Tracking the Cops
Date of Scene: 18 November 2021
Location: Forest Hills Apartments
Synopsis: Gwen and Bando drop in and interrupt a deal with crooked cops in the quest to uncover details about the shooting of Captain Stacy.
Cast of Characters: Bando George, Gwen Stacy

Bando George has posed:
Saturday has come, and the cops are on the move. They are not in squad cars, though. They are in their personal vehicles. They are heading for a currently closed gas station. No tall buildings in this area, just a series of houses. Not many stores even around here, it's very residential. And as it happens, It's Bando's neighborhood.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Saturday at last. Suffice to say that Gwen's mind had been on this coming day rather than any other of her responsibilities. Like you know, school. Or even superheroing. Distracted, absent. This was a mystery she had to uncover. For her father's sake and for hers too.

She had also been busy fashioning trackers to use on their cars. Trackers she had strategically positioned on the cops's cars so as to follow them. And imagining they wouldn't use their official squad cars she had done so on their private ones.

As they are converging on that closed gas station she speaks out through comms. "Ghost Spider here." she says to Bando, "Do you have eyes on them already?"

She was dressed as Ghost Spider this time as this wasn't exactly a job for Gwen, but more for her alter-ego. Who knows what dangers they'd find? She lands on one of the houses in the neighborhood.

Bando George has posed:
"Uh," Bando holds the comm as he talks. It makes him feel cooler. "Not yet," he admits, wearing his simple brown jacket, a sweatshirt, and blue jeans. Not hero wear. But then, it makes him look less suspicious. He yawns, audible over the comm. "Oh wait, I see them now," he suddenly says. The three cars pulling into the gas station parking lot. "No sign of the van, though," he adds.

"Unit 3157, investigating report of suspicious activity at the old gas station in Forest Hills." comes Jericho's declaration over the police band. Nothing too remarkable, but that is where the three have stopped.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Seems like they are disguising this as some kind of police op." A small frown coming to Ghost Spider's expression while she moves closer, hands and feet on the rooftop while she moves, eerily close to an actual spider. Genetics!

"This is your neighborhood, isn't it?" She asks, moving over to the next building and jumping over to get a better angle to look down upon the gas station. Of course that with the low height of those buildings it means she isn't as hidden as she'd like.

"And don't fall asleep!" Yes, she heard the yawn.

Bando George has posed:
"I'm not!" Bando defends himself, but doesn't take the conversation farther. "Yeah, I live like two blocks from here," he says. "This old gas station has been empty since I moved here," he comments. "I see people here sometimes, some kids come and smoke pot behind it a lot. Other than that, I don't know if anything else happens. Are you here?" he asks, having not looked up himself.

From the other side of the building, a familiar van pulls in, shutting off their lights long before they come to a stop, and the three cops get out of their respective vehicles, one of them carrying a duffle bag.

"Oh oh! I think the other guy is here," he says. "Do we get them now?" Bando asks, crouching...in the middle of the sidewalk. He isn't very well hidden at all. He runs back from his position to a driveway, hiding behind a sedan.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"When dealing with spiders always look up." Words of wisdom! And it's pretty much a good hint on where she is at right now. At one of the rooftops of the surroundings buildings. Yet she looks from afar, bringing out a pair of binoculars to take a look at the approaching van. "Here are our old friends..." she murmurs.

Another jump and she gets closer, but she is getting less and less buildings on where to perch at now that she is closer to the old gas station. "We need to get closer so we can hear them.." she tells Bando. "And no, we need to figure out what's going on here before we stop them. That's how we clear the charges on my father."

Which was the important thing for her now.

"And what the ..., that's not a good hiding place. But .., if you can teleport us over to the back of the station it will be good." she suggests, swinging over to join Bando near the sedan.

Bando George has posed:
"Or right in front of you," Bando says. "I feel like every hike I go on I get a web straight in the face." Off topic. He jumps a little as she arrives. "Oh, hi," he laughs awkwardly. "Nice of you to drop in." Maybe he'd make a good Spider after all, he has the cheesy quips!

"I /can/ teleport us," he says. "But...I'm not sure what would happen to you. You've seen how weird things happen sometimes when I teleport stuff. I'd never forgive myself if you like turned inside out or something. I did a cat once and it never got its legs back. I still get sick thinking about it sometimes. That lady still has never forgiven me. I was just getting it out of the tree for her!" Off topic again.

In the dim light, the view of the four is clear, and they don't seem to be too intent on looking around them at the moment. After all, it's after dark in a neighborhood, there isn't a lot of activity to be had here. "If I get a little closer, I could probably get on top of the gas station," he suggests. "But I don't think I can teleport that far from here."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Yes, on second thought ..., I like my legs just the way they are, thank you very much." Gwen replies, letting out a brief sigh and her hands moving to her hips while she considers avenues of approach. "They seem focused on their deal so lets go. Keep your head down and don't make a sound.." and then off she goes, lithe and supple as a spidery does, Gwen sliding from behind that sedan to begin her approach.

And while she hasn't exactly had any 'ninja' training some things just come naturally, like skulking and ambushing, much like how spiders do! Even if the suit being white doesn't help .., but that's just details.

*thwip*

A web lodges up on the side of the gas station and she pulls herself over and up, lodging herself by the shadows near the wall so as to better hear what's going on.

Bando George has posed:
Bando doesn't have anything particularly stealthy on, just regular street clothes. He should have probably considered that. He runs out the other side of the sedan, staying crouched to keep the car between him and the sight of the men dealing in...whatever it is. Pretty soon he's in range and *fwump* he disappears, reappearing on the roof. He crouches in a three point landing. Even though... he really just in the same position to start. You have to have a three point landing, you know. So there he is in his pose when Gwen makes it to the top of the gas station. The goofy proud smile on his face kinda kills any supercool vibe he might have had, though. He makes sure Gwen can see how cool his pose is before creeps toward the edge of the gas station.

"Then count it," Jenkins, the quartermaster, tells the guy. "But show the tech first," he adds.

The same tattoo'd man from before nods, "Aight, he goes back to his van, and pulls the sliding door open, pulling out a circular device attached to a harness of some sort. "One, two," he says, pulling a second, then third and fourth from the van into his hand. "Three four."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Did you just do a three point landing?" Ghost Spider whispers up to Bando when she notes his posture, along with the goofy smile. She chuckles briefly under the mask, "You are not Black Widow.." she points out, creepily 'walking' along the wall with hands and feet, all the way up to the roof and then to the edge of the gas station. Her head pokes out and she peers down at the meeting going on between them.

And ooooh, right in the middle of a transaction! Which means it's time for some photos. And courtesy of Spider-man's tech she starts doing so through the HUD of her mask. Nifty thing, really.

"Lets get some sound rolling too." And she does just so. Now that she has her suit it means no more having to get her smartphone to serve as a spy gadget!

Those devices make her frown. She doesn't recognize them right away, "Mmmm, wonder what they are up to with those.." a beat, "Some kind of powering device? Those guys that attacked my father had some kind of stealth powers, didn't they?"

Bando George has posed:
"Yeah," Bando says, "They were wearin' stuff like that," he says. "They like, just were gone."

The tattoo'd man takes the bag, and offers the collection of harnesses over to Jericho.

"Okay," Jericho's deep voice says, "Count it and we'll be done.

The tattoo'd man bends over, from above a pistol can be seen tucked in the seat of his pants as he opens the duffle bag. It's not packed full, there's space left in it, but there's clearly several thousand dollars that have been taken from the confiscated money.

"What do they normally do with that kind of money?" Bando asks quietly.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Suspicious. Gwen narrows her eyes under her mask, taking a better look at the devices. "So these cops are wanting to get some devices that make them invisible. For crime-fighting? Sounds like a stretch..." she isn't really convinced about all this. Yet where does this put her father? Would he be wanting these to help fighting crime in the city? A shudder runs through her body. She still remembers what brought her friend Peter to start his experiments that eventually led to him turning into the lizard. He wanted to be a superhero, like she was. Wanting to keep up.

It's striking too close to home.

"Confiscated money? Depends, some is distributed to the PDs involved in the bust, or used to reabilitate certain areas of the city. At least in theory. But as my father says it normally just stays waiting for a decision on how to be used for years in a row." she quietly replies to Bando.

Bando George has posed:
"So," Bando muses. "It'd be like, years before anyone even knew that there was something off. If ever?" he asks. "That's really smart," he admits. "Not that I'm approving!" He is whispering, but...it's still a loud whisper.

"Right," the tattoo'd man nods, opening the bag. He checks the packaged bills to make sure that there's no funny business of fake bills in the center.

Meanwhile, Jenkins perks up. "Who was that?" he says, turning his head up in the direction of the roof. Bando really should keep his commentary for later it seems.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Gwen is nodding at Bando's assessment. It's a smart way to do this if one's a crooked cop. Of course that the loud manner in which Bando 'whispers' that makes Gwen grimace under the mask, immediately pressing herself to the ground and with one hand she brings Bando down too. Strong grip! "Shhhhh!" she murmurs rather quietly, just as Jenkins peers up.

That was close!

The mask turns towards Bando and she shakes her head, a finger resting on her lips. This was getting dire. If they are found they will most likely be shot at, and who knows what those cops can do with those devices. So for now she keeps down, hoping that perhaps they won't find them.

Bando George has posed:
Bando likewise ducks low, and with Gwen's help, goes flat enough that his face presses against the pebbled rooftop, wincing an apologetic face. He mouths the word 'sorry'. He doesn't move at all, just listening.

Down below, nobody talks for the moment. It's silent completely. Which makes it hard to see what's happening under full cover.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
No one talking. Silence. This is not good. It means they have been detected so Gwen motions for Bando to start edging towards another side of the building. Perhaps an escape is in order. Yet for them to do so Gwen has to peek out to see what's up...

And so, inch by inch she starts moving her head up to peer across to the street to see what's going on. Hopefully she won't get shot. Sometimes she wonders if she puts too much faith in her danger sense.

Yet what could go wrong?

Bando George has posed:
Bando stays low, backing away carefully from the edge. There's the cock of a gun.

"Hey, what is this?" the voice of the tattoo'd man speaks. "You doublecrossing?"

"Who's on the roof?" Jericho's voice returns.

"That's what I wanna know," the tattoo'd man answers. "Not one'a mine. Who knew we were going to be here tonight?"

Bando stops his retreat, and reaches out to grab Gwen's arm, his grip a little tight. Tight like he's frightened, but his face looks more worried, like he's trying to figure out his next action. He looks at Gwen, and looks at the edge of the roof. It doesn't look like retreat is what's on his mind.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Do they have enough evidence by now? It's a good question, but one thing is for sure, they need to figure this out. And she's a hero, not a skulking spy. So instead she takes a deep breath, a gesture for Bando to remain low for the moment and then she....

Slides right up to that edge, perched up on it on a sort of squatted position, feet together, knees wide from each other. Arms open to the sides.

"Good evening, boys." She states in her flippant manner, a look around the gas station. "Not sure if you guys saw the memo, but this station's been closed for a while now, if you were wanting to get some gas."

Ghost Spider's demeanor comes to the fore, the snarky one, but she's been wanting to get snarky with these people for a while now. "I am hoping you aren't up to no good!"

She leans over, body tense, ready for those shots.

Bando George has posed:
Jenkins and Jericho look at Gwen, and each other, and all guns point at the tattoo'd man. "David Miles, you're under arrest for the attempt to sell illegal weaponry. You have the right to remain silent..." Jericho has decided to take a different stance rather than fight the Ghost Spider. Surely he knows how that's likely to end. He's been on the force long enough to know that the Spider's are a force to be reckoned with, regardless of anyone's opinion.

Bando, at that note, does NOT do what he was told, head shooting up. He has to see what's happening after a declaration like that. He has no mask, but it's dark, and he's silohuetted mostly by the night sky. "What in the world?" he asks.

"Ghost Spider," Jenkins declares up to her. "This is official police business. You aren't needed here, we have it under control." The tattoo'd man cusses. "You bastards! We had a deal! You are gonna burn for this." He's slammed against the van, and while he could resist, he doesn't. His legs are kicked apart and he's handcuffed by the third. Bando's lip curls on one side, looking mildly confused. "It's a sting operation?" he asks Gwen quietly. Surely the cops below can hear him, but likely wouldn't be able to distinguish the specifics of his question.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Eyes narrow under her mask, Ghost Spider's hood turning to each of the cops in turn. She isn't dumb, she knows what's at play here. It's a good play actually, and it somewhat ties her hands about the whole thing. Yet nothing like rocking the hornet's nest to see what comes out of it. "I know what you have been up to." is this to Miles? Or to the cops?

"Is that why that other captain got shot up?" she asks them, voice getting nastier. "Got too close to the truth?" she turns to look at Miles directly even as she whispers in a quiet manner to Bando, "They are bluffing. Stay alert."

Bando George has posed:
"Call it in," Jericho orders. "Ghost Spider, this is a crime scene, we're going to have to ask you to leave. And Captain Stacy's involvement in this case is not up for discussion. You, kid, what's your name?" he says to Bando. "You don't have any business being out here this late, and not with vigilantes to boot."

Jenkins leans in and whispers something to Miles, who growls, and begins cussing them out. Apparently he doesn't like whatever was said.

"Get me outta this, Spider, I'll spill it all to ya!" Miles calls up at Gwen. That might be a first. The crook is asking the superhero for help. And asking for help against cops to boot.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"But I thought crime scenes was where I was supposed to be." Gwen retorts to Jericho, "You know, saving the day. Or..." a pause as she looks between Jenkins and Miles, "What did he just tell you?" she asks the crook, a brow arching under the mask. She might have an idea of what it was but .., she wants to hear the man say it.

And indeed she doesn't leave just yet. Disobeying the police! Her father wouldn't be happy at all. But these guys are crooks, she is *sure* of it.

And most likely to blame for her father having been shot. So she doesn't budge. "You know, if I save Miles here I wonder how much he'd sing about you guys here.."

Bando George has posed:
"I'm sure he'd say anything to get himself clear," Jericho answers. "And I'm also sure that you'd be charged with aiding and abedding, obstruction of justice, and assault of a police officer." His dark bald head turns up at Gwen, challenging her to test him on the matter. Jenkins takes David, and starts shoving him toward the car.

"I got it all!" the crook declares back up at Gwen. "You want it you better hurry!" he cries out. It's clear that he's a little nervous about what happens when he leaves this scene.

"Ghost Spider," Bando says, "Should I?" Bando's powers mean that there's several things he might be thinking of doing that could interrupt this process quickly, though what exactly he's thinking he doesn't say, lest he tip his hand to the others.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
It's tricky. If this doesn't work Gwen may very well start being hunted by the police. But then again, these are crooked cops, and there isn't anything she wouldn't do for her father. Even going against the law. No matter the consequences. A barely imperceptible nod is given to Bando. For him to go ahead with his plan, "I am going to disable their guns.." she whispers to Bando, "Do your thing.." which is a dangerous thing to suggest to Bando! But there he has it, the first big test. Lives on the line, including their own!

Speaking up louder she says to the cops, "Problem is ...." and she extends her arms suddenly, shooting webs from them. " .... I don't think you'd let that guy live the moment I turned my back." the webs target the guns, pinpoint precision with that spatial awareness of hers. A third is shot towards the one Jenkins has holstered, but he's the last one to be targetted.

"So he's coming with us."

Bando George has posed:
And it starts. The webs strike the two guns, binding and clogging them on their owners hands. Jenkins reaches for the door of the car, and *fwump* it disappears. It reappears over top of Jericho's car, and with a loud crunch, it drops on top of it, stacking the two vehicles.

And it's on fire. Why is it on fire!?

Bando's eyes go wide. "Oops." He glances around, as if trying to figure out what the next thing is that he should do about this. A burning car is a very bad thing.

Jenkins jacket is suddenly webbed against his holster, partly sticking the gun in place, but not fully. The response of David Miles though is helpful. He slams his head back with the surprise of the disappearing car, and blood sprays from Detective Jenkins' face as his nose is broken. Miles, though, is definitely caught off guard by the reappearance of same car above a neighboring vehicle, the yellow blaze illuminating the scene and casting long shadows on all of the men on the ground.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
It's a surprise to everyone. Really! Gwen's eyes go wide at it all. "Shit." a look to Bando, "The evidence.." she states about both the money and the tech they have inside the truck that is now starting to catch on fire. "Can you retrieve it? I am going for Miles.." and so she does.

*thwip* A web is shot towards a nearby lamp post and she swings in, hoping to take advantage on the rest of them being surprised so she can swoop in and take Miles up with her.

Risky! She knows it. But she's also Ghost Spider. Danger is her middle name! Besides Maxine....

As she swoops in she shouts. "Miles! Heads up!" so as to call the guy's attention, one arm outstretched to catch the man... Hopefully..

Bando George has posed:
Bando reaches out at the devices. *fwump* Next the money. *fwump* Both disapppear, reappearing on the roof with him. "He shoulders them, gathering them into his arms. It's a lot to carry really. He frantically unzips the duffle, and starts trying to cram the strange harnesses into the duffle with the cash to make it easier to carry.

Miles snaps his view back toward Gwen, and extends one elbow out for her to catch, which is the most he can do with handcuffs on, enabling her an easy grab of him. "See ya, assholes!" he declares to the three officers that are left behind.

Only Jenkins isn't about to let it go. He pulls at his jacket, managing to pry free enough of his gun's holster so that he can pull it free, and points at Gwen and Miles. A pop of the gun is heard, the bullet traveling directly between the two. Who it's going to strike could be either of neither of them, but the incoming shot is most certainly enough to set off a spider sense.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Damn it, Jenkins. Why are cops so dutiful when it's their ass on the line? And now he's shooting at them. Of course that the danger sense starts to flare almost immediately, her body twisting almost as if in reaction to it, turning in the air while she flies along with the heavier Miles. Not exactly easy dodging bullets with company attached. Specially the more heavy kind!

Another string of web is immediately shot. Towards another post. The aim to shift their direction abruptly so the bullet goes astray. Of course that it's easier said than done and with Gwen's attention being mainly on keeping Miles safe she still feels a graze of a shot near her shoulder. It doesn't penetrate the suit but it still hurts like heck! She grits her teeth through the pain, another web, another lamppost and off they start going, out of there!

A look is given over to Bando, hoping he gets the hell out of there like they are doing.

Bando George has posed:
Bando watches Gwen disappear into the darkness, uncertain of how or where to follow her. He looks down at the-

    KABOOOOM!

The fire hits the fuel line, a wave flowing under the carriage of the car and then pluming out across the car beneath it's back end. The vehicle lifts one end up, and slides forward and off. The blast knocks all three cops backward, and as the blown car crashes down next to the now burning second vehicle, gas spills out across the old pothole ridden parking lot, a wash of flame following the fluid as it spills across.

Bando is frozen for a moment, then with another *fwump* the burn car suddenly relocates to the middle of the street, away from the cops who have been laid out by the explosion. Another frantic look at where Gwen disappeared, and he looks down, and then *fwump*. He and the duffle bag suddenly vanish from sight.

And the contents spill out across the gas station's roof.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Well, crap. Gwen hears that explosion even as she is swinging away. And .., she really can't leave those people to die, no matter how crooked they may be. So with a, "Don't go anywhere." followed by webs glueing his legs to the sidewalk she turns to return to the scene of the 'crime'. Time to be a big damn hero again!

<Bando, where are you?> She sends through the spider-comms while she thwips back through the darkness to reach the flaming area. The car isn't atop the other car anymore..., that's good. But the cops are still laying about. And she can't see Bando anywhere...

Swooping in she starts to take the various cops out of there to a safe area, starting with Jenkins which she sees as the one closer to the fire itself!

Bando George has posed:
Back at the sedan he had been hiding behind earlier, Bando quickly dumps the duffle bag, tossing it behind a shrub in front of the house. He doesn't teleport back, but starts running back. "I'm coming!" he calls out to Gwen as she arrives, announcing his position publicly instead of using the comm. He also doesn't have any intention on leaving the cops to die. Particularly since he's responsible for the explosion. He's soon seen sprinting across the street, and he grabs Jericho. The man is twice his size, but he pulls his arms under neath the large black man's armpits, and starts hoisting him away from the second car, which is now also starting to burn, and likely to follow with its own explosion before long. "I got ya, Lieutenant," he encourages the groggy cop, who is somewhat conscious, if not a little dazed from the blast. He pulls him several yards, leaning him against the old concrete walls. He looks back at the car, and the third man yet to be rescude. His hand extends, and there's a *fwump*. The second burning car is relocated to the street as well, giving distance that's safer if it explodes. The wash of flaming heat vanishes from the parking lot.

"What the hell?" Jericho winces, looking at Bando, and back again. "Kid..."

"Stay still, I'm calling an ambulance," Bando says, standing up over the man, and pulling his phone out.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
As the men are finally out of the danger zone Gwen casts a look over at Bando, a quick whisper through comms, <Cover your face> really, getting his face known to cops wouldn't be good. Specially dirty ones. But even these guys don't deserve to get killed.

"Did you get the stuff for evidence?" she asks Bando before looking at the groggy fellows down on the ground. "And you, shame on you for what you are doing." she pointing a finger at them. "You are supposed to be the good guys and here you are sullying the PDs name."

"This city deserves better." And after her moral 'lesson' is given she looks at Bando, "Let's go."

Bando George has posed:
Bando covers his face the front of his shirt, shielding it from Jericho, who simply shakes his head.

"You vigilantes don't get it, we are doin' good," he says. "We're here on the front line. No masks. No powers. We were doin' a sting operation to get dirt off the street, and now you're helpin' the bad guys. "Better run, both a ya, because we're gonna find out who you are under the mask, and I'll book you myself."

"I uh," Bando keeps his shirt over his nose. "I got it over here, where's the guy?" he asks.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Sure you were. We will see about that." Ghost Spider replies, making sure the cops are out of harm's way, "Ambulances will be here soon, so you guys just relax and wait. It's time for us to go now." she gestures for Bando that it's time to go and then she starts wandering over to a side street, towards where she left the guy she 'saved'.

Hopefully all glued to the floor still.

"Not far from here." She finally tells Bando, "Webbed him to the ground."

Bando George has posed:
Bando follows, glancing over his shoulder. "I feel weird about this," he admits. "Are we really doing what's right? What if it is a sting operation?" she asks. "What if we just read this all wrong?" He jogs to catch up to her. "And how do we know if this guy is gonna tell us the truth?" he adds. Many questions.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Without backup?" Ghost Spider shakes her head slowly. "If this was a real sting operation that place would had been swarming with cops the moment we appeared. They are involved in what happened with my father. I -know- it." she states in a rather firm, near-angry tone.

Turning a corner she gestures, "Here we are." she looks at the thug they caught, "Now. Spill. Or else it's back to the cops with you. And I won't care what happens to you." not exactly nice-girl Ghost Spider anymore it seems!

Her hands rest on her hips.

Bando George has posed:
Bando shuts up, the harsh tone toward David Miles being enough to make him mute himself.

Miles looks at Ghost Spider. "I give you part," he says. "Cops are sick of getting outclassed in gear. Seems there's always someone with firepower from a supervillain, or aliens, or whatever. They got their peashooters most of the time, unless they are getting backup from the government. You know how fast that happens. So they lookin' for a deal. They get the gear they need, We get to keep our hustle without getting bothered. Talked about makin' something exclusive, but..." he shrugs. "I don't think that's gonna happen after tonight." He glances past Ghost Spider, and toward the corner, as if expecting someone to show up. "You want the rest? You get me outta here safe, first."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
As Miles explains what's going on it doesn't seem as if Ghost Spider is surprised. "It's as we thought." she tells Bando. It was pretty much something they had considered. Not that it makes her any happier. The hands on her hips move from there to fold together, mask still fully on poor Miles, "Who's behind it?" eyes going up and down the man. "Because you don't look like the techie." woah, so much social profiling!

"And how does the shoot out where Captain Stacy got hurt comes in?" she casts a look over to the street and then back. It's only a matter of a small click on her web shooters and when she shoots again whatever the product it is starts to dissolve the bindings on Miles.

Bando George has posed:
"Ahh no," Miles answers, "You gotta make sure I'm away from all this first. I don't want you just leavin' me here to get picked up as soon as you leave. Think I'm dumb or something?" he asks. "You sweet on Captain Stacy, huh?" he asks. "Think he's married, I hate to break it to ya. Has a kid and everything."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Making deals with criminals isn't exactly something Ghost Spider normally does. But where her family is concerned? She finds that there are shades of grey she is willing to go to. As the webs dissolve she reaches over to get Miles's shoulder, pulling him out. "Lets walk." she then says, gesturing for both Bando and Miles to walk with her.

She takes a turn through to the darker streets, making further distance from that abandoned gas station.

"A cop got hurt. That's a pretty big deal." she trying not to let emotion get into her tone.

Bando George has posed:
Miles smirks, a certain personal victory on his face. "Okay, okay," he says, shrugging off her grip, but continuing with her. "So you wanna know about Stacy, huh? Lt. Jericho back there says he was top of the food chain in this." He shrugs. "Me? I got my doubts. I think they are usin' him as their fall guy. Not my problem, though, I wouldn't mind him out of the picture. Who knows? Not really my problem. I know he got shot because he, some lady cop, and some brat showed up in the middle of the deal. People got spooked, shooting started happening."

Bando frowns. "Well if you hadn't been makin' illegal weapons deals then nobody would've gotten shot either!" he interjects defensively.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
That makes her frown. No evidence. Just someone's word against her father who is still in a coma. It meant they'd need to dig deeper. Figure out what's going on. "And now what matters. Who are you working for?" because she knows that's where she may be able to prove all this. And her father's innocence.

A glance is given to Bando as the young man starts going all defensive about his own presence at the shootout. She shakes her head at him.

Bando George has posed:
"Oh no," David shakes his head. "I said I'd give you all their dirt, not mine," he tells Gwen. "I got my own head to worry about. And you didn't hear none of this from me." He glances at Bando. "Kid, you got one shit poker face, may wanna work on that." Bando glances at Gwen, and then at Miles, and shuts up again. It's clear he has plenty to say, but instead he folds his arms in what looks like a pout.

"Look, we rob from the people you like to stop," David offers. "So you could think of us as bein' on the same side, right?" he suggests. "We make their life harder, we make your life easier. That's all that matters. You wanna stop those cops from being better at taking people down? That's you, I'm not gonna complain, only if you stop me from makin' my money, hear?"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Yea, that's not going to work." Ghost Spider flatly tells back to Miles with a shake of her head, "It seems to me that right now either you come clean or those cops are going to kill you the moment they get their hands on you. But fine, if you won't tell me who you work -for-, you can at least tell me where those things come from. Or rather." a pause, "Who did you steal it from?" she opens her arms to the side.

"Seems fair enough to me that you will at least give me that." A shrug, "Or go make your case with the cops. I am sure they'd love to hear you talking." she certainly seems to drive a hard bargain!

Bando George has posed:
"Pfft," Miles answers, "They ain' gonna kill me, they wanna do business. They kill me their whole deal is dead. They might be crooked, but I don't think they that crooked." He ponders the request for where they steal from. "Mostly inventors. It's not just one. One is a PhD student over at a university. Um, there's a guy that's been workin' on some kind of shady tech for one of the big villains I think. And there's a small timer that's out to take down TCRI." He shrugs. "We don't gotta stick to just one, y'know. I deal more in the finished product, y'know." In other words, the group is large enough that this guy is just a cog in the wheel.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Alright. Get out of here." Ghost Spider then finally says to Miles, waiting until David is gone before she looks at Bando, "Got it all recorded through the spider-tech." she reaching up to tap the side of her mask. Really, Peter can be a genius when it wants to sometimes.

"So now it's time to gather our evidence and go high up." She tells her trusty sidekick!
