the huge man is used to.

Roland Livingston has posed:
It's time to do some grading. Rather than do it by himself, Roland has decided to head to the teacher's lounge to try to knock it out there. With a laptop bag slung over his shoulder he enters the room and starts making his way towards one of the tables to spread his stuff out. While passing the vending machines he sees the large fellow and gives him a polite greeting, an upper class English accent coming through strongly, "Good morning. How are you today?"

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein looks over and says "It is going, pretty good, actually had all the tools put up by the kids at the end of first period in the right places even." He chuckles and puts some money in grabbing a soda, and a couple snacks "You want anything while I am getting things?"

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Would you grab me a Gatorade, please?" Roland asks politely as he starts unloading papers and laptop so that he can start the grading process. "It's good hear that the students are taking care of their equipment. Hard to instill that into people when they don't actually own the tools they're working with." There's a faint chuckle as he opens up his computer, "It's difficult keeping a regular classroom organized. I could hardly imagine working with kids in a shop."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods a bit and will bring his stuff over and has a seat not to far from Roland offering the man his Gatorade. "It aint to bad, usually end up with one or two kids who go in a bit after the others, cause they really want to learn the stuff but aint able to get the tools themselves, but today they were all in pretty good shape, think it might be wanting to get good grades on their wooden turkeys."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Thank you," Roland says as he accepts his drink, swiftly unscrewing the cap and taking a drink. "Wooden turkeys? Sounds like an interesting project. Has it got to do with the Thanksgiving holiday coming up?" A paper is picked up and glanced at before the young man returns his attention to his colleague, "I've yet to celebrate Thanksgiving, myself. I look forward to trying one of those holiday feasts this year. Celebrate American Independence from my countrymen and whatnot." Definitely got an English accent.

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods his head a bit and says "A center piece, that can be used as either a place for a table display or silverware and such holder. Have a removeable tail section to change out for what they want to use it as. That and I let them be a bit more free with their turkey designs." He admits. You got someoen to eat with?"

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Quite good! That sounds like a useful piece to have at the table," Roland enthuses with a grin. "I have yet to find someone to invite me for dinner, but I imagine I'll figure something out or I'll grab some people off the street and take them to a restaurant." He shrugs, "Or I could host a party and invite those with nowhere to go, I suppose. Have to find a caterer last minute, but it could be done. My penthouse hasn't seen a party in some time."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein smiles and nods a bit to this and says "I am thinking about hitting one of the shelters helping out with serving and then finding a place for a late dinner myself. Figure by late evening half the dinners will have plenty of Thanks giving plates and left over platters for sell by then." He smirks a bit

Roland Livingston has posed:
Smiling, Roland nods his head, "That sounds like a good plan. Perhaps I could look into helping out at a shelter or something, myself. Hadn't crossed my mind." He pauses, "Then throw the party at my place afterwards. If I do have some people over would you like to attend? If I arrange things properly there will be quite a lot of food and drink."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein smirks a bit and says "I would not turn it down, but sure having the giant shop teacher at your party won't scare to many of your friends?" He jokes a bit and breaks open his bag of chips to munch some.

Roland Livingston has posed:
The joke gets laughter out of Roland who leans back in his seat and replies, "You're welcome to terrify whoever you like at any of my get togethers. Some of the folks who try to hang around with me could use a bit of a reality check. I don't even know all the people who attend my parties. The other day I had a number of fraternity members show up when I had a little soiree on my boat. Of course, some sort of terrorists chose that moment to try invading the city or something. There was a large pig man, a rhino man and Aqua Man all there fighting them. Quite exciting. I even stopped a few myself, but I sent the party back to the marina before I got involved. Didn't need a guest taking a stray round or anything."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods his head a bit to this and says "I can imagine, I remember my grandpa talking about their Thanksgiving days, often ended up with a big villian fight and then all the guys getting together for a late dinner, sometimes just sandwiches and such, but always a good night at the end of the night."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Sounds like one hell of a good time," Roland replies with a nod. "I wouldn't say no to a good brawl before dinner to celebrate the holidays. I'm partial to a good stew after a fight, one with lots of meat and potatoes in it, ideally." His chin lifts, "Do you do much of the hero business? I try to involve myself when I see villainy afoot, but I'm not the cape and mask sort who goes out looking for trouble. The trouble I look for tends to be monsters that need slaying or magical artifacts I need to retrieve from the wrong hands."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods, and says "I try to help out, it runs in the family, you may have heard of one of my grandfathers." He tells the other man "Sir Justin, the shining Knight." He names the hero, he figures the British sounding guy might know of better than his other grandfather. "He had a bit od the whole magical bag guys and dragons on occasion. I got to hear some of the stories when I was a kid.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"My family had records on him!" Roland exclaims happily. "He beat us to a few sorcerers and whatnot that were on our hit list. By that I mean my family used to do the evil hunting and artifact collecting, too, going back to the time of the Crusades." He lets out a sigh, "I've investigate dragon attacks but I've yet to kill any myself. I think it would be quite a good challenge. My arsenal's quite a bit expanded from the swords and bows traditionally used by Livingstons, but I wonder if the old ways might work better sometimes."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein shrugs a bit and says I never learned much about sword fighting, I am a bit more hand to hand, but then when you can be the size of the dragon, I guess hand to hand is a bit more of a option to go towards.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"I'm quite talented in unarmed combat, too, but I doubt I could punch a dragon to death," Roland laughs. "You, on the other hand, may have a better shot at doing that." His shoulders shrug before he takes another drink from his bottle of Gatorade, "It's tough to know for sure how powerful mystical beasts are until you're in the thick of it. There's plenty of creatures out there that are more powerful than their size would make it seem."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods his head a bit to this and says "I don't go looking for dragons or what not more often I am the type who hears about a problem, and will head to handle it then." He admits. He sips his drink and says "If you ever need someone to work out with let me know, I can give you a hand with it.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"That's very kind of you to offer, I appreciate it," says Roland. "Have you got a good gym you go to? The one I attend is well equipped. Lots of free weights, which I like, and all of the cardio machines. Then I do some running, too, often practicing bouncing from rooftop to rooftop. It's a good way to get around, in addition to being good exercise. Generally I prefer the Bentley or the Ducati for getting from point a to point b, however."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein shakes his head a bit and says "I generally work out at home most of the time, or if not hit a place in Gotham. Grant's Gym, but to be honest most of the time, my training is more weights and boxing mostly." He admits.

Roland Livingston has posed:
:nods his head, "Weight training is very important, and any sort of martial art, especially one that involves a lot of sparring, is great exercise. Really gets the heart going." There's a soft chuckle, "I keep meaning to sign up for martial arts courses so I can keep training, but I'm very picky about where I train. There's some HEMA type places in town, which are great."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods, and says "Grant's is where the family has trained over the years, and has been where I got for that, but to be honest, don't get in as much boxing training these days as folks don't want to have to go up against the reach when they realize I aint just a slow mountain."

Roland Livingston has posed:
Nodding his head a few times, Roland says, "I can see that. I've got pretty good reflexes, however. You might find me an adequate sparring partner." There's a bit of a smirk on his face at that. "And I'm quite well versed in a number of combat systems, so I should be able to surprise you from time to time." There's a nod, "We'll have to meet at Grant's some time and practice a bit."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods and says "Sounds like a plan, we will have to set something up, what you up to this weekend?" He will ask pulling out his phone.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"I'm not certain, to be honest," says Roland. "Lets try to figure out a good time to meet up, though, and I'll let you know if something comes up." He pulls out his own phone, the better to coordinate with.

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods and will give the other man his number and says "There send me a message and we will have one another in the loop, can text to let the other know if we are eading to work out, or if ya need some help or vice versa.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Excellent, excellent," Roland tells the big guy with a grin. He texts the words 'This is Roland' to his colleague and then says, "There you go. When you head to Grants let me know, if I'm in the mood to spar I'll give you a heads up. And if you need backup on one of your adventures you know who to get in touch with." He pauses for a second, looking thoughtful, "I'll definitely be sure to keep your number. Got a few enemies out there and I think you'd make for a vicious surprise for them."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods and tests back with the name Albert." to let the other man set up the contact a bit easier "Well, I will be glad to help out, would hate for the kids to have to break in another teacher."

Roland Livingston has posed:
Roland lets out a laugh, "Yeah. They're already getting used to me, it seems. Most of them are even interested in learning magical history and theory, which pleases me to no end. I don't feel good about hording knowledge like that. It'd be like if Isaac Newton kept gravity's secrets from people. Most people won't use magic in their lives, but it can't hurt to be knowledgeable about it."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods his head a bit to this and says "Yea, I can sorta see that, usually when they see something cool, they want to learn more about it, is why always part my car where they can see it. Draws in the gear heads more.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"I don't do any spellcasting myself, but I've got an absurd level of knowledge about the mystical side of the world," Roland chuckles. "Magic is more visible now than at any point in history, probably. I can think of a number of superheroes who use magic to combat evil." Then he lifts his chin, "What sort of vehicle have you got? I typically ride my bike, but if the weather is bad I've got an SUV I drive."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein smiles and says "1970 Mercury Cougar, fully restored, and tuned to get the most I can get out of it." He tells the other man. I have not ran with many magic types but have heard a few stories.

Roland Livingston has posed:
Roland lets out a low whistle, "Sounds like one hell of a ride. I appreciate the classics, but mine were all lost when my ancestral home was destroyed. Now that I live in the States I might need to work on collecting some proper American muscle."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein looks over and says "Well if you find something and ya need it fixed up let me know, I did all the work on mine myself.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Superb," Roland chuckles. "You're a very useful guy to know. How are you behind the wheel? I'm a fair driver myself, let my reflexes do a lot of it for me, but I've got a couple of vehicles that you might want to take for a spin. If you're into modern stuff as well as the classics."
